The Swift Messengers are to Receive Means to Take Their Warning Message to the Church and The World"It is as necessary that the truth should be published in a paper, as preached." E. G. White, Review and Herald, Vol. 1, p. 12.
"The Lord has shown me that precious souls are starving, and dying for want of the present, sealing truth, the meat in due season; and that the Swift Messengers should speed on their way, and feed the flock with the present truth. I heard an Angel say, 'speed the swift messengers, speed the swift messengers; for the case of every soul will soon be decided, either for Life, or for Death.'
"The rebuke of the Lord will rest upon those who would bar the way, that clearer light shall not come to the people. A great work is to be done, and God sees that our leading men have need of more light, that they may unite with the messengers who He sends to accomplish the work that He designs shall be done. The Lord has raised up messengers [plural], and endued them with His Spirit, and has said, 'Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and who My people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins [Isa. 58:1]. Let no one run the risk of interposing between the people and the message of Heaven. This message will go to the people; and if there were no voice among men to give it, the very stones would cry out." E.G. White, Gospel Workers, 304. "Here we see that the church--The Lord's sanctuary-- Notice the qualifying, key phrases, such as "...the Lord's Sanctuary; "those to whom God had given great light; and "God's people." Make no mistake about it friend, the above statement is solely in reference to God's people, professing Seventh-day Adventists. Also, the "dumb dogs" part is quoting Isaiah 56:10-12, where God is speaking of His chosen people, not Babylon! Inspiration never uses such pejoratives to describe Babylon. "God has not appointed any man guide, nor made any man conscience for another; therefore let human hands be withheld from restraining His servants who feel the burden to enter his vineyard to labour. Let God work with His own chosen agents by His Holy Spirit. . . . "Enoch, Noah, Moses, Daniel, and the long roll of patriarchs and prophets,--these were ministers of righteousness. They were not infallible; they were weak, erring men; but the Lord wrought through them as they give themselves to His service." E. G. White, Gospel Workers, 13. "In every age prophets had lifted up their voices against the sins of kings, rulers, and people, speaking the words which God gave them, and obeying His will at the peril of their lives. From generation to generation there had been heaping up a terrible punishment for the rejecters of light and truth. This the enemies of Christ were now drawing down upon their own heads. The sin of the priests and rulers was greater than that of any preceding generation. By their rejection of the Saviour, they were making themselves responsible for the blood o all the righteous men slain from Abel to Christ." E. G. White, Desire of Ages, 618. "God has no sympathy with the evil doer. He gives no one liberty to gloss over the sins of His people, nor to cry, 'peace, peace,' when He has declared that there shall be no peace for the wicked. Those who stir up rebellion against the servants whom God sends to deliver His messages are rebelling against the word of the Lord." Testimonies, Vol. 4, p. 185. "Today, in the spirit and power of Elias and of John the Baptist, MESSENGERS OF GOD'S APPOINTMENT are calling the attention of a judgment-bound world to the solemn events soon to take place in connection with the closing hours of probation and the appearance of Christ Jesus as King of kings, and Lord of lords." E. G. White, Prophets and Kings, 716. "It may be argued that the Lord gives special wisdom to those to whom he has entrusted grave responsibilities. The Lord does give special wisdom to him who has sacred trusts. If the human agent, moment by moment, makes God his only helper, and walks humbly with him, God will then give light and knowledge and wisdom, in order that his human agent may be able to guide his brethren who would look to him for counsel as to their duty. In a clear and forcible manner he will point them to a Source that is untainted and pure from the defects and errors that are so apparent in humanity. He may, for it is his privilege, refuse to be brains and conscience for his brethren. He may tell them with softened heart that he goes to God for supplies of wisdom and grace, and that the Lord will give liberally to all who ask him for wisdom. He will discern and lay bare the peril there is in looking to human agents instead of to God, and will encourage them to do as Jesus has instructed his children to do,--go to God for knowledge, wisdom, power, and grace." E. G. White, Review and Herald, Vol.3, 175. "I have no smooth message to bear to those who have been so long as FALSE GUIDEPOSTS, pointing the WRONG WAY. If you reject God's delegated messengers, you reject Christ." E. G. White, Testimonies to Ministers, 97. "Most startling messages will be borne by men of God's appointment, messages of a character to warn the people, to arouse them. And while some will be provoked by the warning, and led to resist light and evidence, we are to see from this that we are giving the testing message for this time. Messages will be given out of the usual order." E. G. White, Testimonies, Vol. 9, 137. "The messages from heaven are of a character to arouse opposition. The faithful witnesses for Christ and the truth will reprove sin. Their words will be like a hammer to break the flinty heart, like a fire to consume the dross. There is constant need off earnest, decided messages of warning. God will have men who are true to duty. At the right time He sends His faithful messengers to do a work similar to that of Elijah." E. G. White, Testimonies, Vol. 5, 254. We are not to use the sacred tithe for anyother purpose than the support of the ministry. Ellen White says that it is not even to be used to help the poor. We cannot be prospered by God in any endeavor if we rob Him of the sacred tithe.
