Smyrna Ministries' (Lynnford Beachy, Martin Eldon and Allen Stump's) Great Error

Dear Reader,

I have been fair in presenting the good that may be obtained from studying the material provided by Smyrna Ministries and its operators Lynnford Beachy and Allen Stump. I have exhibited the same fairness to Martin Eldon. I will continue to keep their material on my WebSite. I have given them time to recant on their teaching that the Holy Spirit is ONLY the Spirit of the Father and that there are thus only one person that comprises the Godhead. The logical conculsion of that teaching is no better than that of the trinity doctrine which this study will prove. At such time as they should notify me of a change in their teaching, I will correct this study to reflect that change.

The Holy Spirit is the life and soul Divine Nature person of Christ which He laid aside at His Incarnation as a regenerating gift to us. Before the Incarnation, the Father and the Son were of the One Eternal Spirit. The heavenly trio came about at the Son's Incarnation, when He sacrificed His first estate of Being which was purely divine (not yet combined with humanity) for us for the purpose of overcoming and regenerating us back into the image of God or AT-ONE-MENT with Him. That sacrifice was necessary for sanctification, and without that sacrifice, Christ's death on the cross would have been to no avail because there would have been no cure for sin. Without a cure, the Sanctuary would never be able to be cleansed of sin. Sin would go on for eternity.

So, without the sacrifice of the Divine Nature Holy Spirit life and soul of Christ, as it existed before the Incarnation, there would have been no Atonement and no Sanctuary cleansing, thus annulling the Atonement and the Sanctuary messages, and effectually the entire gospel. This is what Ellen White meant when she saw the Atonement Gone--the Sanctuary Gone--The Upward Look, 152, in connection with the Alpha of Apostasy. The trinity doctrine does not teach this sacrifice (laying aside) of the Divine Nature Holy Spirit life and soul of the Son of God for us, resulting in the heavenly trio. It was His Holy Spirit life and soul that He laid aside as a crowing, greatest good gift to us. The Holy Spirit then became a third person. Until that time the Holy Spirit was the one eternal Spirit of the Father and the Son. It existed eternally, but the Son laid aside His part of that Holy Spirit (substance and essence) for us. His humanity cumbered that omnipresent Spirit.

"Cumbered with humanity Christ could not be in every place personally, therefore it was altogether for their advantage that He should leave them to go to His Father and send the Holy Spirit to be His successor on earth. The Holy Spirit is Himself divested of the personality of humanity and independent thereof. He would represent Himself as present in all places by His Holy Spirit." E.G. White, (Manuscript Releases Volume 14 (Nos 1081-1135) MR No.1084.

The Holy Spirit became the Son's successor on earth at His Incarnation. It could not die, but by laying it aside, the Son met the requirements of the Testator Everlasting Covenant by in effect dying to His former PURELY DIVINE life, and taking upon Himself humanity forever. He was still fully divine and fully human, but He laid aside or in effect "died to" His first estate of existence or Being as a fully divine ONLY Being. This was a sacrifice without which His death on the cross would have been of no avail because there would have been no cure for sin without His Divine Nature Mind being available to us for that purpose.

"Christ declared that after his ascension, he would send to his church, as his crowning gift, the Comforter, who was to take his place. This Comforter is the Holy Spirit,--the soul of his life, the efficacy of his church, the light and life of the world. With his Spirit Christ sends a reconciling influence and a power that takes away sin.
In the gift of the Spirit [HIS LIFE--THE SOUL OF HIS LIFE], Jesus gave to man the highest good that heaven could bestow....
The Spirit was given as a regenerating agency, and without this the sacrifice of Christ would have been of no avail...
It is by the Spirit that the heart is made pure. Through the Spirit the believer becomes a partaker of the divine nature. Christ has given His Spirit as a divine power to overcome all hereditary and cultivated tendencies to evil, and to impress his own character upon the church." E.G. White, Review and Herald Articles, May 19, 1904, vol. 5, p. 42.

"He (Christ) suffered the death which was ours, that we might receive the life which WAS His." Desire of Ages, p. 25; 1 Cor. 11:24-265, cf. John 6:53, 54, Titus 3:5, 6.

One of the greatest evidences that Christ laid aside His Son of God life at His Incarnation, and that it remained in heaven while Christ was on earth, is John 3:13. Jesus is speaking face to face with Nicodemus, yet He says the Son of Man is in heaven:

"And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven." John 3:13.

This proves the very scenario of the Godhead which I have taught. Jesus came down from heaven, but His first Estate (Being) was still in heaven as He spoke with Nicodemus. This verse agrees with Ellen White when she said that the life, breath soul and mind of Christ, is the Holy Spirit.

Two Sacrifices -- "The darkness rolled away from the Saviour and from the cross. Christ bowed His head and died. In His Incarnation He had reached the prescribed limit as a SACRIFICE, but not as a Redeemer. The controversy in regard to the rebellion was answered. The human race has an open door set before them. 'These things saith He that is holy, He that is true, He that hath the key of David, He that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth' [Rev. 3:7]." E.G. White Manuscript Releases Volume Twelve, p. 409.

The Incarnation reached the prescribed limit as a sacrifice because it fulfilled the Everlasting Covenant requirement that the Testator (the Son) must die. He "died" to His former life by laying it aside and bequeathing it to us as a regenerating gift for overcoming sin. The wages of sin is eternal death, not three days in a tomb. In this regard, Christ paid the eternal wages of sin--eternal death. He eternally died to His PURE DIVINE STATE OF BEING held before His Incarnation, by laying it aside as a gift to us. That is a form of death which satisfied the death of the Testator requirement to the Everlasting Covenant.

Hbr 9:16 For where a testament [is], there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.

Hbr 9:17 For a testament [is] of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.

"The Incarnation of Christ was an act of self-sacrifice; His life was one of continual self-denial. The highest glory of the love of God to man was manifested in the sacrifice of His only-begotten Son, who was the express image of His person. This is the great mystery of godliness. It is the privilege and the duty of every professed follower of Christ to have the mind of Christ. Without self-denial and cross bearing we cannot be His disciples." E.G. White, Selected Messages, Book 2, p. 185.

This is the full gospel of a complete Atonement and Sanctuary sacrifice. The Trinity doctrine does not teach that the Holy Spirit became a third person at the Incarnation of Christ. Before that, it was the Spirit of the Son and of the Father--it was their very substance and essence. But the Son sacrificed His PURE ESSENCE for us. That indeed was a sacrifice. It was a sacrifice for the Son of God to become amalgamated with fallen humanity forever.

When the trinity doctrine says that the Holy Spirit was a third person coeval with the Father and the Son, it denies the greatest, crowning gift of the Son at His Incarnation--which is when the third entity of the Godhead came about to form a heavenly trio as Ellen White describes it.

The Heavenly Trio Counterpart to the Trinity Doctrine

Speaking of the track of error lying close to the track of truth--this heavenly trio is so close to the trinity concept, that Satan has used the trinity doctrine to deny (subterfuge) this greatest of good crowning gifts, and if the trinity doctrine is correct, there has been no AT-ONE-MENT, and not fulfillment of the Sanctuary Service, for we could not be AT-ONE-MENT with Christ without that regenerating gift of His Divine Nature, and the Sanctuary could never be cleansed, because Christ's death on the cross did not provide a cure for sin or sanctification. It was His Incarnation sacrificed life and soul (Holy Spirit) that effects this provision.

Thus, in effect, the trinity doctrine, in teaching that the Holy Spirit was a third person coeval with the Father and the Son, thus denies one of the greatest sacrifices the Son made for us--the Sacrifice of His pure Divine Nature personal Holy Spirit life and soul, which was not available under the Old Covenant. Thus, it obviates the Atonement and the Sanctuary Service. This is what SDA pioneers such as James White and J.N. Andrews meant when they observed that the trinity doctrine did total despite to the Atonement and the Sanctuary.

Why has this truth not been seen before since it is provable from Scripture alone? Because it is Satan's last day Omega Heresy which intrudes himself right into the very Godhead by perverting that Godhead. How? Why? Again, under the teaching of the trinity doctrine, there has been no valid Atonement and no fulfillment of the Everlasting Covenant and the Sanctuary Service, because a three day death of the Testator just does not meet the requirement that the Testator must die to something eternally, because the wages of sin is eternal death.

There are certain ministries, like Smyrna Ministries (led by Lynnford Beachy and Allen Stump--and Martin Eldon) who teach that the Father is the Holy Spirit. They cannot see past that point. They do not consider the Son to be God. If the Son is not God, then how could He atone for anything? They cannot see the sacrifice that accrued at the Incarnation. Therefore, the conclusion of their teaching is no better than that of the trinity doctrine, because both deny the Incarnation sacrifice, resulting in the third person of the Godhead, the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit life and soul of the Son as sacrificed and bequeathed to us as a regenerating, "crowing--greatest good gift" to us. Therefore, the logical conclusion to their teaching is no better than the trinity doctrine. Both deny the greatest sacrifice without which Christ's sacrifice on the cross would have been of no avail--because without that sacrifice there would have been no cure for sin, just justification for sin--forever.

The trinity doctrine says that the Holy Spirit lived forever. That denies that the Son sacrificed His personal Holy Spirit as a regenerating agency at His Incarnation. Saying that the Holy Spirit is only the Spirit of a third person to the Godhead other than the Father and the Son.

Smyrna Ministries, on the other hand, teaches what results in the same denial that the Son sacrificed His personal Holy Spirit life and soul at His Incarnation, and that it was then laid aside as a regenerating gift to us as the third person Holy Spirit life and soul of the Son of God.

Smyrna Ministries, Martin Eldon and Allen Stump, teach that there is only one member of the Godhead, the Father, and that the Holy Spirit is the Father. This flies in the face of many statements by Ellen White to the contrary. Smyrna Ministries and Martin Eldon directly contradict Ellen White in her statements which depict a heavenly trio. Is it possible that in their intense desire to disprove the trinity doctrine, that they have avoided any semblance of a heavenly trio and three parties to the Godhead? Even James White admitted that there were some similarity of the beliefs of the pioneers on the Godhead, with the trinity doctrine, and the heavenly trio was that similarity.

The above ministries teach that Divinity died on the cross. Tht is a direct contradiction of Ellen White who says that only Christ's humanity died. When men think that they know more than the Holy Spirit gift to the church via the Spirit of Prophecy, turn and run friend, as fast as you can.

"I am the resurrection, and the life' (John 11:25). He who had said, 'I lay down my life, that I might take it again' (John 10:17), came forth from the grave to life that was IN HIMSELF. Humanity died; DIVINITY DID NOT DIE. In His divinity, Christ possessed the power to break the bonds of death. He declares that He has life in Himself to quicken whom He will." E.G. White, Selected Messages, Book 1, p. 301.

The above ministries teach that there was not a heavenly trio:

I would be obliged to entertain all and any additional questions by anyone on this forum.
