Subject: home church omega
Ron,
In your latest you say we should even leave our home churches if they commit the specifications of the omega of apostasy!
What exactly are the specs of the omega of apostasy as they might apply to a home church in order to know when to leave my home church?
Sorry, but I am not entirely clear on the omega of apostasy.
Bryan

Dear Bryan,

The following conclusions are based (basically) on the two following statements by Ellen White:

"Christ declared that after his ascension, he would send to his church, as his crowning gift, the Comforter, who was to take his place. This Comforter is the Holy Spirit,--the soul of his life, the efficacy of his church, the light and life of the world. With his Spirit Christ sends a reconciling influence and a power that takes away sin. In the gift of the Spirit [HIS LIFE--THE SOUL OF HIS LIFE], Jesus gave to man the highest good that heaven could bestow.... The Spirit was given as a regenerating agency, and without this the sacrifice of Christ would have been of no avail.... It is by the Spirit that the heart is made pure. Through the Spirit the believer becomes a partaker of the divine nature. Christ has given his Spirit as a divine power to overcome all hereditary and cultivated tendencies to evil, and to impress his own character upon the church." E.G. White, Review and Herald Articles, May 19, 1904, vol. 5, p. 42.

“Cumbered with humanity Christ could not be in every place personally, therefore it was altogether for their advantage that He should leave them to go to His Father and send the Holy Spirit to be His successor on earth. The Holy Spirit is Himself divested of the personality of humanity and independent thereof. He would represent Himself as present in all places by His Holy Spirit.” E.G. White, (Manuscript Releases Volume 14 (No’s 1081-1135) MR No.1084.

The Omega of Apostasy, like the Alpha, was to involve the presence and personality of God, Selected Messages, Book 1, 202, 203. We are not to enter controversy over that realm, but that is what Kellogg and his cronies did. That is what the leaders of the church have done in the Omega of Apostasy. The correct understanding of the Godhead involves a correct understanding of the presence and personality of God (Christ) as far as we are given to understand it. Ellen White elucidated on this theme. The presence of God has everything to do with the Holy Spirit and His Mission, because God is Spirit and according to Scripture, there is ONE ETERNAL SPIRIT.

What constitutes the Omega of Apostasy? Tampering in any way with anything that has to do with the presence and personality of God (Christ) and the Holy Spirit. What else constitutes the Omega of Apostasy? All of the specifications in Selected Messages, Book 1, 204-5, eg. forming a New Movement--New Organization "among" within the church; books of a new order which tamper with our foundational beliefs held by the pioneers; "NOTHING would be allowed to stand in the way of the NEW MOVEMENT...[not even truth], God being REMOVED, they would place their dependence on HUMAN POWER, WHICH, WITHOUT GOD, IS WORTHLESS.

More on the Presence and Personality of God, Christ and the Holy Spirit as These Have Been Affected by the Omega of Apostasy

In the early 1930's, the General Conference adopted the Trinity doctrine of the Godhead. This has everything to do with the presence and personality of God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit and WHO THE HOLY SPIRIT IS. This is the main point of contention--WHO THE HOLY SPIRIT IS. Since Ellen White says that the Holy Spirit is a distinct person, and because it is the Holy Spirit that is OMNIPRESENT, it becomes clear that the issue of the Godhead involves the personality and presence of God. Now this is KEY: Ellen White says that the Holy Spirit is the LIFE AND SOUL of Christ. I will give her statements further along, but for the sake of articulation, let us continue with the difference between Ellen White's definition of the Holy Spirit as opposed to the definition furnished by the Trinity Doctrine, as applied by Babylon.

If the Holy Spirit is the LIFE AND SOUL of Christ, and at the same time is A DISTINCT THIRD PERSON, how can that be? I will tell you the only way it can be so. The Lord showed me this in vision, but I believe that the truth of what I was shown will be self-evident to the discerning student of the Word. The Holy Spirit has always existed as the ONE ETERNAL SPIRIT ESSENCE--SUBSTANCE of the Father and the Son. However, at His Incarnation, the Son laid aside His Pure Spirit essence--substance. He laid it to the Father's care and bequeathed it to us as a regenerating agent that we might be restored to the image of God, man's first estate. So in laying aside His first estate of being, that of PURE SPIRIT ESSENCE--SUBSTANCE ONLY, He gave us the "greatest good, crowning gift" that He could bestow," as Ellen White states it. And that is when the Holy Spirit became a THIRD PERSON, per say, even though the Holy Spirit existed from eternity as the ONE SPIRIT ESSENCE OF THE FATHER AND THE SON, making them ONE GOD because of ONE SHARED ESSENCE--SUBSTANCE--or SPIRIT.

The Abomination of the Trinity Doctrine

The trinity doctrine teaches that the third person Holy Spirit always existed from the beginning. This would preclude and deny the greatest sacrifice made for man without which Christ's sacrifice on the cross would have been of no avail, says Ellen White. This sacrifice at the Incarnation, involved even a greater sacrifice, according to her, than Christ's death on the cross, so one should begin to see the seriousness of this issue!

Why was that sacrifice at the Incarnation greater and more important? That sacrifice made it possible for us to partake of the Divine Nature of Christ for the purpose of overcoming. Without that sacrifice which provides power for overcoming sin, all the cross would have availed is to pardon sin forever, without providing a remedy. The REMEDY being the Holy Spirit which is the Divine Nature of Christ, which we may partake of for overcoming sin. This is the provision of the sacrifice made at the Incarnation which the Trinity Doctrine by-passes COMPLETELY.

Why was that sacrifice so important? Why could not the Holy Spirit be sent to us for regeneration without the Incarnation sacrifice, as the Trinity Doctrine teaches? For an extremely important reason. The Testator to the Everlasting Covenant must die to something FOREVER to atone for death. For Scripture says that while the Testator liveth, the Testament is of no account or invalid. Three days on the cross would not atone for our sin which has a penalty of loss of ETERNAL LIFE. The Son had to give up something ETERNALLY. What He gave up or sacrificed, was His PURE SPIRIT (ONLY) ESSENCE---SUBSTANCE. He then became the Son of God in a NEW SENSE, says Ellen White. So the Trinity doctrine violates the stipulations of the Everlasting Covenant--that the Testator must die to something forever to pay (atone) for the penalty of the wages of sin which is eternal death. According to the Trinity Doctrine, there has been no eternal sacrifice, no atonement that paid the price for the wages of sin, ETERNAL DEATH OF THE TESTATOR. We do not understand every detail of the Godhead. I am giving what we have been given by inspiration on this issue. Ellen White said we will be learning on this subject for eternity.

Now I realize that the ONE ETERNAL SPIRIT of the Son prior to His Incarnation LIVES ON. But the Son, in effect, DIED TO THAT LIFE, by divesting it from His humanity. He died to that pure Spirit essence-substance ONLY, FOREVER. That was a sacrifice that finite minds cannot comprehend. Many men have hung on a cross for days, but no man has ever made that kind of sacrifice.

How was Christ the Son of God in a NEW SENSE? He became combined with humanity--divinity combined with humanity FOREVERMORE. So what was the great sacrifice? He laid aside PERSONAL omnipresence, omnipotence, omniscience FOREVER. This is why He did not know the hour of His coming! This is why He said He would pray the Father to have the Holy Spirit sent to His disciples and all who would receive it.

Hbr 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

THE eternal Spirit, designates ONE eternal Spirit. Further proof that there is ONE SPIRIT:

Eph 2:18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

How is the Presence and Personality of God Affected by the Trinity Doctrine?

The great sacrifice made at the Incarnation, which the Trinity doctrine does not comprehend, displays the great principle of self-sacrificing love of Christ, that He should lay aside His former estate of being, FOREVER, to become the Son of God in A NEW SENSE. That the Father should permit this great sacrifice, demonstrates the same type of self-sacrificing love on His part. This says a lot about the PERSONALITY of the Godhead. So what about the PRESENCE part? This has already been explained above. God laid aside His life and soul being, at His Incarnation, so that the Holy Spirit BEING, person, could be PRESENT with us by our partaking of His Divine Nature, as Scripture admonishes us to so partake. So you can see that the greatest Omega of Apostasy, involved the personality and presence of God, Christ, the Holy Spirit, and a tremendous sacrifice that no man can fully comprehend.

Implications of the Trinity Doctrine

Do Trinitarians really teach that we can overcome all sin this side of glorification? Not that I know of. Why? Because they do not teach nor comprehend the great sacrifice that was made at the Incarnation -- for that express purpose. The Trinity Doctrine is the Devil's workmanship to make folk believe that they can receive the Holy Spirit without receiving the gift of regeneration or pardon without power for obedience. Trinitarians are high on pardon, but low on POWER provided by the grace of the Holy Spirit for obedience, Rom. 1:5. They want the pardon for sin but not the POWER to overcome it. They want to sin confess, sin confess. They do not want the inconvenience of overcoming sin because they love sin. They do not want the inconvenience of Sabbath keeping, for example. Ellen White says that commandment-keeping does involve inconvenience, and that is an empirical fact.

Now, Bryan, if you will read all the other items on my Website on the Godhead, you will have a good understanding of where I am coming from. All the substantiating Bible and EGW statements are there. I said I would include them here, but I do not have time for the repetition. Please consult my Website. Hope this helps brother. If you have further questions, please feel free to ask any time.

In regard to leaving even our home churches if they commit any of the specified violations of the Omega of Apostasy, that includes the above teaching on the Trinity, as well as all the specifications found in Selected Messages, Book 1, 204-5.

Your brother in Christ Jesus
