Deadliest Cherished Error #5:

Identifying and comparing the professing New Movement SDA church of 1999, with the true SDA church of 1893, in an effort to prove the church is not part of Babylon now.

Ellen White said that the SDA church in 1893, was keeping the commandments of God and heeding the Laodicean Message. Current SDA leaders use those statements to try to prove that the church is doing the same in 1999! That is pure folly! Satan is the opportunist of all opportunists. In setting up his New Movement "among" within, the professing SDA Church, he has employed the marvelous device of using Ellen White's description of the status of the SDA church in 1893, as testament proof that the church is no part of Babylon today. This is like Satan saying that because he was once next to Christ in favor with the Father in heaven, he is still enjoys that same status! Satan has been using this type of deception on professing Seventh-day Adventists for decades now, and they are such sleeping foolish virgins most of them are non the wiser.

The article Ellen White wrote in 1893, described the church as keeping the commandments of God, and heeding the Laodicean Message. Now how does that mean that the church would always be keeping the commandments of God and heeding the Laodicean Message?! The church now teaches that it is impossible to keep the commandments of God perfectly until glorification. And, if the church had maintained its heeding of the Laodicean Message, it would have been in the Kingdom of God ere this, instead of being in an unpardonable state of the Omega of Apostasy due to its ecumenical confederacy with fallen Babylon, and trashing of the three angels' messages, if for no other reason, though there are many more. So, essentially, the SDA church points to its roots of 1893, as evidence that it could never fall or become any part of Babylon. Is that what Ellen White taught? Is that what Scripture teaches? It is our mission to answer those important questions in this segment of exploring the seven deadliest errors of professing, New Movement, Seventh-day Adventism.

What Ellen White Really Taught About the SDA Church--The Rest of the Story

Read the following statement by Ellen White, and then contemplate if you think that the professing SDA church could never fall and its mission and commission be given to others:

"The Lord Jesus will always have a chosen people to serve Him. When the Jewish people rejected Christ, the Prince of life, He took from them the kingdom of God and gave it unto the Gentiles. God will continue to work on this principle with every branch of His work. When a churchproves unfaithful to the work of the Lord, whatever their position may be, however high and sacred their calling, the Lord can no longer work with them. Others are then chosen to bear important responsibilities. But, if these in turn do not purify their lives from every wrong action, if they do not establish pure and holy principles in all their borders, then the Lord will grievously afflict and humble them and, unless they repent, will remove them from their place and make them a reproach.
God is not 'worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing' (Acts 17:25)." E. G. White, The Upward Look, 131.

Can we conclude from the above statement that the professing SDA church could never fall? Indeed not! And what about "others" constituting an eighth church? The above statement would not even be an option; Ellen White would be a false prophet, if "others" chosen of God to fulfill His work would constitute an eighth church! The truth of the matter involving the seven churches of Revelation 2 and 3, is that the seven churches represented seven eras of the church, not seven literal churches. Some of those eras had many churches, such as the era just before Philadelphia, circa 1844!
But yet you hear the foolish-virgin prattling that any other formation of a church would be an eighth church which is not to ever be! That is pure nonsense, and constitutes another marvelous device Satan has used on sleepy Seventh-day Adventist minds. Adventists consider themselves as very astute students of the Word, and yet Satan has perpetrated such infantile and foolish sentiments among them. Yes, friend, these foolish, groundless errors have become cherished errors of professing Seventh-day Adventists, and they think themselves too rich, increased with goods, and too know it all to listen to any explanation of their folly.
It is all so simple! If the Jews, God's first chosen people fell, what would ever give any people the notion they could not fall no matter what they did, and that is what most Seventh-day Adventists believe. They publish a book entitled The Remnant Church, the very title implying that they cannot possibly fall! In that book SDAs have carefully selected all the statements by Ellen White that say that there will always be an SDA church that will keep the commandments of God and heed the Laodicean Message, and make no mistake about it, this writer fully agrees with Ellen White, but that does not preclude the fall of what only appears to be the true SDA Church!
The Remnant Church book gives many statements saying that the SDA church that KEEPS THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD will never be Babylon. All Ellen White was saying was just that and no more! She was saying that there would always be an SDA people who would adhere to commandment-keeping. That in no way precludes the fall of a structured, organized church calling itself Seventh-day Adventists, when it is not and does lie, Revelation 3:9. God warned us in Revelation 3:9, that associated with Philadelphia, which Adventism once was, would be a church which called itself "Jew" or Adventist, but was not and would lie. That church today is New Movement Adventism, which took over the church in a coup, Trojan horse type takeover. The New Movement we refer to is spelled out by Ellen White in Selected Messages, vol. 1, 204-205, and defined as the Omega of Apostasy.
It is interesting to note that The Remnant Church book does not give one particle of the weight of evidence on the other side of the picture wherein Ellen White clearly stated that the professing SDA church organization could become a sister to fallen Babylon! Most professing Adventists are totally unaware of the statement. Here is that little known, obscure statement:

"We must AS A PEOPLE arouse and cleanse the camp of Israel. Licentiousness, unlawful intimacy, and unholy practices are coming in among us in a large degree....We are in danger of becoming a sister to fallen Babylon, of allowing our churches to become corrupted and filled with every foul spirit, a cage for every unclean and hateful bird, and will we be clear unless we make decided movements to cure the existing evil? E. G. White, Manuscript Release No. 449, pp. 17, 18.

Most professing Adventists are taught and believe the lie that under no circumstances will the organized church ever become any part of Babylon. That is not what Ellen White ever intended to say as is made crystal clear in her statement above. Here is another statement to imply how and why the SDA church could become a part of fallen Babylon:

"The world must not be introduced into the church and married to the church. Through union with the world the church will become corrupt,--'a cage of every unclean and hateful bird." E. G. White, Review and Herald, 02-26-1895, pr. 4.

The world was introduced into the professing SDA church in the early 1930s when they voted to accept and teach the requirements of worldly accreditation standards in their educational institutions. There could have been no better way for Satan to enter and take over the church and marry it to the world than through its educational facilities! The reapings have been grim! New Movement Adventism could trace its roots to this fateful decision. The church changed leaders and knew it not!

"It is now the duty of God's commandment-keeping people to watch and pray, to search the Scriptures diligently, to hide the word of god in the heart, lest they sin against Him in idolatrous thoughts and debasing practices, and thus the church of God become demoralized like the fallen churches whom prophecy represents as being filled with every unclean and hateful bird." E. G. White, Review and Herald, May 17, 1887; also found in Testimonies on Sexual Behavior, Adultery, and Divorce, 188.

"Worldly policy is taking the place of true piety and wisdom that comes from above, and God will remove His prospering hand from the conference. Shall the ark of the covenant be removed from this people? Shall idols be smuggled in? Shall false principles and false precepts be brought into the sanctuary? Shall antichrist be respected? Shall the true doctrines and principles given us of God, which have made us what we are, be ignored?.... This is directly where the enemy, through blinded, unconsecrated men, is leading us." E. G. White, Manuscript 29, 1890.

"How frequently ancient Israel rebelled, and how often they were visited with judgments, and thousands slain, because they would not heed the commands of God who had chosen them! The Israel of God in these last days are in constant danger of mingling with the world and losing all signs of being the chosen people of God. Read again Titus 2:13-15. We are here bought down to the last days, when God is purifying unto Himself a peculiar people. Shall we provoke Him as did ancient Israel? Shall we bring His wrath upon us by departing from Him and mingling with the world, and following the abominations of the nations around us?" E. G. White, Testimonies, Vol. 5, 283.

How Does Laodicea Look Upon These Reproofs?

"The spirit which actuated those priests and rulers is still manifested by many who make a high profession of piety. They refuse to examine the testimony of the Scriptures concerning the special truths for this time. They point to their own numbers, wealth, and popularity, and look with contempt upon the advocates of truth as few, poor, and unpopular, having a faith that separates from the world." E. G. White, The Great Controversy, 596.
