THE SDA CHURCH––7 LAST PLAGUES––SEALING CONNECTION

THE BIBLE SAYS:

Eze 9:1 He cried also in mine ears with a loud voice, saying, Cause them that have charge over the city to draw near, even every man with his destroying weapon in his hand.

Eze 9:2 And, behold, six men came from the way of the higher gate, which lieth toward the north, and every man a slaughter weapon in his hand; and one man among them was clothed with linen, with a writer's inkhorn by his side: and they went in, and stood beside the brasen altar.

Eze 9:3 And the glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon he was, to the threshold of the house. And he called to the man clothed with linen, which had the writer's inkhorn by his side;

Eze 9:4 And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

Eze 9:5 And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity:

Eze 9:6 Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house.”

THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY SAYS:

“The command is: "Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof." These sighing, crying ones had been holding forth the words of life; they had reproved, counseled, and entreated. Some who had been dishonoring God repented and humbled their hearts before Him. But the glory of the Lord had departed from Israel; although many still continued the forms of religion, His power and presence were lacking.

In the time when His wrath shall go forth in judgments, these humble, devoted followers of Christ will be distinguished from the rest of the world by their soul anguish, which is expressed in lamentation and weeping, reproofs and warnings. While others try to throw a cloak over the existing evil, and excuse the great wickedness everywhere prevalent, those who have a zeal for God's honor and a love for souls will not hold their peace to obtain favor of any. Their righteous souls are vexed day by day with the unholy works and conversation of the unrighteous. They are powerless to stop the rushing torrent of iniquity, and hence they are filled with grief and alarm. They mourn before God to see religion despised in the very homes of those who have had great light. They lament and afflict their souls because pride, avarice, selfishness, and deception of almost every kind are in the church. The Spirit of God, which prompts to reproof, is trampled underfoot, while the servants of Satan triumph. God is dishonored, the truth made of none effect.

The class who do not feel grieved over their own spiritual declension, nor mourn over the sins of others, will be left without the seal of God. The Lord commissions His messengers, the men with slaughtering weapons in their hands: "Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity: slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at My sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house."

Here we see that the church--the Lord's sanctuary--was the first to feel the stroke of the wrath of God. (the 7 last plagues) The ancient men, those to whom God had given great light and who had stood as guardians of the spiritual interests of the people, had betrayed their trust. They had taken the position that we need not look for miracles and the marked manifestation of God's power as in former days. Times have changed. These words strengthen their unbelief, and they say: The Lord will not do good, neither will He do evil. He is too merciful to visit His people in judgment. Thus "Peace and safety" is the cry from men who will never again lift up their voice like a trumpet to show God's people their transgressions and the house of Jacob their sins. These dumb dogs that would not bark are the ones who feel the just vengeance of an offended God. Men, maidens, and little children all perish together.”  5T: 210-211

The vision on which these words of warning are based, begins with chapter 8 and goes on until the end of chapter 11. Notice these words: “Son of man, thy brethren, even thy brethren, the men of thy kindred, and all the house of Israel wholly, are they unto whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, Get you far from the Lord: unto us is this land given in possession. Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord God; Although I have cast them far off among the heathen, and although I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them as a little sanctuary in the countries where they shall come.” Verses 15, 16.

Those who reject the separation going on try to argue that according to chapter 9, those who are sealed are still within Jerusalem––the church, but they ignore the fact that at the end of the vision, in the verses above, God tells us that the members of the church will tell those who are faithful, basically, “We belong to God’s true church, you are part of an offshoot.” But they know that it is God who has called them out and separated them from the wicked, apostate church that is going to receive the 7 last plagues mentioned in chapter 9. That is why the Spirit of Prophecy tells us:  “The (sealing) angel is to place a mark upon the forehead of all who are separated from sin and sinners, (cannot seal you unless and until you are separated) and the destroying angel will follow, to slay utterly both old and young.”  5T: 505

But while that process is going on Satan is working in a mighty fashion also, and these words of inspiration tell us this:

“Oh, that all could get a view of it as God revealed it to me, that they might know more of the wiles of Satan and be on their guard! I saw that Satan was at work in these ways to distract, deceive, and draw away God's people, just now in this sealing time. I saw some who were not standing stiffly for present truth. Their knees were trembling, and their feet sliding, because they were not firmly planted on the truth, and the covering of Almighty God could not be drawn over them while they were thus trembling.

Satan was trying his every art to hold them where they were, (in the corporate, apostate, SDA church) until the sealing was past, until the covering was drawn over God's people, and they left without a shelter from the burning wrath of God, in the seven last plagues. God has begun to draw this covering over His people, and it will soon be drawn over all who are to have a shelter in the day of slaughter. God will work in power for His people; and Satan will be permitted to work also.” Early Writings 44-45

Again, we refer to these words of inspiration: “The (sealing) angel is to place a mark upon the forehead of all who are separated from sin and sinners, (cannot seal you unless and until you are separated) and the destroying angel will follow, to slay utterly both old and young.”  5T: 505

That is why God clearly tells us which is His TRUE remnant church in these inspired words:

“I saw that God has honest children among the nominal Adventists and the fallen churches, and before the plagues shall be poured out, ministers and people will be called out (being called out necessitates separation) from these churches and will gladly receive the truth. Satan knows this; and before the loud cry of the third angel is given, he raises an excitement in these religious bodies, that those who have rejected the truth may think that God is with them. He hopes to deceive the honest and lead them to think that God is still working for the churches. But the light will shine, and all who are honest will leave the fallen churches, and take their stand with the remnant.” Early Writings 261.

Speaking of ministers being called out, we read these words of inspiration: “Many will stand in our pulpits with the torch of false prophecy in their hands, kindled from the hellish torch of Satan. If doubts and unbelief are cherished the faithful ministers will be removed from the people who think they know so much.” (Isn’t that a fitting description for the Laodicean condition? Also, how about that, the faithful ministers are removed––or called out, and the unfaithful or false ministers remain in “our”––the corporate church’s pulpits.)

Now if God’s honest ministers and people are called out from the nominal Adventist church to take their stand with the remnant, then how can that church possibly be God’s true church?

Each has a decision to make––to separate in order to be sealed and find shelter from the burning wrath of God in the seven last plagues––or to let Satan deceive them (through those who are doing all they can to keep them from separating) and keep them where they are, in the corporate, apostate SDA church which is going to be the FIRST to receive the plagues of God. Can it be any simpler than that?

May the Lord help all who are earnestly seeking the truth to see these matters clearly, is my prayer.
