Why I Would Not Believe in Adventism or the Bible if I Did Not Believe in Ellen G. White and That the Veracity of Her Writings Have Been Preserved by God

“And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ:” Ephesians 4:11-13.

Dear brother Ron,

Here in Brazil we face many accusations about Ellen White, has a site  www.adventistas.ws who only speaks ill of her, including this week has an article by P. Hottman, and as here we do not have much information is hard to argue with them.

ABRs.

Maateus

Ron responds: I asked the Lord for guidance on how I should respond to this serious issue. The Lord showed me in vision the following response to Maateus (Matthew), and for that reason this is the best response you will ever read in rebuttal to ANYONE who claims that Ellen White was not a true prophet.

At first thought, by the title of this document it might appear that I am judging the Bible by Ellen G. White, but nothing could be further from the truth. I am judging the Bible by the Bible claim of Ephesians 4:11-13. God Almighty promised the gift of prophecy to His church. If there is no true body of God’s people with at least one true prophet amongst them, I would not believe the Bible! Forget Ellen G. White, if Ephesians 4:11-13 is not verifiable, God is a fake and a fraud as well!

Any person in the world who disbelieves in, and calls Ellen White a fraud, a liar but who still claims to believe the Bible and is a member of the professing Seventh-day Adventist church, is a phony coward and a very foolish virgin, if he/she cannot name another true church that has at least one true prophet in fulfillment of Ephesians 4:11-13. Such persons are foolish virgins who are wise in their own folly, because if they can’t substantiate Ephesians 4:11-13, they are dumb to pretend to believe the Bible, and God’s Word says that if they don’t believe there is a God (The God of the Bible), such a person is a fool!

Psa 14:1 [[To the chief Musician, The fool hath said in his heart, [There is] no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, [there is] none that doeth good.

Psa 53:1 The fool hath said in his heart, [There is] no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: [there is] none that doeth good.

So when you meet someone who denies the gift of prophecy via Ellen G. White, ask them if they know of another church who has another prophet they believe to be true. If they cannot do that, ask them these questions:

·       God’s Word, Ephesians 4:11-14, promises the gift of prophecy For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God.” What church has that gift of prophecy?

·       Are all who claim to be Seventh-day Adventists in full unity as to what they believe? Is the professing SDA church in complete unity?

·       Are you in unity with all SDA’s if you reject Ellen White?

·       Have all the saints been perfected yet?

·       If true Adventists don’t have the gift amongst them, how could they be the true church—the edified true body of Christ?

·       If you don’t know of a church that has the gift of prophecy amongst it, why do you believe in God and the Bible?

·       Do you know of another church that both: keeps the commandments of God and claims to have a true prophet?

·       Is it not inconsistent and cowardly to believe in the God of the Bible and Epehsians 4:11-13, and yet deny that those verses have been fulfilled?

·       Who would better fulfill the role of Ephesians 4:11-14, than Ellen G. White?

·       Have you read the defenses the church has made against the false internet claims against Ellen White?

·       Is it foolhardy not to read the defenses of Ellen White (the other side of the story), in light of all the issues presented in this document?

·       Do you believe this admonition from God’s Word: Pro 29:18 Where [there is] no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy [is] he.

·       Do you believe this admonition from God’s Word? 2Ch 20:20 And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

·       Are there a lot of cowardly foolish virgins around the world who claim to believe in the Bible, but deny the fulfillment of the Bible promise of Ephesians 4:11-13?

The only option for any rational person who denies the gift of Ellen G. White, would be agnosticism or atheism. This is the only proper and consistent option for all who don’t accept Ellen G. White as a true prophet. Why? Because if Ellen G. White is not a true prophet, the Bible is false as well! Some former SDA’s like Ronald Numbers, have been consistent, honest and brave enough to take this option. Ronald Numbers has declared himself an agnostic. https://omega77.tripod.com/speakagainstholyghost.htm

My friend Matthew, expresses what is largely the general consensus on Ellen G. White in Brazil, but nowadays, that view is quite common everywhere the world over! It seems strange to me that many members of the Adventist church remain members while rejecting Ellen White. It seems strange to me that most professing Adventists along with most Christians of the world claim to believe the Bible, and yet deny the fulfillment of Ephesians 4:11-13!

If I could not prove the fulfillment of Ephesians 4:11-13 to myself, I would not believe in the Bible or the God of the Bible! I have read widely in the writings of Ellen G. White, and I am very thankful for the better understandings of God’s Word that I have via Ellen G. White. If I did not believe in the gift of Ellen G. White, I would consider myself a fool to believe in the Bible and I would join the only honest Ellen G. White critic I know of, Dr. Ronald Numbers, in being an avowed atheist.

Most of those who don’t accept Ellen White, have played the fool in not reading the defenses against the statements they read by her critics on the Internet. Some of those very good defenses include:

Additional Consideration on this Issue

"The woman is a symbol of the church, and the remnant of the church represents the Christians of the last generation of men, living just prior to the second advent. The dragon makes war on these for keeping the commandments of God, Sabbath and all, and having the testimony of Jesus Christ, which, according to the inspired definition of chap. xix, 10, 'is the spirit of prophecy.' Here, then, are the causes of the dragon's warfare upon the remnant. They teach the observance of the ten commandments, and the revival of the gifts, and acknowledge the gift of prophecy among them. When the Devil got one foot upon the fourth commandment, and the other upon the gifts planted in the Christian church by Jesus Christ, then his satanic majesty was filled with revengeful delight. But when the remnant, whom God designs to fit for translation to Heaven without seeing death, 'ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein,' then the dragon is wroth, and makes war on them.

The true spirit of the dragonic host, which is already being somewhat developed, is vividly described in Isa. xxx, 8-13, as being manifested just prior to the sudden destruction of those who hate the pure testimony, and love smooth and deceitful things." E. G. White, Spiritual Gifts, Vol. III, 26, 27.

“And it has been granted to her that she be dressed in bright, clean fine linen (for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints).” Revelation 19:8.

9 And he said to me, “Write: Blessed are those who are invited to the banquet of the wedding celebration of the Lamb!” And he said to me, “These are the true words of God.” 10 And I fell down before his feet to worship him, and he said to me, “Do not do that![d] I am a fellow slave of you and of your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” Revelation 19:9.

Ephesians 4

 11And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

12For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

13Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

1 Corinthians 14

1Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.

2For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

3But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.

4He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.

5I would that ye all spake with tongues but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.

6Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine?

7And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped?

8For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?

9So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air.

10There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification.

11Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me.

12Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church.

13Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret.

14For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.

15What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.

16Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest?

17For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.

18I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:

19Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.

20Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.

21In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.

22Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.

23If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?

24But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all:

25And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.

26How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.

27If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.

28But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.

29Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.

30If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace.

31For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.

32And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.

33For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

34Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law.

35And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

36What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?

37If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.

38But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.

39Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.

40Let all things be done decently and in order.

1 Corinthians 12

1Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.

2Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led.

3Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

4Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.

5And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.

6And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.

7But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

 8For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

 9To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

10To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

11But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

12For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

13For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

14For the body is not one member, but many.

15If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?

16And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?

17If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?

18But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.

19And if they were all one member, where were the body?

20But now are they many members, yet but one body.

21And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.

22Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary:

23And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.

24For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked.

25That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.

26And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.

27Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

28And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

29Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?

30Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?

31But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.

Note: We are admonished to covet the best gifts and to covet to prophesy.

39Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.

Also, I would like to demonstrate how some folk go very wrong by not understanding certain aspects of Scripture and the Spirit of Prophecy. In Revelation 3:10-12, Philadelphia is promised she will be kept from the hour of trouble that is to come upon the whole world. How will the members of the original church of Philadelphia, circa A.D. 1, be alive to be preserved during the greatest time of trouble at the end-time? The following document answers what some regard as the disparity in Ellen White’s “food for worms” statement. https://omega77.tripod.com/houroftemptation.htm
