Martin Eldon's Classic Error on the Godhead Exposed

Click to go to our Home Page

Dear Reader,

Martin Eldon is teaching a group of independent Seventh-day Adventists, that the only Almighty God is the Father. He teaches that Christ is not equal and coeval with the Father. This is in direct contravention to Scripture and Ellen White.

I received the following response from Martin Eldon, after I posted Revelation 22:12, 13, to refute his contention that Jesus was not equal with the Father in deity.

Dear Ron,

When the bible says "Which is, which was, and which is to
come"..
Which is to come means FUTURE. This description describes a
being that is ETERNAL, that has never died, nor will ever die. It is
the FATHER.

Revelation 22:12 is Jesus, Revelation 22:13 is GOD speaking.

When GOD speaks (vs 13), Jesus responds telling us that we should
KEEP the Alpha's commandments vs 14. As I have showed you over and
over again, only the FATHER is called Alpha and Omega in the bible.

Ron Beaulieu's Response: Proof Perfect That Martin Eldon is Errant on the Godhead

Martin,

You say that it is God the Father speaking in Revelation 22:13. This means that God it is God who is referring to Himself as the Alpha and the Omega as well as "the first and the last." Take a read of Revelation 1:8:

"I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, (the first and the last) saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and is to come, the Almighty." Revelation 1:8.

Unmistakably, verse 5 establishes Jesus as the speaker:

"And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood:" Rev. 1:5.

Martin, you said that the words "first and last" in Revelation 22:13, refers to one who has never died, nor will ever die. You also said these words refer only to the FATHER.

Revelation 1:7-18, includes all of the following titles as applied to Christ: ALPHA AND OMEGA, THE GEGINNING AND THE ENDING, THE ALMIGHTY (VERSE 8); THE ALPHA AND OMEGA, THE FIRST AND THE LAST (VERSE 11); THE FIRST AND THE LAST (VERSE17); HE THAT LIVETH, AND WAS DEAD) VERSE 18.

You further say Martin: "When the bible says "Which is, which was, and which is to
come"..
Which is to come means FUTURE. This description describes a being that is ETERNAL, that has never died, nor will ever die. It is the FATHER."

The problem with the words "Which is to come" applying to the Father, is that it is not the Father who is to come. It is the Son who is to come.

So let us now focus on Revelation 1:17, 18:

"And when I [John] saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am he that liveth, AND WAS DEAD; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death."

Martin, you said that "first and last" designates one who has never died. You said in application to Revelation 22:12, 13, that the words ALPHA AND OMEGA, always apply to THE FATHER. Revelation 1:8, 11, prove you wrong. You have just been proven 1000% WRONG. Will you admit it? .

You are an errant teacher Martin. (Martin is the Pastor of an independent church group that professes to believe like the pioneer SDAs on the Godhead).

Now lets go to Rev. 1:11: "Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia:"

Here we have Jesus saying I am the Alpha and Omega, the first and the last." So you now have proof that the words "first and last" do not apply just to the Father, who never died.

For more confirmation on who is speaking, go to verse 12, 13: "And I turned to see the voice that spake with me....And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle."

This is that same man in Linen (Christ) in Ezekiel 9. When the High Priest put off the Linen garment on the Day of Atonement, he donned a golden one.

Did Jesus Refer to Himself as the Almighty God?

Rev 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

I have already proven that the Speaker in Revelation 1 is Jesus Christ.

Rev 4:8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about [him]; and [they were] full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.

Which Lord is to come? We know that Lord is Jesus Christ!

Rev 11:17 Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.

Rev 15:3 And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous [are] thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true [are] thy ways, thou King of saints.
