Dear Reader, There is a grassroots movement afoot
amongst some members in the professing Seventh-day Adventist church that is
praying for a global, revival outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the church and
its members. In light of Ellen White’s statements regarding a primitive
revival of godliness in all churches at the end-time, it is imperative that
we have a correct understanding of what will be involved in the true
outpouring of the Holy Spirit at the end-time, lest we be taken in by
spurious revivals which Ellen White said would go from bad to worse. First, we will review the general statement
of Operation Global Rain. Here is their Website, and I have printed their
statement of their general goal: “An amazing and perhaps prophetic movement
is under way,” below their Website address: http://www.operationglobalrain.com/ Here is Operation Global Rain’s general statement
of their quest. I will insert some commentary under some of the paragraphs. An amazing and perhaps prophetic movement is under way.
It is called Operation Global Rain. It
started when a few churches in Central California decided to hold a 10-day prayer
event after the model of the early church found in Acts 2. There were no
keynote speakers, but rather a group of disciples pleading for nothing
else but the outpouring of the latter rain. Every night from 7 to 8
pm, a theme sheet with Bible verses and S.O.P. quotes was presented. We read
these privately and then prayed, sometimes silently, other times in groups of
two, and others as a congregation. Ron’s Commentary: Notice their
own words that they are a group pleading “for nothing else,” but the outpouring
of the latter rain. The embolden letters and underlining emphasis is theirs.
Their own statement is that they are praying ONLY for the outpouring of the
latter rain. Remember that when we consider the requirements for receiving
the latter rain. End comment. Though done at separate times, the churches
all experienced revival. Animosity was laid aside and a true spirit of unity,
repentance and mission took hold of the members. The idea then came about:
What if all the churches in the conference were to petition the throne of God
at the same time , for the same thing, the outpouring of the
Latter Rain? The idea was presented to one conference
just a week ago (January, 07) and has become a reality. Last year, a great
deal was made about the date 6.06.06. A popular movie about the antichrist
was released on that date, and underground satanic movements glorified the
day. This year is 7.07.07! And it happens to be a Sabbath. The date for
Operation Global Rain will be 6.27.07 to 7.07.07! But the vision of Operation Global Rain is
much larger. Imagine all the churches of California petitioning the throne of
God, at the same time for the same thing. Then, imagine all the churches in
North America petitioning the throne of God at the same time, for the same thing.
And then imagine the entire global church praying at the same time for the
same thing, the outpouring of the latter rain!! Hence, Operation Global
Rain! Ron’s Commentary: Notice one
again, the quest is for all SDA churches globally to pray for the same thing,
only the outpouring of the latter rain. There is no mention of repentance for
sin and the gross apostasies of the church, as though God will pour out His
Holy Spirit upon churches and people who are immersed in apostasy. On their
Website, they do deal a bit more with the need for repentance but there is
not SPECIFIC MENTION of the sins that need to be repented of and we are to
sigh and cry for ALL the ABOMINATIONS and put them out of our lives. How,
pray tell, can one repent of abominations if he/she is not informed of those
abominations? Ellen White said that we are to be specific in repenting for
sin. End comment. This is a grassroots movement that needs
your participation. By word of mouth, by email, and any other means, we need
your help to spread the word. A website is currently being built for
Operation Global Rain, where churches will be able to register, and download
each nights theme sheet. IT WILL BE LIKE A NET EVENT without the cost of
satellite uplinks or keynote speakers! We close with this eye opening thought. The
early rain was poured out on all that were praying for it. But
that was only a total of about 120, who were all in one location, Jerusalem.
Now, what if people around the globe were praying for
the outpouring of the latter rain? If God were to be so
gracious as to answer, where would that rain fall? Where would that Spirit
descend? Would it not lighten the entire globe with its glory? Is
this not what has been prophesied to happen according to Revelation 18:1-4? Ron’s
Commentary: Notice the words: “The early rain was poured out on all that were praying for it.” There are many who are praying for the
outpouring of the Holy Spirit. When the SDA church leaders implemented the
Celebration Movement, they were praying that it would be the means of the
outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Even the General Conference President, Robert
S. Folkenberg, who oversaw its implementation, said that we must wait and
see, for it might be the manifestation of the Holy Spirit. Was he right?
The Celebration Movement has been a blasphemous disaster for the church,
with entire churches leaving the conference. Is that the working of the Latter
Rain Holy Spirit? End comment. Please prayerfully consider these two
quotes from the S.O.P. and the two bible verses below. An Awakened Church.--When we have entire, wholehearted
consecration to the service of Christ, God will recognize the
fact by an outpouring of His Spirit without measure; but this will not
be while the largest portion of the church are not laborers together with God.--Review
and Herald, July 21, 1896. The prophecies in the eighteenth of
Revelation will soon be fulfilled. During the proclamation of the third
angel's message, "another angel" is to "come down from heaven,
having great power" and the earth is to be "lightened with His
glory." The Spirit of the Lord will so graciously and universally
bless consecrated human instrumentalities, that men, women, and children will
open their lips in praise and testimony, filling the earth with the knowledge
of God and with His unsurpassed glory, as the waters cover the sea.
{2MR 21.3} Ron’s Commentary: Notice the
qualifying words of Ellen White: “When we have the entire, wholehearted
consecration to the service of Christ God will recognize the fact by an
outpouring of His Spirit without measure; but this will not be while
the largest portion of the church are not laborers together with God.” Would this be when the majority
of the church is engaged is strictly forbidden acts of apostasy? Can you
begin to see that this will never happen to the corporate church militant body?
The church militant is constituted of wheat and tares and now THORNS, open
sinners. Can the Holy Spirit be poured out on the entire SDA church militant?
Do the tares and thorns get the Latter Rain outpouring as well? Lights should
begin to turn on regarding the truth of the situation! End comment. If I shut up heaven that there be no
rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send
pestilence among my people; If my people, which are called by my name,
shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from
their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin,
and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:13-14 Ron’s Commentary: The embolden
emphasis is theirs, not mine. Notice that they did not embolden the words
“turn from their wicked ways. That is exactly what would have to happen for ANY OF US to receive the
Latter Rain Holy Spirit. Since that is obviously one of the CONDITIONS, it
should be focused on and emphasized, but they did not do so. The open sins of
the church would have to be confessed, repented for, ceased, and then God
would heal their land, the church. End comment. Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call
a solemn assembly: Gather the people, sanctify the congregation,
assemble the elders, gather the children…Then will the LORD be jealous for
his land, and pity his people…Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice
in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and
he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter
rain in the first month." Joel 2:15,16,18,23. Ron’s Commentary: Notice they
did not embolden the words sanctify the congregation. Remember, they are
praying ONLY for the outpouring of the Latter Rain. Sanctifying the congregation
would include the putting away of the apostasy in the church, but these folk
are obviously such “well intentioned” surface readers and Laodicean in
spirit, that they probably aren’t even aware of the apostasy of and in the
church, but does God excuse such ignorance? Nay! Why? Because they refuse to
dig for hidden treasure truth themselves, and they reject and try to hinder
those who do. I happen to know of some very sincere and deep diggers in the
mine of truth who have recently been removed from SDA internet forums for
sharing their knowledge. End comment. Nothing like this has happened in Adventist
history except the 1840-44 movement. We are told it will happen again. Ron’s Commentary: The 1840-44
movement involved the Philadelphia church era which God does not fault for
one wrong thing in His message to Philadelphia, Revelation 3. Philadelphia is
true Zion, the bride of Jesus Christ. She is without fault. Is this true of
Laodicea? Ellen White said that Laodicea is the foolish virgins state of the
church and that the presence of God, let along the outpouring of His Holy
Spirit, is not in that church. "The state
of the Church represented by the foolish virgins, is also spoken of as the
Laodicean state." E.G. White, Review
and Herald, 8/19/1890. "The church
is in the Laodicean state. The presence of God is not in her midst."
E.G. White, Notebook Leaflets, p.
99, 1898. "To the end
of time, the presence of the Spirit is to abide with the
true church." E.G. White, Acts
of the Apostles, p. 55. “From the
beginning, faithful souls have constituted the church on earth. In every age the Lord has had His watchmen,
who have borne a faithful testimony to the generation in which they
lived. These sentinels gave the
message of warning; and when they were called to lay off their armor, others
took up the work. God brought these
witnesses into covenant relation with Himself, uniting the church on earth
with the church in heaven. He has sent
forth His angels to minister to His church, and the gates of hell have
not been able to prevail against His people.” E.G. White, The Acts of the Apostles, p. 12. The gates of
hell will not prevail against faithful souls--obviously. "The
members of the church triumphant--the church in heaven--will be permitted to draw
near to the members of the church militant, to aid them in their
necessity." E. G. White, The
Southern Watchman, Sep. 8, 1903. You know friend,
God said that His people perish for a lack of knowledge: Hsa 4:6 My
people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected
knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me:
seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy
children. Not only do they
have a lack of knowledge, for lack of “selling all to buy the field to search
as for hidden treasure,” but when it is presented to them on a golden
platter, they reject knowledge. Is that not what apostate Israel did? Surely,
and Ellen White said there would be a modern day counterpart to ancient
Israel. Also, notice
that the verse says they have forgotten the law of God. Ezekiel 5 says that
they break it more than all other nations (world churches)! That is serious.
How do they do that? By knowing truth and then REJECTING IT. That makes one
worse than Babylon. Now keep in mind
that the Global Rain Movement is praying ONLY for the outpouring of the
Latter Rain Holy Spirit. Sure, they quote Ellen White’s statements that
mention the latter rain, primarily because of those specific words, but their
emphasis is clearly not on the repentance parts as is indicated by the words
they embolden. The angel who unites in the proclamation of
the third message is to lighten the whole earth with his glory.
A work of world-wide extent and unwonted power is here brought to view.
The Advent movement of 1840-44 was a glorious manifestation of
the power of God; the first message was carried to every missionary station
in the world, and in this country there was the greatest religious interest
which has been witnessed in any land since the Reformation of the sixteenth
century; but these are to be far exceeded by the mighty movement
under the loud cry of the third message. The work will be
similar to that of the day of Pentecost. Servants of God, with their
faces lighted up and shining with holy consecration, hasten from place to
place to proclaim the warning from Heaven. By thousands of voices, all
over the earth, the message will be given. Miracles are wrought, the
sick are healed, and signs and wonders follow the believers. Satan also works
with lying wonders, even bringing down fire from heaven in the sight of men.
Thus the inhabitants of the earth are brought to take their stand.
{4SP 429.2} Ron’s Commentary: The angel who
unites in the proclamation of the third message and who is to lighten the
whole earth with his glory, engaging A work of world-wide
extent and unwonted power is here brought to view,” is faithful
souls who sorely repent of sin, sigh and cry for all the abominations of the
church, and constitute a little company who ARE NOT MEMBERS OF THE CHURCH
when the danger to the church is greatest, the time of the National Sunday
Law. Notice: "I was shown that the THIRD ANGEL, proclaiming the
commandments of God and the faith of Jesus, represents the PEOPLE who receive
this message and raise the voice in warning to the world." Testimonies for the Church, vol. 1,
77. "I then saw the THIRD ANGEL. Said my accompanying angel,
'Fearful is his work. Awful is his mission. He is the angel that is to
select the wheat from the tares, and seal, or bind, the wheat for the
heavenly garner." E.G. White, Early
Writings, 118. "The angel represented in
prophecy as delivering this message, symbolizes a class of faithful men, who obedient to
the promptings of God's Spirit and the teachings of his word, proclaim this
warning to the inhabitants of earth. This message WAS NOT to be committed to
the religious leaders of the people." E.. White, The Spirit of Prophecy, Vol. 4, 199, 200. Third Angel—“No one hears the voice
of these angels, for they are a symbol to represent the people of God who are
working in harmony with the universe of heaven. Men and women, enlightened by the Spirit
of God and sanctified through the truth, proclaim the three messages in their
order.” E.G. White, Selected Messages, Bk. 2, p. 387. "God calls for a spiritual revival and a spiritual
reformation. Unless this takes place, those who are lukewarm will
continue to grow more abhorrent to the Lord, until He will refuse to acknowledge
them as His children. A revival and a reformation must take place, under the
ministration of the Holy Spirit" (Review
and Herald, Feb. 25, 1902). You
might already know these statements friend, but don’t take that knowledge for
granted, because many SDA’s don’t know them and will perish because of their
indolence in not learning them. I said
that those who receive the latter rain will not be MEMBERS of the church. Now
I will prove that: "The leaven if godliness has not entirely lost its power. At
the time when the danger and depression of the church are greatest, the
little company who are standing in the light will be sighing and crying for
the abominations that are done in the land. But MORE ESPECIALLY will their
prayers arise in behalf of the church because ITS MEMBERS are doing after the
manner of the world." Testimonies,
vol. 5, 209, 210. Obviously, if those standing in the light were MEMBERS of the
church, they would be doing after the manner of the world as well. And
remember, this is “at the time when the danger and depression of the church
are greatest! This is the time after the National Sunday Law. Would you like more evidence? Of course, and it is available.
Character takes time to develop and that is why the foolish virgins are without
the oil of grace in their flagons. That oil of grace is the character instill
by the Holy Spirit. But here is what the church will be doing JUST BEFORE THE
CLOSE OF PROBATION. This statement was a prophesied description of the
Celebration Movement in the SDA church: "The things you have described as taking place in Indiana,
the Lord has shown me would take place just
before the close of probation. Every
uncouth thing will be demonstrated. There will be shouting, with
drums, music, and dancing. The senses of rational beings will become so
confused that they cannot be trusted to make right decisions. And this is
called the moving of the Holy Spirit. The Holy
Spirit never reveals itself in such methods, in such a bedlam of noise. This is
an invention of Satan to cover up his ingenious methods for making of none
effect the pure, sincere, elevating, ennobling, sanctifying truth for this
time. Better never have the worship of God blended with music, than to use
musical instruments to do the work which last January was represented to me
would be brought into our camp meetings. The truth for this time needs
nothing of this kind in its work of converting souls. A bedlam of noise
shocks the senses and perverts that which if conducted aright might be a
blessing. The powers of satanic
agencies blend with the din and noise, to have a carnival, and this is termed
the Holy Spirit's working." E. G. White, Selected Messages, Vol. 2, 36. End comment. Would you call a friend, talk to your pastors,
forward this message and have your church be a part of this global
petitioning of the God of heaven. It may be that He will hear us and
fit us to give that final message to the world with power. May God bless you
as we hasten the coming of the Lord!!! Ron’s Commentary: The SDA Church will not give the final Loud Cry
of the third angel’s message to the world. God will not use an apostate
church to do that and neither would an apostate church aspire to the mission.
The church has already watered down the three angel’s message by the act of
one of its General Conference Presidents, Neal C. Wilson, saying to a Federal
Court in California: "Although it is true that there was a
period in the life of the Seventh-day Adventist Church when the denomination
took a distinctly anti-Roman Catholic viewpoint...that attitude on the
church's part was nothing more than a manifestation of widespread anti-popery
among conservative Protestant denominations in the early part of this century
and the latter part of the last, and which has now been consigned to the historical trash heap so far as the
Seventh-day Adventist Church is concerned." (Neal C. Wilson, past
president of the Seventh-day Adventist General Conference, Court Transcript
of United States vs the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Equal Employment
Opportunity Commission vs the Pacific Press Publishing Association and the
General Conference, Reply Brief for Defendants, p 4, Civil Case #74-2025 CBR,
presided over by Judge Charles B. Renfrew, U.S. District Court, San
Francisco, California, 1974-1975.) The three angel’s message is that Babylon, Rome
and her daughters have fallen. The above statement is a total betrayal of the
mission and commission to the Seventh-day Adventist church, and it has never
been repented of. Vance Ferrell, a resigned SDA minister, has
testified that the church has conspired to make secret agreements with the
World Council of Churches and/or its subsidiaries, to go easy on the “beast”
message and the Sabbath issue. That is a betrayal of sacred trust. Will God
use such a church to give the final message? Who will give the final message?
It will go not by might, nor by power, but by God’s Spirit: Zec 4:6 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This [is] the
word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by
power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts. The literal 144,000 will vanguard the giving of
the message. They are not corrupted by women, fallen churches, and according
to Isaiah 4:1-4, all formally organized churches at the end-time, symbolized
by the words “seven women,” God’s all inclusive number (and women symbolizes
churches in Scripture) will be doing their own thing and that must of necessity
include the SDA church militant. Friend, we have come full circle to Part 1 of this study by
concluding it with a repeat of God’s pronouncement on the issue at hand: Son of man, say unto her, Thou [art] the land that is not cleansed, nor rained upon in the day of
indignation. Eze 22:24
You can bank on God’s Word friend. Ezekiel is speaking to Jerusalem,
the SDA church, modern spiritual Jerusalem, for God and Ellen White said that
ALL of the ancient prophets wrote more for our time than for the Jews of old.
The apostate SDA church will not be cleansed, nor receive the outpouring of
the Latter Rain in God’s day of indignation, beginning with the National
Sunday Law.
