Serious
Errors of Vance Ferrell and Robert Sessler and
Followers on the Godhead
“Men could
learn of the unknown through the known; heavenly things were revealed through the
earthly; God was made manifest in the likeness of men. So it was in Christ's
teaching: the unknown
was illustrated by the known; divine truths by earthly things with which
the people were most familiar." {COL 17.1} Click to go to our Home Page

An acquaintance of
mine who follows the teaching of Robert Sessler and
followers on the Godhead opined:
The Word of God,
like the character of its divine Author, presents mysteries that can never be
fully comprehended by finite beings. The entrance of sin into the world, the
incarnation of Christ, regeneration, the resurrection, and many other subjects
presented in the Bible, are mysteries too deep for the human mind to explain
{CSA 46.3}
Now, of the human:
He "was made in the likeness of men: and being found in fashion as a man,
he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death." He voluntarily
assumed human nature. It was His own act, and by His
own consent. He clothed His divinity with
humanity. He was all the while as God, but He
did not appear as God. He veiled the
demonstrations of Deity, which had commanded the homage, and called
forth the admiration, of the universe of God. He was God while upon earth, but He divested Himself of the form of God, and in
its stead took the form and fashion of a man. He walked the earth as a man. For
our sakes He became poor, that we through His poverty
might be made rich. He laid aside His glory and His majesty. He was God, but the glories of the form of God He for a while
relinquished. Though He walked among men in poverty, scattering His
blessings wherever He went, at His word legions of angels would surround their
Redeemer, and do Him homage. But He walked the earth unrecognized, unconfessed,
with but few exceptions, by His creatures. The atmosphere was polluted with sin
and curses, in place of the anthem of praise. His lot was poverty and
humiliation. As He passed to and fro upon His mission of mercy to relieve the
sick, to lift up the depressed, scarce a solitary voice called Him blessed, and
the very greatest of the nation passed Him by with disdain. {5BC 1126.8}
If the “glories
were relinquished for a while” then it doesn’t seem that there was an eternal
sacrifice here for sin? 4T 384, The Judgment, describes the sacrifice on the cross as:
“My love for
you has been more self-denying than a mother's love. It was that I might blot
out your dark record of iniquity, and put the
cup of salvation to your lips, that I suffered the death of the cross,
bearing the weight and curse of your guilt. The pangs of death, and the horrors
of the darkness of the tomb, I endured, that I might conquer him who had the
power of death, unbar the prison house, and open for you the gates of life. I
submitted to shame and agony because I loved you with an infinite love, and
would bring back my wayward, wandering sheep to the paradise of God, to the tree of life.” {4T 387.1}
So from the above
my understanding is that the cross was the complete sacrifice because it put
the cup of salvation to our lips and led us back to the tree of life. Why
hasn’t Jesus here mentioned another sacrifice at the Incarnation?
How can I be
condemned Ron for a lack of understanding about a mystery that our finite minds
can NEVER fully comprehend? I fully agree with you that the Godhead is a pillar
foundational doctrine as far as the Trinity version goes with regard to the New
Movement. However I understand a simpler version of events in regard to the
Omega Apostasy which I discussed with Brian once. Perhaps you could comment on
it. I’ll paste it below.
Signed_____________.
ATONEMENT GONE??? Yes it is GONE because the Pope under the Trinity
Doctrine stands in place of Jesus,
hence NO Jesus ,NO sacrifice on the cross therfore
NO ATONEMENT!!!!
WHO
CAN FORGIVE SINS?? The Bible says God ALONE! However if you are a Seventh Day
Adventist in the Harlot Conference your 2nd FUNDAMENTAL belief is the Trinity.
Hence the Pope now forgives your sins:
"The
Priest does really and truly forgive the sins in virtue of the power given him
by Christ" Joseph Deharbe, S.J: A Complete
Catechism of the Catholic Religion p 279.
AND...
SANCTUARY GONE???: Under the Trinity Doctrine it is now the priest or the Pope
who forgives the sins and not Jesus who is our mediator in the Heavenly
Sanctuary. Those who believe the Trinity Doctrine don't need Jesus in
the heavenly SANCTUARY, "the priest
(Pope) can forgive their sins"!!!!!!!
So
NOW in the OMEGA of apostasy by the SDA HARLOT
of 1903, where PANTHEISM was the ALPHA apostasy, we now have the SDA united
under the TRINITY DOCTRINE which means ATONEMENT GONE: Jesus replaced by the
Vicar of Christ whether this be the Pope of Rome or the Kingly Power of the
Pope of the SDA, President Ted Wilson! and
SANCTUARY GONE: the priest or Pope can forgive the sins, no need for Jesus on
the Mercy Seat in the Most Holy Place!!
Ron’s
response:
“Truly, Ellen White
says that there are mysteries to the Godhead that we will be learning
throughout eternity, but that does not preclude an understanding of what we are
clearly told [THE KNOWN] by Ellen White, and I have done no more or less than
demonstrate the "apparent unknown" from the known that Ellen White very clearly states. We were given the
license to reason together. That would include deductive reasoning.
Two Sacrifices—The
Incarnation and the Cross
"The
darkness rolled away from the Saviour and from the Cross. Christ bowed His head
and died. In His Incarnation He had reached the prescribed
limit as a sacrifice, but not as a redeemer." E.G. White Manuscript Releases Volume Twelve, p. 409.
I once told you the
Sanctuary Service in Scripture and Ellen White’s statement that the Incarnation
reached the prescribed limit as a sacrifice would be your Waterloo (undoing) on
the Godhead issue. The pope could not die for man’s sins. He was not the
Testator. The Sanctuary Service teaches that a sacrificial Lamb was to come and
that Lamb was Jesus. No blood of animals could atone for man’s sin. Any breach
of the Law (the transcript of Christ’s character) would have to be atoned for
by the Testator of the Law and Ellen White said that the Son delivered the law
on Mt. Sinai with the Father. The Testator had to die to something eternally,
because the wages of sin is eternal death for us.
So your scenario does
not literally parallel the Sanctuary Service in that the Pope was not the Testator nor the sacrificial lamb to come and He was
not the Testator of the law at Sinai.
Ellen White said that
in His Incarnation, the Son had reached the prescribed limit as a sacrifice.
That prescribed limit was death to His former DIVINE ONLY LIFE to become
forever combined with humanity. That was like a forever death sacrifice in
payment for the wages of sin. But the redeeming act of taking those sins upon Himself, just as the penitent person’s sins were placed on
the sacrificial lamb in the courtyard just before it was slain, took place just
before and on the Cross in the case of Christ our redeemer. The pope never
qualified as the Testator nor did he ever die to anything eternally. So he does
not fit the pattern of the Sanctuary Service involving the Incarnation of
Christ sacrifice and the redemption atoning act on the cross.
What was the
prescribed limit as a sacrifice according to Scripture?
Hbr 9:16 For where a testament [is], there must also of necessity be
the death of the testator.
Hbr 9:17 For a testament [is] of force after men are dead: otherwise
it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.
"The
Incarnation of Christ was an act of self-sacrifice; His life was one of continual self-denial. The highest glory of the love of God to man was manifested in the
sacrifice of His only-begotten Son, who was the express image of His person.
This is the great mystery of godliness. It is the privilege and the
duty of every professed follower of Christ to have the mind of Christ. Without
self-denial and cross bearing we cannot be His disciples." E.G. White, Selected Messages, Book 2, p. 185.
We have the mind of
Christ by way of the Incarnation whereby He sacrificed His Divine ONLY nature
as “the highest good, crowing gift that heaven can bestow.” That is the cure
for sin, whereas the cross was the pardon for sin—the redemption from sin.
2Pe 1:4 Whereby are
given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be
partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the
world through lust.
Your view as given to
Brian is a good partial and secondary, but very incomplete scenario. I say
secondary and incomplete because it is not directly
related to the Incarnation sacrifice of
the Testator and what transpired THEN. The pope was not the Testator. The
Testator had to die to something eternally and He did. The Pope never met the
prescribed limit of a sacrifice—eternal death to the past DIVINE ONLY BEING of
the Testator, for while He liveth the sacrifice is of no strength. That is the
only thing the Testator, the Son of God, died to eternally.
Death by way of three
days and nights in a tomb do not constitute the prescribed limits of a
sacrifice of the Testator for while He is alive the testament is of no
strength. If Christ had not died to something eternally, the prescribed limit
of a sacrifice would not have been met and there would be no Sanctuary
service—no Atonement in the Sanctuary above which is where the Incarnation took
place.
He then bequeathed
what He died to us--HIS DIVINE NATURE HOLY SPIRIT. The Trinity Doctrine
precludes this sacrifice by teaching that the Holy Spirit existed forever AS A
THIRD PERSON. Thus, NO SANCTUARY, NO ATONEMENT MADE BY THE TESTATOR. This
touches the very necessary Sanctuary Service in Heaven of which the earthly was
a schoolteacher.”
"In Christ's parable teaching the
same principle is seen as in His own mission to the world. That we might become
acquainted with His divine character and life, Christ took our nature and dwelt
among us. Divinity was revealed in humanity; the invisible glory in the visible
human form. Men could learn of the unknown through the known; heavenly things
were revealed through the earthly; God was made manifest in the likeness of
men. So it was in Christ's teaching: the unknown was illustrated by the known;
divine truths by earthly things with which the people were most familiar."
{COL 17.1}
“The Word of God, like
the character of its divine Author, presents mysteries that can never be fully
comprehended by finite beings. The entrance of sin into the world, the
incarnation of Christ, regeneration, the resurrection, and many other subjects
presented in the Bible, are mysteries too deep for the human mind to explain”
{CSA 46.3}
Indeed, we cannot explain all the mysteries of
the Godhead for Ellen White said we will be learning those mysteries for
eternity. But we can explain what we have been told in Scripture and by Ellen
White. And that is all I have proposed to do.
Now for this part:
Now, of the human:
He "was made in the likeness of men: and being found in fashion as a man,
he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death." He voluntarily
assumed human nature. It was His own act, and by His own consent. He clothed His divinity with humanity. He was
all the while as God, but He did not appear as
God. He veiled the demonstrations of
Deity, which had commanded the homage, and called forth the admiration,
of the universe of God.
As He passed to and fro upon His mission of mercy to relieve the
sick, to lift up the depressed, scarce a solitary voice called Him blessed, and
the very greatest of the nation passed Him by with disdain. {5BC 1126.8}
submitted to shame and agony because I loved you with an infinite love, and
would bring back my wayward, wandering sheep to the paradise of God, to the tree of life.” {4T 387.1}
So from the above
my understanding is that the cross was the complete sacrifice because it put
the cup of salvation to our lips and led us back to the tree of life. Why
hasn’t Jesus here mentioned another sacrifice at the Incarnation?
Ron responds:
Scripture does not use
the word incarnation. However, Scripture does teach the Sanctuary Service, and
the Testator Everlasting Covenant; that the Testator must die and the Testator
was Divinity and Divinity did not die on the cross. So if Divinity did not die
in some facet, then there has been no Sanctuary Atonement in the heavenly
Sanctuary. Ellen White clearly states that Divinity did not die on the cross.
It was humanity that died and humanity cannot atone for humanity. The Biblical
prescribed limit is that the Testator who was DIVINE ONLY when He made the
Testament of the Everlasting Covenant, to die to something FOREVER. He died to
His Holy Spirit Divine Nature ONLY (Being—existence) to become combined
(allied) to humanity forever. That was a forever death to His former state of
being. That met the prescribed limit of a sacrifice (of the Testator’s
Testament) BEFORE THE CROSS.
The Bible teaches that
the Son of Man must come in the likeness of sinful man. It teaches that the
Holy Ghost impregnated Mary with the Son of God—Jesus Christ. These events
could not have transpired without the Incarnation sacrifice.
What is the GLORY which
for awhile He relinquished? Did He enjoy this GLORY while on earth? I have
explained this before, but I will do it again. There are many verses in the
Bible that mention the glory of God, but I will take one from the Old Testament
and one from the New. The first is from Exodus 16:7. If you will use this Bible
tool http://bible.worthwhile.com/bible.php?b=gen&c=1&v=0&d=1&w=0
and click on the word glory in both
verses, you will get the meanings I post below:
7 And in the morning, then ye shall see the glory of the LORD; for that he heareth your murmurings against the LORD: and what are we, that ye murmur against us?

These definitions say
nothing about Christ getting back His Holy Spirit ONLY DIVINE NATURE EXISTENCE!
That sacrifice is intact FOREVER because His humanity is linked to His Divinity
FOREVER and will never again STAND ALONE BY AND OF ITSELF AS THE HOLY SPIRIT OF
THE SON OF GOD. That past, pre-Incarnation state of Being
is now the Holy Ghost, the soul of the life of Christ, but a separate and
distinct person from His humanity.
We find that the glories
Christ for awhile relinquished were magnificence, excellence, pre-eminence,
dignity, grace, majesty. He will appear in all the brightness of these glories
which will slay unrepentant man when He comes. This same glory (brightness of
light—majesty) shone above the Ark of the Covenant in the Sanctuary. These
glories have nothing to do with the Son’s emptying Himself of His Divine ONLY
nature forever as a gift to us. Somehow, Jesus will come in the majesty of
Glory He had before His Incarnation into humanity, but He is still combined
with humanity forever and that is the sacrifice. Apparently that humanity will
still cumber the life of His Divine Nature Holy Spirit ONLY Being
which He consisted of before His Incarnation, and that is what Ellen White
defines as heaven’s greatest good, crowing gift that heaven can bestow upon
man. That is the cure for sin, while the cross provided the pardon from sin but
not the cure. But of course, these two sacrifices were very closely linked
together.
"Cumbered with humanity Christ could not
be in every place personally, therefore it was altogether for their advantage
that He should leave them to go to His Father and send the Holy Spirit to be
His successor on earth. The Holy Spirit is Himself divested of the personality
of humanity and independent thereof. He would represent Himself as present in
all places by His Holy Spirit.” E.G. White, (Manuscript Releases Volume 14
(No’s 1081-1135) MR No. 1084.
Eternal Sacrifice Divine Soul ONLY (State of Being)
"The apostle
would call our attention from ourselves to the Author of our salvation. He
presents before us His two natures, divine and human. . . . He voluntarily
assumed human nature. It was His own act, and by His own consent. He clothed
His divinity with humanity. He was all the while as God, but He did not appear
as God. He veiled the demonstrations of Deity which had commanded the homage,
and called forth the admiration of the universe of God. He was God while upon

made rich. He laid aside His glory and His majesty. He was God, but the glories of the form of God He for
awhile relinquished. . . . He bore the sins of the world, and endured the
penalty which rolled like a mountain upon His divine soul. He yielded up His
life a sacrifice, that man should not eternally die.
He died, not through being compelled to die, but by His own free will."
E.G. White, SDA Bible Commentary, Vol. 7a, p. 446.

"Christ declared that after his
ascension, he would send to his church, as his crowning gift, the Comforter,
who was to take his place. This Comforter is the Holy
Spirit,--the soul of his life, the efficacy of his church, the light and life of the
world. With his Spirit Christ sends a reconciling influence and a power that
takes away sin.

As of this date, January 30, 2011, I have
searched all of Vance Ferrell’s statements on the Godhead and he does not
include the above statement while he brags that he gives a greater number of
Spirit of Prophecy statements than any other ministry. Then he leaves out one
that is the crux of the truth on the pillar doctrine of the Sanctuary and the
Atonement. Truly, the ministering brethren still look on while not
understanding how they render the Sanctuary and Atonement as GONE—VOID, and
this is as antichrist as any teaching gets. Those who are supporting Vance are
corporately responsible for his error on the Godhead as are those who support
Robert Sessler and his partners in error.
Son of
Man in a New Sense
"Christ brought men and women power to
overcome. He came to this world in human form, to live a man amongst men. He
assumed the liabilities of human nature, to be proved and tried. In His
humanity He was a partaker of the divine nature. In His
Incarnation He gained in a NEW SENSE the title of the Son of God. Said the angel to
Mary, 'The power of the Highest shall overshadow thee:
therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the
Son of God' (Luke 1:35). While the Son of a human being, He became the son of
God in a NEW SENSE. Thus He stood in our world--the Son of God, yet
allied [combined] by birth to the human race." E.G. White, Selected
Messages, vol. 1, p. 226.
Christ as Eternal
“Not one of the
angels could have become surety for the human race: their life is God's; they
could not surrender it. The angels all wear the yoke of obedience. They are the
appointed messengers of Him who is the commander of all Heaven. But Christ is equal
with God, infinite and omnipotent. He
could pay the ransom for man's freedom. He is the eternal, self-existing
Son, on whom no yoke had come; and when God asked,
"whom shall I send?" He could reply, "Here am I; send me."
He could pledge Himself to become man's surety; for He could say that which the highest angel could not say,--I have power
over My own life, "power to lay it down, and . . . power to take it
again.”--The Youth's Instructor, June 21, 1900. {7ABC 461.1}
"Jehovah, the
eternal, self-existent, uncreated One, Himself the source and sustainer of all,
is alone entitled to supreme reverence and worship." E.G. White, SDA Bible Commentary, Vol. 7A,
p. 439.
Scripture also defines
Jehovah as Christ:
Jehovah-- Exd 6:3
And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by [the name of] God
Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.
"Jehovah is
the name given to Christ. 'Behold, God is my
salvation,' writes the prophet Isaiah 'I will trust, and not be afraid for the
Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song He also is become my salvation.
Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.
And in that day ye shall say, Praise the Lord, call upon His name, declare His
doings among the people, make mention that His name is exalted.' 'In that day
shall this song be sung in the land of Judah: we have a strong city salvation
will God appoint for walls and bulwarks. Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the
truth may enter in. Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on
Thee, because he trusteth in Thee. Trust ye in the Lord forever for in the Lord
Jehovah is everlasting strength." E.G. White, The
Signs of the Times, May 3, 1899, p. 2. SDA Bible Commentary, Vol.
7a, p. 439.
These teachings are
clear and irrefutable. Those who are too proud to adjust their errors on the Godhead, will not receive the seal of God for they are
teaching antichrist doctrine.
The Godhead as pillar doctrine that was changed by
New Movement Adventism
Godhead as a pillar doctrine -- Personality of God and of Christ Landmarks: "Those who seek to
remove the old landmarks are
not holding fast they are not remembering how they have received and heard. Those
who try to bring in theories that would remove the pillars of our faith concerning the sanctuary or concerning the personality of God or of Christ, are
working as blind men. They are seeking to bring in uncertainties and to
set the people of God adrift without an anchor." {MR760 9.5}
"You are not
definitely clear on the personality of God, which is everything to us as a
people. You have virtually destroyed the Lord God Himself." EGW letter 300 1903.
“In the future,
deception of every kind is to arise, and we want solid ground for our feet. We
want solid pillars for the building. Not one pin is to be removed from that
which the Lord has established. The enemy will bring in false theories, such as
the doctrine that there is no sanctuary. This is one of the points on which
there will be a departing from the faith.” {Mar 192.3}
“As we near the end
of time, falsehood will be so mingled with truth, that only those who have the
guidance of the Holy Spirit will be able to distinguish truth from error. We
need to make every effort to keep the way of the Lord. We must in no case turn
from His guidance to put our trust in man. The Lord's angels are appointed to
keep strict watch over those who put their faith in the Lord, and these angels
are to be our special help in every time of need. Every day we are to come to
the Lord with full assurance of faith, and to look to Him for wisdom. . . .
Those who are guided by the Word of the Lord will discern with certainty
between falsehood and truth, between sin and righteousness.” {Mar 192.5}
"I entreat
every one to be clear and firm regarding the certain truths that we have heard
and received and advocated. The statements of God's Word are plain. Plant your feet firmly on the platform of eternal truth.
Reject every phase of error, even though it be covered
with a semblance of reality, which denies the personality of God and of
Christ." {RH, August 31, 1905 par. 11}
Pillars --
Landmarks of Adventism -- "The passing of the time in 1844 was a period of
great events, opening to our astonished eyes the cleansing of the sanctuary
transpiring in heaven, and having decided relation to God's people upon the
earth [also] the first and second angels' messages and the third, unfurling the
banner on which was inscribed, 'The commandments of God and the faith of Jesus'
[KJV]. One of the landmarks under this message was the temple of God, seen by
His truth-loving people in heaven, and the ark containing the law of God. The
light of the Sabbath of the fourth commandment flashed its strong rays in the
pathway of the transgressors of God's law. The non-immortality of the wicked is
an old landmark. I can call to mind nothing more that can come under the head
of the old landmarks. All this cry about changing the
old landmarks [1888-1900, etc.] is all imaginary. Ellen G. White, Manuscript,
1889 The Landmarks Defined, Counsels to Writers and Editors, pages 30, 31.
Sanctuary
Doctrine
"After the
truth has been proclaimed as a witness to all nations, every conceivable power
of evil will be set in operation, and minds will be confused by many voices
crying, 'Lo, Here is Christ, Lo, he is there. This is the truth, I have the
message from God, he has sent me with great light.'
Then there will be a removing of the landmarks, and an attempt to tear down the
pillars of our faith...(Ellen G. White, 'Let the
Trumpet Give a Certain Sound' (Concluded), Advent Review and Sabbath Herald,
December 13, 1892 (Original source) See Also, Maranatha, page 189
Maranatha, p. 192 Selected Messages, Vol. 3, p. 406 SDA Bible
Commentary, Vol. 7, p. 985).
The atonement is
related to the Godhead issue. The Trinity Doctrine obfuscates the Atonement by
discounting the sacrifice of Christ in emptying Himself of His Divine Nature in
order to give it to us for regeneration. Ellen White said without that
sacrifice, the cross would have been to no avail, and the Trinity Doctrine
obviates that sacrifice by saying that it NEVER TOOK PLACE because the Holy
Spirit always existed as a third person. That is blasphemy against the "greatest
good and crowning sacrifice" gift that heaven could bestow. The
personality of God and Christ is thus involved in the omega apostasy involving
the Godhead vis a vis the Trinity Doctrine.
"The spiritualistic theories regarding
the personality of God [the Godhead], followed to their logical conclusion,
sweep away the whole Christian economy. They estimate as nothing the light that
Christ came from heaven to give John to give to His people. They teach that the
scenes just before us are not of sufficient importance to be given special
attention. They make of no effect the truth of heavenly origin, and rob the
people of God of their past experience, giving them instead a false
science." E.G. White, 1SM, p. 204.
"Those who
seek to remove the old landmarks are not holding fast they are not remembering
how they have received and heard. Those who try to bring in theories that would
remove the pillars of our faith concerning the sanctuary or concerning the
personality of God or of Christ, are working as blind men. They are seeking to
bring in uncertainties and to set the people of God adrift without an
anchor." {MR760 9.5}
Sanctuary Gone
Atonement Gone -- "In a representation which passed before me, I saw a
certain work being done by medical missionary workers. Our ministering brethren
were looking on, watching what was being done, but they did not seem to
understand. The foundation of our faith, which was established by so much
prayer, such earnest searching of the Scriptures, was being taken down, pillar
by pillar. Our faith was to have nothing to rest upon--the sanctuary was gone,
the atonement was gone." E.G. White, The Upward
Look, 152.
For anyone to
conclude that God will wink at or forgive an errant view of something as
fundamental to the highest good, crowning act heaven can bestow—involving the
Sanctuary and the Atonement, is beyond me. That is tantamount to concluding
that God will wink at Babylon’s perversion of the Godhead via the Trinity
Doctrine! If God is just, and He is, He will not pardon either. There is no
excuse for any misunderstanding of the Godhead by anyone with spiritual
discernment and if any cannot understand it, they advertise their lack of being
invested with Holy Spirit discernment. That is what the Holy Spirit has shown
to me on this all important fundamental truth around which every other truth
clusters. And this is all the more true involving those who once claim to
understand it and to see the absolute beauty of this Sanctuary Atonement truth,
but then fall into unbelief.
