Jesus as The “Alpha and Omega”

and

His Subordination at the Incarnation

“5. The Subordination of Christ. Voluntarily assuming the limitations of human nature at the incarnation, the Lord Jesus Christ thereby subordinated Himself to the Father for the duration of His earthly ministry (see ps. 40:8; Matt. 26:39; John 3:16 4:34; 5:19, 30; 12:49; 14:10; 17:4, 8; 2 Cor. 8:9; Phil. 2:7, 8; Heb. 2:9; see on Luke 1:35; 2:49; John 3:16; 4:34; Phil 2:7, 8).

‘Laying aside His royal robe and kingly crown’ (DA 22, 23). “He voluntarily assumed human nature. It was His own act, and by His own consent.” (EGW ST Jan 20, 1890; cf 5T 702). “He humbled Himself, and took mortality upon Him.” (EGW RH Sept. 4, 1900).

Current day Adventism is rife with teachers who confuse the voluntary subordination of Christ from His Incarnation and time on earth, with His eternal existence and equality with God the Father. In a failed attempt to distance themselves from the evils of the Trinity Doctrine, they blindly enter another option that is just as Catholic and denying of the great eternal sacrifice made by the Testator of the Everlasting Covenant that occurred at His Incarnation. Make no mistake about it, this issue involves the omega heresy for Ellen White said that the alpha heresy involved the personality of God and Christ.

The Subordination Factor

Dishonest teachers of the Word, take one-sided statements by Christ relative to His earthly role of servitude, in lieu of taking all the evidence and interpreting so that nothing contradicts. Thus, they will take statements like John 14:28, and disregard ones like Col. 2:9 and Phl. 2:6 below, the latter referring to His servitude as a man (humanity), and the latter as His real status in the Godhead. Some of these falsesayers on the Godhead even say that the only person to the Godhead is God the Father, when God’s Word expressly says that in Jesus dwells ALL THE FULLNESS of the Godhead bodily. That is not honest dealing in the Word.

Jesus was killed for saying He was God. The Jews understood Him right! The words King of the Jews were hung above His head on the cross, which signified that He regarded Himself as the Messiah God.

Jhn 14:28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come [again] unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

Col 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

Phl 2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

The teachers of the Catholic derived antichrist, satanic lie that Jesus is inferior to the Father, allthewhile He is of the same ONE ETERNAL SPIRIT GODHEAD ESSENCE AND SUBSTANCE is thus the oxymoron of all oxymoron’s! You will see in this document just how Catholic that lie is!

God is One Spirit -- The Eternal Spirit

There is only ONE ETERNAL SPIRIT, the Spirit of God. Any person to the Godhead who possesses that ONE ETERNAL SPIRIT is God.

Hbr 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Jhn 4:24 God [is] a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship [him] in spirit and in truth.

“They have one God and one Saviour; and one Spirit—the Spirit of Christ” (9T p. 289)

“Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is; there is Liberty.” (2 Cor. 3:17)

How can foolish men say that the Comforter, THE HOLY SPIRIT is Christ, and in the same breath say Christ is not God? That is a contradiction of all contradictions!

Problems the False Teachers on the Godhead Never Deal With

Only one fully equal to God could be the Testator of the Everlasting Covenant, because the Everlasting Covenant was made because of a breach in God’s Law, and Ellen White says that both the Father and the Son delivered the law from Mt. Sinai.

·       The Testator of the Covenant had to die.

·       The Testator, the Son of God, was fully divine when He made the Testament.

·       Divinity cannot die.

·       Ellen White says that Divinity DID NOT die on the cross. Only the humanity of Christ died on the cross.

·       Can humanity atone for sin, the breach in God’s Law? Nay!

·       Can the death of Christ’s humanity for three days and nights in a tomb atone for the wages of sin which is eternal death? Nay!

·       Is our penalty for unrepented of sin, death for three days and night? Nay!

So how are all the above problems solved by the Sanctuary Service and the Spirit of Prophecy? One very crucial statement by Ellen White, resolves the entire dilemma. Here is that statement:

Two Sacrifices Required—One as a Cure for Sin and one for the Redemption From Sins Past

 "The darkness rolled away from the Saviour and from the Cross. Christ bowed His head and died. In His Incarnation He had reached the prescribed limit as a sacrifice, but not as a redeemer." E.G. White Manuscript Releases Volume Twelve, p. 409.

The Incarnation in and of itself was the highest good, crowing sacrifice that heaven could bestow because it provided a cure for sin, whereby the cross pardoned sin. In the Sanctuary service, when a Jew offered his best animal for a sacrifice, that did not cure his sin so that he would never sin again. Conversely, when Christ had all our sins placed upon Him on the cross, that did not cure them. It redeemed us from repented of sin, but it did not cure sin. Repented for sins still enters into the Sanctuary in heaven.

The cure for sin as provided by the Incarnation ALONE, WITHOUT THE CROSS, was the bequeathed gift of the soul of the life of Christ, His former Holy Spirit Divine Nature, as a regenerating agency to restore man to the image of God. Without this gift, Christ’s sacrifice on the cross would have been of no avail but to pardon sin forever. In order for that “highest good, crowning gift” to be made available to man, the death of the Testator, A DIVINE ONLY MEMBER OF THE GODHEAD, had to take place. That did not occur on the cross. No part of DIVINITY died on the cross, says Ellen White. She also says that Divinity cannot die. So how could the Testator’s Covenant—DEATH OF THE DIVINE ONLY TESTATOR, occur if He cannot die?

"Christ declared that after his ascension, he would send to his church, as his crowning gift, the Comforter, who was to take his place. This Comforter is the Holy Spirit,--the soul of his life, the efficacy of his church, the light and life of the world. With his Spirit Christ sends a reconciling influence and a power that takes away sin.

In the gift of the Spirit [HIS LIFE--THE SOUL OF HIS LIFE], Jesus gave to man the highest good that heaven could bestow....

The Spirit was given as a regenerating agency, and without this the sacrifice of Christ would have been of no avail....

It is by the Spirit that the heart is made pure. Through the Spirit the believer becomes a partaker of the divine nature. Christ has given his Spirit as a divine power to overcome all hereditary and cultivated tendencies to evil, and to impress his own character upon the church." E.G. White, Review and Herald Articles, May 19, 1904, vol. 5, p. 42.

Before the Incarnation, God could give His Spirit to man in some measure, but Ellen White says not to the degree it would be given after the Incarnation, at which time His Spirit could indwell us and empower us to overcome all sin.

Why was the same measure of the Spirit not accessible to mankind before the Incarnation? The answer is found within the Testator’s Covenant and must be reconciled with the fact that the Testator was DIVINE ONLY when He made that Testament. The gift of the Testator, the soul of His life, the Holy Spirit Divine Nature of the Testator, to mankind, could not be ratified until the death of the Testator, for that is the only thing that could atone for any breach in God’s law. The atonement for that breach must be equal to the penalty for that breach! And the person making the atonement had to be equal to the Lawgiver—God. Why did the Testator have to be equal to God? Because the Testator of the Law of God was God as well as the Son! Remember that Ellen White said they both gave the law at Sinai. And all these are crucial reasons why God could not give His Spirit to man in full measure before the Incarnation act in and of itself.

"He (Christ) suffered the death which was ours, that we might receive the life which WAS His." Desire of Ages, p. 25 1 Cor. 11:24-265, cf. John 6:53, 54, Titus 3:5, 6.

What life WAS (PAST TENSE) His? It was His same life that He divested from Himself at His Incarnation at His Incarnation—His pre-Incarnated life as THE HOLY SPIRIT HIMSELF. That life was divested from the personality of His humanity and became independent thereof. Jesus “died” to that DIVINE ONLY state of Being forever. He will never again be DIVINE ONLY. He will always be combined with humanity forever. The Bible says “a man forever,” and Ellen White said the same thing.

24But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.

"Cumbered with humanity Christ could not be in every place personally, therefore it was altogether for their advantage that He should leave them to go to His Father and send the Holy Spirit to be His successor on earth. The Holy Spirit is Himself divested of the personality of humanity and independent thereof. He would represent Himself as present in all places by His Holy Spirit.” E.G. White, (Manuscript Releases Volume 14 (No’s 1081-1135) MR No.1084.

Again, what is the penalty to man for unrepented for sin? Eternal death! So that penalty—ETERNAL DEATH, had to be paid (atoned for) by the Testator, the Son of God, BEFORE the gift of the Holy Spirit, THE CURE FOR SIN, could indwell men. Did three days and nights of death provide that cure? NO! NO! NO! Did a forfeiture of (DEATH TO) the Son’s pre-Incarnation existence (life) as HOLY SPIRIT DIVINE NATURE ONLY meet the Testator’s Testament demand? Yes! Yes! Yes! That is the only form of death that divinity could ever make! Therein the eternal atonement met the eternal penalty. He took the death that WAS OURS that we might have the live that WAS HIS—HIS DIVINE NATURE HOLY SPIRIT INDWELLING THE SOUL OF MAN.

If you were DIVINE ONLY and had to leave that estate to be combined with humanity forever, would you consider that a sacrifice?

"The Incarnation of Christ was an act of self-sacrifice; His life was one of continual self-denial. The highest glory of the love of God to man was manifested in the sacrifice of His only-begotten Son, who was the express image of His person. This is the great mystery of godliness. It is the privilege and the duty of every professed follower of Christ to have the mind of Christ. Without self-denial and cross bearing we cannot be His disciples." E.G. White, Selected Messages, Book 2, p. 185.

1.Hebrews 9:16  For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.

2.Hebrews 9:17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.

The Colossal AntiChrist Mistake

The prime antichrist error of the Trinity Doctrine, is that it denies the Sanctuary Atonement act of the Son of God in the Heavenly Sanctuary at His Incarnation, whereby He voluntarily divested Himself of His Holy Spirit Divine ONLY Nature, to become combined with humanity forever.

Misguided leaders of some independent Adventist movements, are teaching the antichrist error that either no such divestment took place:

·       Jesus had a beginning subsequent to that of the Father,

·       There is only one person to the Godhead—the Father.

·       That any person to the Godhead other than the Father is a pagan pantheon of gods. That God is the only God of the Gohead and Jesus is Lord only. A huge problem with that false theology arises when the Bible makes literally hundreds of references to “LORD GOD,” and specifically in reference to Jesus, to wit: Rev 22:6  And he said unto me, These sayings [are] faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.  Rev 22:7   Behold, I come quickly: blessed [is] he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book. Note: Who is speaking? An angel is quoting the Lord God. Who is the Lord God that the angel is quoting? The Lord God the angel is quoting says: “Behold I come quickly.” The angel is quoting Jesus. The Bible speaks of both the  Father and Jesus and Lord God interchangeably. Study it out for yourself and you will see! This is another proof that they are ONE GOD, constituted of the same ONE ETERNAL SPIRIT essence, substance. That is what makes them ONE GOD.

·       That there is no third person to the Godhead that is equal to the Father when the third person is of the same one eternal Spirit as the Father.

·       That the Holy Spirit and the Spirit of God does not involve a third person.

·       That the Holy Spirit and the Spirit of Christ does not involve a second person.

·       That “the Spirit of Jesus is the mind of Jesus.” (That is a direct statement by Smyrna Ministries, of Virginia). That is a lie. The truth is that the Spirit of Jesus is the ONE ETERNAL HOLY SPIRIT, THE HOLY GHOST, the soul of His life, THE “ANOTHER COMFORTER,” of John 14. In order to keep from making Jesus a person to the Godhead, Smyrna Ministries has to say that the Spirit of Jesus is the mind of Jesus. Intentional (knowing what they are saying) or not, that is a satanic, antichrist perversion of the truth.

·       That the words of Jesus mentioning “another Comforter” in John 14, don’t involve a third person because Jesus is the Comforter. It is true that Jesus is the Comforter, but there is an important reason why the words “another Comforter are used when Jesus says He will send “ANOTHER Comforter” That “another Comforter” is the Holy Ghost of His Divine only Holy Spirit, which He consisted of before His Incarnation. He divested Himself of His Holy Spirit at that time and His Holy Spirit became an independent person from the personality of His humanity, even a THIRD PERSON to the Godhead. The Trinity Doctrine denies this “highest good, crowning sacrifice,” which involved an eternal “death” to the Son’s former state of being DIVINE ONLY. This met the prescribed limit of a sacrifice according to the Testator’s Covenant, that while the Testator (The Son) liveth (in His first estate of Being) the Testament (Everlasting Covenant) is of no strength. If this divestation form of death to being DIVINE ONLY did not occur, there has been no heavenly Sanctuary Atonement and the Everlasting Covenant would not be ratified. The Trinity doctrine denies this heavenly Sacrifice at which time the THIRD PERSON ACCRUED to the Godhead, and so do many independent ministries. So the all important Testator’s covenant is made null and void by BOTH—The trintity doctrine achieves this by teaching that there was always a third person to the Godhead. The false SDA independent ministries achieve this antichrist teaching by saying that there is no such thing as a third person whatsoever—that the only person to the Godhead is the Father and that there is no second or third person to the Godhead. Both teachings are totally antichrist and totally antithetical to the Heavenly Sanctuary/Atonement sacrifice which occurred at the Incarnation of the Son of God.

·       The Holy Spirit is emanates from the Father and is not a separate, distinct, independent person from the Father. Ellen White’s “original, underived, unborrowed” statement concerning Christ is reinterpreted to mean only what some want it to mean.

·       That we either have the Spirit of the world, or the Spirit of God and there is no other person to the Godhead that is involved with the Holy Spirit, when Ellen White says that the Holy Spirit is the soul of the life of Christ. Here is what one ministry says: “To whom hast thou uttered words? and whose spirit came from thee?” (Job 26:4) When we utter words, we are revealing whose spirit we have. We either have the spirit of the world, or the spirit of God, which is Holy Spirit. “And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.” (Ephesians 4:30)

·       They give only one meaning to Ellen White’s “original, unborrowed, underived statement”— “From Jesus is our life derived. In him is life that is original,—unborrowed, underived life. In him is the fountain of life. In us there is a streamlet from the fountain of life. Our life is something that we receive, something that the Giver takes back again to himself. If our life is hid with Christ in God, we shall, when Christ shall appear, also appear with him in glory. And while in this world, we shall give to God, in sanctified service, all the capabilities he has given us.... {RH August 6, 1914, par. 1}  They say that we can have that life only in Jesus, which is correct, but they negate the meaning that Jesus’ life was original, unborrowed and underived from the Father.

·       They pervert the E.G. White statement that the Father and the Son Alone to be Exalted, for in exalting the Son, we automatically exalt the Holy Ghost of His pre-Incarnation DIVINE NATURE HOLY SPIRIT.

Some misguided reformers are interpreting the following statement to mean that there is no THIRD PERSON bodily that constitutes the Holy Spirit; that the Holy Spirit is the Father’s Spirit only:

“And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.” “And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them.” “And Jesus increased his wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.” Let the brightest example the world has yet seen be your example, rather than the greatest and most learned men of the age, who know not God, nor Jesus Christ whom he has sent. The Father and the Son alone are to be exalted. {YI July 7, 1898, par. 2}

Question: Is exalting the Holy Spirit Divine Nature of Christ, exalting the Son? Is exalting the ONE ETERNAL SPIRIT of the Father, the Son, and their Holy Spirit, exalting the Father and the Son ALONE? Is exalting the Holy Spirit Divine Nature of Christ, exalting all three persons to the Godhead because they ALL are of the ONE ETERNAL SPIRIT? Yes indeed.

You should ask such persons: Do you agree with the following statements by Ellen G. White, and if not, why not?

The Power of God in the Third Person—The prince of the power of evil can only be held in check by the power of God in the third person of the Godhead, the Holy Spirit.—Special Testimonies, Series A, No. 10, p. 37. (1897).  {Ev 617.2}

In Co-operation With the Three Highest Powers—We are to co-operate with the three highest powers in heaven,—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost,—and these powers will work through us, making us workers together with God.—Special Testimonies, Series B, No. 7, p. 51. (1905).  {Ev 617.3}

MR No. 487—The Holy Spirit Is a Person

“I beseech you, therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world; but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.”  {7MR 299.1}
The Lord says this because He knows it is for our good. He would build a wall around us, to keep us from transgression, so that His blessing and love may be bestowed on us in rich measure. This is the reason we have established a school here. The Lord instructed us that this was the place in which we should locate, and we have had every reason to think that we are in the right place. We have been brought together as a school, and
we need to realize that the Holy Spirit, who is as much a person as God is a person, is walking through these grounds, that the Lord God is our keeper, and helper. He hears every word we utter and knows every thought of the mind."—Manuscript 66, 1899, 4. (Talk, April 15, 1899).  {7MR 299.2}
Released April 28, 1976.

"In describing to His disciples the office work of the Holy Spirit, Jesus sought to inspire them with the joy and hope that inspired His own heart. He rejoiced because of the abundant help He had provided for His church. The Holy Spirit was the highest of all gifts that He could solicit from His Father for the exaltation of His people. The Spirit was to be given as a regenerating agent, and without this the sacrifice of Christ would have been of no avail. The power of evil had been strengthening for centuries, and the submission of men to this satanic captivity was amazing. Sin could be resisted and overcome only through the mighty agency of
the Third Person of the Godhead, who would come with no modified energy, but in the fullness of divine power. It is the Spirit that makes effectual what has been wrought out by the world’s Redeemer. It is by the Spirit that the heart is made pure. Through the Spirit the believer becomes a partaker of the divine nature. Christ has given His Spirit as a divine power to overcome all hereditary and cultivated tendencies to evil, and to impress His own character upon His church."  {DA 671.2}

Questions based upon the above statement:

·       When Christ, as the “ANOTHER” third person COMFORTER, comes to us, is that Holy Spirit Comforter Christ's spirit admixed with His humanity, or is it a separate, distinct person independent thereof?

·       If, prior to the Incarnation there were two persons to the Godhead (and that is true), how many persons accrued when the Son divested His Holy Spirit from the personality of His humanity and His Holy Spirit HIMSELF, became an INDEPENDENT PERSON THEROF? There would be THREE PERSONS TO THE GODHEAD ACCRUING AT THAT TIME.

·       The Trinity Doctrine bypasses that Incarnation sacrifice by which the Son divested His Holy Spirit from the personality of His humanity to make the THIRD PERSON, by teaching the false, antichrist doctrine that the THIRD PERSON, ALWAYS EXISTED FROM ETERNITY, and that is an antichrist lie by Rome.

·       Why, to your mind, does Ellen White refer to the Holy Spirit as a THIRD PERSON OF THE GODHEAD, when she clearly says that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Christ in the words: "Christ has given His Spirit..."

The Power of God in the Third Person—The prince of the power of evil can only be held in check by the power of God in the third person of the Godhead, the Holy Spirit.—Special Testimonies, Series A, No. 10, p. 37. (1897).  {Ev 617.2}

Ask those who don’t believe in a third person to the Godhead the following questions, and don’t stop until you get a straight, forthright answer, because they either don’t believe these statements were by Ellen White, and/or they believe she was errant and a false prophet in regard to these statements:

·       Do you believe God gave the gift of the Holy Spirit to the church via Ellen White?

·       Do you believe that God gave that gift to the church for the purposes of unity TILL HE COMES, only to have it perverted and changed by the leaders in the books Desire of Ages and Evangelism?

·       Did the leaders also change Special Testimonies, Series B, No. 7, p. 51, cited above?

·       Did the leaders also change Special Testimonies, Series A, No. 10, p. 37 citec above?

·       Did the leaders also change Review and Herald, November 19, 1909, cited below?

·       Did the leaders also change Signs of the Times, December 1, 1898, cited further down?

·       Did the leaders also change and/or insert the words "...the third person of the Godhead in the Southern Watchman, Nov. 28, 1905, cited below?

·       Did the leaders also tamper with {2MR 34.1} cited further down?

"Christ determined that when He ascended from this earth He would bestow a gift on those who had believed on Him and those who should believe on Him. What gift could He bestow rich enough to signalize and grace His ascension to the mediatorial throne? It must be worthy of His greatness and His royalty. He determined to give His representative, the third person of the Godhead. This gift could not be excelled. He would give all gifts in one, and therefore the divine Spirit, converting, enlightening, sanctifying, would be His donation."  {ST December 1, 1898, par. 2}

"The Holy Spirit always leads to the written word. The Holy Spirit is a person; for He beareth witness with our spirits that we are the children of God. When this witness is borne, it carries with it its own evidence. At such times we believe and are sure that we are the children of God. What strong evidence of the power of truth we can give to believers and unbelievers when we can voice the words of John, “We have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.” {20MR 68.5}

"The Holy Spirit has a personality, else He could not bear witness to our spirits and with our spirits that we are the children of God. He must also be a divine person, else He could not search out the secrets which lie hidden in the mind of God. “For what man knoweth the things of a man save the spirit of man, which is in him; even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.”—Manuscript 20, 1906.  {20MR 69.1} Ellen G.  The Lord God as Christ and the Alpha and Omega in the Context of Revelation 22

Rev 22:1  And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

Note: They share the same throne as GOD.

 Rev 22:2   In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, [was there] the tree of life, which bare twelve [manner of] fruits, [and] yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree [were] for the healing of the nations.

 Rev 22:3   And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:

Notice that God and the Lamb are BOTH INCLUDED by the words: “…and his servants shall serve Him. This is good evidence that both God and the Lamb ARE VERY GOD.

 Rev 22:4   And they shall see his face; and his name [shall be] in their foreheads.

Note: Whose face? BOTH, GOD AND THE LAMB! Whose name? BOTH GOD AND THE LAMB.

 Rev 22:5   And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.

Note: Who gives light? In context, BOTH GOD AND THE LAMB AS THE LORD GOD!

 Rev 22:6  And he said unto me, These sayings [are] faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.

 Rev 22:8   And I John saw these things, and heard [them]. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things.

Note: The SDA Bible Commentary on the above verse says: “Fell down to worship. Perhaps as an act of homage, which act the angel rejected. The grandeur of the vision must have completely overwhelmed the prophet and made him feel extremely humble. Moreover, the angel had been quoting Jesus Christ as if the Lord Himself were speaking.”

 Rev 22:9   Then saith he unto me, See [thou do it] not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.

Note: Worship which God—God or the Lamb? Worship BOTH AS ONE GOD—IN CONTEXT!

False SDA “Independent” Ministries are Teaching Another Version of Rome’s Lie on the Godhead

If Satan can’t get you within the heretical abominations of the new movement, new organization professing to be the SDA church, he will try to get you outside it! Don’t think that all the Jesuits are working only inside the SDA church. There are plenty of them teaching antichrist Catholicism on the Godhead via so-called SDA Independent Minsitries and two of them are Smyrna Ministries of Virginia, and Maranatha Media Ministries. These ministries teach that Christ was brought forth and begotten in the sense that He did not exist with the Father at the very beginning, but was later brought forth as some subsequent time in the far distant vastness of time. That is another form of Satan’s perversion of the Godhead, as the following data from the SDA Bible Commentary makes abundantly clear:

Here is what the SDA Bible Commentary says on the meaning of “only begotten” and/or brought forth. The first notion that Jesus became extant at some time future to the Father, is just another variation on the themes of Rome’s lies that originated with the early Fathers of the Catholic church and derived from the influence of the Latin Vulgate, the official Bible of the Catholic Church. So while pretending to spare you the evils of the Trinity Doctrine, Rome’s central doctrine, they snare you with another antichrist notion emanating from Rome, the concept that Jesus is younger than the Father and came forth at some time future to the Father.

Quoting the SDA Bible Commentary:

“The only begotten. Gr. monogenēs, from two words meaning “only” and “kind,” and thus properly translated “unique,” “only,” “only one of a kind.” As with the title Logos (see on v. 1), only John uses the word monogenēs of Christ (see John 1:18; 3:16, 18; 1 John 4:9). Absence of the definite article in the Greek either makes monogenēs indefinite, “an only one,” or makes it an expression of quality, in which case John would be saying, “glory as of an only one [who had come] from beside the Father.” This seems evidently the sense here. See on Luke 7:12; 8:42, where monogenēs is translated “only.”

In Heb. 11:17 monogenēs is used of Isaac, who was by no means Abraham’s “only begotten,” or even his first-born. But he was the son of the promise, and as such, the one destined to succeed his father as heir to the birthright (Gen. 25:1–6; Gal. 4:22, 23). “Similarly in respect to the five texts in John’s writings of Christ, the translation should be one of the following: ‘unique,’ ‘precious,’ ‘only,’ ‘sole,’ ‘the only one of his kind,’ but not ‘only begotten’” (Problems in Bible Translation, p. 198).

The translation “only begotten,” here and elsewhere, apparently originated with the early Fathers of the Catholic Church, and entered early English translations of the Bible under the influence of the Latin Vulgate, the official Bible of the Catholic Church. Accurately reflecting the Greek, various Old Latin manuscripts which antedate the Vulgate read “only” rather than “only begotten.” The idea that Christ “was born of the Father before all creation” appears first in the writings of Origen, about a.d. 230. Arius, nearly a century later, is the first to use gegennemenon, the correct Greek word for “begotten,” when speaking of Christ, and to affirm that He was “begotten of God before all ages” (see Additional Note at end of chapter). This Greek word is never used in the Bible concerning the preincarnate Christ. The idea that Christ was “begotten” by the Father at some time in eternity past is altogether foreign to the Scriptures. For a detailed discussion of this subject see Problems in Bible Translation, pp. 197–204.

Properly understood of Christ’s unique status as the Son of God, the word monogenēs distinguishes between Him and all others who, through faith in Him, are given “power to become the sons of God” (v. 12), and who are specifically declared to be “born … of God” (v. 13). Christ is, and always has been, very “God” (see on v. 1), and by virtue of this fact we “become the sons of God” when we receive Christ and believe on His name.

The statement of v. 14 obviously deals with the incarnation, and its purpose is to emphasize the fact that the incarnate Word retained the divine nature, as evidenced by the manifestation of the preincarnate divine glory (see ch. 17:5). Although the word monogenēs means strictly “unique,” or “only,” rather than “only begotten,” John nevertheless here applies it to Christ at His incarnation, to the time when “the Word was made flesh” in order to dwell among us. Paul confirms this application in Heb. 1:5, 6, where he links the words gegenneka, “have I begotten” (from gennaō, “to beget”), and prōtotoktos, “first-born” (from pro, “before,” and tiktō, “to beget”), to the time “when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world.” It seems therefore wholly unwarranted to understand monogenēs as referring to a mysterious begetting of “the Word” at some point of time in eternity past. For a discussion of Christ as the Son of God see on Luke 1:35; and as the Son of man, see on Matt. 1:1; Mark 2:10; see also EGW Supplementary Material on Phil. 2:6–8; Col. 2:9.

Of the Father. Gr. para theou, literally “with the Father,” or “beside the Father,” here probably with the force of “from beside the Father.” The Greek preposition para sometimes has the force of ek, “out of,” “from,” which here agrees best with the context. The incarnate Logos had come forth from the presence of the Father when He entered this world. See on ch. 6:46.

Full of. This clearly applies to the Word incarnate. Dwelling on earth as a man among men, the Word was “full of grace and truth.”[1][1]  SDA Bible Commentary, Vol. 5, pp. 902, 903.

Ellen White on Colossians 2:9:

“So with the followers of Christ. We can receive of heaven’s light only as we are willing to be emptied of self. We cannot discern the character of God, or accept Christ by faith, unless we consent to the bringing into captivity of every thought to the obedience of Christ. To all who do this the Holy Spirit is given without measure. In Christ “dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily, and in Him ye are made full.” Colossians 2:9, 10, R. V.  {DA 181.1}

John 16:28 teaches that Christ came forth from the Father, strongly implying that there was a Father/Son relationship before He came into this world.

·       John 17:5,24 also indicates that there was a Father/Son relationship in the Godhead even before the creation of the world.

The Meaning of Psalm 2:7:

Psa 2:7   I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou [art] my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

The Meaning of John 16:28

American King James Version

“I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.”

Psalm 2:7 does not militate against the eternal Sonship of Jesus Christ. It does not refer to a time when Christ became the Son of God through a begetting act of God. Instead it refers to the day of Jesus’ resurrection when God brought Him forth from the womb of the earth and thereby publicly decreed that He is who He always was—the Son of God (see Acts 13:33 and Romans 1:3-4). The declaring of God's decree in Psalm 2:7 will take place at the close of the great tribulation and will be Jesus’ way of asserting that He is the legitimate ruler of the world who has the right and authority to take over the earth.

 Pro 8:22   The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.

 Pro 8:23   I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.

 Pro 8:24   When [there were] no depths, I was brought forth; when [there were] no fountains abounding with water.

 Pro 8:25   Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth:

 Pro 8:26   While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world.

 Pro 8:27   When he prepared the heavens, I [was] there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth:

 Pro 8:28   When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep:

 Pro 8:29   When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:

 Pro 8:30   Then I was by him, [as] one brought up [with him]: and I was daily [his] delight, rejoicing always before him;

 Pro 8:31   Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights [were] with the sons of men.

 Pro 8:32   Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed [are they that] keep my ways.

 Pro 8:33   Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.

 Pro 8:34   Blessed [is] the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.

 Pro 8:35   For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.

 Pro 8:36   But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.

Additional Evidence That Christ Spoke of Himself as the Alpha and Omega | The Beginning and the End

Rev 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

Rev 1:11 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send [it] unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.

Rev 21:6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

Rev 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

Any other teaching that Christ is not God in the highest sense, is seriously antichrist. Such error is anti the truth associated with Jesus Christ, and derives from men and women who are either novices in the word and/or without spiritual discernment to see the truth on this serious issue that is so basic to Christianity and everything that clusters around it.

Cindy,

I can afford to be kind for I have done my homework for about 58 years. I know that NO ONE can prove any more or less than I am saying on the issue, and this is a shaking issue. There is much that cannot be proven, but it is safer to take what is given so that it does not contradict. What Jesus says of His servitude as a human, and what He says of His Divinity, is "apparently" confusing to many. Try not to mix them up and that effort will serve you will. You can take that to heaven's bank.

Think of this example:

And you can take that to the bank of heaven as well. No one will ever prove this reasoning wrong.

All blessings,

Ron

Hi Ron,

Thank you for your answers. And your kind attitude. Most cannot study seemingly controversial topics without becoming accusatory.

To clarify what I understand you believe. Do you believe that God the Father, is God, God the Son, Jesus, IS God, and God the Holy Spirit, Is God = all three are God, but one God?

They are all three parts of the ONE God?

Am I correct that this is what you believe?

Thank you,

Cindy

Hi Cindy,

I believe that God is a Spirit. I believe that there is ONE ETERNAL SPIRIT. I believe there is ONE HOLY SPIRIT. I believe that if Jesus is the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, He is God. Thus, I believe that the Holy Spirit is God. I believe that what makes them ONE GOD is their ONE ETERNLA HOLY SPIRIT ESSENCE, SUBSTANCE.
