Dennis Kean's Most Serious Error

Dennis' most serious error is his assumption that the Sacrament of Reconciliation is the Abomination that desolates. I agree with Dennis with the qualification that this sin is part and parcel to the Abomination that Desolates, but there is actually a worse thing that Rome has done than pretending to forgive sin via the Sacrament of Reconciliation. What could that possibly be?

Dennis has stated in his paper that:

"We begin our study with the word "...cleansed", the very place where Desmond Ford departed from the Adventist view. Is Ford right in his assessment that the cleansing of the Sanctuary should have been accomplished at the end of the 2300 days? Daniel 8:13 plainly says that the cleansing would be accomplished at the end of those days? No one has satisfactorily disqualified Ford's allegation that the word "cleansed" is in the accomplished sense. It implies completion. The implication of this objection of a single word is that the 2300 days should have been the completion of the cleansing of the sanctuary and not the beginning. This argument throws a monkey wrench into our popular interpretation of this prophecy. We teach that the cleansing of the Sanctuary began, rather than ended, in 1844. Ford's objection seems to uproot the very foundation, on which the pioneers built their views.

Could this be true? Have we been building on a faulty foundation? If it is true, we may have to scrap the whole idea and start from scratch. The truth is that a lot rides on this very cornerstone of our identity. If the 1844 experience was just a delusion, then everything that rides on it is in jeopardy. If we were wrong about that, then we may be wrong about the Sabbath, the Sanctuary doctrine etc. Should this one little point be proven otherwise, we would become little more than borderline Christians, with strange and peculiar beliefs." End quote from Dennis' paper.

Dennis has questioned the Sabbath by saying that the Abomination that Desolates is the Sacrament of Reconciliation. There is a worse violation by Rome. What is that violation? It is redefining God's law by changing it. Worse, and more basic than pretending to forgive sin, is changing God's law which defines sin. God's law is a transcript of His character. If that law could be changed, then His character can be changed, and any change in His law is an attempt to change His character and the very definition of sin. If the law can be changed, that affects the Everlasting Covenant which was made to deal with any transgression of the law. If the law could be changed, then Christ need not have died to atone for any breach in the law, including the breach of changing the Sabbath commandment to Sunday sacredness. God could have changed His law, but He did not. The Everlasting Covenant would not then be applicable.

So, we are getting basic here, as basic as possible. Ellen White said that the Mark or Seal of the Beast is the enforcement of Sunday sacredness. Was she correct? Here is her statement:

"When the test comes, it will be clearly shown what the mark [or Seal] of the beast is. It is the keeping of Sunday." E.G. White, SDA Bible Commentary, 7a, p. 980, col. 2.

Ellen White was bang on! There is something worse than pretending to forgive sin, and that something is the changing of the definition of sin or God's law, which defines sin. That is the greatest usurpation one could make against God. That "something" proposes to change the very character of God. What are the implications?

Ellen White said that the Abomination of Desolation occurred when Roman soldiers encroached upon Jewish soil in A.D. 70. For so many furlongs from Jerusalem, the soil was considered Holy. After all, Mt. Zion had once been the dwelling place of God. Ellen White then parallels the encroachment of the Roman soldiers on Jewish soil, the Abomination of Desolation, with the coming National Sunday Law and its enforcement. This will be the real, most basic Abomination of Desolation, because it proposes to change the very law of God, and not only His law, but the Seal or Authority of that Law, the Sabbath, as constituting the predominant Mark or Seal of the Beast, designating his usurped authority over that of God and His Seal or Mark of Authority--the Sabbath Commandment. Therefore, Dennis is very errant in saying that the Sacrament of Reconciliation is the Abomination that Desolates. Ellen White said that it is the enforcement of Sunday sacredness, which involves a change in God's law, or His character, and she obviously is right! Dennis obviously is seriously WRONG!

Dennis' thesis precludes the following serious warning given to us by Ellen White, as regards the Abomination of Desolation and what we should do when we see it in place:

"As the siege of Jerusalem by the Roman armies was the signal for flight to the Judean Christians, so the assumption of power on the part of our nation in the decree enforcing the papal sabbath will be a WARNING to us. It will then be time to leave the large cities, preparatory to leaving the smaller ones for retired homes in secluded places among the mountains. And now, instead of seeking expensive dwellings here, we should be preparing to move to a better country, even a heavenly." E.G. White, Testimonies, Vol. 5, 464, 465.

"As the approach of the Roman armies was a SIGN (WARNING) to the disciples of the impending destruction of Jerusalem, so may this apostasy be a SIGN to us that the limit of God's forbearance is reached, that the measure of our nation's iniquity is full, and that the angel of mercy is about to take her flight, never to return. The people of God will then be plunged into those scenes of affliction and distress which prophets have described as the time of Jacob's trouble." E.G. White, Testimonies, Vol. 5, 451.

Chap. 172 - The Sign to Leave Large Cities

"When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains. Matt. 24:15, 16.
The time is not far distant, when, like the early disciples, we shall be forced to seek a refuge in desolate and solitary places. As the siege of Jerusalem by the Roman armies was the signal for flight to the Judean Christians, so the assumption of power on the part of our nation [the United States] in the decree enforcing the papal sabbath will be a warning to us. It will then be time to leave the large cities, preparatory to leaving the smaller ones for retired homes in secluded places among the mountains. {Mar 180.1}."

Obviously, Ellen White is defining the Abomination of Desolation, and likening the siege of Jerusalem to that abomination. Then she parallels that abomination to the National Sunday Law, the worse abomination possible, the change of God's law.

The Psalmist agrees with Ellen White! He says that it is when the Law is made void that it is time for God to work:

Psa 119:126 [It is] time for [thee], LORD, to work: [for] they have made void thy law.

So, Dennis Kean's definition of the Abomination that Desolates, sidesteps and precludes all these warnings. He relegates the Abomination of Desolation to the arising of the Sacrament of Reconciliation beginning in 538-1517 A.D. (The Dark Ages). He teaches that the Sanctuary was cleansed by the first angel's message which exposed the Abomination of Desolation which he defines as the Catholic doctrine of the Sacrament of Reconciliation, or the forgiveness of sin(s) by priest and pope. He is so dead wrong! He applies the following Biblical warning to the dark ages and says it was all fulfilled then:

"When ye therefore shall see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Then let them which be in Judea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take anything out of his house: Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes." Matthew 24:15-18.

Dennis' teachings circumvent all these important end-time warning signs. No Jesuit on earth has ever contrived any more serious error than the errors of one Dennis Kean. Beware!

I warned you Dennis Kean, that you did not know who or what you were dealing with in engaging me. You now know! Will you need to be embarrassed and exposed further? The choice is yours! I can go into your Website and expose many more errors from your additional articles therein. I am placing this post on my Website to warn of your serious errors.

Further Implications of Dennis' Error

To the discerning reader, the apparent implication of all this proof is that Dennis' so-called "Extra Curricular" cleansing of the Sanctuary of the abomination of Desolation, WHICH HE INTERPRETS AS THE SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION, or Catholic Pope and priests, forgiving sin(s), is totally false and a non-event! The Abomination of Desolation is the Mark (seal) of the Beast, enforced Sunday sacredness, just as Ellen White said it was.
