The Direct Link of Pantheism to the Trinity Doctrine

Dear Reader,

The following is an adaptation to an answer A. LeRoy Moore gave to a person on an Internet chat group regarding what law of the ten commandments pantheism violates. My correlation of Moore's answer to the Trinity doctrine appears below this answer by A. LeRoy Moore:

You ask what law of the ten commandments pantheism violates. It violates the entire first table of the decalogue. Pantheism lies behind myriad forms of idolatry forbidden in the second and violates the very first command by denying the personality and objective reality of the Creator, thus resulting in worship of the creature--all creatures, as God.

God created all things and thus all creation, except as it is blighted by sin, reflects His character. But God must not be confused with what He created any more than an artist should be confused with his art work. It would be demeaning indeed to examine an artists works of art and insist that he is in some mysterious way actually in the painting, etc. Pantheism is made up of two words, pan (all) and theism (God) and means, God in all. Thus all is divine. Indeed it becomes a form of self worship that repudiates the holiness of God and ultimately identifies the impulses of sinful man with God.

When a Christian sees a sunrise He praises the Creator and is led to worship a being wholly apart from and vastly greater than the sun. When a pantheist sees the sun he is led to praise the sun itself. This confusion of the creature with the Creator led to the worship of the sun, moon, and stars, etc--and thus to the astrology that, in fulfillment of prophecy, has become so prevalent in our day. There are all forms of pantheism. A pantheistic understanding leads the Hindus to consider the cow sacred and for some to consider killing an insect to be sin.

As for the Kellogg-Waggoner threat upon Adventism, their philosophy involved the idea that there was a tree maker in a tree, a flower maker in the flower, etc.. This mystification obscures and ultimately destroys an understanding of the individuality of God as wholly apart from His Creation, Who can create and destroy (ultimately) that which because of sin not only destroys the concept of His personal, self-sacrificing love, but results in the disintegration of nature itself as a consequence of violating His laws. Kellogg, for example, insisted that his question, "Where is God?" must be answered by, He is here now on nature and in you and me. To worship Him one must thus only meditate upon his own thoughts. As a result, the purity, holiness, and glorious power of God is relegated to man's own selfish impulses.

This worship of nature thus violates also the fourth command to worship only YHWH, for it denies His personal reality and thus also violates the third command not to take His name in vain. No wonder Ellen White saw in it a threat to the three angel's message which call for a worship, not of creation but of the Creator Who, in contrast to nature worship, demands worship of Himself alone and has sanctified (set apart) the Sabbath as a sign of true worship of Himself. This in contrast to Babylon, which will ultimately enforce nature worship by command that all who refuse to worship the beast (creature) must be killed (Rev 13; 14:6-12).

Meanwhile, in his conflict with the leaders, Kellogg insisted that he only echoed the thoughts of Ellen White, who taught that creation and its laws reflected the character of God. She long kept publicly silent as she continued to warn him privately of his danger, which she had been doing for years before any one else recognized the danger of his philosophy. She thus tried desperately to keep hold of his affections (he was as a son to her) while trying privately to rescue him from his philosophy. Ultimately, she was forced to publicly warn the entire church against him--a most painful experience for her. In doing so she declared that his philosophy would destroy the personality of God and with it our entire sanctuary message.

May God give us discernment to see advances of the enemy in our day,

A. Leroy Moore

Pantheism's Direct Tie to the Trinity Doctrine--by Ron Beaulieu

As A. LeRoy Moore stated, pantheism lies behind myriad forms of idolatry. We are going to explore the worst form of pantheism as it has been used by Satan to affect the Godhead. A Jewish Website has made the correct observation that the trinity doctrine is idolatry. That Website comes to the right conclusion for the wrong reasons, but nevertheless, it is correct in asserting that the trinity doctrine is pure pantheism, which was to be part of the Omega of Apostasy heresy.

The creature creating the trinity doctrine was Satan. The trinity doctrine is the most subtle error ever created by Satan. It is so subtle that it has deceived many of the most able elect. If there is error in that doctrine, and there certainly is, then one worships the creator of that doctrine and his creature error. The trinity doctrine is pure pantheism because it is idolatry. How is the trinity doctrine idolatry? Because it commits the error of saying that the Holy Spirit is other than the sacrificed life, soul and breath of the Son of God at His Incarnation. It states that the Holy Spirit is a channel for the benefits Christ's sacrifice on the cross afforded, but it is grossly errant in neglecting to teach that those benefits would not have accrued had the Son not "laid aside/emptied Himself" of certain attributes at His Incarnation in order to be able to send us the impartation of His life, soul and breath which symbolizes His own personal Holy Spirit, which is what He laid aside in order to send it to us as His crowning gift for the express purpose of regenerating us back into the image of God.

By denying the Incarnation death of the Son to His former purely divine life Being, so that He thereafter could impart it to us, one introduces idolatry into the Godhead, because error regarding the Godhead is the worse form of idolatry and violation of the commandments of God, as A. LeRoy Moore has pointed out.

Inspiration by way of Scripture and Ellen White, has defined clearly just who and what the Holy Spirit is, and to attribute that person to anyone other than the clearly defined person He is, is to commit idolatry and worship another god, other than the Son of God who made the great sacrifice of yielding up, laying aside and emptying Himself, in order to send us something never theretofore available to man as it was after the Incarnation, and that SOMETHING is the impartation of the Holy Spirit mind of the Son living and dwelling in the minds and hearts of men. That is how God, under the New Covenant, places His law in the hearts (minds) of men. He sends His Holy Spirit mind to live and dwell within us.

The ten commandment law of God, the Everlasting Covenant, and the New Covenant placing of the law in our hearts, are all contingent and inseparably tied together.

Jer 31:33 But this [shall be] the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Hbr 8:10 For this [is] the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

That law in written in our inward parts and heart (mind) by the mind of Christ, His personal Holy Spirit life and soul, dwelling in us, and this has been possible only since the Incarnation, because it was there and then that this gift was made possible by Christ laying aside that Holy Spirit life, soul and breath for us:

Jer 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:

Hbr 8:8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

Hbr 12:24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than [that of] Abel.

Here is the 1 remaining inexact match:

Hbr 8:13 In that he saith, A new [covenant], he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old [is] ready to vanish away.

2Cr 3:3 [Forasmuch as ye are] manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

Never before the Incarnation was the Holy Spirit Mind of the Son of God available to be put into the hearts of man. This was due to the following act which the trinity doctrine totally denies by attributing the Holy Spirit to another person other than the Son Himself:

"The Holy Spirit is Christ's representative, but divested of the personality of humanity, and independent thereof. Cumbered with humanity, Christ could not be in every place personally. Therefore it was for their interest that He should go to the Father, and send the Spirit to be His successor on earth. No one could then have any advantage because of his location or his personal contact with Christ. By the Spirit the Saviour would be accessible to all. In this sense He would be nearer to them than if he had not ascended on high. This promise belongs to us now as surely as it belonged to the disciples.... Let every church member kneel before God, and pray earnestly for the impartation of the Spirit." E.G. White, God's Amazing Grace, 191.

What is the Impartation of the Spirit? Who's Spirit?

Just exactly what is the impartation of the Holy Spirit? Whose Spirit is it, a third person distinct from the person of the Son, or the life, soul and breath of the Son of God Himself?

"The Holy Spirit is the breath of spiritual life in the soul. The impartation of the Spirit is the impartation of the life of Christ. It imbues the receiver with the attributes of Christ. Only those who are thus taught of God, those who possess the inward working of the Spirit, and in whose life the Christ-life is manifested, are to stand as representative men, to minister in behalf of the church." Desire of Ages, 805.

"Christ declared that after his ascension, he would send to his church, as his crowning gift, the Comforter, who was to take his place. This Comforter is the Holy Spirit,--the soul of his life, the efficacy of his church, the light and life of the world. With his Spirit Christ sends a reconciling influence and a power that takes away sin.
In the gift of the Spirit [HIS LIFE--THE SOUL OF HIS LIFE], Jesus gave to man the highest good that heaven could bestow....
The Spirit was given as a regenerating agency, and without this the sacrifice of Christ would have been of no avail....
It is by the Spirit that the heart is made pure. Through the Spirit the believer becomes a partaker of the divine nature. Christ has given his Spirit as a divine power to overcome all hereditary and cultivated tendencies to evil, and to impress his own character upon the church."
E.G. White, Review and Herald Articles, May 19, 1904, vol. 5, p. 42.

Issues Involving the Heart (Mind) of Man

Mat 15:19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:

Mat 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

Mat 24:48 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;

Mar 6:52 For they considered not [the miracle] of the loaves: for their heart was hardened.

Mar 7:6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with [their] lips, but their heart is far from me.

Mar 12:30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this [is] the first commandment.

Mar 12:33 And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love [his] neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.

Luk 8:15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep [it], and bring forth fruit with patience.

Luk 24:25 Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:

Are SDA Leaders Aware That The Trinity Doctrine is Not Scriptural?

"The doctrine of the Trinity, a doctrine the knowledge of which is certainly necessary to salvation, is not explicitly and evidently laid down in Scripture, in the Protestant sense of private interpretation." Quoted from Doctrinal Catechism in the Advent Review and Sabbath Herald, August 22, 1854.

"Only by faith can we accept the existence of the Trinity."(Adventist Review, Vol. 158, No. 31, p. 4).

Ellen White spoke of a heavenly trio, but if we interpret the word trio so that nothing contradicts with her express definition of the Holy Spirit being the life, soul and breath of Christ, then we cannot believe the trinity doctrine which makes the Holy Spirit another person other than the express person of the Son of God, the Incarnated Christ Jesus. In other words, the trinity doctrine says that the Holy Spirit is another person channel that spirits the benefits of heaven to us, rather than that Spirit being the very life of Christ itself. It is considered another person distinct from Christ, and the Holy Spirit is no such thing. This is the greatest act of subtlety Satan has ever attempted as part of the Omega Heresy, and this is precisely how he intrudes himself and error into something as all important as the Godhead. The issues is so subtle that it is difficult for some to understand, but they thereby betray their lack of spiritual discernment. Spiritual things are spiritually discerned. The track of truth lies so close to the track of error that only those with spiritual discernment will see the error.

The Law and the Gospel Cannot be Separated

Ellen White said that the law and the gospel cannot be separated. That is evinced by Revelation 14:6-12. That is also evinced by the following Scriptures:

Hbr 10:16 This [is] the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

Hbr 12:24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than [that of] Abel.

Hbr 13:20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

Hbr 10:29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

The Spirit of grace includes power for obedience as well as pardon for sin, Romans 1:5. The Spirit (life and mind) of the Son is given to us to indwell us for the purpose of regeneration, and the sacrifice on the cross was of no avail without the Sanctuary sacrifice in heaven, where Christ laid aside His first life to be given to us as a regenerating agent. How do we know His life was laid aside in the heavenly Sanctuary? Because after He laid aside that life He was cumbered with humanity forever after, and He did not thereafter have omnipresence, omnipotence, and/or omniscience. He did not have these attributes after He was born of Mary. Christ attested to this by the following facts:

  • He said that He could not send His Holy Spirit until He ascended back to His Father--proving lack of omnipotence--omnipresence.

  • He said He could do nothing without His Father--proving lack of omnipotence.

  • He said that He did not know the day nor hour of His coming--proving lack of omniscience.

  • He said that He would pray the Father to send His Holy Spirit--proving lack of omnipotence and omnipresence to send it Himself.

Some try to say that Jesus did not give up (lay aside--empty Himself) anything in the Sanctuary in heaven at the Incarnation, and that indeed the Incarnation did not take place until the Son was entered into Mary's womb here on earth. This erroneous assumption is proved to be just that by the above enumerated facts.

Concept of Self-Sacrificing Love Destroyed by the Trinity Doctrine

One of Satan's prime charges against God the Father and the Son was that they were not subject to their own laws, rules and regulations, and that they were not thereby self-sacrificing or self disciplinary in any way and that therefore they should not impose rules and regulations on man. Ellen White establishes this basis for Satan's rebellion in heaven, and as the argument he used to enlist at least a third of the angels. How does the trinity doctrine support Satan's charges?

The wages for man's sin is eternal death. Of course, Satan knows this penalty and he knows that penalty is his to experience. He has established the trinity doctrine to teach man that Christ has not paid that penalty for man. How? Why? The trinity doctrine teaches that Divinity cannot die. That means that God could never pay the penalty for sin, because He cannot die. That further means that if Christ died, He was not God. It also means that there was nothing more than a human sacrifice for sin and that even that human sacrifice could never pay the penalty for sin because that penalty is eternal death and Christ died only for three days. What are some of the logical results, conclusions, and implications of such a satanic doctrine:

  • There was no atonement since only the humanity of Christ died, and no human being can make an atonement for sin.
  • There was no eternal death on God's part to pay for the wages of sin.
  • The Sanctuary Service was violated because the Lamb was to die permanently.
  • If there was no atonement there is no mediator.
  • Mary can therefore be regarded as a mediator (mediatrix).
  • Dead saints are importuned as mediators.
  • Priests can forgive sins.
  • God can be bought to retrieve sinful souls from purgatory.
  • Man cannot overcome--his sins can only by justified by someone.
  • There is no power by which man can overcome sin in this life.
  • Man can but his way out of sin.
  • Man must wait until glorification to overcome sin.
  • There is a chance for Satan because no atonement has been made.
  • The trinity doctrine says that the Holy Spirit can be in you and me and everyone who accepts Christ, without the eternal sacrifice of the Son's Holy Spirit life at the Incarnation in heaven. This is a form of pantheism and the worst of its myriad forms.
  • The purity, holiness, and glorious power of God--the grace for obedience (Romans 1:5) is turned into lasciviousness because that grace power is not available is the Holy Spirit life of Christ was not given to us as a result of His eternal sacrifice of that life at the Incarnation.
  • The trinity doctrine teaches that all three persons of the trinity are one and the same person ONE GOD. This denies the distinct sacrifice of the Son of His Holy Spirit former Being. All three did not engage that particular sacrifice in Atonement for sin, even though the Father felt the pain of that process. He did not lay off His Holy Spirit Being forever, in payment for the wages of sin, as did the Son. But the Father was self-sacrificing in letting His only beloved Son do so for us. Heaven will afford the opportunity to better understand the sacrifice of the Father in sacrificing His Son.
  • The trinity doctrine denies the PERSONAL REALITY of the Son and His distinct ETERNAL sacrifice for sin. He is said to be the same as the Father IN BEING, which destroys His personal personality and Being (presence). In other words, it is not the Father that is out mediator and intercessor, it is Christ. It is not the Father who died the first death in the heavenly Sanctuary and the second on the cross.
  • If Satan does not make it, he will take many with him due to this doctrine.
  • Universalism--all men should be saved because there was no power to keep them from sinning in this life.
  • The Christian religion is a farce.
  • Atheism

These are some of the "logical" conclusions that thinking men come to as a result of the trinity doctrine. I personally know a large group of atheists who have come to these conclusions. Do you begin to see the implications of the trinity doctrine? So what is the truth of the matter?

The truth is that the Son of God died to His first estate of Being FOREVER, eternally, as payment for the wages of sin. It is true that divinity cannot die. Ellen White says that divinity cannot die. But what if the Son died to His former, pre-incarnation Being, person or existence? According to Ellen White and Scripture that is what took place. That satisfies the Sanctuary requirement and the Everlasting Covenant requirement as regard the death of the Testator of the Covenant who was the Son of God. He volunteered to die forever to His first state of existence which was an existence of pure divinity only. He then took on another form of existence--the form of a servant, which excludes certain of His attributes forever. He is still fully God and fully human, and we do not understand much beyond these facts.

The fact that the Son died FOREVER to His first estate of pure divinity by laying it aside and giving it to us as a gift for overcoming sin and to restore man to the image of God, proves Satan wrong in saying that the Godhead was not self-sacrificing and subject to His own rules and regulations as regard laws, the breaking of laws and the penalty for breaking those laws. The study of the Godhead will be the study of eternity. But this is as well as the Christian can view the subject now.

It is because of the eternal sacrifice that was made at the Incarnation of the Son in heaven that the sacrifice on the cross was efficacious. What do I mean? I mean that without the Sacrifice of the Son's Holy Spirit life at His Incarnation, as a crowing regenerating gift to us, we would NEVER have the power to overcome sin, and even the death on the cross would only pay for sins past, and the blood of Christ would forever have to be sprinkled in the Most Holy Place of the Heavenly Sanctuary for our sins, because we could NEVER in all eternity overcome sin were it not for the Incarnation sacrifice of Christ of His Life, His Holy Spirit, given, bequeathed to us as a regenerating agency.

Now do you see how Ellen White saw the Sanctuary GONE--the Atonement GONE, and the ministering brethren were looking on, but did not seem to understand? The Upward Look, 152. The trinity doctrine does away with both, and the ministering brethren and their worshipful sheep subjects don't either because they are saying amen to the satanic theories of man inspired by Satan, instead of the glorious truths relative to the great eternal sacrifice of God and His son Jesus. Such Satanic theories of man is what Ellen White refers to in regard to the Omega of Apostasy, Selected Messages, vol. 1, 204-5. She mentions intellectual philosophy replacing pillar doctrines. That is idolatry. That is the worst form of pantheism. This is how pantheism is related to the Omega Heresy Apostasy--the greatest abomination in the history of Christianity, because it involves an intrusion of satanic error into the very Godhead.

May God bless you as you contemplate His great eternal sacrifice for you and I.
