The gentlemen named in the heading of this document all teach that there is no third person to the Godhead; that the Father is the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit is the Father. The error of this position is proven quite simply and clearly in the following statements--one from Scripture and one from the Spirit of Prophecy:

Act 3:26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

"The Power of God in the Third Person.--The prince of the power of evil can only be held in check by the power of God in the third person of the Godhead, the Holy Spirit.-- Special Testimonies, Series A, No. 10, p. 37. (1897).

"Christ is THE SOURCE of every right impulse. He is the ONLY ONE who can arouse in the natural heart, enmity against sin. He is THE SOURCE of our power if we would be saved." E.G. White, Review and Herald, April 1, 1890.

It should be evident to the simplest of minds that God raised up His Son Jesus and sent Him to bless us in turning away every one of us from his iniquities (evil). Then Ellen White agrees with Acts 3:26, by saying that the prince of the power of evil (Satan) can only be held in check by the power of God in the third person of the Godhead, the Holy Spirit.

If the power of evil can be held in check only by the power of God in the third person of the Godhead, the Holy Spirit, and it is Jesus who turns away every one of us from his iniquities (evil), then it is an obvious conclusion that Jesus and the Holy Spirit are one and the same entity.

And, what's more, Ellen White speaks of the Third Person of the Godhead in many statements. The gentle named in the heading of this document do not believe in any third person of the Godhead. In this they directly contradict Ellen White and Scripture.

Some E.G. White Statements on the Third Person of the Godhead

"There are three persons of the Heavenly Trio, in the name of these three great powers -- the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit - those who receive Christ by living faith are baptized." E.G. White, Series B, No. 7, p. 62.

"The Power of God in the Third Person.--The prince of the power of evil can only be held in check by the power of God in the third person of the Godhead, the Holy Spirit.-- Special Testimonies, Series A, No. 10, p. 37. (1897).

"The Holy Spirit has a personality, else He could not bear withness to our spirits and with our spirits that we are the children of God. He must also be a divine person, else He could not search out the secrets which lie hidden in the mind of God." E.G. White The Faith I Live By, p. 52.

Personality of the Holy Spirit.--We need to realize that the Holy Spirit, who is as much a person as God is a person, is walking through these grounds.-- Manuscript 66, 1899. (From a talk to the students at the Avondale School.) Evangelism, p. 616.
