A Proper Response to Ellen White's Statements to the Church—

#1 Broken into Atoms

 “I know that the Lord loves His church. It is not to be disorganized or broken up into independent atoms. There is not the least consistency in this; there is not the least evidence that such a thing will be. Those who shall heed this false message and try to leaven others will be deceived and prepared to receive advanced delusions, and they will come to nought.”  {2SM 68.3}

Dear Reader,

I spend considerable time on SDA Internet forums responding to retorts to my warning message. In the interest of providing my responses to a wider base of professing Seventh-day Adventists, I am going to be adding a record of my Internet forum responses to my Website. This is number 1 by way of an ordered record of such responses. This should give the student some ready answers for those who are perverting the real intent of Ellen White’s statements by misrepresentation and/or misinterpretation.

In this venture, our prime objective will be to strictly employ the following formula. If you have a statement that you believe alters our findings, please feel free to address your grievance to rsbeauli@telusplanet.net

"1. Every word must have its proper bearing on the subject presented in the Bible 2. All Scripture is necessary, and may be understood by diligent application and study 3. Nothing revealed in Scripture can or will be hid from those who ask in faith, not wavering 4. To understand doctrine, bring all the scriptures together on the subject you wish to know, then let every word have its proper influence and if you can form your theory without a contradiction, you cannot be in error 5. Scripture must be its own expositor, [interpreter] since it is a rule of itself. If I depend on a teacher to expound to me, and he should guess at its meaning, or desire to have it so on account of his sectarian creed, or to be thought wise, then his guessing, desire, creed, or wisdom is my rule, and not the Bible." E.G. White, Second Advent Review and Herald, 11-25-34, pr. 24.

The following Ellen G. White statement is always proffered by the apostate leaders and those who follow them, as their support base for not separating from an apostate church no matter what it does.

“I know that the Lord loves His church. It is not to be disorganized or broken up into independent atoms. There is not the least consistency in this; there is not the least evidence that such a thing will be. Those who shall heed this false message and try to leaven others will be deceived and prepared to receive advanced delusions, and they will come to nought.” {2SM 68.3}

Let’s analyze the statement sentence by sentence:

·      “I know that the Lord love His church.” God loved Israel as well, but they played the harlot to the point of unpardonable sin in Jeremiah 11:9-15, as indicated by God’s instruction not to pray for that generation of Israel. Ellen White said that only God’s presence can constitute the church and God does not smell in a “church” that aligns itself with Babylon’s associations, councils and confederacies, just as His presence departed from the Jews in Jeremiah 11:15—“…the holy flesh is passed from thee.” SDA’s have now done everything that generation of Jews did in Jer. 11:9-15, plus all the omega of apostasy violations specified in Selected Messages, 204-5.

·      “It is not to be disorganized or broken up into independent atoms.” The church will not be disorganized or broken into atoms until it is destroyed in another Ezekiel 9 slaughter. Stanton and Caldwell were trying to disorganize the church and break it up into atoms and that was against Ezekiel 9, wherein Jerusalem will stand until it is destroyed by God. But we know by other statements by Ellen White and Scripture, that God does not tolerate in professing Seventh-day Adventists what He did not tolerate in Israel--Jer. 11:9-15 and Isaiah 8:9-14. Ellen White and the pioneers hoped beyond hope that there would not be the need of another coming out, but the Bible and the example of Christ dictate why andwhen separation is necessary: "As reformers they had come out of the denominational churches, but they now act a part similar to that which the churches acted. We hoped that there would not be the necessity for another coming out." Ellen G. White, The Ellen G. White 1888 Materials, Vol. 1, p. 356-7.

·      There is not the least consistency in this; there is not the least evidence that such a thing will be.” The only way to interpret this statement so as not to make her contradict herself and Scripture on another separation, is to conclude that indeed, the SDA church that was later to commit omega apostasy, would not become disorganized and extinct, for that would preclude the fulfillment of other statements by Ellen White, to wit:

·      She said that the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A.D. was a prefigure. (GC, p. 25). In that type, there was a separation from A.D. 27 to A.D. 66, conducted by Christ first, and then His disciples.

·      There was not the least consistency that the church was in danger at the time of Stanton and Caldwell’s teaching that the church was Babylon, because Ellen White clearly says that the church was heeding the Laodicean Message and keeping the commandments in 1893, and was experiencing a spiritual refreshing. This is why Ellen White said what she said in order to stifle a message that was running way ahead of the angel. However, just 10 years later, Ellen White’s Instructor, called the church a harlot, Testimonies, Vol. 8, p. 250, and one would be hard pressed to prove that the church has reformed from that position in light of the omega apostasy, and the teaching by the church of two diametrically opposed gospels.

·      How do we accurse (have nothing to do with) a church that teaches another gospel (one of the two is dead wrong), and remain supporting members at the same time?! How do we remain members and not corporately responsible for the accursed gospel being taught, along with Satan’s teaching on the Godhead. The Godhead is such a crucial issue because everything one believes pivots and clusters around his/her understanding of the Godhead and the human nature of Christ.

·      Ellen White gave a number of statements as to how the church could become a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. The church has fulfilled those statements. What now? Is there any virtue to be gained by membering with and supporting a sister to fallen Babylon?

·      Ellen White said that it is impossible to unite with the corrupt and remain pure. She quotes Scripture to support her statement. Here is that statement: "It is impossible for you to unite with those who are corrupt, and still remain pure. (II Corinthians 6:14, 15 quoted). God and Christ and the heavenly host would have men know that if he unites with the corrupt he will become corrupt." E.G. White, Review and Herald, Vol. 4, p. 137. One would think that considering such a serious pronouncement, that we are given the discernment to recognizing corruption, or the counsel of that statement and its attending biblical support are moot—meaningless to us.

·      The SDA Bible Commentary says that it is IMPOSSIBLE for the wheat to mature among thorns which is a term symbolizing open sinners in the church. Open sinners were to be disfellowshipped if they would not reform, but when the church will NEVER AGAIN show the House of Jacob it’s sins, 5T, 211, what then? What about the impossibility of the wheat maturing THEN?

·      Ezekiel 5:1-3 depicts a small remnant being saved while the remainder of the church is destroyed. This occurred in A.D. 70. This occurred in Nebuchadnezzar’s destructions of Jerusalem as well.

·      Isaiah 37:31 and 32, teach that a remnant will go forth out of Jerusalem, the church militant. Ellen White said that all the ancient prophets wrote more for us than the Jews, and God said they wrote as ensamples unto us to whom the end of the world is come.

·      Isaiah says that seven women (God’s all inclusive number) symbolizing all formally organized churches at the end-time will be doing their own thing; eating their own bread—their own opinions and devisings of men, and wearing their own apparel—their robes of Laodicean self-righteousness—rich, increased with goods, in need of nothing.

·      God says that the 144,000, Revelation 14:1-4, are not defiled with women or fallen churches.

·      Ellen White said that we are corporately responsible for the sins of the church: "The plain straight testimony must live in the church, or the curse of God will rest upon His people as surely as it did upon ancient Israel because of their sins. God holds His people, as a body [corporately], responsible for the sins existing in individuals among them." Testimonies, vol. 3, p. 269. The church will clearly not endure the plain straight testimony. It is teaching two distinctly different gospels—one for the conservatives and one for the liberals. The conservative gospel is correct, but its advocates do not take a correct response to the apostasy when the church has united with the world via association, counsel and confederacy with the fallen churches; adoption of their false Trinity Doctrine, and their Accreditation Standards for education, thus marrying the world to our youth and vice versa. Also, Ellen White said that the fallen churches cannot be distinguished from the world, EW, 273. So to unite with them in any way that would identify us with them, which is exactly what Ellen White said we should not do, unites the church with the world by the principle of corporate responsibility.

·      Did God ever give any church an unconditional promise that they were His people no matter what they did? Not to my knowledge.

The faithful must ask the following questions:

1.   Was the faithful church broken up into atoms when Christ and His disciples separated?

2.   Was the faithful church broken up into atoms when Paul separated?

3.   Was the faithful church broken up into atoms when the Reformation occurred?

4.   Was the faithful church broken up into atoms when SDA's separated from the Reformation churches when they apostatized by not accepting new light?

5.   Was the faithful church broken up into atoms in every succeeding generations since Christ, DA 232, when the ecclesiastical leaders refused new light?

6.   Is the church where God's presence is--where two or three love God and keep the commandments, considered as broken into atoms?

7.   Is the final faithful church broken up into atoms when the Ezekiel 9 separation mentioned by Ellen White occurs? "The angel with the writer's ink horn is to place a mark upon the foreheads of all who are separated from sin and sinners, and the destroying angel follows this angel (Letter 12, 1886). {4BC 1161.5}. Since it is impossible for the wheat to mature amongst open, corrupt sinners, and that omega of apostasy is to wax stronger until the end, how can the faithful remain among what we recognize to be open sin apostasy and be among the wheat that matures?

8.   When God causes the Ezekiel 9 separation from sin and sinners that occurs as a result of the shaking (above EGW statement), is that considered as the church being disorganized and being broken up into atoms?

9.   When the SDA church should no longer operate above ground after the Sunday Law time, is that the church being broken up into atoms?

10. Is the true church of Zion (Heb. 12:22, 23) the heavenly Jerusalem, ever broken up into atoms?

11. Is it possible for the wheat to remain pure and mature among the corrupt? If the church won’t disfellowship the thorns, open sinners, and if the very leadership is the prime runner in bringing sinful apostasy into the church, what then?

12. Ellen White said that the church would change leaders and know it not. What then?

13. If the wheat and tares dwell together until the harvest, why did we have all the examples of separation from sin that I have documented above? The truth is that the church is not supposed to suffer thorns (open sinners) to exist in the church. If the church violates it duty in this area and the leaders are the culprits, which is the case with the SDA church militant, then we have but one course, separation. And if we don’t separate, we become corporately responsible for the KNOWN open sin committed. "The plain straight testimony must live in the church, or the curse of God will rest upon His people as surely as it did upon ancient Israel because of their sins. God holds His people, as a body [corporately], responsible for the sins existing in individuals among them." Testimonies, vol. 3, p. 269.

14. Does God need the SDA church to give the final call to Babylon? No. He said that if the church betrayed its commission the very stones would cry out. Ellen White said God needs nothing: "The Lord Jesus will always have a chosen people to serve Him. When the Jewish people rejected Christ, the Prince of life. He took from them the kingdom of God and gave it unto the Gentiles. God will continue to work on this principle with every branch of His work. When a church proves unfaithful to the work of the Lord, whatever their position may be, however high and sacred their calling, the Lord can no longer work with them. Others are then chosen to bear important responsibilities. But, if these in turn do not purify their lives from every wrong action, if they do not establish pure and holy principles in all their borders, then the Lord will grievously afflict and humble them and, unless they repent, will remove them from their place and make them a reproach.

God is not 'worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing' (Acts 17:25). E. G. White, The Upward Look, 131.

Supporting elaborations by Ellen White that answer the above questions correctly:

"Christ was a protestant...The Reformers date back to Christ and the apostles. They came out and separated themselves from a religion of forms and ceremonies. Luther and his followers did not invent the reformed religion. They simply accepted it as presented by Christ and the apostles." E.G. White, Review and Herald, Vol. 2, 48, col. 2.

Is not Christ our example?

"The Sanhedrin had rejected Christ's message and was bent upon His death therefore Jesus departed from Jerusalem, from the priests, the temple, the religious leaders, the people who had been instructed in the law, and turned to another class to proclaim His message, and to gather out those who should carry the gospel to all nations.

As the light and life of men was rejected by the ecclesiastical authorities in the days of Christ, so it has been rejected in every succeeding generation. Again and again the history of Christ's withdrawal from Judea has been repeated. When the Reformers preached the word of God, they had no thought of separating themselves from the established church but the religious leaders would not tolerate the light, and those that bore it were forced to seek another class, who were longing for the truth. In our day few of the professed followers of the Reformers are actuated by their spirit. Few are listening for the voice of God, and ready to accept truth in whatever guise it may be presented. Often those who follow in the steps of the Reformers are forced to turn away from the churches they love, in order to declare the plain teaching of the word of God. And many times those who are seeking for light are by the same teaching obliged to leave the church of their fathers, that they may render obedience." E.G. White, Desire of Ages, 232.

The above statement clearly says that the reason the reformers separated from the established church is because the religious leaders would not tolerate light. That is a Spirit of Prophecy and Bible sanctioned reason for separating from established churches. The early Jews did the same thing during their early experience in Shiloh:

"The recreant priests added licentiousness to the dark catalogue of their crimes yet they still polluted by their presence the tabernacle of the Lord, and, laden with sin, dared to come into the presence of a holy God. As the men of Israel witnessed the corrupt course of the priests, they thought it safer for their families not to come up to the appointed place of worship. Many went from Shiloh with their peace disturbed, their indignation aroused, until they at last determined to offer their sacrifices themselves, concluding that this would be fully as acceptable to God, as to sanction in any manner the abominations practiced in the Sanctuary." E.G. White, The Signs of the Times, vol. 1, p. 264, col. 3, December 1, 1881.

Paul left

"And as they persisted in their rejection of the gospel the apostle (Paul) went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space for three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God. But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus." Acts, 19:8, 9.

"Fearing that the faith of the believers would be endangered by continued association with these opposers of the truth, Paul separated from them, and gathered the disciples into a distinct body." E.G. White, Acts of the Apostles, p. 286.

Not all tares are to be separated from the wheat. Ellen White defines tares as insincere believers whose motives we would have to judge in order to remove them.

However, she does recognize open sinning tares, and says that they should be removed from the church if they will not reform. When open sinning tares take over a church and become the majority to the point that "nothing is permitted to stand in their way," then the wheat must separate.

"They [the tares in context] are of Satan's sowing, and if left unchecked, will spoil the wheat by their rank growth." E.G. White, Counsels to Parents, Teachers and Students, 189.

Did Christ separate the wheat from the chaff?

"'Whose fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly purge His floor, and gather His wheat into the garner.' [Matt. 3:12]. This was one of the times of purging. By the words of truth, the chaff was being separated from the wheat. Because they were too vain and self-righteous to receive reproof, too world-loving to accept a life of humility, many turned away from Jesus. Many are still doing the same thing. Souls are tested today as were those disciples in the synagogue at Capernaum. When truth is brought home to the heart, they see that their lives are not in accordance with the will of God. They see the need of an entire change in themselves but they are not willing to take up the self-denying work. Therefore they are angry when their sins are discovered. They go away offended, even as the disciples left Jesus, murmuring. This is an hard saying who can hear it?'" Desire of Ages, 392.

Since many of the E.G. White statements I will be responding to involve the following letter to Stanton and Caldwell, I here produce the letter in its entirety.

Change Leaders and Know it Not

Change leaders : "There is manifested on the part of men in responsible positions an unwillingness to confess where they have been in the wrong and their neglect is working disaster, not only to themselves, but to the churches....You will be left to make mistakes of a similar character, you will continue to lack wisdom, and will can sin righteousness and righteousness sin. The multitude of deceptions that will prevail in these last days will encircle you, and you will change leaders, and not know that you have done so." E.G. White, Review and Herald, Vol. 2, 448.

Change Leaders: "Men in positions of responsibility are in danger of changing leaders. This I know, for it has been plainly revealed to me." E.G. White, Series B, #2, p. 48.

Change Leaders: "Men who might have stood in clear light, doing valiant service as ministers of the gospel and medical missionaries, have been accepting false theories and sophistries which originated with the father of lies, and yet they do not realize that they have changed." E.G. White, Special Testimonies, Series B, #7, p. 13-16, November 20, 1905.

Change Leaders: "Satan will set up his hellish banner right in your homes, and you will be so blinded to the real nature of his deceptions that you reverence it as the banner of Christ." E.G. White, The 1888 Materials, p. 505.

Change Leaders: "They will not recognize him [Satan] as their enemy, that old serpent, but they will consider him a FRIEND, one who is doing a good work." Testimonies, vol. 5, p. 294.

Change Leaders: Satan has laid his plans to undermine our faith in the history of the cause and work of God. I am deeply in earnest as I write this. Satan is working with men in prominent positions to sweep away the foundation of our faith. Shall we allow this to be done, brethren?" E.G. White, Review and Herald, Nov. 19, 1903.

Change Leaders if Mistakes are not Admitted and Changed: "If when the Lord reveals your errors you do not repent or make confession, his providence will bring you over the ground again and again. You will be left to make mistakes of a similar character, you will continue to lack wisdom, and will call sin righteousness, and righteousness sin. The multitude of deceptions that will prevail in these last days will encircle you, and you will CHANGE LEADERS, AND NOT KNOW THAT YOU HAVE DONE SO." E.G. White, Review and Herald, vol. 2, p. 449.

Change Leaders: "Satan has COME IN with his specious temptations, and has led the professed followers of Christ away from the [PILOT] Leader (Christ), classing them with the foolish virgins." Testimonies to Ministers, p. 130.

Change Leaders: "Refusing to follow in the path of obedience, they transferred their allegiance to Satan. The enemy rejoiced in his success in effacing the divine image from the minds of the people that God had chosen as His representatives. Through [ECUMENICAL] intermarriage with idolaters and CONSTANT ASSOCIATION WITH THEM [Isa. 8:9-20], Satan brought about that for which he had long been working,--a national apostasy." Fundamentals to Christian Education, p. 449.

Change Leaders: "The recreant priests added licentiousness to the dark catalogue of their crimes yet they still polluted by their presence the tabernacle of the Lord, and, laden with sin, dared to come into the presence of a holy God.

Doing After the Manner of the World at the Time When the Danger to the Church is Greatest

"The leaven if godliness has not entirely lost its power. At the time when the danger and depression of the church are greatest, the little company who are standing in the light will be sighing and crying for the abominations that are done in the land. But MORE ESPECIALLY will their prayers arise in behalf of the church because ITS MEMBERS are doing after the manner of the world." Testimonies, vol. 5, 209, 210.

The above statement is speaking of the great time of Jacob’s trouble! There is a little company, the faithful remnant of Isaiah 37:31, 32, and Ezekiel 5:1-3, who are standing in the light. Are they members of the church? Evidently not, for the MEMBERS of the church are doing after the manner of the world.

And how do we know that the above statement is strictly speaking about the professing Seventh-day Adventist church? Because in its context, which begins on page 207,  Ellen White begins the chapter by quoting Ezekiel 9, and Ezekiel 9 is concerned with Jerusalem, and spiritual Jerusalem at the end-time is the professing SDA church militant.

Friend, God has given us license to come and reason together. How could all of the above facts be reasoned other than I have done, without contradicting? If someone has the answer to this riddle, I will publish it on my Website and renounce my warning message. But I forewarn you friend, my message was given me by God Almighty, and you will not have an easy task trying to refute the above conclusions.

The most solid conclusion that anyone could come to in regard to all “questionable” E.G. White statements relative to separation, is the fact that finally, in 1909, just six years before her death, she said that Ezekiel 9 will be literally fulfilled. In A.D. 70, the fulfillment of Ezekiel 9 demanded another coming out from apostate Judaism. Ellen White called that a prefigure, as I have stated many times. Any LITERAL FULFILLMENT of that chapter DEMANDS A SEPARATION from Jerusalem, the SDA church, into which the tares, dross, will be shaken. The wheat is shaken into the heavenly garner, Hebrews 12:22, 23.

In all truthfulness, this evidence was stated in the first publication of The Great Controversy, but as stated, Ellen White hoped against hope that there would not be the need for another coming out. But this 1909 statement, combined with her stating that A.D. 70 was a prefigure, says it all:

"Study the 9th chapter of Ezekiel. These words will be literally fulfilled yet the time is passing, and the people are asleep. They refuse to humble their souls and to be converted. Not a great while longer will the Lord bear with the people who have such great and important truths revealed to them, but who refuse to bring these truths into their individual experience. The time is short. God is calling will YOU hear? Will YOU receive His message? Will YOU be converted before it is too late? Soon, very soon, every case will be decided for eternity. Letter 106, 1909, pp. 2, 3, 5, 7. (To "The churches in Oakland and Berkeley, September 26, 1909.)" E. G. White Manuscript Releases Volume One, p. 260.

In the prefigure, the following took place:

·      Jesus gathered out the faithful from the apostate church. DA 232, until A.D. 66, 3 ˝ years before the destruction of Jerusalem, SDA Bible Commentary, Vol. 5, p. 74-77.

·      The dross (tares and open apostate thorn sinners) were gathered into the midsts of Jerusalem for burning and melting, Ezekiel 22:17-31.

·      This prefigure and Ellen White’s prophecy that it will be LITERALLY FULFILLED again, is irrefutable evidence demanding another coming out. There is no room for error.

God bless all,
