Question: Does a prophet know everything? Should a prophet know everything?

Answer:

·       No. Remember when Elijah though he was the only one in the land that had not bowed the knee to Baal and God told him there were seven thousand others who had not done so?

·       Some say that if so and so was a true prophet, he/she should have known this or that. Were that true, then Elijah should have known that there were seven thousand others who had not bowed the knee to Baal.

·       The 7,000 others who had not bowed the knee to Baal, apparently did not manifest the signs and wonders that Elijah did against the prophets of Baal. This is high evidence that all of the 144,000 will not be doing so. The 144,000 will not necessarily manifest the same signs and wonders that Ellen White exhibited, although some will work miracles. But Ellen White said that miracles will not be a test at the end-time because Satan will be working them as well.

Question: Will all of the 144,000 manifest all of the tests of a prophet?

Answer:

·       It can be proven that the 144,000 are the bride of Christ. The disciples were part of that bride, Desire of Ages, 179. They did not manifest all the signs of a true prophet such as going into trance, losing all strength, performing demonstrations of super-human strength, having public visions and dreams etc. They did heal and when they spoke those who heard them heard in their own language. So they manifested the true gift of tongues. This fact that the bride of Christ per the disciples did not manifest all the signs of a prophet, is proof absolute that all of the 144,000 will not be so invested.

·       Concerning a conference in 1856 Ellen White declared: “I was shown the company present at the conference. Said the angel: 'Some food for worms, some subjects of the seven last plagues, some will be alive and remain upon the earth to be translated at the coming of Jesus.' Solemn words were these, spoken by the angel.”--1T, pp. 131, 132. {1BIO 339.4}

·       Ellen White saw that some present at that conference would be alive and remain upon the earth to be translated at the coming of Jesus.

·       Those folk were not exhibiting all the signs of a true prophet at that time. There is no record that they were going into trance, losing their breath; losing all strength and/or having public vision and doing supernatural feats.

·       The only way they could be part of the 144,000 now is by regeneration.

·       There is no record that ALL of the prophets of the Bible fulfilled all the 12 tests of a prophets, such as losing their breath and performing super-natural feats etc. One does not have to fulfill all the tests of a prophet to be one of the 144,000. They will be blameless.

·       One does not have to fulfill ALL the signs of a prophet to stop sinning.

·       There is no record that the 144,000 will “ALL” have “ALL” the signs of a prophet. The 144,000 will be blameless. They will not be sinning.

·       “ALL” those who have visions and dreams per Joel 2:28, 29, will not necessarily demonstrate all the signs of a prophet. They may not lose their breath; go into trance; lost all strength and/or demonstrate super human strength etc. They don't have to demonstrate such to be overcomers. And they don't have to have public visions and dreams. They will be complete overcomers of all sin.

·       Some have already reported dreams and visions which accord with God’s Word, and they have not had all the signs Ellen White had, just as the disciples of Christ did not have all the signs Ellen White had.

·       Ellen White said that miracles will not be a test at the end-time because Satan will be working them as well.

Question: Was Abraham married to Hagar or was she a concubine?

Answer:

·       Abraham was married to Hagar as his second wife, by Caesar’s standards, but that was polygamy and God does not recognize polygamy. That is why I said he was in a concubine relationship. Ellen White says he was married to a second wife and that such constituted polygamy on Abraham’s part.

Question: Does relating the sins of ancient prophets excuse us to do the same things today?

Answer:

·       Of course not. I cited those examples to demonstrate there is hope for those today who have been most zealous in the cause of Satan, as was the case with Solomon, Paul, David, etc. Such violators, who sincerely repent, by turning from such a lifestyle, can actually become the bride of Christ and be seated nearest Him on His throne:

·       "Nearest the throne are those who were once zealous in the cause of Satan, but who, plucked as brands from the burning, have followed their Saviour with deep, intense devotion. Next are those who perfected Christian characters in the midst of falsehood and infidelity, those who honored the law of God when the Christian world declared it void, and the millions, of all ages, who were martyred for their faith. And beyond is the "great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, . . . before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands." Revelation 7:9. Their warfare is ended, their victory won. They have run the race and reached the prize. The palm branch in their hands is a symbol of their triumph, the white robe an emblem of the spotless righteousness of Christ which now is theirs." E.G. White, The Great Controversy, p. 665.

·       All men everywhere will have to repent of all sin in order to be saved.

·       By giving encouraging examples from Scripture, I am not attempting to justify sin in myself or anyone else, for all who not sincerely repent of sin will be lost.
