What the SDA Church is Doing to Our Youth by Dr.'s Russell and Colin Standish – Part II

Isa 3:12 [As for] my people, children [are] their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause [thee] to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.

Dear Reader,

Many parents and church officials are in wonderment as to why SDA youth are going out the back door as fast as they enter the front door. This series of chapters from the book Half a Century of Apostasy, by Dr.’s Russell and Colin Standish, should leave no doubt in the discerning mind as to what the church is doing to our youth.

Chapter 73

Youth Camp Music

An interview with a non-Adventist singer engaged to sing to the youth at the Easter Western Australian Camp, asked the title of the singer’s latest album. He replied, “Jam’in the Blues.” A Seventh-day Adventist musical group known as “the Midnight Cry” was also listed to sing to the youth at the Camp. In an interview with them they were asked where the title came from. A number of replies were given by the various members of the group. Included were: “I suppose it came from our Adventist background,” “It had a bit of a bluesy feel to it,” “It was one of those names that can be light or heavy.”

One very significant answer was: “It’s a pretty good name. One that can be used for tricking old people into thinking we are a serious band.” One young man was at least insightful, perhaps much more than he realised – “We are really the “Great Disappointment.” The final word of the group was, “The main aim of worship is to make it exciting. This is what we will try to do in the Youth Shed [site of Youth Meetings at the Camp] this year.” (FRESH BREAD, 1 April, 1995, official publication of the Youth Department of Western Australian Conference).

Do not blame the youth. The responsibility of this utter folly rests upon many of our Church administrators and parents and lay people who provide evidence that they have absolutely no care for the souls of our children. What has been presented is simply the tip of an iceberg. Blasphemous use of Biblical terms such as the Midnight Cry [Matt. 25:6] are all too frequent.

Another youth rock band in our Church at the same time, which was noted for its ear-splitting music, mocked the prophecy of Daniel chapter 2 by calling itself “Iron and Clay.” When it performed at one Youth Evangelistic Meeting, a number of citizens residing nearby complained to civil authorities because of the noise pollution it engendered.

At all levels of our organization, there appears to be an orchestrated and intense programme to destroy our young people, and lead them to perdition. Our counsel to God’s people is that the time is here to take your children and youth out of most Earliteen and Youth Sabbath Schools, discard their Quarterlies, remove them from Youth Camps and Pathfinder Camps. Their salvation demands no less.

Surely sane ministers do not believe that such activities prepare our youth for their heavenly heritage. Are there those in our midst who are determined to lead our youth to damnation? Where are the laypeople in our midst to demand, “Halt this carnage among our youth?!”

Every inducement that Satan can invent is pressed upon them [our youth] to make them indifferent and careless in regard to eternal things. (Testimonies for the Church, Vol. 3, p. 379).

Our youth require wise counsel. Parents, do not encourage them to attend disgraceful Conference Youth Programmes.

These youth, in their inexperience, needed a wise, firm hand to point out the right way and to bar with counsel and restraint the wrong way. (Testimonies for the Church, Vol. 5, p. 40).

They [young people] should be taught that this world is not a parade ground, but a battlefield. All are called to endure hardness, as good soldiers. They are to be strong, and quit [To conduct (oneself) in a specified way: Quit yourselves like adults.] themselves like men. Let them be taught that the true test of character is found in the willingness to bear burdens, to take the hard place, to do the work that needs to be done, though it bring no earthly recognition or reward.

There is no greater curse upon households than to allow the youth to have their own way. (My Life Today, p. 319).

If the senior members of the Hamilton Church in Newcastle, which we attended as early teenagers in the 1940’s were to be raised again to life and were ushered into numerous Seventh-day Adventist Churches today, unaware of the day of the week or the denomination of the Church, we wonder what they would conclude. One matter is certain, they would KNOW it was not a Seventh-day Adventist Church. They would also certainly conclude that it was not an Anglican, Presbyterian, Methodist, Congregational or Baptist Church, for they would conclude that none of these Churches would dare to blaspheme their God in such a fashion. It is likely that these dear, faithful human pillars of the faith, would draw the conclusion that they had entered into a Church of Satan and would flee from its precincts in horror. Why, oh why do we today dare to shame our God with such irreverence? End chapter.

Note by Ron: We are in the Omega of Heresy. What was Ellen White’s counsel in the Alpha?

"There is a little hope in one direction: Take the young men and women, and place them where they will come as little in contact with our churches as possible, that the low grade of piety which is current in this day shall not leaven their ideas of what it means to be a Christian." E.G. White, Manuscript Release #995, p. 5.

Yet, even an SDA trained minister who believes he is part of an elite class of called out individuals, is instructing all members to remain at the new movement Omega Heresy church, when the Omega is far worse than the Alpha! He is going directly contrary to Ellen White’s instruction in the Alpha Heresy.

"Brother and sister Haskell have rented a house in one of the best parts of the city, and have gathered round them a family of helpers, who day by day go out giving Bible readings, selling our papers, and doing medical missionary work. During the hour of worship, the workers relate their experiences. Bible studies are regularly conducted in the home, and THE YOUNG MEN AND YOUNG WOMEN connected with the mission receive a practical, thorough training in holding Bible readings and in selling our publications. The Lord has blessed their labors, a number have embraced the truth, and many others are deeply interested." Review and Herald, September 7, 1905, Evangelism, p. 108.

“There will have to be a second conversion in the hearts of some of our leading medical fraternity, and a cutting away from the men who are trying to guide the medical ship into the harbor, else they themselves will never reach the haven of rest. Christ calls, Come out from among them, and be ye separate.

I write this because any moment my life may be ended. Unless there is a BREAKING AWAY from the influence that Satan has prepared, and a reviving of the testimonies that God has given, souls will perish in their delusion. They will accept fallacy after fallacy, and will thus keep up a disunion that will always exist until those who have been deceived take their stand on the right platform. All this higher education that is being planned will be extinguished for it is spurious. The more simple the education of our workers, the less connection they have with the men whom God is not leading, the more will be accomplished. Work will be done in the simplicity of true godliness, and the old, old times will be back when under the Holy Spirit’s guidance, thousands were converted in a day. When the truth in its simplicity is lived in every place, then God will work through His angels as He worked on the day of Pentecost, and hearts will be changed so decidedly that there will be a manifestation of the influence of genuine truth, as is represented in the descent of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit never has, and never will in the future, divorce the medical missionary work from the gospel ministry. They cannot be divorced.  Bound up with Jesus Christ, the ministry of the word and the healing of the sick are one.

The fifty-eighth chapter of Isaiah contains instruction for today. “Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and show My people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sin.” God does not accept Dr. Kellogg as His labourer, unless he will now break with Satan. The work would not have been hindered as it has been for the past several years if Dr. Kellogg were a converted man. “Come,” I call, “come ye out and be separate from him and his associates whom he has leavened.” I am now giving the message God has given me, to give to all who claim to believe the truth: “Come out from among them, and be ye separate,” else their sin in justifying wrongs and framing deceits will continue to be the ruin of souls. We cannot afford to be on the wrong side. We cannot afford to cover the truth with scientific problems. We urge that decided changes be made, and no more stumbling-blocks be placed before the feet of the people of God. Let every soul put on the gospel shoes. Let every soul pray and work, placing their feet upon the foundation Christ laid in giving His life for the life of the world.” E.G. White, Special Testimonies, Series B., No. 7 (1906), pp. 63, 64.

What, pray tell, would Ellen White say today regarding the Omega Heresy that is rife all through the ranks? And yet even so-called reformer messengers who claim to be giving the message of righteousness by faith, are saying that we do not have to come out from such apostasy. They are telling the people to let the adults and the youth remain in the new movement of Omega Heresy to be destroyed. Such men and women are the real murderers of the murderous city, Matthew 22:7. Though the murder they aid and abet is delayed, they are non-the-less murderers!

"If God abhors one sin above another, of which HIS PEOPLE are guilty, it is of doing nothing in a case of emergency. Indifference or neutrality in a religious crisis is regarded of God as a grievous crime and equal to the very worst type of hostility against God." E.G. White, Review and Herald, vol. 1, p. 136. Also, Testimonies, Vol. 3, p. 281.

Chapter 74

Ear-Piercing Music

The Walla Walla [Seventh-day Adventist] College, in the North Pacific Union, in its student paper, Collegian, 30 November 1995, announced the presence of a group of performers called Audio Adrenaline presenting their Satanic blasphemy at the College alumni Gym. Portion of the report is cited below:

Audio Adrenaline has a sound that is an incendiary musical mix of rock, R&B, and punk. Because of their spontaneous and adventurous nature, the band has earned a reputation for eccentric and entertaining performances.

This concert is a prayerful attempt by us, the ASWWC Spiritual VPs, to meet the needs of a greater number of students that typically attended Christian concerts here on campus.

“I went to this concert the music was real loud

They sang about Jesus as I listened amidst a dry ice cloud 30,000 watts of audio energy was bustin’ through my ears and made me want to be a hard rock roller

A wild man in the crowd with a silver mic in one hand and a guitar to make it loud

A man with a mission that needs to be hear

A supersonic preacher screamin’ out the word.” (Walla Walla Student Paper, Collegian, 30 November, 1995).

Speaking of the uncouth fanaticism of the Holy Flesh Movement in Indiana in 1900, Sister White stated:

The things you have described as taking place in Indiana, the Lord has shown me would take place just before the close of probation. Every uncouth thing will be demonstrated. There will be shouting, with drums, music, and dancing. The senses of rational beings will become so confused that they cannot be trusted to make right decisions. And this is called the moving of the Holy Spirit. [The book stops quoting here. Ron is finishing the quote from this point on.]

The Holy Spirit never reveals itself in such methods, in such a bedlam of noise. This is an invention of Satan to cover up his ingenious methods for making of none effect the pure, sincere, elevating, ennobling, sanctifying truth for this time. Better never have the worship of God blended with music, than to use musical instruments to do the work which last January was represented to me would be brought into our camp meetings. The truth for this time needs nothing of this kind in its work of converting souls. A bedlam of noise shocks the senses and perverts that which if conducted aright might be a blessing. The powers of satanic agencies blend with the din and noise, to have a carnival, and this is termed the Holy Spirit's working." E. G. White,  Selected Messages, Vol. 2, 36. [End of chapter 74.]

Note by Ron: Notice that Ellen White was shown that such uncouth things would be brought into our campmeetings “just before the close of probation.” This is an awesome proof of the veracity of Ellen White as a true prophet! Why the authors would crop the last paragraph of the statement I don’t know!

God bless,
