Subject: American President in Adventist Religious Liberty Video

Dear Friends of Freedom,

I have some very exciting news to share with you. For the

first time in history, the President of the United States

is appearing in our religious liberty video. I received his

contribution from the White House last week, and we have

already reedited our religious liberty video to include his

In the video the President talks about the principles of religious freedom, and his appreciation of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. At one point the President states "the Seventh-day Adventist Church has enriched America... your

individual churches are providing hope and inspiration to countless Americans every week." He also notes that he is "honored" to join with Adventists as we look back on our history in the video.

The President is not the only American leader to appear in

this year's religious liberty video. Senator Kerry, a leading Democratic, appears in a segment where he mentions Seventh-day Adventists. President Clinton also appears in a still shot thanking a Seventh-day Adventist for his work on an important piece of religious liberty legislation.

In addition to the President's message to Seventh-day Adventists, the reedited video includes an addendum that introduces viewers to a new internship program for Adventists who are interested in working with our religious liberty team on Capitol Hill. One young Adventist who saw the reedited video said at the end that it "makes me proud of my church." I think you will really enjoy it if you see it.

If you, your church, or your school would like a copy of the reedited video, simply visit our secure website:

If you have difficulty accessing the secure website directly, please go to and click on the button entitled "Support Freedom" on the left hand side of the page. This button will take you to the secure site where you can order a copy of the video.

With the arrival of the President's video, Christmas has come a few days early for our religious liberty team this year! May this holiday be a time when we draw closer to each other as we draw closer to our Lord. Merry Christmas from Capitol Hill,

James Standish
