Harlotry

Isa 1:21 How is the faithful city become an harlot! it was full of judgment; righteousness lodged in it; but now murderers.

DD, is grossly misrepresenting my position on Testimonies, Vol. 8, 250, wherein Ellen White calls the church a harlot. For years, DD denied that God was calling the church a harlot through Ellen White. Now he admits to that, but is misrepresenting my position on that statement by Ellen White. Here is what he is saying on SDA forums and/or his website. I will intersperse my rebuttal to DD within the context of his erroneous statements below:

“The terrible conclusion of Separatist is that the divine Spirit of God left the Seventh-day Adventist organization, never to return, is based entirely upon a misinterpretation of a passage wrested from its context. The passage is found in Testimonies for the Church, vol. 8, p. 250, and reads as follows:   “Who can truthfully say, ‘Our gold is tried in the fire; our DDments are unspotted by the world’? I saw our Instructor pointing to the DDments of so-called righteousness. Stripping them off, He laid bare the defilement beneath. Then He said to me: ‘Can you not see how they have pretentiously covered up their defilement and rottenness of character? “How is the faithful city become a harlot?” My Father’s house is made a house of merchandise, a place whence the divine presence and glory have departed. For this cause there is weakness, and strength is lacking’”   Like an inverted pyramid, the accusing message proclaiming the church to be Babylon rests upon this single passage there are other quotes used but 8T 250 is the cornerstone. If examination shows that the interpretation of this passage by the exponents of this doctrine of denunciation is false, and contrary to the thought of the writer, the entire structure must fall. The importance of this passage, and the date of its writing, are constantly stressed by the website of Omega Countdown Ministries propaganda. Only so can this accusing movement claim to escape the condemnation uttered against the false teachers, who in 1893 were teaching that the ‘remnant church’ had become Babylon.”

Ron responds:  I have NEVER taught “The terrible conclusion of Separatist is that the divine Spirit of God left the Seventh-day Adventist organization, never to return...” You can search my Website and anything I have EVER written and you will not find such a charge! I would never make such a foolish indictment when the same page calls for reformation. This is a totally false charge by DD_  Z_ _ _ _ _/

DD continues: “One month later than the appearance of the statement that the Seventh-day Adventist Church had been cast off, the same accuser tells us why he believes that the instruction given by Mrs. White that the “remnant church” is “not Babylon” no longer applies. He admits that up to the early nineties it was “a very serious mistake for anyone to denounce that church as ‘Babylon,’” but puts forth the claim that Church has been taken over m[b]y the New Movement that it is the duty of the “reformers” now to denounce her as Babylon.

Ron’s response to DD: DD is not the least bit trustworthy. I have never said that the church became a new movement in the early nineties. I believe and have taught that the church rejoined Babylon’s associations, counsels/councils, girdings and confederacies (Isaiah 8:9-12) since the early 1960’s, and God’s Word (Isaiah 8:9-12) gives one option for such liaison with His enemies—BROKEN IN PIECES. This is why the margin of my King James Bible gives the following definition for the Ezekiel 9:2, for the words: “slaughter weapon:” --“a weapon of His breaking in pieces.” So Ezekiel 9 slaughter will be because God’s people have married themselves to God’s enemies in violation of the second angel’s message and the Midnight Cry, which Ellen White said gave power to the second angel’s message. She also said that those who violate these messages KNOWINGLY will find it IMPOSSIBLE to get back on the pathway to heaven, to wit:

 "While praying at the family altar, the Holy Ghost fell on me, and I seemed to be rising higher and higher, far above the dark world. I turned to look for the Advent people in the world, but could not find them--when a voice said to me, 'Look again, and look a little higher.' At this I raised my eyes and saw a straight and narrow path cast up high above the world. On this path the Advent people were traveling to the City, which was at the farther end of the path. They had a bright light set up behind them at the first end of the path, which an angel told me was the Midnight Cry. This light shone all along the path, and gave light for their feet so they might not stumble. And if they kept their eyes fixed on Jesus, who was just before them, leading them to the City, they were safe. But soon some grew weary, and they said the City was a great way of, and they expected to have entered it before. Then Jesus would encourage them by raising his glorious right arm, and from his arm came a glorious light which waved over the Advent band, and they shouted Hallelujah! Others rashly denied the light behind them, and said that it was not God that had led them out so far. The light behind them went out leaving their feet in perfect darkness, and they stumbled and got their eyes off the mark and lost sight of Jesus, and fell off the path down in the dark and wicked world below. It was just as impossible for them to get on the path again and go to the City, as all the wicked world which God had rejected. They fell all the way along the path one after another, until we heard the voice of God like many waters, which gave us the day and hour of Jesus' coming....

By this time the 144,000 were all sealed and perfectly united. On their foreheads was written, God, New Jerusalem, and a glorious Star containing Jesus' new name." E.G. White, Word to the Little Flock, p. 14.

The above statement is supported by Jeremiah 11:9-15, wherein God instructs Jeremiah not to even pray for the Jews of that generation because they conspired with God’s enemies. That, my friend, connotes unpardonable sin. That is God’s line in the sand.

DD continues: “At this juncture let us call to mind certain dates; first the date under which the Testimony entitled The Remnant Church Not Babylon, was first presented—March 23, 1893; and another date—one of incomparable importance in the history of the Seventh-day Adventist Church—that is 8T 250 given on April 21, 1903 .… A most vital truth is herein involved.   “The fact of the church’s Spirit pronounced condemnation and final renouncement was made known to her in a Testimony given April 21, 1903 (8T 250)....that was a decade, approximately, after the servant of God stated that the church was not Babylon. “Let us consider calmly and unprejudicedly, this most remarkable message in which is contained the startling exposure of the Seventh-day Adventist Church’s spiritually corrupt condition, also her just condemnation as declared by Christ Himself (‘our Instructor’) on that fateful day, April 21, 1903. when 8T 250 was given”   The passage in the Testimony is then quoted, but Omega Countdown Ministries finds it necessary to make two interpolations in order to put into the mind of the reader the false interpretation he wishes him to accept. I[n] order to make clear this addition of this private interpretation, we quote the sentences again as the critic set them forth:   “Who can truthfully say, ‘Our [meaning the Seventh-day Adventist Church’s] gold is tried in the fire; our DDments are unspotted by the world’? ... ‘How is the faithful city become a HARLOT’ [or Babylon]?”

Ron responds: Whatever DD’s intended meaning in the above paragraph, I don’t know. It is beyond my understanding, but I have never taught separation based on 8T 250, or that harlotry is unpardonable sin. We all have committed harlotry in sinning.

DD continued: “Both these interpolations are misleading. True, Babylon is called a “harlot” in the Scriptures. But in the passage as quoted from Isaiah 1:21 there is no reference to Babylon. On the contrary, the words were spoken to God’s backslidden people, and in close connection with that wonderful assurance that “though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.” Let us note the earmarks of the enemy of our souls in any effort today to disconnect these words from the promise and assurance of a possible forgiveness.”

DD

Ron responds to DD’s lying misrepresentations: DD is flat out implying that because Isaiah 1:21 makes no reference to Babylon that those words were merely spoken to a backslidden Israel, and that they reaped the promise of wonderful assurance that “thought your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.” How’s that for a total misrepresentation of God’s Word! How’s that for an abominable peace and safety lie?! Did the Jews reap that wonderful assurance, or were they destroyed in A.D. 70, except for a small remnant who left the apostate Temple and formed home churches? (See scriptures testifying of those home churches at the bottom of this document).

DD, you are correct in rebuking SOME separatists for using 8T 250 as a pretext for separation. They indeed do wrest that statement out of its context, for the very next paragraph appeals for a revival and reform. I have NEVER used 8T 250 as a pretext for separation. However, you did the same type of WRESTING of my teachings today and Ellen White yesterday, which you errantly accuse me of, when you misinterpreted her statement using Isaiah 60, relative to those who God commands to “rise and shine,” as being the church militant rather than the true reformers, the 144,000, the church triumphant—Zion, cf. Isaiah 62, which I will deal with in a separate document.

All I ask in reference to the 8T 250 statement is: WHEN DID THE REVIVAL AND REFORMATION TAKE PLACE? Please give me a SOP statement that says the church ceased to be a harlot. I have high evidence that the church is far more in apostasy now than at any point in Ellen White's life time. I have given Ellen White’s statement quoting the apostles that God will instruct that a “chosen” people at the end time should not be prayed for and the only people I know of who call themselves “chosen” and a “remnant” like the Jews of old, is the professing Seventh-day Adventist new movement (1SM 204-205).

You do misrepresent my use of 8T 250, and you will answer for that. Ellen White called the church a harlot four times and I don't know when she changed that assessment. Surely, she would have to call the church something worse than a harlot today because the church ceased playing the harlot to marry into Satan's Synagogue by ecumenical liaison with Babylon--returning to the trough it came out of in 1844.

The same statement of 8T 250 is spoken of the Jews in Isaiah 1:21, to wit:

Isa 1:21 How is the faithful city become an harlot! it was full of judgment; righteousness lodged in it; but now murderers.

However, God made many overtures to Israel to repent and be converted of her harlotry and return to Him. I have NEVER taught that harlotry is not repentable. Indeed, the very next paragraph in 8T 250, calls for a reformation just as God’s prophets of old called for a reformation of Israel from its harlotry. I have ALWAYS taught that harlotry is repentable. I have also ALWAYS taught God’s and Ellen White’s teaching that harlotry can be carried to a point that it is unpardonable. That point is defined by God in Jeremiah 11:9-15, wherein he tells Jeremiah not to pray for that generation of Jews. I say that generation because general probation for Israel did not close until A.D. 34, at which time the 490 years of Daniel’s prophecy (Daniel 9) ended. Israel did not repent within that allotted time so it was destroyed in A.D. 70.

Here is Ellen White’s statement in 8T 250:

“God has not changed toward His faithful servants who are keeping their DDments spotless. But many are crying, "Peace and safety," while sudden destruction is coming upon them
. Unless there is thorough repentance, unless men humble their hearts by confession and receive the truth as it is in Jesus, they will never enter heaven. When purification shall take place in our ranks, we shall no longer rest at ease, boasting of being rich and increased with goods, in need of nothing. {8T 250.1}

     Who can truthfully say: "Our gold is tried in the fire; our DDments are unspotted by the world"? I saw our Instructor pointing to the DDments of so-called righteousness. Stripping them off, He laid bare the defilement beneath. Then He said to me: "Can you not see how they have pretentiously covered up their defilement and rottenness of character? 'How is the faithful city become an harlot!' My Father's house is made a house of merchandise, a place whence the divine presence and glory have departed! For this cause there is weakness, and strength is lacking." {8T 250.2}

     A Call For Reformation

    “Unless the church, which is now being leavened with her own backsliding, shall repent and be converted, she will eat of the fruit of her own doing, until she shall abhor herself. When she resists the evil and chooses the good, when she seeks God with all humility and reaches her high calling in Christ, standing on the platform of eternal truth and by faith laying hold upon the attainments prepared for her, she will be healed. She will appear in her God-given simplicity and

                                                                            251

purity, separate from earthly entanglements, showing that the truth has made her free indeed. Then her members will indeed be the chosen of God, His representatives. {8T 250.3}

     The time has come for a thorough reformation to take place. When this reformation begins, the spirit of prayer will actuate every believer and will banish from the church the spirit of discord and strife. Those who have not been living in Christian fellowship will draw close to one another. One member working in right lines will lead other members to unite with him in making intercession for the revelation of the Holy Spirit. There will be no confusion, because all will be in harmony with the mind of the Spirit. The barriers separating believer from believer will be broken down, and God's servants will speak the same things. The Lord will co-operate with His servants. All will pray understandingly the prayer that Christ taught His servants: "Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." Matthew 6:10.  (252) {8T 251.1}

The Point at Which Harlotry is not Repentable and Becomes Unpardonable Sin

I have taught this to DD for ten years now, and he still chooses to misrepresent what I have told him times over every year for the last ten! The point at which harlotry becomes unpardonable, is when God’s people JOIN IN CONSPIRACY/CONFEDERACY with His enemies. This can occur on a generational basis as Jeremiah 11:9-15 attests. Israel of that day formed a conspiracy with God’s enemies. That was like becoming married to them instead of God. So God gave them up to their enemies and instructed Jeremiah not to even pray for them. Ellen White quotes the apostles as saying that this very same thing WILL happen to SDA’s, at the end-time, to wit:

COUNTERPART: "The Lord commanded one of his ancient servants, 'Pray not thou for this people [Jer. 7:16 and 11:14], neither lift up cry nor prayer for them neither make intercession to me for I will not hear thee.' The prophet thus describes the sins which had called forth this fearful denunciation: 'The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means and my people love to have it so and what will ye do in the end thereof?' 'From the least of them even unto the greatest of them, every one is given to covetousness and from the prophet even unto the priest, every one dealeth falsely. They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace, when there is no peace.' The apostles declare that this state of things will find its COUNTERPART in the last days. Many have a form of godliness, but in their daily life deny the power thereof. They have ceased to be convicted of their sins or alarmed at their state. They say in their hearts, 'The church is flourishing. Peace and spiritual prosperity are within her borders.' The words of the prophet may well apply to these self-deceivers, 'They have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations. I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them." E. G. White, Second Advent Review and Sabbath Herald,  11-07-82.

The only people who can COUNTERPART the Jews, a chosen people, is SDA’s, a chosen people.

"Shall the Lord be compelled to say, `Pray not thou for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them, neither make intercession to Me: for I will not hear thee' [Jeremiah 7:16]? `Therefore the showers have been withholden, and there hath been no latter rain....Wilt thou not from this time cry unto Me, My Father, thou art the guide of my youth' [Jeremiah 3:3-4]?...

We are to be judged by the light that has been given us,(159) and we can find no excuse by which to extenuate our course." Review and Herald, Vol. 3, p 69-70 (August 1, 1893). (Brackets by Ellen White)

COUNTERPART: "In the time of the Saviour, the Jews had so covered over the precious jewels of truth with the rubbish of tradition and fable, that it was impossible to distinguish the true from the false. The Saviour came to clear away the rubbish of superstition and long-cherished errors, and to set the jewels of God's word in the framework of truth. What would the Saviour do if he should come to us now as he did to the Jews? He would have to do a similar work in clearing away the rubbish of tradition and ceremony. The Jews were greatly disturbed when he did this work [As are SDAs today!]. They had lost sight of the original truth of God, but Christ brought it again to view. It is our work to free the precious truths of God from superstition and error." E.G. White,  Review and Herald, Vol. 2, 308.

The Lord commanded one of his ancient servants, "Pray not thou for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them; neither make intercession to me; for I will not hear thee." The prophet thus describes the sins which had called forth this fearful denunciation: "The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so; and what will ye do in the end thereof?" "From the least of them even unto the greatest of them, every one is given to covetousness; and from the prophet even unto the priest, every one dealeth falsely. They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace, when there is no peace." {RH, November 7, 1882 par. 8}

Scripture on Home Churches

Act 16:32 And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.

Act 16:34 And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.

Act 16:40 And they went out of the prison, and entered into [the house of] Lydia: and when they had seen the brethren, they comforted them, and departed.

Act 18:7 And he departed thence, and entered into a certain [man's] house, named Justus, [one] that worshipped God, whose house joined hard to the synagogue.

Rom 16:5 Likewise [greet] the church that is in their house. Salute my well beloved Epaenetus, who is the firstfruits of Achaia unto Christ.

1Cr 1:11 For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them [which are of the house] of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.

1Cr 16:15 I beseech you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and [that] they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints,)

1Cr 16:19 The churches of Asia salute you. Aquila and Priscilla salute you much in the Lord, with the church that is in their house.

The main hindrance

The main hindrance for corporate [corporate] SDA in understanding the clear crystal truth for this time is emphasised in these prophetic words: "By uniting with the world and partaking of its spirit, they have come to view matters in nearly the same light; and when the test is brought, they are prepared to choose the easy, popular side. Men of talent and pleasing address, who once rejoiced in the truth, employ their powers to deceive and mislead souls. They become the most bitter enemies of their former brethren.{GC88 608.1}

However I have a big question mark in my mind and this issue is about the fate of those watching all these things happening within SDA Corporation without taking a clear stand for truth...! I have a lot of  " Whistle Blowers" sda shooting me with all kind of informations about the bad practices of SDA religious "Tycoons"...however they are asking me: Where to go, I have no church no place to meet people or discuss Bible etc...I have children, my family etc...What should I do?..And of course I am not inspired to tell all these people : get out of this organized religion because they are not prepared to cope with this....! I am very very sad for this because for instance in my country the sda are not able to understand this new faith experience.....Very bad and confused time for a honest soul....

George,

It is interesting to me that away back in the time of Shiloh, where the ark of the Tabernacle was for 300 years, the people did not wonder what to do! They offerred their sacrifices themselves rather than to go to the appointed place of worship. Then, we have the example of Jesus in separating from the apostasy and the disciples established home churches.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shiloh_(biblical_city)

“The ark remained at Shiloh for three hundred years, until, because of the sins of Eli's house, it fell into the hands of the Philistines, and Shiloh was ruined. The ark was never returned to the tabernacle here, the sanctuary service was finally transferred to the temple at Jerusalem, and Shiloh fell into insignificance. There are only ruins to mark the spot where it once stood. Long afterward its fate was made use of as a warning to Jerusalem. "Go ye now unto My place which was in Shiloh," the Lord declared by the prophet Jeremiah, "where I set My name at the first, and see what I did to it for the wickedness of My people Israel. . . . Therefore will I do unto this house, which is called by My name, wherein ye trust, and unto the place which

I gave to you and to your fathers, as I have done to Shiloh." Jeremiah 7:12-14.” {PP 514.4}

 "The recreant priests added licentiousness to the dark catalogue of their crimes yet they still polluted by their presence the tabernacle of the Lord, and, laden with sin, dared to come into the presence of a holy God. As the men of Israel witnessed the corrupt course of the priests, they thought it safer for their families not to come up to the appointed place of worship. Many went from Shiloh with their peace disturbed, their indignation aroused, until they at last determined to offer their sacrifices themselves, concluding that this would be fully as acceptable to God, as to sanction in any manner the abominations practiced in the Sanctuary." E.G. White, The Signs of the Times, vol. 1, p. 264, col. 3, December 1, 1881.

 "Christ was a protestant...The Reformers date back to Christ and the apostles. They came out and separated themselves from a religion of forms and ceremonies. Luther and his followers did not invent the reformed religion. They simply accepted it as presented by Christ and the apostles." E.G. White, Review and Herald, vol. 2, 48, col. 2.

Paul left

"And as they persisted in their rejection of the gospel the apostle (Paul) went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space for three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God. But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus." Acts, 19:8, 9.

"Fearing that the faith of the believers would be endangered by continued association with these opposers of the truth, Paul separated from them, and gathered the disciples into a distinct body." E.G. White, Acts of the Apostles, p. 286.

 "The Sanhedrin had rejected Christ's message and was bent upon His death therefore Jesus departed from Jerusalem, from the priests, the temple, the religious leaders, the people who had been instructed in the law, and turned to another class to proclaim His message, and to gather out those who should carry the gospel to all nations.

As the light and life of men was rejected by the ecclesiastical authorities in the days of Christ, so it has been rejected in every succeeding generation. Again and again the history of Christ's withdrawal from Judea has been repeated. When the Reformers preached the word of God, they had no thought of separating themselves from the established church but the religious leaders would not tolerate the light, and those that bore it were forced to seek another class, who were longing for the truth. In our day few of the professed followers of the Reformers are actuated by their spirit. Few are listening for the voice of God, and ready to accept truth in whatever guise it may be presented. Often those who follow in the steps of the Reformers are forced to turn away from the churches they love, in order to declare the plain teaching of the word of God. And many times those who are seeking for light are by the same teaching obliged to leave the church of their fathers, that they may render obedience." E.G. White, Desire of Ages, 232.

Ron

Another of the prime hindrances for corporate SDA in understanding the clear crystal truth for this time is that like the Jews of old, they misinterpret the promises of God to them. All those promises are conditional upon obedience. But like DD, he interprets those promises as being unconditional NO MATTER WHAT THE CHURCH DOES, as evinced by his words:

“Both these interpolations are misleading.

So go back to sleep Adventists who believe DD! For no matter what you do by way of harlotry and confederating with God’s enemies via ecumenical marriage to Babylon, you will still reap the wonderful assurance that “though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.”

DD extends the “possible forgiveness” to any violation of God’s Word and the experience of the Jews and Jeremiah 11:9-15, prove him seriously errant.
