What follows is a dialog between Metusela Albert and Ulicia Unruh, the owner of the forum where this discussion took place. My comments will be in this color print and my highlighted portions in this color.

Re: wheat and tares

Metusela Albert wrote: Calling me to leave the SDA Church without clarifying the issues is out of context and making a personal attack.

Ulicia writes: This forum is NOT calling anyone to leave the SDA Church. I've posted enough times that this is NOT the message we are to indulge in. EGW makes it perfectly clear such a message is NOT from God.

Ron responds: It is true that no man should call anyone to leave the SDA church. The problem is with man’s definition of the SDA church versus God’s and Ellen White’s definition, which I will cover in this document. In short, a new movement, new organization, that has removed God and pillar doctrines, changing our religion, is not the SDA church in any wise.

We need PERSONAL revival and reformation, yes -- So let's concentrate on that. If everyone concentrated on that soon the church would be what Christ intends it to be.

Ron responds: Personal revival and reformation is so critically important, but Ellen White said the entire church will never revive.

“Are we hoping to see the whole church revived? That time will never come. There are persons in the church who are not converted, and who will not unite in earnest, prevailing prayer. We must enter upon the work individually. We must pray more, and talk less.”--1SM 122 (1887). {LDE 195.2}

Though revival is an individual work, God and Ellen White speak of corporate responsibilities of the church as a body. Consider the following responsibilities of the corporate church—the whole church—as a body:

·       The persons in the church who are not converted and who will not unite in earnest, prevailing prayer are tares. Tares ARE NOT open sinners because they are not to be uprooted and separated from the church. Tares and Wheat dwell together until the harvest and the harvest comes at the end of the world, and we are at that time.

·       Open sinners are to be separated from the church if they won’t repent: "Christ has plainly taught that those who persist in open sin must be separated from the church..." E. G. White, Christ's Object Lessons, 71.

·       "The names of those who sin and refuse to repent should not be retained on the church books, lest the saints be held accountable for their evil deeds. Those who pursue a course of transgression should be visited and labored with, and if they then refuse to repent, they should be separated from church fellowship, in accordance with the rules laid down in the Word of God." {11MR 208.3}

·       Open sinners (thorns) choke out the wheat and kill it making it impossible for the wheat to mature, to wit:

·       "Thorns sprung up.--The thorns made it impossible for the wheat to mature (see Luke 8:14). In the same way secular interests prevent the fruits of the Spirit (Gal. 5:22, 23) from reaching maturity. Religion is relegated to the subordinate position of being only one interest among many. For lack of cultivation it withers and eventually dies. That which the thorny-ground hearers lack is a moral transformation [E.G. White, Christ's Object Lessons,  p. 50]  To them, justification is the sum and substance of religion, and they fail to realize that the Christian life consists essentially in the process known as sanctification--the process by which evil traits and tendencies are replaced by the perfect life-pattern of Jesus Christ." Seventh-day Adventist Bible Commentary, vol. 5, 405.

·       "You are exhorted to touch not the unclean thing; for in touching this, you will yourself become unclean. It is impossible for you to unite with those who are corrupt, and still remain pure. ‘What fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? and what concord hath Christ with Belial?’ [2 Corinthians 6:14-15] God and Christ and the heavenly host would have man know that if he unites with the corrupt, he will become corrupt." E.G. White Comments, SDA Bible Commentary, vol 6, p 1102.

·       The concept is now being advanced that one can be a member of a corrupt church and merely avoid those who are corrupt by associating only with the wheat. How would that be possible when the leaders are the ring-leaders in the apostasy? How would that be possible when the members of the church are held accountable for leaders who have brought in antichrist heresies? If we could join a corrupt church without being corrupted by its influence, then we need never left Rome or her fallen daughter churches. Christ would never have separated from the apostate Jewish church. When church leaders will NEVER AGAIN show the house of Jacob its sins (5T 211), and won’t remove open sinners, how does one exempt him/herself from the responsibility of the following statements?:

·       "The names of those who sin and refuse to repent should not be retained on the church books, lest the saints be held accountable for their evil deeds. Those who pursue a course of transgression should be visited and labored with, and if they then refuse to repent, they should be separated from church fellowship, in accordance with the rules laid down in the Word of God." {11MR 208.3}

·       "The plain straight testimony must live in the church, or the curse of God will rest upon His people as surely as it did upon ancient Israel because of their sins. God holds His people, as a body [corporately], responsible for the sins existing in individuals among them." Testimonies, Vol. 3, p. 269.

Ulicia writes: "When men arise, claiming to have a message from God, but instead of warring against principalities and powers, and the rulers of the darkness of this world, they form a hollow square, and turn the weapons of warfare against the church militant, be afraid of them. They do not bear the divine credentials. God has not given them any such burden of labor. They would tear down that which God would restore by the Laodicean message. He wounds only that he may heal, not cause to perish. The Lord lays upon no man a message that will discourage and dishearten the church. He reproves, he rebukes, he chastens; but it is only that he may restore and approve at last. " RH Oct. 1893 (Emphasis in this color mine—rb)

Ron responds: Personally, I would never dare to turn any weapon against the true SDA church militant. A valid church militant retains the presence of Christ. But what about a new movement, new organization that has removed God? Ellen White says that only the presence of Christ can constitute a church, so if the new movement has removed God, and it certainly has, how can that new movement be a valid church, let alone the church militant. Another sign of a valid church militant is that it has only two parties, two divisions, the wheat and the tares. Tares are not open sinners because they are not to be removed. But God says open sinners are to be reformed or separated from the church. So a church that will NEVER AGAIN show the House of Jacob its sins (5T 211), thus cannot remove open sinners from the church because it would have to point out the open sin to the person(s) in order to try to reform them and if that did not work then separation would be necessary.

I would not attempt to discourage and/or dishearten THE CHURCH. I would attempt to dishearten and discourage a new movement, new organization that has removed pillar doctrines and substituted them with antichrist doctrines. But alas, Ellen White said that “nothing would be allowed to stand in the way of the new movement.” (1SM 204-205). But we have a duty to REPUDIATE everything that is not in harmony with the foundation laid down by Ellen G. White and the SDA pioneers.

"The enemy of souls has sought to bring in the supposition that a great reformation was to take place among Seventh-day Adventists, and that this reformation would consist in giving up the doctrines which stand as the pillars of our faith, and engaging in a process of reorganization. Were this reformation to take place, what would result? The principles of truth that God in His wisdom has given to the remnant church, would be discarded. Our religion would be changed. The fundamental principles that have sustained the work for the last fifty years would be accounted as error. A NEW ORGANIZATION would be established. Books of a NEW ORDER would be written. A system of intellectual philosophy would be introduced. The founders of this system would go into the cities, and do a wonderful work. The Sabbath of course, would be lightly regarded, as also the God who created it. Nothing would be allowed to stand in the way of the NEW MOVEMENT. The leaders would teach that virtue is better than vice, but GOD BEING REMOVED, they would place their dependence on human power, which, without God, is worthless. Their foundation would be built on the sand, and storm and tempest would sweep away the structure.

Who has authority to begin such a [NEW] movement? We have our Bibles, we have our experience, attested to by the miraculous working of the Holy Spirit. We have a truth that admits of no compromise. Shall we not repudiate everything that is not in harmony with this truth? E.G. White, Selected Messages, Vol. 1, 204, 205.

Ulicia writes: Did you realize it is those who think the Laodicean message is not about them, that are in a Laodicean state?

Ron responds: Ellen White wrote in her letter to Stanton and Caldwell on June 12, 1893, that the church was keeping the commandments of God, heeding the Laodicean message, and receiving a refreshing of the Spirit from the Lord. Did she know that the church was not Laodicean at that time? Yes. Can we know whether we personally and/or the church at large is keeping the commandments of God? Yes. And the answer is NO, THE CHURCH IS NOT KEEPING THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD. For decades now, church headquarters leaders have instructed SDA parents in Russia that they should send their children to school on Sabbath as school is held six day a week there. Many Waldensian’s died for the Sabbath, but now Russian’s can violate it.

Can we know whether or not we have bought gold tried in the fire—faith that works by the indwelling self-sacrificing love of Christ; faith that works by His grace (power—Rom. 1:5) given for obedience? Yes we can. How does God say we can know if we love Him? He gave us a personal and collective test. His word says: How do you KNOW you love me? And then He gives the following tests. So it is possible for one TO KNOW we are in Him.

1 John 2 (King James Version)

3And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.

4He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

5But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

6He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

7Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning.

8Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth.

9He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.

10He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.

11But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.

1 John 2:3-11.

1 John 3

18My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

19And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.

20For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.

21Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.

22And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

23And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.

24And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us. 1 John 3:18-24.

1 John 4

12No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

13Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.

14And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.

15Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. 1 John 4:12-15.

1 John 5

1Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.

2By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.

3For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

4For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

5Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

6This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.

7For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 1 John 5:1-7.

Ellen White said that the church is in the Laodicean state and the presence of God is not in her midsts:

"The church is in the Laodicean state. The presence of God is not in her midst." E.G. White, Notebook Leaflets, p. 99, 1898.

"To the end of time, the presence of the Spirit is to abide with the true church." E.G. White, Acts of the Apostles, p. 55.

“From the beginning, faithful souls have constituted the church on earth.  In every age the Lord has had His watchmen, who have borne a faithful testimony to the generation in which they lived.  These sentinels gave the message of warning; and when they were called to lay off their armor, others took up the work.  God brought these witnesses into covenant relation with Himself, uniting the church on earth with the church in heaven.  He has sent forth His angels to minister to His church, and the gates of hell have not been able to prevail against His people.”  E.G. White, The Acts of the Apostles, p. 12.

The gates of hell will not prevail against faithful souls--obviously.

"The members of the church triumphant--the church in heaven--will be permitted to draw near to the members of the church militant, to aid them in their necessity." E. G. White, The Southern Watchman, Sep. 8, 1903.

The following are members of the church triumphant. They are earthly representatives of the church in heaven.

The church written in heaven is the True Reformers: "Characteristics of True Reformers.--Here are given the characteristics of those who shall be reformers, who will bear the banner of the third angel's message, those who avow themselves God's commandment-keeping people, and who honor God, and are earnestly engaged, in the sight of all the universe, in building up the old waste places. Who is it that calls them, The repairers of the breach, The restorers of paths to dwell in? It is God. Their names are registered [written--Heb. 12:22, 23] in heaven as reformers, restorers, as raising the foundations of many generations." E. G. White, SDA Bible Commentary, Vol. 4, 1151.

The Lord may seem to have forgotten the perils of His church, and the injury done to her by those who follow principles which He can not indorse. But God has not forgotten. Nothing in this world is so dear to the heart of God as His church. He marks every action of the members. It is not His will that worldly policy shall corrupt her record as a representative of heaven. Nothing so offends the heart of Christ as injury done those whom He died to save.  His heart of love is grieved when the lame are turned out of the way by the crooked paths made by others. God does not leave His people to be overcome by Satan's temptations. He will chastise those who misrepresent Him. But He will be gracious to all who sincerely repent. {ST, November 13, 1901 par. 3}

God does not leave HIS PEOPLE to be overcome by Satan’s temptations. Better know who HIS PEOPLE are friend!

·       They are those who live, believe and give the Everlasting Gospel.

·       They are a class of faithful men.

·       They are first to catch the tidings of the Saviour's advent.

·       They are the first to lift their voices to proclaim him near.

·       They are the first to warn the people to prepare for his coming.

·       They are not in darkness. They are in the light and they share it.

·       They are the true watchmen on the walls of Zion.

·       They are those who do not BACKSLIDE.

·       They don’t have pretentious leaves. They have fruits.

·       They are not lukewarm, complacent or neutral in the omega of apostasy crisis.

·       They understand the difference between God’s church and a new movement we were never to join.

·       They are those who do not close their eyes to the signs of the times.

·       They are those who do not refuse His CONDITIONS.

·       They are those who do not separate themselves from His love.

·       They are not Laodicean and they know it! They have bought gold tried in the fire—faith that works by the indwelling, self-sacrificing love of Christ.

·       They sigh and cry for all the abominations in the church.

·       They warn the church of the coming destruction and seek to save men, maidens and little children from them impending slaughter.

"Jesus sends HIS PEOPLE a message of warning to prepare them for his coming. To the prophet John was made known the closing work in the great plan of man's redemption. He beheld an angel flying 'in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him for the hour of his Judgment is come and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters [Rev. 14:6, 7.].

The angel represented in prophecy as delivering this message,  symbolizes a class of faithful men, who, obedient to the promptings of God's Spirit and the teachings of his word, proclaim this warning to the inhabitants of earth. This message was not to be committed to the religious leaders of the people. They had failed to preserve their connection with God, and had REFUSED THE LIGHT FROM HEAVEN therefore they WERE NOT of the number described by the apostle Paul: 'But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day we are not of the night nor of darkness' [1 Thess. 5:4, 5].

The watchmen upon the walls of Zion should be the first to catch the tidings of the Saviour's advent, the first to lift their voices to proclaim him near, the first to warn the people to prepare for his coming. But they were at ease, dreaming of peace and safety, while the people were asleep in their sins. Jesus saw HIS CHURCH, like the barren fig-tree, covered with pretentious leaves, yet destitute of precious fruit. There was a boastful observance of the forms of religion, while the spirit of true humility, penitence and faith--which alone could render the service acceptable to God--was lacking. Instead of the graces of the Spirit, there were manifested pride, formalism, vainglory, selfishness, oppression. A BACKSLIDING CHURCH closed their eyes to the signs of the times. God did nor forsake them, or suffer his faithfulness to fail but they departed from him, and SEPARATED THEMSELVES from his love. As they REFUSED TO COMPLY WITH THE CONDITIONS, his promises were NOT FULFILLED to them."  E.G. White, The Spirit of Prophecy,  vol. 4, pp. 199-200 [The 1884 edition of The Great Controversy, 199, 200].

Ulicia writes: The Laodicean is not EVIL. It is not Babylon.

Ron responds: The above statement is in direct contravention to the following statements by Ellen G. White. In other parts of this document, Ulicia speaks of the Laodicean message as referring only to individuals. It does address individual, but it also addresses the corporate church, as does the following statements:

1859: "The church is in the Laodicean state. The presence of Christ is not in her midst." Notebook Leaflets, p. 99.

Ellen White does not specify individuals only. She clearly says that the church is in the Laodicean state.

"If the church of God becomes LUKEWARM [LAODICEAN] it does not stand in favor with God any more than do the churches that are represented as having fallen and become the habitation of devils and the hold of every foul spirit and the cage of every unclean and hateful bird. Those who have had opportunities to hear and receive the truth, and who have united with the Seventh-day Adventist church, calling themselves the commandment keeping people of God, and yet possess no more vitality and consecration to God than do the nominal churches, will receive of the plagues of God just as verily as the churches who oppose the law of God." E.G. White, Letter 35, 1898.

Did the church become Laodicean? Has the church remained Laodicean? No! It has become both COLD APOSTATE which is far worse than merely lukewarm, because the apostasy the church has committed AFTER KNOWING THE TRUTH, is in violation of the second angel’s message and the Midnight Cry. Ellen White said that all who commit these violations after hearing and understanding the truth relative to them, will find it IMPOSSIBLE to get back on the pathway to heaven. Word to the Little Flock, p. 14. This connotes unpardonable sin as does Isaiah 8:9-12, which says the same thing in other words.

If it is possible to distinguish between lukewarmness and cold apostasy, it is possible to distinguish between true Christianity and lukewarmness. Ulicia intimates that if you think you are not Laodicean, you are. That is not true. One may KNOW he/she is hot for Christ. But it is true that foolish virgins think they are hot and they are not.

If Laodicea is not regarded with any more favor by God than the fallen churches, and the call of Laodicea is to all churches, then there is no difference between Laodicea and the fallen churches as far as being in a fallen state is concerned. Different churches believe different aspects of Babylonian teachings, but Ellen White equates them all as far as falling from the favor of God is concerned, and as far as constituting the habitation of devils and the hold of every foul spirit and the cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

Ulicia writes: They are neither cold (evil and antagonistic) nor hot (on fire for the Lord), but lukewarm (comfortable in their pews).

Ron responds: Ulicia Unruh is an SDA minister’s wife. She is clueless as to how the church became COLD APOSTATE by committing abominable apostasies for which we are to sigh and cry. That is why she does not sigh and cry for all the abominations. She doesn’t recognize them. In the alpha of apostasy, the ministering brethren were looking on, but did not seem to understand, even though the implications of that apostasy involved the decimation of the Sanctuary and Atonement truths. The same thing has accrued in the omega of apostasy. The ministering brethren and their wives don’t have a clue as to how the same thing has occurred via the church’s adoption of Rome’s central doctrine, the Trinity Doctrine. They don’t have a clue how the church has adopted an antichrist stance on the human nature of Christ. They don’t have a clue as to how the church has violated the second angel’s message and the Midnight Cry light by ecumenical association, council/counsel, girding and confederacy/conspiracy with Babylon. They don’t have a clue as to how gross an abomination it has been to go to Babylon to learn how to celebrate (entertain) members and thereby grow churches. They don’t have a clue as to how the church became married to the world when it adopted the world’s Accreditation Standards for its educational centers. Satan thereby has ensnared the greater part of the church’s youth, and the leaders shake their heads in wonderment as to why the youth go out the back door as quickly as they enter the front!

Sanctuary Gone Atonement Gone -- "In a representation which passed before me, I saw a certain work being done by medical missionary workers. Our ministering brethren were looking on, watching what was being done, but they did not seem to understand. The foundation of our faith, which was established by so much prayer, such earnest searching of the Scriptures, was being taken down, pillar by pillar. Our faith was to have nothing to rest upon--the sanctuary was gone, the atonement was gone." E.G. White, The Upward Look, 152.

Ulicia writes: Saith the Lord, "I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of Me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see."

Ron responds: Proof of how Laodiceans become cold apostates committing abominations for which we are to sigh and cry, is the fact that Ellen White called ALL CHURCHES Laodicean, and they are fallen in cold apostasy. This is not a contradiction because they were once Laodicean, but by rejecting present truth, they became cold apostates.

"The warning for the last church [Laodicea] also must be proclaimed to all who claim to be Christians. The Laodicean message, like a sharp, two--edged sword, must go to ALL THE CHURCHES:...It is our work to proclaim this message. Are we putting forth every effort that the churches may be warned?" Testimonies, vol. 6, p. 77.

This is why when the SDA church became Laodicean it did not stand in any more favor with God than the other fallen churches:

Ulicia writes: What is the problem of Laodicea?

They are religious and can look at themselves and think they are doing what God expects, BUT they haven't accepted Christ's righteousness (His robe) and they rely on their own right doing! They haven't been "born again" but are plugging along doing the religious thing, without power of the Holy Spirit. And they don't realize their lack!

|That's the problem --

That's why Jesus says -- "Behold I stand at the door and knock." He wants to come in and give each of us a vital, living experience with Him and make us "on fire" for Him.

Ron responds: The problem with Laodicea is that lukewarmness makes one tired and sleepy. The ten virgins ALL slumbered and slept.

“While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.” Matthew 25:5.

And while they all slumbered and slept, Satan came in and formed a new movement, new organization, that changed our religion by removing pillar doctrines, replacing them with doctrines of Rome re: the Godhead and the human nature of Christ, and the Sanctuary/Atonement. They have no spiritual discernment to rightly divide the Word of God and/or the Spirit of Prophecy. So they misinterpret to their damnation just as God’s first chosen people, the Jews did.

I have responded to most of the following above in Ulicia’s first response to Metusela Albert. But I will address some below that are a bit different.

SECTION TWO

Fw: [adventism_prophecy] Re: wheat and tares

Ulicia writes: If you read my previous post many of your questions below would already be answered.

However I will answer again in between your comments below.

--- In adventism_prophecy@yahoogroups.com, Metusela Albert <metusela_albert@... wrote:

Metusela Albert wrote:  You said, "Laodicean is not Evil. It is not Babylon." Why would God call this Laodicean Church to REPENT as in Revelation 3:19 if she is NOT EVIL???

Ulicia writes:

Not evil in the sense of doing a lot of bad things.  They are not cold.   They are working.  They are doing a lot of GOOD things.  Like going to church on the right day, paying their tithe, helping in the church and community.  But their works are neither hot nor cold – they don't have much enthusiasm.

Repentance -  yes, repentance is the very essence of righteousness by faith for until an INDIVIDUAL realizes their own sinfulness and desperate need for a Savior,  and that their own works cannot merit them salvation they are still lost.  Thus the call to repentance.

Ron responds: It is not true that new movement, new organization Adventism is not cold apostasy. God said He would rather they become hot or cold than lukewarm. They became cold and Ellen White says that the other fallen apostate churches are Laodicean as well. But we know they are indeed apostate Babylon.

Albert writes:  Why should God spue this Laodicean Church out of His mouth if she is not EVIL? Apparently, this Laodicean Church is EVIL.

Ulicia writes: The message is for each INDIVIDUAL in the church.   God is not spuing the church as a whole out.

Ron responds: Ulicia clearly says the Laodicean message is for the INDIVIDUAL ONLY. That is heresy. Do the following statements teach individual responsibility only?

·       "The names of those who sin and refuse to repent should not be retained on the church books, lest the saints be held accountable for their evil deeds. Those who pursue a course of transgression should be visited and labored with, and if they then refuse to repent, they should be separated from church fellowship, in accordance with the rules laid down in the Word of God." {11MR 208.3}

·       Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins. Isaiah 58:1

Ellen White says that the entire chapter of Isaiah 58 is our work, our responsibility.

While the message is for each INDIVIDUAL, it is also for the church collectively. Three thirds of the church – EQUALLING A WHOLE, will be spewed out after a remnant goes forth out of Jerusalem, Ezekiel 5:1-3 and Isaiah 37:31, 32 respectively. As previously stated in the first section, the church has corporate, collective responsibilities, such as keeping the doctrines pure and separating open sin and sinners if they will not reform. Consider:

·       When church leaders become ring-leaders in apostasy and lead the sheep to destruction, the message applies to the church corporately.

·        16For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed. Isaiah 9:16. When this accrues, as God’s Word says it DOES, then the Laodicean message certainly applies to the church as a corporate body because the members are responsible for the leaders they elect and maintain with the sacred tithe.

·       "There are fearful woes for those who preach the truth, but are not sanctified by it, and also for those who consent to receive and maintain the unsanctified to minister to them in word and doctrine" (Testimonies, Vol. 1, pp. 261, 262).

·       In the above statement, one should discern his/her personal responsibility for consenting to receive and maintain leaders who have brought the apostasy into the church and who have thus formed a new movement, new organization we were never to join.

·       "If God pronounces a woe upon those who are called to preach the truth and refuse to obey, a heavier woe rests upon those who take upon them this sacred work without clean hands and pure hearts. As there are woes for those who preach the truth while they are unsanctified in heart and life, so there are woes for those who receive and maintain the unsanctified in the position which they cannot fill" (Testimonies, Vol. 2, p. 552).

·       "It would be poor policy to support from the treasury of God those who really mar and injure His work, and who are constantly lowering the standard of Christianity" (Testimonies, Vol. 3, p. 553).

Ulicia writes: EGW:   "How is it that these pamphlets denouncing the Seventh-day Adventist Church as Babylon were scattered abroad everywhere …. they would tear down that which God would restore by the Laodicean message. He wounds only that He may heal, not cause to perish. The Lord lays upon no man a message that will discourage and dishearten the church. He reproves, He rebukes, He chastens; but it is only that He may restore and approve at last." TM 23.

Ron responds: These are the statements SDA ministers compiled in Testimonies to Ministers, after Ellen White’s death, as a buffer rationale for doing anything they wish.  Ellen White’s statement was addressed to two men, Stanton and Caldwell, in 1893. They were calling the church Babylon, when in the letter to them which the above statement is extracted from, Ellen White said the church was then:

·       Keeping the Commandments of God.

·       Heeding the Laodicean message.

·       Receiving a refreshing from the Lord.

Then Ellen White asked: “Where could we go?” As if to say where could one go to improve on that?!

As I showed you further up in this document, Ellen White said that the Laodicean message is to ALL CHURCHES who profess Christianity, but does God lay upon no man a message that will discourage and dishearten all the other fallen churches? Does He rebuke, chasten, only that He may restore and approve at last the other fallen churches? No, those words do not apply when any church falls and becomes apostate. Those words applied to the SDA church until it fell in the mid 1950’s and on, to become a new movement, new organization that removed God by removing pillar doctrines and changing our religion by embracing antichrist doctrine on the Godhead, the human nature of Christ, the Sanctuary/Atonement, and by returning to the iniquities of our forefathers, fallen Babylon, by returning in ecumenical liaison with them in violation of the second angels message and the Midnight Cry.

Ulicia writes: The Laodicean message is the message of Righteousness by Faith in Christ.
It announces that INDIVIDUALS who depend upon their own good works are lost and need the Savior, and it gives the solution whereby we are saved.

It is those who refuse to apply the message to THEMSELVES who will be spued out. Those who simply use it to condemn the church aren't applying it to themselves.

Ron responds: Sighing and crying for all the abominations is a condition for receiving the seal of the Man in Linen in Ezekiel 9. All who refuse this sighing and crying are refusing the CONDITIONS of God’s Word. It is not improper condemning of the church to sigh and cry for all its abominations, nor is it turning any weapons upon the church militant other than to expose the apostasy it has imbibed. Those who follow this counsel of God by such sighing and crying are not necessarily neglecting the application of the Laodicean message to themselves. Some might be doing this, but Ulicia implies that all who condemn the abominations of the church are not applying the Laodicean message to themselves and this does not automatically apply as valid logic. There is nothing that says those who sigh and cry for all the abominations are not also heeding the Laodicean message—other than the personal opinion of Ulicia Unruh, which has no support in the Word of God or the SOP.

Albert writes:  Why should God call this Church blind and naked? Because this Church is EVIL - Revelation 3:15-19.

Ulicia writes: Your first question is a good question – your conclusion is faulty. All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.  There is none righteous, no not one, all our righteousness is as filthy rags. All are naked who have not the righteousness of Christ.

Ron responds: Ellen White said that if the church became Laodicean it would not receive the favor of God any more than the other fallen churches. Are they evil? Is lukewarmness in a people with advanced light of truth--evil? It sure is not good!  God says it is something we must repent of and that is sin. Becoming and/or remaining lukewarm, wretched, miserable, poor, blind and naked, AFTER KNOWING THE TRUTH, is evil. It is a crime against God. It is to crucify Christ afresh! But to go beyond that to commit cold, unpardonable sin apostasy, is to marry into the Synagogue of Satan forever.

15I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.

16So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

17Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

18I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

 19As many as I love, I rebuke

Ulicia writes: EGW: "Without the Holy Spirit, without the breath of God, there is torpidity of conscience, loss of spiritual life. Many who are without spiritual life have their names on the church records, but they are not written in the Lamb's book of life. They may be joined to the church, but they are not united to the Lord. They may be diligent in the performance of a certain set of duties, and may be regarded as living men; but many are among those who have "a name that thou livest, and art dead."  {4BC 1166.1}

Ron responds: Is the above evil after knowing the truth? It is repentable but it is indeed evil.

     "Unless there is genuine conversion of the soul to God; unless the vital breath of God quickens the soul to spiritual life; unless the professors of truth are actuated by heaven-born principle, they are not born of the incorruptible seed which liveth and abideth forever. Unless they trust in the righteousness of Christ as their only security; unless they copy His character, labor in His spirit, they are naked, they have not on the robe of His righteousness. The dead are often made to pass for the living; for those who are working out what they term salvation after their own ideas, have not God working in them to will and to do of His good pleasure.  {4BC 1166.2}

So we see the "nakedness" isn't talking about the whole church – but of INDIVIDUALS.  Everyone is "naked" unless they realize their need for Christ and His righteousness.  Even those, and especially those, who live the right life OUTWARDLY, but haven't surrendered the heart.

Ron responds: We are talking about the whole church when leaders of the church have committed abominable apostasy and the members elect and support those leaders! Then, the members AS A BODY, AS A CORPORATE CHURCH, are responsible for the sins existing in INDIVIDUALS among them.

"The plain straight testimony must live in the church, or the curse of God will rest upon His people as surely as it did upon ancient Israel because of their sins. God holds His people, as a body [corporately], responsible for the sins existing in individuals among them." Testimonies, vol. 3, p. 269.

Ulicia Unruh is teaching directly contrary to the Spirit of Prophecy, when she says we are responsible as INDIVIDUALS only for the Laodicean condition of the church. If the pastors foster that condition by their apostasy, and the members consent to maintain them, all, AS A BODY, are responsible for the condition of the church.

"The names of those who sin and refuse to repent should not be retained on the church books, lest the saints be held accountable for their evil deeds. Those who pursue a course of transgression should be visited and labored with, and if they then refuse to repent, they should be separated from church fellowship, in accordance with the rules laid down in the Word of God." {11MR 208.3}

ALBERT WRITES:  Since  the Laodicean Church is Evil, therefore this Church is Babylon also. Without repentance, they will be lost. It is devilish. This Church is not with Christ. He that is not with God is against Him.

Ron responds: No honest person can deny that Ellen White said exactly what Albert says:

Ulicia writes: Wrong premises lead to wrong conclusions. You take the call to recognize ones INDIVIDUAL lost condition without Christ's righteousness to accept righteousness by faith and turn it around to sound like a denunciation of God's  church as Babylon.  That is HEARSEY!  What you are doing is devilish (and that's not my opinion but from the pen of inspiration)

Ron responds: AGAIN: Ellen White said IF THE CHURCH, not INDIVIDUALS IN THE CHURCH, becomes lukewarm:

So Ulicia is dead wrong!

"To claim that the Seventh-day Adventist Church is Babylon, is to make the same claim as does Satan, who is an accuser of the brethren, who accuses them before God night and day…. They misinterpret and misapply that which God has given to the church to warn, counsel, reprove, comfort, and encourage those who shall make up the remnant people of God."  TM 42

Ron responds: No man should claim that the SDA church is Babylon or any part of Babylon. But in the letters to Stanton and Caldwell, Ellen White said that the church was not THEN Laodicean.

Very true! No true reformer will every say that the real SDA church militant is Babylon or any part of Babylon! But it was Ellen White who said the following words. The following words are difficult to misinterpret.

ALBERT WRITES:  If God calls this Laodicean Church to repent, then it is obvious that this Church is already evil, correct? ... Are you saying 'No," NOT Evil? Actually, this is an open heresy. Scripture makes it clear that if one does not repent, he or she will be lost - Ezekiel 18:20-24.

Ulicia writes:

It's true if an INDIVIDUAL does not come to Christ in repentance, sensing that he is a sinner, and his great need for Christ and His righteousness, forgiveness, cleansing and healing power, he will be lost.

But the heresy is in projecting the message of Righteousness by Faith which is given to church members, and turning that into meaning the church, which is God's church on earth that teaches obedience to all of God's commands, is evil and therefore Babylon.  That is heresy.

Ron responds: It is heresy to apply the Laodicean message to INDIVIDUALS ONLY. Ellen White and God applied it to the 7TH CHURCH—LAODICEA. The original Laodicea church, circa A.D. 1, was a literal church, not just individuals in a church. Although it is true that individuals make up the church, the church has corporate responsibilities which I have enumerated elsewhere in my responses. If some of the leaders and members have become cold, open sin apostate, as they have, and the members do not deal with the open sin apostasy, they become responsible for those sins AS A BODY, and the curse of God will be upon such a church.

Albert writes: Are we confused with repentance now? ....

Ulicia asks: Are you? Repentance is an individual matter.

Ron responds: It is an absolute lie that repentance is ONLY an individual matter and that is the direct inference of Ulicia. When certain open sins of apostasy occur in the camp, the church AS A BODY is responsible for the sins of INDIVIDUALS, and if those individual won’t reform, AND THEY ARE STILL RETAINED IN THE CHURCH, the entire church AS A BODY becomes responsible for them.

·       "The names of those who sin and refuse to repent should not be retained on the church books, lest the saints be held accountable for their evil deeds. Those who pursue a course of transgression should be visited and labored with, and if they then refuse to repent, they should be separated from church fellowship, in accordance with the rules laid down in the Word of God." {11MR 208.3}

·       "The plain straight testimony must live in the church, or the curse of God will rest upon His people as surely as it did upon ancient Israel because of their sins. God holds His people, as a body [corporately], responsible for the sins existing in individuals among them." Testimonies, Vol. 3, p. 269.

ALBERT WRITES: I believe this topic needs further discussion and every email needs to be posted to everyone on the forum. I hope the MODERATOR is not going to control it like what the Catholics did when they did not want the people to know what was going on during the Reformation era.

Ron responds: I was once a member of Ulicia’s forum, and she removed me for stating the truths I state in this document. She will be responsible for standing in the gate deciding what the people hear and what they don’t hear. The following statement is non other than the literal fulfillment of Ezekiel 9, as prophesied by Ellen White. Unless Ulicia repents, she is slated for Ezekiel 9 slaughter.

"In the very courts of the temple, scenes will be enacted that few realize. God's people will be proved and tested, that He may discern 'between him that serveth God and him that serveth Him not.' Vengeance will be executed against those who sit in the gate, deciding what the people should have and what they should not have. These take away the key of knowledge. They refuse to enter in themselves, and those who would enter in they hinder. These bear not the seal of the living God. All who now occupy responsible positions should be solemnly and terribly afraid lest in this time they shall be found as unfaithful stewards." E.G. White, Manuscript 15, 1886, Paulson Collection, p. 55.

Ulicia writes: The message for Laodicea is important to discuss -- We all need to come to Christ in humility acknowledging our sinfulness and our need forgiveness, for the robe of Christ's righteousness, for His gold of faith and love, and His ointment of spiritual discernment.  We need to open wide the door and let Christ into our hearts and lives more fully each and every day.  Yes, we need to take the message to heart and never feel we have arrived.

But yes, the moderators WILL control the discussion. Anyone insisting that the church is Babylon and turning the forum into a propaganda platform to spread this "devilish" message will eventually be banned.

Albert writes: This discussion brings revival and reformation to the hearers as we clarify the topics. And surely, the devil would not want us to discuss this important topic. Having a topic in discussion while someone is in control as to what to post and not to post, does not do justice to the readers, to the writer, nor to Jesus Christ because it will be one sided.

Ron responds: Amen Albert!

Ulicia writes: No, preaching the Seventh-day Adventist church is Babylon does not bring revival, it brings confusion and scatters the people. Personally, I'm convinced the devil is DELIGHTED to have all these people coming with their "the Seventh-day Adventist church is Babylon" message.  He's the one that gets angry when he can't proclaim that message.

Ron responds: No true reformer I know teaches or preaches that the SDA church is Babylon. They teach that Satan formed a new movement, new organization (1SM 204-205) “AMONG” within the once SDA church and took that church over. That new movement will allow nothing to stand in its way. So there will never be a revival in that movement unless this fact is recognized, and the new movement is removed, but Ellen White said that omega of apostasy new movement will wax stronger until Jesus comes. So if she is right, the following will continue to accrue within that new movement:

·       No true revival and reformation.

·       The great apostasy will increase and wax stronger until Jesus comes.

·       Within that movement folk are departing from the faith.

·       The defenders of that new movement will be gathered into its midsts for slaughter, burning and melting, Ezekiel 9, Ezekiel 22:17-31 and The Great Controversy, Chapter 1.

·       No outpouring of the latter rain. Ezekiel 22:24.

·       Confusion will scatter people like some pastors are now doing—taking their congregations elsewhere—and I do not refer to true reformer pastors.

·       The devil will continue to be delighted with Ulicia’s defence of an apostate new movement as being the SDA church. Ulicia get’s angry when this truth is spoken. Her new movement is led by Satan because God is removed (1SM 205).

"One thing it is certain is soon to be realized, the great apostasy, which is developing and increasing and waxing stronger, and will continue to do so until the Lord shall descend from heaven with a shout. We are to hold fast the first principles of our denominated faith, and go forward from strength to increased faith. Ever we are to keep the faith that has been substantiated by the Holy Spirit of God from the earlier events of our experience until the present time. We need now larger breadth, and deeper, more earnest, unwavering faith in the leadings of the Holy Spirit. If we needed the manifest proof of the Holy Spirit's power to confirm truth in the beginning, after the passing of the time, we need to-day all the evidence in the confirmation of the truth, when souls are departing from the faith and giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. There must not be any languishing of soul now." (E.G. White, Special Testimonies, Series B, No. 7, p. 57).

"EGW: Now can we expect that a message would be true that would designate as Babylon the people for whom God has done so much? Hell would triumph should such a message be received, and the world would be strengthened in iniquity. All the reproaches which Satan has cast upon the character of God, would appear as truth, and the conclusion would be made that God has no chosen or organized church in the world. O, what a triumph would this be to Satan and his confederacy of evil! God does not work in this way." RH Oct 1893

Ron responds: Ellen White said that Ezekiel 9 would literally be fulfilled to the letter. We have a type of that antitype to come. In that type, Matthew 22:1-10 and A.D. 34-70, a faithful remnant was gathered out of JERUSALEM. Ellen White applied Ezekiel 9 in a twofold manner.

“The future was mercifully veiled from the disciples. Had they at that time fully comprehend the two awful facts--the Redeemer's sufferings and death, and the destruction of their city and temple--they would have been overwhelmed with horror. Christ presented before them an outline of the prominent events to take place before the close of time. His words were not then fully understood; but their meaning was to be unfolded as His people should need the instruction therein given. The prophecy which He uttered was twofold in its meaning; while foreshadowing the destruction of Jerusalem, it prefigured also the terrors of the last great day.” The Great Controversy, p. 25.

1.    It foreshadowed (typed) the destruction of Jerusalem in a typical literal fulfillment of Ezekiel 9, BEGINNING AT HIS SANCTUARY, HIS CHURCH, 5T 211.

2.    It prefigured  (typed) the destructive terrors of the last great day.

I showed this to Ulicia years ago and she accepted only point #2 above. She teaches that Ezekiel 9 was fulfilled under the Nebuchadnezzar sieges on Jerusalem whereby the Jews were taken into captivity as a punishment permitted by God, in hopes they would reform.

Ezekiel 9 involves a sealing of God’s people, the Jews, first, and that sealing could not take place until the 490 years of allotted probation of Daniel 9 was fulfilled in A.D. 34, which was commensurate with the stoning of Stephen. The SDA Bible Commentary makes the same colossal error as Ulicia in attributing the last fulfillment of Ezekiel 9 to the Nebuchadnezzar CAPTIVITIES. They were just that—CAPTIVITIES as Ellen White calls them. Jeremiah warned the Jews not to resist. If they had obeyed, none would have been killed. Some resisted and were killed, but that was not the Ezekiel 9 destruction of Jerusalem.

Satan knows who true Babylon is – and if he can take the focus off true Babylon and place it on the only church that points out  who and where true Babylon is, he has succeeded.   He has artfully turned the applecart upside down and prepared all to receive his deceptions.

EGW: Those who assert that the Seventh-day Adventist churches constitute Babylon, or any part of Babylon, might better stay at home. Let them stop and consider what is the message to be proclaimed at this time. In place of working with divine agencies to prepare a people to stand in the day of the Lord, they have taken their stand with him who is an accuser of the brethren, who accuses them before God day and night. Satanic agencies have been moved from beneath, and they have inspired men to unite in a confederacy of evil, that they may perplex, harass, and cause the people of God great distress. The whole world is to be stirred with enmity against Seventh-day Adventists, because they will not yield homage to the papacy, by honoring Sunday, the institution of this anti-Christian power. It is the purpose of Satan to cause them to be blotted from the earth, in order that his supremacy of the world may not be disputed.  {RH, August 22, 1893 par. 8}

Ron responds: When Ellen White wrote the above words in 1893 to Stanton and Caldwell, the church was not a new movement, new organization that had removed pillar doctrines and embraced antichrist doctrines of Rome. Such a church is not the SDA church. It does not even qualify as a “church,” because it has removed God, (1SM 205) and only His presence can constitute a church, TUL, 315.

That new movement has united with Satan’s confederacy of evil, the World Council of Churches and its subsidiary organizations—National Councils, and localized Ministerial Associations. That organization and its subsidiaries have one goal in mind, A ONE WORLD CHURCH, as part and parcel of A ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT—A NEW WORLD ORDER.

SDA Encyclopedia on the Ecumenical Movement—“On the basis of Bible prophecy and the writings of Ellen G. White, SDA’s anticipate the eventual success of the ecumenical movement, both in eliminating the divisions of Protestantism and in reuniting Christendom by bridging the gulf that separates non-Catholic communions from Rome.  The ecumenical movement will then become a concerted effort to unite the world and to secure universal peace and security by enlisting the power of civil government in a universal religio-political crusade to eliminate all dissent.  SDA’s envision this crusade as the great apostasy to which John the revelator refers as “Babylon the great.”  They understand, also, that God’s last message of mercy to the world prior to the return of Christ in power and glory will consist of a warning against this great apostate movement, and a call to all who choose to remain loyal to Him to leave the churches connected with it.  See Rev. 13:15-17; 14:6-11; 16:12-14; 17:1-6; 18:1-4; GC 444, 445, 573, 588, 589, 615.”  SDA Encyclopedia, p. 411, and page 362 in some later editions.

So, ironically, after a fashion, SDA leaders are calling their own members out from their great apostasy.

Metusela Albert wrote: Calling me to leave the SDA Church without clarifying the issues is out of context and making a personal attack. This forum is NOT calling anyone to leave the SDA Church. I've posted enough times that this is NOT the message we are to indulge in.  EGW makes it perfectly clear such a message is NOT from God. We need PERSONAL revival and reformation, yes --  So let's concentrate on that. If everyone concentrated on that soon the church would be what Christ intends it to be.

"When men arise, claiming to have a message from God, but instead of warring against principalities and powers, and the rulers of the darkness of this world, they form a hollow square, and turn the weapons of warfare against the church militant, be afraid of them. " RH Oct. 1893

Did you realize it is those who think the Laodicean message is not about them, that are in a Laodicean state?

Then Laodicean is not EVIL. It is not Babylon.

They are neither cold (evil and antagonistic) nor hot (on fire for the Lord) , but lukewarm (comfortable in their pews).

Saith the Lord, "I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.

What is the problem of Laodicea?

They are religious and can look at themselves and think they are doing what God expects, BUT they haven't accepted Christ's righteousness (His robe) and they rely on their own right doing! They haven't been "born again" but are plugging along doing the religious thing, without power of the Holy Spirit. And they don't realize their lack!

That's the problem --  That's why Jesus says --  "Behold I stand at the door and knock."  He wants to come in and give each of us a vital, living experience with Him and make us "on fire" for Him.

Ron responds: The problem with Laodicea is that the true SDA church became Laodicean, and like Ellen White said: has become the cage of every unclean and hateful bird, by forming an apostate new movement, new organization, prophesied by Ellen White. The entire church (every member) is responsible for this apostasy because they elect their leaders and maintain them financially. All who remain to defend that new movement will be in the next Ezekiel 9 slaughter of men, maidens and little children, 5T 211. It is the quest of every TRUE reformer to warn every professing SDA, like the servants of God did in Matthew 22:1-10. Verse 7 is the same event as the last literal fulfillment of Ezekiel 9, and any future literal fulfillment must follow this sequential order. Ellen White reapplies Matthew 22:1-10 in Sermons and Talks, Vol. 1, pp. 4-9 and she specifically quotes verse 7.

The true disciples of Christ are now doing the very same thing you read about in Matthew 22:1-10.

Were these churches organized? Was Christ in their presence? Were they a break-up into atoms of the apostate Jewish Temple, or were they the true church of Christ?

Scripture on Home Churches

Act 16:32 And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.

Act 16:34 And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.

Act 16:40 And they went out of the prison, and entered into [the house of] Lydia: and when they had seen the brethren, they comforted them, and departed.

Act 18:7 And he departed thence, and entered into a certain [man's] house, named Justus, [one] that worshipped God, whose house joined hard to the synagogue.

Rom 16:5 Likewise [greet] the church that is in their house. Salute my well beloved Epaenetus, who is the firstfruits of Achaia unto Christ.

1Cr 1:11 For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them [which are of the house] of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.

1Cr 16:15 I beseech you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and [that] they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints,)

1Cr 16:19 The churches of Asia salute you. Aquila and Priscilla salute you much in the Lord, with the church that is in their house.

SDA leaders and much of the laity use Ellen White’s statements to Stanton and Caldwell on Babylon, totally out of context to make it appear that Ellen White said the church would NEVER be any part of Babylon. Is that true by the following statements?

If I can produce one statement by Ellen White that says the church could become Babylon, Ulicia and professing SDA leaders are wrong in their interpretation of other statements they use to imply it will never happen! Here is more than one such statement that the church could become part of Babylon:

"The world must not be introduced into the church, and married to the church, forming a bond of unity. Through this means the church will become indeed corrupt, and as stated in Revelation, 'a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.'" Testimonies to Ministers, p. 265.

The church was married to the world in the early 1930's when a few leaders adopted the world's Accreditation Standards for our educational facilities. Satan could have no finer track to the youth of the church than through the world's education curriculum.

No! It has become both COLD APOSTATE AND LUKEWARM. The liberals are cold apostate, and the conservatives are lukewarm.

"We must as a people arouse and cleanse the camp of Israel. Licentiousness, unlawful intimacy, and unholy practices are coming in among us in a large degree...We are in danger of becoming a sister to fallen Babylon, of allowing our churches to become corrupted and filled with every foul spirit, a cage for every unclean and hateful bird, and will we be clear unless we make decided movements to cure the existing evil? E. G. White, Manuscript Releases No. 449, pp. 17, 18. (Letter 51, 1886 to Elder Butler) Testimonies on Sexual Behavior, Adultery, and Divorce, p. 193.

An Adventist Review article says that the church has the same divorce rate per capita percentage ration as the world. Does that sound like the unlawful intimacies have been curbed and the camp has been cleansed?

"In the balances of the sanctuary the Seventh-day Adventist church is to be weighed. She will be judged by the privileges and advantages that she has had. . . .I saw our Instructor pointing to the garments of so-called righteousness. Stripping them of, He laid bare he defilement beneath. Then He said to me: 'Can you not see how they have pretentiously covered up their defilement and rottenness of character? How is the faithful city become an harlot?" E. G. White, Testimonies, Vol. 8, pp. 247-250.

Can anyone tell me when the church reformed and revived from it's harlot stance?

"The church cannot measure herself by the world nor by the opinion of men nor by what she ONCE was. Her faith and her position in the world as they NOW ARE must be COMPARED (JUDGED) with what they would have been if her course had been continually onward and upward. The church will be weighed in the balances of the sanctuary. If her moral character and spiritual state do not correspond with the benefits and blessings God has conferred upon her, SHE WILL BE FOUND WANTING." Testimonies, vol. 5, pp. 83, 84.

"When this church is weighed in the balances of the sanctuary, it is found wanting, having left its first love....What is the fatal deficiency?--'Thou has left thy first love...'

The light that gladdened your heart when you first understood the message for this time is an essential element in your experience and labors, and this has been lost out of your heart and life. Christ beholds your lack of zeal, and declares that you have FALLEN, and are in a perilous position." E.G. White, Review and Herald, vol. 2, pp. 462-3.

The following statement demands another coming out if YOU are not classed with those therein described:
