Dear Reader,

1:18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath
declared [him].
The above verse must be interpreted with
the following by the Spirit of Prophecy so that nothing contradicts.
Life,
Original, Unborrowed, Underived.—
So in order to interpret so as to not
contradict either the Bible or the Spirit of Prophecy, one must conclude that
the meaning of the statement that the Son came from the bosom of the Father,
would mean that this occurred when the Son was slain from the foundation of the
earth by beginning His Incarnation evolvement.
I
believe EXACTLY as the following document teaches except for the fact that I
don’t believe that Clarence Settle believes Ellen White’s statement that the
Holy Spirit is the life and soul of Christ.
That may be the test of his humility.
He is errant on that point and his document (link below) does not handle
Ellen White’s statement that the Holy Spirit is the life and soul of Christ. At
one time I misunderstood that Christ
from eternity came from the Father’s bosom, but that is not my belief
presently. That was totally due to misunderstanding
and not knowing Ellen White’s statements that imply that Christ came from the
Father’s bosom at His Incarnation. As
soon as I was aware of her statements on this matter of the Son coming from the
Father’s bosom at His Incarnation, I immediately altered my view. That is all one can do if he/she is seeking
pure truth.

Ellen White said: “The Eternal
Father, the unchangeable One, gave His only begotten Son, tore from His bosom
Him who was made in the express image of His person, and sent Him down to earth
to reveal how greatly He loved mankind.” Review and Herald Articles,
July 9, 1895.
We further read: “Then joy,
inexpressible joy, filled heaven. And the heavenly host sang a song of praise
and adoration. They touched their harps and sang a note higher than they had
done before, for the great mercy and condescension of God in yielding up his
dearly Beloved to die for a race of rebels. Praise and adoration were poured
forth for the self-denial and sacrifice of Jesus; that he would consent to
leave the bosom of his Father, and choose a life of suffering and anguish,
and die an ignominious death to give life to others.” 1SG: 26. And again
we read: “Jesus was the Majesty of
heaven, the beloved Commander of the angels, whose delight was to do his
pleasure. He was one with God, in the bosom of the Father; yet He
thought it not a thing to be desired to be equal with God while man was lost in
sin and misery. He stepped down from his throne. He left his crown and
royal scepter, and clothed his divinity with humanity. He humbled Himself even
to the death of the cross, that man might be exalted to a seat with Him upon
his throne.” Bible Echo and
Signs of the Times 03-15-93
“Christ did not LITERALLY
dwell WITHIN the bosom of His Father, for if it were so then we must believe
that His throne, crown and scepter were LITERALLY within the Father, and that
He commanded the angels from there also in some kind of a kangaroo pouch-like
arraignment. What folly and utter foolishness and yea blasphemy indeed! What
the term “within His bosom” simply is intended to convey is the indescribably
close and intimate relationship that the Son and Father had which could not be
any closer in the least degree.” Clarence Settle.
God
tests his servants. He tested Ellen and
James White on the Sabbath issue. They
fought against it for a time. God could
have shown Ellen White the truth of the Sabbath issue in vision before she
moved against it, but that was not His plan.
He thus tested the humility of both she and her husband. They finally came to the light on that important
issues involving one of the commandments no less! That is the important thing.
Sincerely
in the Lord Jesus,
Ron
