How God Works in Response to Unpardonable Sin ApostasyClick to go to our Home PageDear Reader, A sage and long-time elder in the SDA
church (now deceased), who taught a group of reformers in home cottage
meetings, said: “If you want to know how God will work in
the future, look at how He has worked in the past, for God does not change
His principles of dealing with His people. As a just God, He will deal with
error and apostasy as He dealt with His first chosen people, lest He be a
partial judge, and He is not so.” I believe that the wise counsel of that
elder, who was one of the most godly men I have ever encountered, can be
proven from Scripture and the Spirit of Prophecy. It is the objective of this
study to do just that. The following statement has been used by
erring leaders and laymen in the church for decades in excusing sin and
apostasy in the church. "There is no need to doubt, to be fearful
that the work will not succeed. God is at the head of the work, and He will
set everything in order. If matters need adjusting at the head of the work,
God will attend to that, and work to right every wrong. Let us have faith
that God is going to carry the noble ship which bears the people of God
safely into port." E.G. White, Selected
Messages, vol. 2, 390. We know that the work will succeed. A
faithful remnant will triumph, but just how does God set everything in order
when the church commits unpardonable sin apostasy? We have been given a clear
answer to that question by God and Ellen White. The
Principle God Uses God, in His mercy, gave us the history of
His first chosen people so that we might know the consequences of apostasy
and how He will deal with it. Now that gross omega apostasy has been imbibed
by the professing Seventh-day Adventist church, the Lord will follow the same
course with the SDA church that He used with Israel. How do you know that for
sure? Because the Bible and the Spirit
of Prophecy say exactly what God did in the past and what He will do in the
future regarding apostasy of the church. Ensample 1Cr 10:11 Now all these things happened
unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom
the ends of the world are come. Friends, the church elder
was right. God says that He gave us Israel’s history as an ensample
(example). His dealings with them was a sample of how He will deal with any
church if it follows the same course as apostate Israel. Have Adventists
indeed followed the same course as ancient Israel, God’s first chosen people? "Now it is just
EXACTLY as in the days of the Jews. When a message came in, why all the power
of the leaders WAS PUT AGAINST IT, THAT IT SHOULD NOT HAVE ACCESS TO THE
PEOPLE. Now, brethren, GO TO GOD FOR YOURSELVES, and on your knees plead with
God...If God sends us light, let it come to us, and let no man close the
door, or try to close it. Don't close it yourselves. Open the door of your
heart and let the brilliant rays of light shine into your heart and into your
mind. I pray you, let the Sun of Righteousness in." E.G. White, Manuscript
Release #900, Manuscript 9, 1890. 1888 Materials, p. 541. Jeremiah 11:9-15 is God’s
line in the sand for any corporate church. Let’s review that chapter to see
explicitly how SDA’s have crossed God’s line in the sand:
Seventh-day Adventists made
a covenant with God at the time the church was organized: "Like ancient Israel, the church has dishonored her God by
departing from the light, neglecting her duties, and abusing her high and
exalted privilege of being peculiar and holy in character. Her members
have violated their covenant to live for God and him only. They have
joined with the selfish and world-loving. Pride, the love of pleasure, and
sin have been cherished, and CHRIST HAS DEPARTED. His Spirit has been
quenched in the church. Satan works wide by side with professed Christians
yet they are so destitute of spiritual discernment that they do not detect
him." E.G. White, Testimonies,
Vol. 2, pp. 441-442. Violating the covenant is harlotry, but not unpardonable sin.
Unpardonable sin did not occur in Ellen White’s day. That is why she had no
cause to leave the church. But we will see how the SDA church finally did
commit unpardonable sin by the following strictly forbidden acts: · Conspiring
to join Babylon’s Associations, Councils, Girdings, and Confederacies. Being
called out of Babylon was tantamount to Israel’s gathering out of Egypt. All
who returned to Egypt after being led out by Moses, committed unpardonable
sin. · Returning
to the iniquities of her forefathers by teaching their false gospel of
forensic justification only as being meritorious toward salvation. We are
chosen for salvation by sanctification and belief[RB1] —all by the empowerment of the Divine Nature of
Christ. God says to accurse any, even an angel who should come to you with
another gospel. · Rejoicing
(Celebration worship—strange fire unto Baal) after committing the above
unpardonable sins. How do we know they are unpardonable? Because God told
Jeremiah not to pray for the generation of Israel that committed the same
sins. Celebration worship as practiced by the youth in the church is like a
hard rock concert. This is like burning incense unto Baal. Ecumenical
fraternity with Babylon is as burning incense unto Baal. Every SDA
Celebration church is an altar to burn incense unto Baal. · It should
be an empirical truth to every discerning mind that God’s instruction to
Jeremiah, telling him not to pray for his generation of apostate Jews,
implies unpardonable sin. The type of watchmen described in Isaiah 56:10-12,
will never understand this truth. · When a
church commits unpardonable sin, God’s methods of dealing with such a church
are well documented in this study. · The church
adopted Babylon’s Trinity Doctrine, Rome’s Central Doctrine, which she admits
in her Catechism cannot be supported by Scripture. The primary verse used has
“supplied” words. A false doctrine on the Godhead is blasphemy against the
Holy Spirit and such blasphemy is unpardonable sin. When Israel of Christ’s generation committed unpardonable sin
apostasy, what was His response? How did He adjust matters at the head of the
work? "Christ was a protestant...The Reformers date back to Christ
and the apostles. They came out and separated themselves from a religion of
forms and ceremonies. Luther and his followers did not invent the reformed
religion. They simply accepted it as presented by Christ and the
apostles." E.G. White, Review and
Herald, Vol. 2, 48, col. 2. Is not Christ our example? "The Sanhedrin had rejected Christ's message and was bent
upon His death therefore Jesus departed from Jerusalem, from the priests, the
temple, the religious leaders, the people who had been instructed in the law,
and turned to another class to proclaim His message, and to gather out those
who should carry the gospel to all nations." Desire of Ages, 232. Paul left "And as they persisted in their rejection of the gospel the
apostle (Paul) went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space for
three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of
God. But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that
way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples,
disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus." Acts, 19:8, 9. "Fearing that the faith of the believers would be endangered
by continued association with these opposers of the truth, Paul separated
from them, and gathered the disciples into a distinct body." E.G. White,
Acts of the Apostles, p. 286. Love
for Christ and faith in His coming waxed cold. Such is the sure result of
neglect to appreciate and improve the light and privileges which God bestows.
Unless the church will follow on in his opening providence, accepting every
ray of light, performing every duty which may be revealed, religion will
inevitably degenerate into the observance of forms, and the spirit of vital godliness
will disappear. This truth has been repeatedly illustrated in the history of
the church. God requires of his people works of faith and obedience
corresponding to the blessings and privileges bestowed. Obedience requires a
sacrifice and involves a cross; and this is why so many of the professed
followers of Christ refused to receive the light from Heaven, and, like the
Jews of old, knew not the time of their visitation. [LUKE 19:44.] Because of
their pride and unbelief, the Lord passed them by, and revealed his truth to
men in humble life, who had given heed to all the light they had
received. E.G. White, Spirit of Prophecy, Vol. 4, pp.
199-200, (Not to be confused with Testimonies,
Vol. 4). "I have been shown
that the spirit of the world is fast leavening the church. You are
following the same path as did ancient Israel. There is the same
falling away from your holy calling as God's peculiar people. You are
having fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness. Your concord with
unbelievers have provoked he Lord's displeasure. You know not the things that
belong to your peace, and they are fast being hid from your eyes. [The very
words applied to fallen Israel on page 17 of The Great Controversy] Your neglect to follow the light will
place you in a more unfavorable
position than the Jews upon whom Christ pronounced a woe." Testimonies, Vol. 5, pp. 75-76. Why “a more unfavorable
position than the Jews?” Because we have had their example. We thus have no
excuse for repeating their history. "Like ancient Israel,
the church has dishonored her God by departing from the light, neglecting her
duties, and abusing her high and exalted privilege of being peculiar and holy
in character. Her members have violated their covenant to live for God and
him only. They have joined with the selfish and world-loving. Pride, the love
of pleasure, and sin have been cherished, and CHRIST HAS DEPARTED. His Spirit
has been quenched in the church. Satan works wide by side with professed Christians
yet they are so destitute of spiritual discernment that they do not detect
him." E.G. White, Testimonies, Vol. 2, pp.
441-442. "Among the professed
followers of Christ, there is the same pride, formalism, vainglory,
selfishness, and OPPRESSION, that existed in the Jewish nation." E.G.
White, Sketches
from the Life of Paul, 251-252. Worse than Babylon --
"God's professed people are selfish and self-caring....They are
idolaters, and are worse, in the sight of God, than the heathen, graven-image
worshippers who have had no knowledge of a better way." Testimonies, Vol. 2, 441-442. COUNTERPART: "The Lord commanded one of his ancient
servants, 'Pray not thou for this people [Jer. 7:16 and 11:14], neither lift
up cry nor prayer for them neither make intercession to me for I will not
hear thee.' The prophet thus describes the sins which had called forth this
fearful denunciation: 'The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear
rule by their means and my people love to have it so and what will ye do in
the end thereof?' 'From the least of them even unto the greatest of them,
every one is given to covetousness and from the prophet even unto the priest,
every one dealeth falsely. They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of
my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace, when there is no peace.' The
apostles declare that this state of things will find its COUNTERPART in the
last days. Many have a form of godliness, but in their daily life deny the
power thereof. They have ceased to be convicted of their sins or alarmed at
their state. They say in their hearts, 'The church is flourishing. Peace and
spiritual prosperity are within her borders.' The words of the prophet may
well apply to these self-deceivers, 'They have chosen their own ways, and
their soul delighteth in their abominations. I also will choose their
delusions, and will bring their fears upon them." E. G. White, Second Advent Review and Sabbath
Herald, 11-07-82. COUNTERPART: "In the time of the Saviour, the Jews had so
covered over the precious jewels of truth with the rubbish of tradition and
fable, that it was impossible to distinguish the true from the false. The
Saviour came to clear away the rubbish of superstition and long-cherished
errors, and to set the jewels of God's word in the framework of truth. What
would the Saviour do if he should come to us now as he did to the Jews? He
would have to do a similar work in clearing away the rubbish of tradition and
ceremony. The Jews were greatly disturbed when he did this work [As are SDAs
today!]. They had lost sight of the original truth of God, but Christ brought
it again to view. It is our work to free the precious truths of God from
superstition and error." E.G. White, Review and Herald, vol. 2, 308. There is a modern COUNTERPART to the ancient apostate
"chosen people" of God. That modern COUNTERPART is the people who
claim to be the modern "chosen people" of God, the remnant, if you
will. "The Lord Jesus will always have a chosen people to
serve Him. When the Jewish people rejected Christ, the Prince of life. He
took from them the kingdom of God and gave it unto the Gentiles. God will
continue to work on this principle with every branch of His work. When a
church proves unfaithful to the work of the Lord, whatever their position may
be, however high and sacred their calling, the Lord can no longer work with
them. Others are then chosen to bear important responsibilities. But, if
these in turn do not purify their lives from every wrong action, if they do
not establish pure and holy principles in all their borders, then the Lord
will grievously afflict and humble them and, unless they repent, will remove
them from their place and make them a reproach. God is not 'worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing' (Acts 17:25). E. G. White, The Upward Look, 131. SDA’s, like the Jews of old, believe that God needs them no
matter what they do! That is not true friend. God wanted SDA’s to give the
gospel to the world, but since they have failed in fulfilling their
commission, these are His options. 1.
Luk 19:40 And he answered and said unto them, I
tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would
immediately cry out. 2.
At Christ’s resurrection, the faithful bride of
all ages was raised to help give the gospel to the then known world. God has
shown this writer that He will do this very thing again at the end-time. 3.
Firmament of Chosen ones -- “Among
earth’s inhabitants, scattered in every land, there are those who have not
bowed the knee to Baal. Like the stars of heaven, which appear only at night,
these faithful ones will shine forth when darkness covers the earth and gross
darkness the people. In heathen Africa, in the Catholic lands of Europe and
of South America, in China, in India, in the islands of the sea, and in all
the dark corners of the earth, God has in reserve a firmament of chosen ones
that will yet shine forth amidst the darkness, revealing clearly to an apostate
world the transforming power of obedience to His law. Even now they are
appearing in every nation, among every tongue and people; and in the hour of
deepest apostasy, when Satan’s supreme effort is made to cause ‘all, both
small and great, rich and poor, free and bond,’ to receive, under penalty of
death, the sign of allegiance to a false rest day, these faithful ones,
‘blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke,’ will ‘shine as
lights in the world.’ Revelation 16; Philippians 2:15. The darker the night,
the more brilliantly will they shine.”— Prophets
and Kings, 188-189. 4.
"He will take his Holy Spirit from the
church and Give it to OTHERS who will appreciate it." E. G. White, Review and Herald, July 16, 1895, Vol.
3, 272. The firmament of chosen ones are some of the OTHERS to whom God
is giving His Holy Spirit. SDA leaders are going to be very surprised, as
will the Jews, that God does not need an apostate people to fulfill His
mission to the world. God wants us to give the gospel FOR OUR OWN
BENEFIT. But as far as giving it to
the world is concerned, He can write it all in the sky, and He will. Ellen
White saw His ten-commandment law, His fiery law, written in fire in the sky
at the end-time. The law and the gospel are inseparable, for the gospel is
God’s means of appeasing His law, His Everlasting Covenant. How Will
SDA Leaders Respond to This Most Startling Message? Lost their reason -- “But we see
that the God of heaven sometimes commissions men to teach that which is regarded
as contrary to the established doctrines. Because those who were once the depositaries of truth became
unfaithful to their sacred trust, the Lord chose others who would
receive the bright beams of the Sun of Righteousness, and would advocate
truths that were not in accordance with
the ideas of the religious leaders. And then these leaders, in the blindness of their minds, give full
sway to what is supposed to be righteous indignation against the ones who
have set aside cherished fables. They act like men who have lost their reason.
They do not consider the possibility that they
themselves have not rightly understood the word. They will not open their
eyes to discern the fact that they have misinterpreted and misapplied the Scriptures,
and have built up false theories, calling them fundamental doctrines of the
faith. {TM 69.2} In the Jewish nation those whom the
Lord had made depositaries of truth, had proved unfaithful to their trust,
and the Lord chose others to
do His work. In their blindness these leaders gave full sway to what they
called righteous indignation against the ones who were setting aside
cherished fables. They would not admit that there was a possibility that they
themselves did not rightly understand the Word, or that they had
misinterpreted or misapplied the Scriptures. They acted like men who had
lost their reason. What right have these men, they reasoned, some of them
mere fishermen, to present ideas contrary to the doctrines which we teach the
people? {ST, September 20, 1899 par. 9} But the Holy Spirit will, from time to time, reveal the truth
through its own chosen agencies; and no man, not even a priest or
ruler, has a right to say, You shall not give publicity to your opinions,
because I do not believe them. That wonderful "I" may attempt to
put down the Holy Spirit's teaching. Men may for a time attempt to smother it
and kill it; but that will not make error truth, or truth error. The
inventive minds of men have advanced speculative opinions in various lines,
and when the Holy Spirit lets light shine into human minds, it does not
respect every point of man's application of the word. God impressed His
servants to speak the truth irrespective of what men had taken for granted as
truth. {TM 70.1} Even Seventh-day Adventists are in danger of closing their eyes
to truth as it is in Jesus, because it contradicts something which they have
taken for granted as truth but which the Holy Spirit teaches is not truth.
Let all be very modest, and seek most earnestly to put self out of the
question, and to exalt Jesus. In most of the religious controversies the
foundation of the trouble is that self is striving for the supremacy. About
what? About matters which are not vital points at all, and which are regarded
as such only because men have given importance to them. (See Matthew
12:31-37; Mark 14:56; Luke 5:21; Matthew 9:3.) {TM 70-71} Was
Apostasy of the Church to be Certain? "One thing it is certain is soon to be realized, the great
apostasy, which is developing and increasing and waxing stronger, and will
continue to do so until the Lord shall descend from heaven with a shout. We
are to hold fast the first principles of our denominated faith, and go
forward from strength to increased faith. Ever we are to keep the faith
that has been substantiated by the Holy Spirit of God from the earlier events
of our experience until the present time. We need now larger breadth, and
deeper, more earnest, unwavering faith in the leadings of the Holy Spirit. If
we needed the manifest proof of the Holy Spirit's power to confirm truth in
the beginning, after the passing of the time, we need to-day all the evidence
in the confirmation of the truth, when souls are departing from the faith and
giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. There must not be
any languishing of soul now." (E.G. White, Special Testimonies, Series B, No. 7, p. 57). Obviously, Ellen White was speaking of
apostasy in the SDA church, because she warned that “We” are to hold fast the
first principles of our denominated faith. Those first principles are being
undermined daily. "The prophets of God spoke less for their own time than for
the ages to come, and especially for the generation that would live amid the
last scenes of this earth's history" (Signs of the Times, "The Way, the Truth, and the Life,"
No. 2, January 13, 1898, par. 8). "The Bible Prophets Wrote for Our Time.--Never are we absent
from the mind of God. God is our joy and our salvation. Each of the ancient
prophets spoke less for their own time than for ours, so that their
prophesying is in force for us. 'Now all these things happened unto them for
ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the
world are come' (1 Cor. 10:11). 'Not unto themselves, but unto us they did
minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have
preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven which
things the angels desire to look into' (1 Peter 1:12).'" E.G. White, Selected Messages, vol. 3, p. 338. "Christ was a protestant...The Reformers date back to
Christ and the apostles. They came out and separated themselves from a
religion of forms and ceremonies. Luther and his followers did not invent the
reformed religion. They simply accepted it as presented by Christ and the
apostles." E.G. White, Review and
Herald, vol. 2, 48, col. 2. "The Sanhedrin had rejected Christ's message and was
bent upon His death therefore Jesus departed from Jerusalem, from the
priests, the temple, the religious leaders, the people who had been
instructed in the law, and turned to another class to proclaim His message,
and to gather out those who should carry the gospel to all nations. As the light and life of men was rejected by the ecclesiastical
authorities in the days of Christ, so it has been rejected in every
succeeding generation. Again and again the history of Christ's withdrawal
from Judea has been repeated. When the Reformers preached the word of God,
they had no thought of separating themselves from the established church but
the religious leaders would not tolerate the light, and those that bore it
were forced to seek another class, who were longing for the truth. In our day
few of the professed followers of the Reformers are actuated by their spirit.
Few are listening for the voice of God, and ready to accept truth in whatever
guise it may be presented. Often those who follow in the steps of the
Reformers are forced to turn away from the churches they love, in order to
declare the plain teaching of the word of God. And many times those who are
seeking for light are by the same teaching obliged to leave the church of
their fathers, that they may render obedience." E.G. White, Desire of Ages, 232. "While others try to throw a cloak over the existing evil,
and excuse the great wickedness everywhere prevalent, those who have a zeal
for God's honor and a love for souls will not hold their peace to obtain
favor of any. Their righteous souls are vexed day by day with the unholy
works and conversation of the unrighteous. They are powerless to stop the
rushing torrent of iniquity, and hence they are filled with grief and alarm.
They mourn before God to see religion despised in the very homes of those who
have had great light. They lament and afflict their souls because pride,
avarice, selfishness, and deception of almost every kind are in the church.
The Spirit of God, which prompts to reproof, is trampled underfoot, while the
servants of Satan triumph. God is dishonored, the truth made of none
effect" Testimonies, Vol. 5,
pp. 210, 211. Small Number of SDA’s Saved -- "I was shown the startling
fact that but a small portion of those who now profess the truth will be
sanctified by it and be saved. Many will get above the simplicity of the
work. They will conform to the world, cherish idols, and become spiritually
dead. The humble, self-sacrificing followers of Jesus will pass on to
perfection, leaving behind the indifferent and lovers of the world." Testimonies, Vol. 1, 608. In every generation God has sent His servants to
rebuke sin, both in the world and in the church. But
the people desire smooth things spoken to them, and the pure, unvarnished
truth is not acceptable. Many reformers, in entering upon their work,
determined to exercise great prudence in attacking the sins of the church and
the nation. They hoped, by the example of a pure Christian life, to lead the
people back to the doctrines of the Bible. But the Spirit of God came upon
them as it came upon Elijah, moving him to rebuke the sins of a wicked king
and an apostate people; they could not refrain from preaching the plain
utterances of the Bible-- doctrines which they had been reluctant to present.
They were impelled to zealously declare the truth and the danger which
threatened souls. The words which the Lord gave them they uttered, fearless
of consequences, and the people were compelled to hear the warning. Thus the message of the
third angel will be proclaimed. As the time comes for it to be given with
greatest power, the Lord will work through
humble instruments, leading the minds of those who consecrate themselves to
His service. The laborers will be
qualified rather by the unction of His Spirit than by the training of
literary institutions. Men of faith and prayer will be constrained to go
forth with holy zeal, declaring the words which God gives them. The sins of
Babylon will be laid open. The fearful results of enforcing the observances
of the church by civil authority, the inroads of spiritualism, the stealthy
but rapid progress of the papal power--all will be unmasked. By these solemn
warnings the people will be stirred. Thousands upon thousands will listen who
have never heard words like these. In amazement they hear the testimony that Babylon is the church, fallen because of
her errors and sins, because of her rejection of the truth sent to her from
heaven. As the people go to their former teachers with the eager inquiry,
Are these things so? The ministers present fables, prophesy smooth things to soothe their fears and quiet the awakened
conscience. But since many refuse to be satisfied with the mere authority of
men and demand a plain "Thus saith the Lord," the popular ministry,
like the Pharisees of old, filled with anger as their authority is
questioned, will denounce the message as of Satan and stir up the sin-loving
multitudes to revile and persecute those who proclaim it. The Great Controversy, p. 606-7. Different periods in the
history of the church have each been marked by the development of some special
truth, adapted to the necessities of God's people at that time. Every new
truth has made its way against hatred and opposition; those who were blessed
with its light were tempted and tried. The Lord gives a special truth for the
people in an emergency. Who dare refuse to publish it? He commands His
servants to present the last invitation of mercy to the world. They cannot
remain silent, except at the peril of their souls. Christ's ambassadors have
nothing to do with consequences. They must perform their duty and leave
results with God. The Great
Controversy, pp. 609-10. An example of a special
truth for our day is the declaration as to the many ways the church has
fulfilled every specification of the New Movement prophesied by Ellen White
in Selected Messages, Bk. 1, 204-5.
Ellen White said that
the apostasy would involve the personality of God and Christ. And so it does
by the church’s adoption of Babylon’s central doctrine, the Trinity Doctrine,
that totally ignores the fact that the Holy Spirit is the life of soul of
Jesus Christ, that He emptied Himself of at His Incarnation and extended that
life, that Divine Nature ONLY, as a “greatest good, crowning” bequeathed gift
to us. That was and is the means by which we are proffered the Divine Nature
of Christ: 2Pe 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding
great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine
nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through
lust. The work of the holy
Spirit is immeasurably great. It is from this source that power and
efficiency come to the worker for God; and the holy Spirit is the comforter,
as the personal presence of Christ to the soul. He who looks to Christ in
simple, childlike faith, is made a partaker of the divine nature
through the agency of the holy Spirit. When led by the Spirit of God, the
Christian may know that he is made complete in him who is the head of all
things. As Christ was glorified on the day of Pentecost, so will he again be
glorified in the closing work of the gospel, when he shall prepare a people
to stand the final test, in the closing conflict of the great controversy.
The prophet describes the enemy's plan of battle saying:-- {E.G. White, RH,
November 29, 1892 par. 3} That Divine Nature gift
of His Holy Spirit Divine Nature ONLY, is the cure for sin. That is why it is
the “greatest good, crowning gift that heaven could bestow.” "Christ declared that after his ascension, he would send to
his church, as his crowning gift, the Comforter, who was to take his place.
This Comforter is the Holy Spirit,--the soul of his life, the efficacy of his
church, the light and life of the world. With his Spirit Christ sends a
reconciling influence and a power that takes away sin. In the gift of the Spirit [HIS LIFE--THE SOUL OF HIS LIFE], Jesus
gave to man the highest good that heaven could bestow.... The Spirit was given as a regenerating agency, and without this
the sacrifice of Christ would have been of no avail.... It is by the Spirit that the heart is made pure. Through the
Spirit the believer becomes a partaker of the divine nature. Christ has given
his Spirit as a divine power to overcome all hereditary and cultivated
tendencies to evil, and to impress his own character upon the church."
E.G. White, Review and Herald Articles,
May 19, 1904, vol. 5, p. 42. “Cumbered with humanity Christ could not be in every place
personally, therefore it was altogether for their advantage that He should
leave them to go to His Father and send the Holy Spirit to be His successor
on earth. The Holy Spirit is Himself divested of the personality of humanity
and independent thereof. He would represent Himself as present in all places
by His Holy Spirit.” E.G. White, (Manuscript
Releases Volume 14 (No’s 1081-1135) MR No.1084. July 16, 1892: The Saviour is our Comforter. This I have proved
Him to be. {8MR 49.3} The Holy Spirit is the
Comforter, in Christ's name. He personifies Christ, yet is a distinct
personality. We may have the Holy Spirit if we ask for it and make it [a]
habit to turn to and trust in God rather than in any finite human agent who
may make mistakes. {20MR 324.2} There is
altogether too little made of the work of the Holy Spirit's influence upon
the church. Altogether too much dependence is placed upon the individual
human agencies to bring success into the church. Where there is genuine piety
in a church, there will be a genuine faith in the manifestations of the Holy
Spirit's efficiency. It is depending so largely upon man and his supposed
capabilities and his education and his knowledge that eclipses the Lord God,
who is All-power and can help, and will help, and longs to manifest Himself
to every neglected, cast-down soul who feels that he is weak in moral power.
He must rely upon the Word of God with unwavering confidence, and not be
continually making the arm of flesh his dependence and his trust. {20MR 323.4} How can the
church avail itself of the work of the Holy Spirit’s influence when it has grieved
away the Holy Spirit by adopting Rome’s concept of the Holy Spirit in
defiance of God’s identification as to who the Holy Spirit is? The people of God are to be called out
from their association with worldlings[RB2] and evil-doers, to stand in the battle
for the Lord against the powers of darkness. When the earth is lightened with
the glory of God, we shall see a work similar to that which was wrought when
the disciples, filled with the holy Spirit, proclaimed the power of a risen
Saviour. The light of heaven penetrated the darkened minds of those who had
been deceived by the enemies of Christ, and the false representation of him
was rejected; for through the efficiency of the holy Spirit they now saw him
exalted to be a prince and Saviour, to give repentance unto Israel, and
remission of sins. They saw him encircled with the glory of heaven, with
infinite treasures in his hands to bestow upon those who turn from their
rebellion. As the apostles set forth the glory of the only begotten of the Father,
3,000 souls were pricked to the heart, and they were made to see themselves
as they were, sinful and polluted, and Christ as their Saviour and Redeemer.
Christ was lifted up, Christ was glorified, through the power of the holy
Spirit resting upon men. By the eye of faith these believers saw him as the
one who had borne humiliation, suffering, and death, that they might not
perish, but have everlasting life. As they looked upon his spotless
righteousness, they saw their own deformity and pollution, and were filled
with godly fear, with love and adoration for Him who gave his life a
sacrifice for them. They humbled their souls to the very dust, and repented
of their wicked works, and glorified God for his salvation. {RH, November 29, 1892 par. 5} SDA leaders use
the excuse that we have to associate with Babylon in order to convert
them. So I asked Dr. B.B. Beach how
many have been converted since Adventists began associating with Babylonians
since the 1950’s. He could not name
one person! God will not bless such efforts that contravene His explicit
instructions to us, Isaiah 8:9-13. Friend, all who
are violating the above truth KNOWINGLY, are committing unpardonable sin.
There are a number of independent ministries teaching this fact, and it is
present truth. You have better pray long and hard before rejecting these
truths of God’s Word and the Spirit of Prophecy. God bless all who
are willing to heed His Present Truth Word, Ron Beaulieu |
[RB1]1Cr 1:30 But
of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and
righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
1Th 4:3 For
this is the will of God, [even] your sanctification, that ye should
abstain from fornication:
1Th 4:4 That
every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification
and honour;
2Th 2:13 But
we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord,
because God hath from the beginning chosen
you to salvation through sanctification
of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
1Pe 1:2 Elect
according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification
of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ:
Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.
[RB2]In Early Writings, p. 273, Ellen White says that the fallen churches of Babylon cannot be distinguished from the world. So they are worldlings and we are not to be members of their Ministerial Associations. Isaiah 8:9-13.
