sprouting.
Options to hydroponic gardening
include using soil and/or washed sand as a growing medium and using organic
fertilizer for nutrients. This
combination, along with a good grow light, is a relatively cheap methodology
that will produce good results but not quite as fast as hydroponics.

Sprouting
The quickest way to produce nutritious
food is seed and bean sprouting. Sprouting is easy to do but one must use
care in cleanliness and storage time for sprouts so that harmful bacteria

options. For example freeze dried foods which back-packers use have a 10-50
year shelf life. Dried legumes provide an excellent and durable source for
