Matthew 16:15-18 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And
Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the
living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou,
Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee,
but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That
thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the
gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
The foundation, the ROCK of Peter's confession of faith was his
words,"Thou art the Christ, the Son of the Living God". This is the
bedrock foundation of the christian faith--affirmed by the Son of
God Himself, that Jesus Christ is God's Son! Now, if the bedrock
foundation of the christian faith is the fact that Jesus is the
Annointed One, the Son of the Living God, then its logical to
conclude that any confession of faith that denies that Jesus Christ
is the Son of the Living God is NOT founded upon the Rock that will
prevail against all the forces of hell. The trinity doctrine
embraces such a false confession of faith. For the trinity doctrine
maintains that there exist three unrelated Gods or deities who just
so happen to be of the same age, the same nature, the same
character, the same in power, the same in authority, the same in
love. Basically, what this doctrine is saying is that there are
THREE ALMIGHTY God's!
What this doctrine is saying is that there are
THREE LIVING GODS - none of which had a son. In fact, this doctrine
maintains that these THREE LIVING GODS decided that in order to save
mankind from sin, THEY would have to play the game of PRETEND and
playact certain ROLES. One of the Jehovah Gods consented to play the
role of the Father. The second Jehovah God consented to play the
role of the Son. And the third Jehovah God consented to play the
role of the regenerating Spirit. That's what I was taught in my SDA
church! So, we have here a doctrine that states that there are three
Jehovah's - all three Lord Gods Almighties. None of them had a Son
to send to this world as a sacrifice - therefore THEY invented one.
This is basically what we're taught in this trinity doctrine. Not in
those exact words, but by implication, the sentiment is surely
there - it couldn't be otherwise. And that's why it cannot be
explained and we're told we just must accept it as one of those
mysteries that are kept secret by God!
Although there's nothing in
the bible that states that the identity of God is a secret! God is
surely too big for us to understand to perfection, but of His
identity He surely kept no secret! I believe that there's more than
one reason why satan would want to keep the truth about God having a
literal Son from His people. But I'd like to focus on one of those
reasons briefly. The following scripture makes my point:
1John 5:5 - Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that
believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
The above verse states that only those who believe that Jesus is the
Son of God will overcome the world! A very strong and bold
statement, is it not? According to that verse of scripture, only
those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God will overcome sin,
will be victorious over sin! Why is that specific belief so
important in order to overcome sin? What is in believing that Jesus
is the Son of God that's powerful enough to make us victorious over
sin? I believe the answer is here:
1John 4:15 - Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God,
God dwelleth in him, and he in God.
Interesting! According to the above verse, God only dwells in the
person who believes that Jesus is His Son. But Why? Why would God
not dwell within a person who denies that Jesus is His Son? I
believe the answer is here:
John 14:17-18,23 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot
receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know
him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave
you comfortless: I will come to you. Jesus answered and said unto
him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will
love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
The above scriptures tell us that both the Father and His Son dwell
within each believer by virtue of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit
provides the very personal presence of God and Christ. God and
Christ share the same Spirit, i.e., the same thoughts, nature,
disposition, yet they are distinct persons. The only way that God
and Christ can indwell their children is by their Spirit. But
there's a problem - its called the trinity.
The trinity teaches that
the Holy Spirit is in fact a third God called "God the Spirit". The
trinitarian concept denies that the Holy Spirit is the actual
personal presence of the Father and the Son but really is a
different being altogether. They don't believe that they actually
have the Father and the Son dwelling in them, they are believing the
trinitarian lie that its another god altogether that's indwelling
them. And the bible makes it clear that the Father and the Son dwell
within their children by FAITH. But the trinitarian view doesn't
allow such a faith because they deny the literal relationship of the
Father and the Son and they ascribe another god altogether to the
Holy Spirit and therefore the Father and the Son cannot indwell
those that do not believe that Jesus is the Son of God. Its not an
arbitrary choice on God's part. Its the poor choices on our part
that lead us to not have the proper faith and belief upon which the
blessing would be realized.
Here's the opening scripture in its full context:
1 John 5:1-5 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born
of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also
that is begotten of him. By this we know that we love the children
of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the
love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are
not grievous. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world:
and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that
Jesus is the Son of God?
All who believe that Jesus is the Christ and loves "Him that begat"
(the Father) and "Him also that is begotten of Him" (the Son) is
born of God. We need to know the One who did the begetting and
believe that He did so and the One who was begotten and believe that
He was so in order to fully appreciate and love Him to our full
potential. When we understand and believe these two truths plus the
third truth that the Father and His Son are present within us by
Their Spirit, THEN, we will have the power from within to overcome
the world, to overcome all of our besetting sins and thus allow the
gospel of grace to do its perfect work in us. This is our calling.
May God richly bless and protect all as we continue to study and
apply His word.
