The
Life (Regenerating Agency) is in the Blood of Christ
Click to go to our Home PageWhen the following facts are
interpreted so that nothing contradicts, one can come to only one conclusion;
that the Holy Spirit is the original, first estate Life of Christ before His
Incarnation: "The blood (LIFE) of
Jesus Christ. . . cleanseth
us from all sin" 1 John 1:7. The life is in the blood.
Lev. 17:10-14. "The Spirit was given as
a regenerating agency, and without this the sacrifice of Christ would have
been of no avail." E.G. White, Review and Herald, May 19, 1904, The
Promise of the Spirit, pr. 3, "The Power of God in the
Third Person.--The prince of the power of evil can only be held in check by
the power of God in the third person of the Godhead, the Holy Spirit.--E.G.
White, Evangelism, p. 617. "Christ is THE SOURCE of
every right impulse. He is the ONLY ONE who can arouse in the natural heart,
enmity against sin. He is THE SOURCE of our power if we would be saved."
E.G. White, Review and Herald, April 1, 1890. The regenerating agency is
the Holy Spirit--the blood (LIFE) of Jesus Christ, not some distinct,
separate from Christ third person Holy Spirit other than Christ's original
life He laid aside for us at His Incarnation. I asked God to show me from
Scripture where "The impartation of the Spirit is the impartation of the
life of Christ." "The Holy Spirit is the
breath of spiritual life in the soul. The impartation of the Spirit is the
impartation of the life of Christ. It imbues the receiver with the attributes
of Christ. Only those who are thus taught of God, those who possess the
inward working of the Spirit, and in whose life the Christ-life is
manifested, are to stand as representative men, to minister in behalf of the
church." Desire of Ages, 805. "Christ declared that
after His ascension, he would send to his church, as his crowning GIFT, the
comforter, who is the Holy Spirit,--THE SOUL OF HIS LIFE, THE EFFICACY OF HIS
CHURCH, THE LIGHT AND LIFE OF THE WORLD. With HIS
SPIRIT Christ sends a reconciling influence and a power that takes away sin.
In the gift of the Spirit, [HIS LIFE--THE SOUL OF HIS LIFE] Jesus gave to man
the highest good that heaven could bestow." E.G. White, Review and
Herald, May 19, 1904. Book 5, p. 42. "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost
which is IN YOU, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?" 1 Cor.
6:19. "Know ye
not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in
you." 1 Cor. 3:16. Phl 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which
was also in Christ Jesus: (This text is KEY). Again:
The Lord showed me that these
references to the Spirit of God (the Holy Spirit and the Holy Ghost) are not
examples of "waxing poetic," or "metaphorical." They are
to be taken as they read. —rwb |
