The Loud Cry Repeated—
by Ellen G. White
[Rev. 18:1, 2, 4,
quoted.] This scripture points forward to a time when the announcement of the
fall of Babylon, as made by the second angel of Revelation 14 (verse 8), is to be repeated, with
the additional mention of the corruptions which have been entering the
various organizations that constitute Babylon, since that message was first
given, in the summer of 1844. . . . These announcements, uniting with the
third angel's message, constitute the final warning to be given to the
inhabitants of the earth. . . . {LDE 199.2}
Midnight Cry
Repeated: "My mind was carried to the FUTURE, when the signal WILL BE
GIVEN, 'Behold, the Bridegroom cometh God ye out to meet Him.'" E.G.

Dear Reader, Note:
Ellen White’s article on the Loud Cry appears after a treatise on who gives
that cry. The power which stirred the people so mightily in the 1844
movement will again be revealed. The third angel's message will go forth, not
in whispered tones, but with a loud voice.--5T 252 (1885). {LDE 202.1} I saw that this message will close with power and strength far
exceeding the midnight cry.--EW 278 (1858). {LDE 202.2} "The parable of the wise and foolish virgins comes (present tense) as a solemn
warning to EVERY CHURCH. In the parable, all the ten
virgins went out to meet their Lord. All had lamps, and vessels for oil. For
a time there was seen no difference between them. So with the church that
lives just before Christ's second coming. All have a knowledge of the
Scriptures. All have heard the message of Christ's soon approach, and
confidently expect His appearing. But as in the parable, so it is NOW. A time
of waiting intervenes [the tarrying time], faith is tried and WHEN THE CRY IS HEARD, [FUTURE]
'BEHOLD, THE BRIDEGROOM COMETH GO YE OUT TO MEET HIM,' MANY ARE UNREADY.
They have no oil in their vessels with their lamps. They are destitute of the
Holy Spirit. Working, waiting, watching, and praying, this constitutes
genuine Christianity." E.G. White, Review
and Herald, Vol. 4, pp. 373-4, January 21, 1902. Notice the date, January 21, 1902. This was long after the cry of
1844--and the tarrying time still continues to the next Midnight Cry of
Revelation 18. "The churches that would not receive the light of the first
angel's message, and as they rejected the light from heaven they fell from
the favor of God. They trusted in their own strength, and placed themselves
by their opposition to the first message where they could not see the light
of the second angel's message. But the beloved of God, who were oppressed,
answered to the message, Babylon is fallen, and left the fallen
churches." E.G. White, Spiritual
Gifts, Volume 1, p. 140. "In every part of the land, light was given upon the second
angel's message, and the cry was melting down thousands. It went from city to
city, and from village to village, until the waiting people of God were fully
aroused. Many would not permit this message to enter the churches, and a
large company who had the living testimony within them left the fallen
churches. A mighty work was accomplished by the Midnight Cry." E.G.
White, Spiritual Gifts, Volume 1,
p. 141. Clearly, rejecting any of
the three angel's messages, and/or the Midnight Cry, is to render a church in
a fallen state called Babylon. SDA's have now violated
every one of those messages by Ecumenical Liaison with Babylon, via MEMBERSHIP
in at least eight National Councils of Churches in the world, and MEMBERSHIP
in localized Ministerial Associations. A PhD. official at the
Canadian Council of Churches told me personally over the phone that local
Ministerial Associations are a local subsidiary of the World and National
Councils of Churches. Ellen White said that we are not to be linked in any
way with the fallen churches. "Babylon of Revelation 18 [Revelation 18:1-8 quoted].--The
whole chapter shows that Babylon that has fallen is the churches (plural) who
will not receive the messages of warning the Lord has given in the first,
second, and third angel's messages. They refused the truth and accepted a
lie. They refused the messages of truth. See 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12." E.G. White Manuscript Releases Volume One,

141. Who is the bride that gives
the Loud Cry call to all ten virgins including professing Seventh-day
Adventists: The Remnant as the last generation of men "The woman is a symbol of the church, and the remnant
of the church represents the Christians of the last generation of men, living
just prior to the second advent. The dragon makes war on these for keeping
the commandments of God, Sabbath and all, and having the testimony of Jesus
Christ, which, according to the inspired definition of chap. xix, 10, 'is the
spirit of prophecy.' Here, then, are the causes of the dragon's warfare upon
the remnant. They teach the observance of the ten commandments, and the
revival of the gifts, and acknowledge the gift of prophecy among them. When
the Devil got one foot upon the fourth commandment, and the other upon the
gifts planted in the Christian church by Jesus Christ, then his satanic
majesty was filled with revengeful delight. But when the remnant, whom God
designs to fit for translation to Heaven without seeing death, 'ask for the
old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein,' then the dragon is
wroth, and makes war on them. "The true spirit of the dragonic host, which is already
being somewhat developed, is vividly described in Isa. xxx, 8-13, as being
manifested just prior to the sudden destruction of those who hate the pure
testimony, and love smooth and deceitful things." E. G. White, Spiritual Gifts, Vol. III, 26, 27. "The marriage represents the reception by Christ of His
kingdom. The Holy City, the New Jerusalem, which is the capital and
representative of the kingdom, is called 'the bride, the Lamb's wife.' Said
the angel to John: 'Come hither, I will show thee the bride, the Lamb's
wife.' 'He carried me away in the spirit,' says the prophet, 'and showed me
the great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God.'
Revelation 21:9, 10. Clearly, then, the bride represents the Holy City, and
the virgins that go out to meet the bridegroom are a symbol of the church
[militant]. In the Revelation the people of God are said to be the guests at
the marriage supper. Revelation 19:9. If guests, they cannot be represented
also as the bride...He will receive the New Jerusalem, the capital of His
kingdom, 'prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.'" E. G. White, The Great Controversy, 426, 427. Let us analyze the above statement very closely: The Holy City, the New Jerusalem, which is the CAPITAL and
REPRESENTATIVE of the kingdom, is the bride, the Lamb's wife. The bride
REPRESENTS [is earthly ambassadors of] the Holy City. The virgins that go out to meet the bridegroom are a symbol of
the church they are the "people of God" they are guests at the
marriage supper, and if guests, they cannot also be represented as the bride!
They cannot be both! Christ receives the NEW JERUSALEM, the CAPITAL and REPRESENTATIVE
[ambassadors] of His kingdom, as a bride adorned for her husband. Therefore, the bride, NEW JERSUSALEM, the representatives or
earthly ambassadors, the true messengers of the heavenly NEW JERUSALEM
CHURCH, the earthly REPRESENTATIVES of the heavenly church called
ZION, Hebrews 12: 22, 23, the church triumphant, consisting of men made
perfect [verse 23] is the bride of Jesus Christ. "Him that overcometh will I make a pillar IN THE TEMPLE of
my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my
God, and the name of the city of my God, which is NEW JERUSALEM, which cometh
down out of heaven from my God and I will write upon him my NEW NAME ."
Rev. 3:12. Will Scripture support Ellen White's view of the matter? Lets
explore: Isaiah 62 tells us who Jesus marries: "For ZION'S SAKE will
I not hold my peace, and for [New] Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until
THE RIGHTEOUSNESS THEREOF go forth as brightness, and the SALVATION THEREOF
as a lamp that burneth. And the Gentiles shall see THY [ZION'S] RIGHTEOUSNESS, and all
kings thy GLORY: and thou shalt be called by A NEW NAME, which the mouth of
the Lord shall name. Thou Zion in context] shalt also be a crown of glory in the hand
of the Lord, and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God. Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken neither
shall thy land any more be termed Desolate [because it is Zion that
appears to fall]: but thou shalt be called Hephzibah, and thy land Beulah: for the
Lord delighteth in thee, and
thy land shall be married. For as a young man marrieth a virgin [bethulah in Hebrew], so
shall thy sons marry thee: and
as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over
thee. I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold
their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the Lord, keep not
silence. And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make [NEW]
Jerusalem a praise in the earth. . . . Go through, go through the gates prepare ye the way of the people
cast up, cast up the highway gather out the stones [of stumbling--the errors
the stumbling blocks] lift up a standard [God's Holy Law] for the people [the
guests--the body of the church]. Behold, the Lord hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say
ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh behold, his reward
is with him, and his work before him. And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the
Lord: and thou shalt be called, Sought out, A city [church kingdom] not
forsaken." Isaiah 62:1-7 10-12. What you have just read is a Biblical description of Zion, the
Bride of Jesus Christ. She has sons, verse 5, and she has daughters, verse
11. She is the holy mother: "The people of God, symbolized by
a holy woman and her children, were represented as greatly in the minority.
In the last days only a remnant still existed. Of these John speaks as they
'which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ."
E. G. White, Signs of the Times,
Nov. 1, 1899, and Seventh-day Adventist
Bible Commentary, vol. 7, p. 972. Zion is the church triumphant which has always existed to come to
the aid of any valid church militant in any and every age: "The members of the church triumphant--the church in heaven [Heb.
12:22, 23]--will be permitted to draw near to the members of the church
militant, to aid them in their necessity." E. G. White, The Southern Watchman, Sep. 8, 1903. "The church is God's fortress, his city of refuge, which he
holds in a revolted world. Any betrayal of her sacred trust is treachery to
him who has bought her with the precious blood of his only begotten Son. In
the past, faithful souls have
constituted the church on earth, and God has taken them into covenant
relation with himself, uniting the
church on earth with the church in heaven. He has sent forth his holy
angels to minister to his church, and the gates of hell have not been able to
prevail against it." E. G. White, Review and Herald, 12-04-1900. The Church in Heaven is the Church Triumphant of Men Made Perfect "But ye are come unto mount Sion [Zion], and unto the city
of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of
angels, To the general assembly and CHURCH OF THE FIRSTBORN, which are
written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just
men MADE PERFECT." Hebrews 12:22, 23. Further Distinctions Between the Bride and the Ten Virgin
Guests--The Ten-Virgins are Awakened by the Voice of the Bride "Lingering near [not at] the bride's house are ten young
women robed in white. Each carries a lighted lamp and a small flagon for oil.
All are anxiously watching for the appearance of the bridegroom. But there is
a delay [since 1844]. Hour after hour passes the watchers become weary and
fall asleep. At midnight the cry is heard, 'Behold, the bridegroom cometh go
ye out to meet him.' The sleepers [all ten slept Matt. 25:5], suddenly awaking,
spring to their feet. They see the procession moving on, bright with torches
and glad with music. They hear the voice of the bridegroom and the
voice of the bride. The ten maidens seize their lamps and begin to trim them,
in haste to go forth, But five have neglected to fill their flasks with oil
[character]. They did not anticipate so long a delay, and they have not
prepared for the emergence." E. G. White, Christ's Object Lessons, pp. 405, 406. If the voice of the bride awakens the 10 virgins, then the bride
is a separate entity. She has to be awake before the awakening of the 10 virgins.
This is attested to in Isaiah 62:11, where the mother, Zion, says the same
thing, in similar other words, to her daughter. Only Zion, Philadelphia, New Jerusalem, the Bride, the 144,000,
the Firstfruits [Firstborn] go into the Temple on Mt. Zion. "Him that overcometh will I make a pillar IN THE TEMPLE of
my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my
God, and the name of the city of my God, which is NEW JERUSALEM, which cometh
down out of heaven from my God and I will write upon him my NEW NAME."
Rev. 3:12. Conclusions: Zion consists of the earthly representatives of the heavenly
church of Hebrews 12:22, 23. They are like heavenly messengers who awaken the
10 virgin church militants of guests. Only Zion (Philadelphia) goes
into the Temple on Mt. Zion, as only the priests of the earthly Sanctuary,
went into the Temple: (Rev. 3:12--made a pillar--leaders-in the Temple) and: "And as we were about to enter the holy temple, Jesus raised
His lovely voice and said, 'Only the 144,000 enter this place," and we
shouted, 'Alleluia." E. G. White, Early
Writings, 19. "The leaven of godliness has not entirely lost its power. At
the time when the danger and depression of the church are greatest, the
little company who are standing in the light will be sighing and crying for
the abominations that are done in the land. But MORE ESPECIALLY
will their prayers arise in behalf of the church because ITS MEMBERS
are doing after the manner of the world." Testimonies, vol. 5, 209, 210. Friends, it is the church
triumphant which has been in existence forever to come to the aid of the
church militant if it will receive that aid, that awakens all ten virgins
with the Loud Cry. Matthew 25 says “all those virgins slept. The bride, Zion,
never sleeps, Isaiah 62. "The members of the church triumphant--the church in
heaven--will be permitted to draw near to the members of the church militant,
to aid them in their necessity." E. G. White, The Southern Watchman, Sep. 8, 1903. "Characteristics
of True Reformers.--Here are given the characteristics of
those who shall be reformers, who will bear the banner of the third angel's
message, those who avow themselves God's commandment-keeping people, and who
honor God, and are earnestly engaged, in the sight of all the universe, in
building up the old waste places. Who is it that calls them, The repairers of
the breach, The restorers of paths to dwell in? It is God. Their
names are registered [written--Heb. 12:22, 23] in heaven as reformers,
restorers, as raising the foundations of many generations." E.
G. White, SDA Bible Commentary,
Vol. 4, 1151. The Lord has shown this writer that at the end-time, all formally
organized church denominations [represented as Seven Women--symbolic of all
inclusiveness] will be doing according to the following texts: "And in that day seven women [all formally
organized churches] shall take hold of one man [Christ], saying We will eat our own
bread [our own doctrines and commandments of men], and
wear our own apparel [our own robes of self-righteousness],
only let us be called by thy name [Christians], to take away our reproach. In
that day shall the branch of the Lord [His bride and her sons
and daughters Isa. 62] be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth shall be
excellent and comely for them that are escaped of Israel. And it shall come
to pass, that he that is left in Zion [the heavenly church
triumphant Heb. 12:22, 23], and he that remaineth in
[New] Jerusalem [Rev. 3:12] shall be called holy, even every one that
is written [registered] among the living in [New] Jerusalem: When the Lord
shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have
purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof [from and by the
heavenly Zion and New Jerusalem--the heavenly kingdom from
which and by which the bad (rebels) are shaken Matt. 13:45-50 and Heb. 12:22,
23 and Ezekiel 20:34-38] by the spirit of judgment, and by the
spirit of burning. And the Lord will create upon every dwelling place of
mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the
shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory shall be a
defense. And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the
heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain."
Isaiah 4:1-6. All Bible commentaries agree that Isaiah chapters 2 through 4 are
end-time in context. The bad are shaken out of the heavenly kingdom of Zion [Matt.
13:45-50 and Heb. 12:22, 23] whether or not they have ever been members of
heavenly Zion. They merely have to reject her message to be shaken out. The following article by Ellen White,
explains that the Loud Cry of Revelation 18, occurred in 1844, and will be
repeated. Chap. 14. - The Loud Cry God Has Jewels in All
Churches
God has jewels in all the churches, and it is not for us to make
sweeping denunciation of the professed religious world.--4BC 1184 (1893).
{LDE 197.1}
“The Lord has His
representatives in all the churches. These persons have not had the special
testing truths for these last days presented to them under circumstances that
brought conviction to heart and mind; therefore they have not, by rejecting
light, severed their connection with God.”--6T 70, 71 (1900). {LDE 197.2}
Among the Catholics there are many who are most conscientious
Christians and who walk in all the light that shines upon them, and God will
work in their behalf.--9T 243 (1909). {LDE 197.3}
In the eighteenth chapter of the Revelation the people of God are
called upon to come out of Babylon. According to this scripture, many of
God's people must still be in Babylon. And in what religious bodies are the greater part of the followers of Christ now to
198 be found? Without doubt,
in the various churches professing the Protestant faith.--GC 383 (1911).
{LDE 197.4}
Notwithstanding the spiritual darkness and alienation from God that
exist in the churches which constitute Babylon, the great body of Christ's
true followers are still to be found in their communion.--GC 390 (1911). {LDE
198.1} Babylon's Fall Not Yet
Complete
"She made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her
fornication" (Rev. 14:6-8). How is this done? By
forcing men to accept a spurious sabbath.--8T 94 (1904). {LDE 198.2}
Not yet, however, can it be said that . . . "she made all nations
drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication." She has not yet made
all nations do this. . . . {LDE 198.3}
Not until this condition shall be reached, and the union of the church
with the world shall be fully accomplished throughout Christendom, will the
fall of Babylon be complete. The change is a progressive one, and the perfect
fulfillment of Revelation 14:8 is yet future.--GC 389, 390 (1911). {LDE 198.4}
When do her sins reach unto heaven [Rev. 18:2-5]? When
the law of God is finally made void by legislation.--ST June 12, 1893.
{LDE 198.5} God's Last Warning Message
God has given the messages of Revelation 14 their place in the line of
prophecy and their work is not to cease
199 till the close of this earth's
history.--EGW'88 804 (1890). {LDE 198.6}
Revelation 18 points to the time when, as the result of rejecting the
threefold warning of Revelation 14:6-12, the church will have fully reached
the condition foretold by the second angel, and the people of God still in
Babylon will be called upon to separate from her communion. This message is
the last that will ever be given to the world.--GC 390 (1911). {LDE 199.1}
[Rev. 18:1, 2, 4, quoted.] This scripture points forward to a time
when the announcement of the fall of Babylon, as made by the second angel of
Revelation 14 (verse 8), is to be repeated, with the additional mention of
the corruptions which have been entering the various organizations that
constitute Babylon, since that message was first given, in the summer of
1844. . . . These announcements, uniting with the third angel's message,
constitute the final warning to be given to the inhabitants of the earth. . .
. {LDE 199.2}
The sins of Babylon will be laid open. The fearful results of
enforcing the observances of the church by civil authority, the inroads of
spiritualism, the stealthy but rapid progress of the papal power--all will be
unmasked. By these solemn warnings the people will be stirred. Thousands upon
thousands will listen who have never heard words like these.--GC 603, 604,
606 (1911). {LDE 199.3} The Heart of God's Last Message
Several have written to me, inquiring if the message of justification by
faith is the third angel's message,
The Lord in His great mercy sent a most precious message to His people
through Elders [E.J.] Waggoner and [A. T.] Jones.
This message was to bring more prominently before the world the uplifted
Saviour, the sacrifice for the sins of the whole world. It presented justification through
faith in the Surety; it invited the people to receive the righteousness of
Christ, which is made manifest in obedience to all the commandments of God. {LDE 200.1}
Many had lost sight of Jesus. They needed to have their eyes directed
to His divine person, His merits, and His changeless love for the human
family. All power is given into His hands, that He may dispense rich gifts
unto men, imparting the priceless gift of His own righteousness to the
helpless human agent. This is the message that God commanded to be given to
the world. It is the third angel's message, which is to be proclaimed with a
loud voice, and attended with the outpouring of His Spirit in a large
measure.--TM 91, 92 (1895). {LDE 200.2}
The message of Christ's righteousness is to sound from one end of the
earth to the other to prepare the way of the Lord. This is the glory of God,
which closes the work of the third angel.--6T 19 (1900). {LDE 200.3}
The last message
of mercy to be given to the world is a revelation of His character of love. The children of God are to manifest His
glory. In their own life and
201 character they are to reveal what the grace of God [The Holy Spirit] has done for them.--COL 415, 416 (1900).
{LDE 200.4} The Message Will Go With
Great Power
As the third message swells to a loud cry and as great power and glory
attend the closing work, the faithful people of God will partake of that
glory. It is the latter rain which revives and strengthens them to pass
through the time of trouble.--7BC 984 (1862). {LDE 201.1}
As the end approaches, the testimonies of God's servants will become
more decided and more powerful.--3SM 407 (1892). {LDE 201.2}
This message [Rev. 14:9-12] embraces the two preceding messages. It is
represented as being given with a loud voice; that is, with the power of the
Holy Spirit.--7BC 980 (1900). {LDE 201.3}
As the third angel's message swells into a loud cry, great power and
glory will attend its proclamation. The faces of God's people will shine with
the light of heaven.--7T 17 (1902). {LDE 201.4}
Amidst the deepening shadows of earth's last great crisis, God's light
will shine brightest, and the song of hope and trust will be heard in
clearest and loftiest strains.--Ed 166 (1903). {LDE 201.5}
As foretold in the eighteenth of Revelation, the third angel's message
is to be proclaimed with great
202 power by those who give the final warning
against the beast and his image.--8T 118 (1904). {LDE 201.6} Like the 1844
Movement
The power which stirred the people so mightily in the 1844 movement
will again be revealed. The third angel's message will go forth, not in whispered
tones, but with a loud voice.--5T 252 (1885). {LDE 202.1}
I saw that this message will close with power and strength far
exceeding the midnight cry.--EW 278 (1858). {LDE 202.2} Like the Day of
Pentecost
It is with an earnest longing that I look forward to the time when the events of the Day of
Pentecost shall be repeated with even greater power than on that occasion. John says, "I saw another angel come
down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his
glory" [Rev. 18:1]. Then,
as at the Pentecostal season, the people will hear the truth spoken to them,
every man in his own tongue.--6BC
1055 (1886). {LDE 202.3}
In visions of the night, representations passed before me of a great reformatory movement [by the
True Reformers] among God's people. Many were praising God. The sick were healed, and other miracles
were wrought. A spirit of intercession was seen, even as was manifested
before the great Day of Pentecost.--9T 126 (1909). {LDE 202.4}
The great work of the gospel is not to close with less manifestation
of the power of God than marked its opening. The prophecies which were
fulfilled in the outpouring of the former rain at the opening of the gospel, are again to be fulfilled in the latter rain at
its close. . . . {LDE 203.1}
Servants of God, with their faces lighted up and shining with holy
consecration, will hasten from place to place to proclaim the message from
heaven. By thousands of voices, all over the earth, the warning will be given.
Miracles will be wrought, the sick will be healed, and signs and wonders will
follow the believers.--GC 611, 612 (1911). {LDE 203.2} God Will Employ Agencies That Will
Surprise Us
Let me tell you
that the Lord will work in this last work in a manner very much out of the
common order of things, and in a way that will be contrary to any human
planning. There will be
those among us who will always want to control the work of God, to dictate even
what movements shall be made when the work goes forward under the direction
of the angel who joins the third angel in the message to be given to the
world. God will use ways and means by which it will be seen that He is taking
the reins in His own hands. The workers will be surprised by the simple means
that He will use to bring about and perfect His work of righteousness.--TM
300 (1885). {LDE 203.3}
Do not imagine that it will be possible to lay out plans for the
future. Let God be acknowledged as
204 standing at the helm at all times and under every
circumstance. He will work by means that will be suitable, and will maintain,
increase, and build up His own people.--CW 71 (1895). {LDE 203.4}
The Comforter is to reveal Himself, not in any specified, precise way
that man may mark out, but in the order of God--in unexpected times and ways
that will honor His own name.--EGW'88 1478 (1896). {LDE 204.1}
He will raise up from among the common people
men and women to do His work, even as of old He called fishermen to be His
disciples. There will soon
be an awakening that will surprise many. Those who do not realize the
necessity of what is to be done will be passed by, and the heavenly messengers will work
with those who are called the common people, fitting them to carry the truth
to many places.--15MR 312
(1905). {LDE 204.2} Laborers Qualified by the Holy Spirit
In the last solemn work few great men will be engaged. . . . God will
work a work in our day that but few anticipate. He will raise
up and exalt among us those who are taught rather by the unction of His
Spirit than by the outward training of scientific institutions. These facilities
are not to be despised or condemned; they are ordained of God, but they can
furnish only the exterior qualifications. God will manifest that He is not
dependent on learned, self-important mortals.--5T 80, 82 (1882). {LDE 204.3}
To souls that are earnestly seeking for light and that accept with
gladness every ray of divine illumination from His holy Word, to such alone
light will be given. It is through these souls that God will reveal that
light and power which will lighten the whole earth with His glory.--5T 729
(1889). {LDE 205.1}
It is discipline of spirit, cleanness of heart and thought that is
needed. This is of more value than brilliant talent, tact, or knowledge. An
ordinary mind, trained to obey a "Thus saith the Lord," is better
qualified for God's work than are those who have capabilities but do not
employ them rightly.--RH Nov. 27, 1900. {LDE 205.2}
The laborers will be qualified rather by the unction of His Spirit
than by the training of literary institutions. Men of faith and prayer will
be constrained to go forth with holy zeal, declaring the words which God
gives them.--GC 606 (1911). {LDE 205.3} God Uses Even the
Illiterate
Those who receive Christ as a personal Saviour will stand the test and
trial of these last days. Strengthened by unquestioning faith in Christ, even
the illiterate disciple will be able to withstand the doubts and questions
that infidelity can produce, and put to blush the sophistries of scorners.
{LDE 205.4} The Lord Jesus will give the disciples a
tongue and wisdom that their adversaries can neither gainsay nor resist.
Those who could not, by reasoning, overcome
206 satanic delusions will bear an affirmative
testimony that will baffle supposedly learned men. Words will come from the
lips of the unlearned with such convincing power and wisdom that conversions
will be made to the truth. Thousands will be converted under their testimony.
{LDE 205.5}
Why should the illiterate man have this power, which the learned man
has not? The illiterate one, through faith in Christ, has come into the
atmosphere of pure, clear truth, while the learned man has turned away from
the truth. The poor man is Christ's witness. He cannot appeal to histories or
to so-called high science, but he gathers from the Word of God powerful
evidence. The truth that he speaks under the inspiration of the Spirit is so
pure and remarkable and carries with it a power so indisputable that his
testimony cannot be gainsaid.--8MR 187, 188 (1905). {LDE 206.1} Children Proclaim the
Message
Many, even among the uneducated, now proclaim the words of the Lord. Children
are impelled by the Spirit to go forth and declare the message from heaven.
The Spirit is poured out upon all who will yield to its promptings and,
casting off all man's machinery, his binding rules and cautious methods, they
will declare the truth with the might of the Spirit's power.--Ev 700 (1895).
{LDE 206.2}
When the heavenly intelligences see that men will no longer present
the truth in simplicity as did Jesus, the very children will be moved upon by
the Spirit of 207 God and will go forth proclaiming the
truth for this time.--SW 66 (1895). {LDE 206.3} The Ministry of Angels
The angels of heaven are moving upon human minds to arouse
investigation in the themes of the Bible. A far greater work will be done
than has yet been done and none of the glory of it will flow to men, for
angels that minister to those who shall be heirs of salvation are working
night and day.--CW 140 (1875). {LDE 207.1}
There are many men in our world who are like Cornelius. . . . As God
worked for Cornelius, so He works for these true standard-bearers. . . . They will obtain a
knowledge of God as Cornelius did through the visitation of angels from
heaven.--Letter 197, 1904.
{LDE 207.2}
When divine power is combined with human effort, the work will spread
like fire in the stubble. God will employ agencies whose origin man will be
unable to discern. Angels will do a work which men might have had the
blessing of accomplishing had they not neglected to answer the claims of
God.--1SM 118 (1885). {LDE 207.3} World-wide Extent of the Proclamation
The angel who unites in the proclamation of the third angel's message
is to lighten the whole earth with his glory. A work of world-wide extent and
unwonted power is here foretold. . . . Servants of God,
208 with their faces lighted up and shining with holy
consecration, will hasten from place to place to proclaim the message from
heaven. By thousands of voices, all over the earth, the warning will be
given.--GC 611, 612 (1911). {LDE 207.4}
The message of the angel following the third is now to be given to all
parts of the world. It is to be the harvest message, and the whole earth will
be lighted with the glory of God.--Letter 86, 1900. {LDE 208.1}
When the storm of persecution really breaks upon us, . . . then will
the message of the third angel swell to a loud cry, and the whole earth will
be lightened with the glory of the Lord.--6T 401 (1900). {LDE 208.2}
In every city in America the truth is to be proclaimed. In every
country of the world the warning message is to be given.--GCB March 30, 1903.
{LDE 208.3}
During the loud cry the church, aided by the
providential interpositions of her exalted Lord, will diffuse the knowledge
of salvation so abundantly that light will be communicated to every city and
town.--Ev 694 (1904). {LDE 208.4}
A crisis is right upon us. We must now by the Holy Spirit's power
proclaim the great truths for these last days. It will not be long before
everyone will have heard the warning and made his decision. Then shall the
end come.--6T 24 (1900). {LDE 208.5} Kings, Legislators, Councils, Hear the
Message
It does not seem possible to us now that any should have to stand
alone, but if God has ever spoken by me, the time will come when we shall be
brought before councils and before thousands for His name's sake, and each one will have to give the reason of his
faith. Then will come the severest criticism upon
every position that has been taken for the truth. We need, then, to study the
Word of God, that we may know why we believe the doctrines we advocate.--RH
Dec. 18, 1888. {LDE 209.1}
Many will have to stand in the legislative courts; some will have to
stand before kings and before the learned of the earth to answer for their
faith. Those who have only a superficial understanding of truth will not be
able clearly to expound the Scriptures and give definite reasons for their
faith. They will become confused and will not be workmen that need not to be
ashamed. Let no one imagine that he has no need to study because he is not to
preach in the sacred desk. You know not what God may require of you.--FE 217
(1893). {LDE 209.2}
Revivals True and Counterfeit
Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or
figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a
corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. Matt. 7:16, 17. {FLB
326.1}
“Before the final visitation of God's judgments upon the earth, there
will be, among the people of the Lord, such a revival of primitive godliness
as has not been witnessed since apostolic times. The Spirit and power of God
will be poured out upon His children. At
that time many will separate themselves from those churches in which the love
of this world has supplanted love for God and His Word. Many, both of ministers and people, will gladly
accept those great truths which God has caused to be proclaimed at this time,
to prepare a people for the Lord's second coming. The enemy of souls desires to hinder this work;
and before the time for such a movement shall come, he will endeavor to
prevent it, by introducing a counterfeit. In those churches which he can
bring under his deceptive power, he will make it appear that God's special
blessing is poured out; there will be manifest what is thought to be great
religious interest. . . .” {FLB 326.2} Note: The Celebration Movement is
part of the counterfeit revival before the genuine. Many Adventists Brace Themselves Against the Light
There is to be in the
[Seventh-day Adventist] churches a wonderful manifestation of the power of
God, but it will not move upon those who have not humbled themselves before
the Lord, and opened the door of the heart by confession and repentance. In
the
210 manifestation of that power which lightens the earth
with the glory of God, they
will see only something which in their blindness they think dangerous,
something which will arouse their fears, and they will brace themselves to
resist it. Because the Lord
does not work according to their ideas and expectations they will oppose the
work. "Why," they say, "should we not know the Spirit of God,
when we have been in the work so many years?"--RH Extra, Dec. 23, 1890.
{LDE 209.3}
The third angel's
message will not be comprehended, the light which
will lighten the earth with its glory will be called a false light, by those
who refuse to walk in its advancing glory.--RH May 27, 1890. {LDE 210.1} Most Non-Adventists Will Reject the Warning
Many who hear the message--by far the greatest number--will not credit
the solemn warning. Many will be found disloyal to the commandments of God,
which are a test of character. The Lord's servants will be called
enthusiasts. Ministers will warn the people not to listen to them. Noah
received the same treatment while the Spirit of God was urging him to give
the message, whether men would hear or whether they would forbear.--TM 233
(1895). {LDE 210.2}
Some will listen to these warnings, but by the vast majority they will
be disregarded.--HP 343 (1897). {LDE 210.3}
The popular ministry, like the Pharisees of old, filled with anger as their
authority is questioned, will
211 denounce the message as of Satan, and stir up the
sin-loving multitudes to revile and persecute those who proclaim it.--GC 607 (1911).
{LDE 210.4} Multitudes Will Answer the Call
Souls that were scattered all through the religious bodies answered to
the call, and the precious were hurried out of the doomed churches, as Lot
was hurried out of Sodom before her destruction.--EW 279 (1858). {LDE 211.1}
There will be an army of steadfast believers who will stand as firm as
a rock through the last test.--3SM 390 (1888). {LDE 211.2}
There are many souls to come out of the ranks of the world, out of the
churches--even the Catholic Church--whose zeal will far exceed that of those
who have stood in rank and file to proclaim the truth heretofore.--3SM 386,
387 (1889). {LDE 211.3}
Multitudes will receive the faith and join the armies of the Lord.--Ev
700 (1895). {LDE 211.4}
Many who have strayed from the fold will come back to follow the great
Shepherd.--6T 401 (1900). {LDE 211.5}
In heathen Africa, in the Catholic lands of Europe and of South
America, in China, in India, in the islands of the sea, and in all the dark
corners of the earth, God has in reserve a firmament of chosen ones that will
yet shine forth amidst the darkness, revealing
212 clearly to an apostate world the transforming
power of obedience to His law. Even now they are appearing in every nation,
among every tongue and people; and in the hour of deepest apostasy, when
Satan's supreme effort is made to cause "all, both small and great, rich
and poor, free and bond," to receive, under penalty of death, the sign
of allegiance to a false rest day, these faithful ones, "blameless and
harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke," will "shine as lights
in the world."--PK 188, 189 (c. 1914). {LDE 211.6} Thousands Converted in a Day
Thousands in the eleventh hour will see and acknowledge the truth. . .
. These conversions to truth will be made with a rapidity that will surprise
the church, and God's name alone will be glorified.--2SM 16 (1890). {LDE
212.1}
There will be thousands converted to the truth in a day who at the
eleventh hour see and acknowledge the truth and the movements of the Spirit
of God.--EGW'88 755 (1890). {LDE 212.2}
The time is coming when there will be as many converted in a day as
there were on the Day of Pentecost, after the disciples had received the Holy
Spirit.--Ev 692 (1905). {LDE 212.3} The Honest-in-Heart Will Not Hesitate Long
A good many do not see it now, to take their position, but these
things are influencing their lives, and when the message goes with a loud
voice they will
213 be ready for it. They will not hesitate
long; they will come out and take their position.--Ev 300, 301 (1890). {LDE
212.4}
Soon the last test is to come to all inhabitants of the earth. At that
time prompt decisions will be made. Those who have been convicted under the
presentation of the Word will range themselves under the bloodstained banner
of Prince Emmanuel.--9T 149 (1909). {LDE 213.1}
Every truly honest soul will come to the light of truth.--GC 522
(1911). {LDE 213.2}
The message will be carried not so much by argument as by the deep
conviction of the Spirit of God. The arguments have been presented. The seed
has been sown, and now it will spring up and bear fruit. The publications
distributed by missionary workers have exerted their influence, yet many
whose minds were impressed have been prevented from fully comprehending the
truth or from yielding obedience. Now the rays of light penetrate everywhere,
the truth is seen in its clearness, and the honest children of God sever the
bands which have held them. Family connections, church relations, are
powerless to stay them now. Truth is more precious than all besides.
Notwithstanding the agencies combined against the truth, a large number take
their stand upon the Lord's side.--GC 612 (1911). {LDE 213.3} Influence of the Printed
Page
More than one thousand will soon be converted in one day, most of whom
will trace their first convictions
214 to the reading of our publications.--Ev 693
(1885). {LDE 213.4}
The results of the circulation of this book [The Great Controversy]
are not to be judged by what now appears. By reading it some souls will be
aroused and will have courage to unite themselves at once with those who keep
the commandments of God. But a much larger number who read it will not take
their position until they see the very events taking place that are foretold
in it. The fulfillment of some of the predictions will inspire faith that others
also will come to pass, and when the earth is lightened with the glory of the
Lord in the closing work, many souls will take their position on the
commandments of God as the result of this agency.--CM 128, 129 (1890). {LDE
214.1}
In a large degree through our publishing houses is to be accomplished
the work of that other angel who comes down from heaven with great power and
who lightens the earth with his glory [Rev. 18:1].--7T 140 (1902). {LDE 214.2} End of article by Ellen White What follows is my correspondence with a
man who believed and was teaching that the Loud Cry was already being given
since 1888. ----- Original Message ----- From: Ron Beaulieu To: Rich
& Joyce Sent: Monday, May 11, 2009 11:48 AM Subject: Re: LOUD CRY........ Br. Rich, It takes a man
and a sincere Christian to admit to being wrong. Consider your confession as
made to God, not me. That is the important step. He and His truth is what
matters! But I must be frank and tell you straight that your admission is not
fair for it is only half true. And remember, this is no mere argument between
two men. This is God's truth at stake and those who will be influenced by the
pure truth or half truth. The Loud Cry does not swell into it’s loudest sounding until the Sunday Law is ENFORCED. The Midnight
Loud Cry is made by the
voice of the bride of Christ and the voice of God, COL 405-6. Read those pages very
carefully. The bride, Zion (Isaiah 62:1-4), the 144,000, must be ready
and formed before she awakens ALL TEN VIRGINS, because Matthew 25 says
ALL THOSE VIRGINS SLUMBERED AND SLEPT. It is the 144,000 that give the Loud
Cry. Who calls them? "Characteristics of True Reformers.--Here are given the
characteristics of those who shall be reformers, who will bear the banner of
the third angel's message, those who avow themselves God's commandment-keeping
people, and who honor God, and are earnestly engaged, in the sight of all the
universe, in building up the old waste places. Who is it that calls them, The repairers of the
breach, The restorers of paths to dwell in? It is God. Their names are registered [written--Heb. 12:22,
23] in heaven as reformers, restorers, as raising the foundations of many
generations." E. G. White, SDA Bible Commentary, Vol. 4, 1151. The bride is Zion. Zion
is Philadelphia, blameless, no guile. Only she enters the Temple on Mt. Zion,
EW, 19. The ten virgins are guests at the wedding
and the guests cannot be the bride, GC, 427, and the bride cannot be the
guests. Midnight Cry Repeated:
"My mind was carried to the FUTURE, when the signal WILL BE GIVEN,
'Behold, the Bridegroom cometh Go ye out to meet Him.'" E.G. White, Review
and Herald, Vol. 3, p. 331, Feb. 11, 1896. Notice the date, Feb. 11,
1896. The words of
the Midnight Cry "Go ye out to meet Him," are given at the same
time 5T 81 occurs. That is when the Sunday Law is
enforced and the gold is separarated from the dross
in ALL CHURCHES, not just from the SDA apostate church. Said reference says: ·
"The
time is not far distant when the TEST will come to EVERY SOUL." ·
"The
Mark of the Beast will be urged upon us. ·
In
THIS TIME the gold will be separated from the dross in the church (CLEARLY
ALL CHURCHES IN CONTEXT). The above words
define the time at which the latter rain of the three angel's messages
and THE MIDNIGHT CRY swell into the LOUD CRY--"Behold the bridegroom
cometh [IT IS TIME FOR JESUS TO ACTUALLY COME] go ye out to meet Him, or go
out of ALL FALLEN CHURCHES AND THE WORLD, to meet Him. The SWELLING EFFECT is
caused by the proof we have that we have that Adventists have been right for
over 150 years about the ENFORCEMENT of a Sunday Law with a penalty of
threatened imprisonment AND DEATH. Notice the words DEATH. There is a death
decree at which time there will be many martyrs, and Ellen White says that
there will be no martyrs after probation closes. So the many martyrs occur
after a short warning period to take the Mark or else! The final death decree
will not result in any deaths, for the 144,000 are delivered from their
enemies. "I saw that God had honest
children among the nominal Adventists, and the fallen churches, and ministers and people will yet be called out
from these churches, before the plagues shall be poured out, and they will
gladly embrace the truth. Satan knows
this, and before the loud cry of the third angel, raises an
excitement in these religious bodies, that those who have
rejected the truth may think God is with them. He hopes to deceive the
honest, and lead them to think that God is still working for the churches.
But the light will shine, and every one of the honest ones will leave the
fallen churches, and take their stand with the remnant." GC 1858 p. 172. Br. Rich, I believe the
false excitement or false reformation is the Celebration movement. I believe
the latter rain swells into the Loud Cry after the Sunday Law is ENFORCED. It
is then that the LOUD CRY of the Third Angel's message shall warn men against
the worship of the beast and His image. It is then that the line will
be clearly drawn between the false and the true. "God is raising up a
class to give the loud cry of the third angel's message. . . . It is Satan's
object now to get up new theories to divert the mind from the true work and
genuine message for this time. He stirs up minds to give false interpretation
of Scripture, a spurious
loud cry, that the real message may not have its effect when it does come. This is one of the
greatest evidences that the loud
cry will soon be heard and the earth will be lightened with the glory of God."--Letter
20, 1884. {3SM 410.1} "There are true
Christians in every church, not excepting the Roman Catholic communion. None
are condemned until they have had the light and have seen the obligation of
the fourth commandment. But when the decree shall go forth ENFORCING THE
COUNTERFEIT SABBATH, and the
LOUD CRY OF 'THE THIRD ANGEL' SHALL WARN MEN AGAINST THE WORSHIP OF THE BEAST
AND HIS IMAGE, the line will be clearly drawn between the false
and the true. Then those who still continue in transgression will receive the
mark of the beast." E.G. White, The Signs of the Times, 11-08-99, The
Seal of God, pr. 2. The
message of Christ's righteousness is to sound from one end of the earth to
the other to prepare the way of the Lord. This is the glory of God, which
closes the work of the third angel.--6T 19 (1900).

first proclaimed by the servants of God in the summer of 1844. As a result,
many left the fallen churches. In connection with this message the
"midnight cry" [SEE MATT. 25:1-13.] was given: "Behold, the
Bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet Him." In every part of the land
light was given concerning this message, and the cry aroused thousands. It
went from city to city, from village to village, and into the remote country
regions. It reached the learned and talented, as well as the obscure and
humble. {LS 59.1} Fallen Babylon Midnight
