My
Vision on The Time When the Wound is Healed
And
Michael Stands Up
Dan 12:9 And he said, Go thy way,
Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the
end.
“Let us read and study the twelfth chapter of Daniel. It is a warning that we shall
all need to understand before the time of the end.” Manuscript
Releases, vol. 15, p. 228 (1903); Last
Day Events, p. 15.
“The prophetic periods of Daniel, extending to the very eve of the great
consummation, throw a flood of light upon events then to transpire.” Review
and Herald, 9/25/1883.
"In the Revelation all the books of the Bible meet and end. Here is
the complement of the book of Daniel. One is a prophecy; the other a
revelation. The book that was sealed is not the Revelation,
but that portion of the prophecy of Daniel relating to the last days. The angel commanded, “But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the
book, even to the time of the end.” Daniel 12:4.
In a night vision of December 17, 2016, the Lord laid upon me the
responsibility of explaining the truth on the issue of time. I was shown that
there is a definite difference between prophetic time (day for a year time),
and certain passages of Scripture that designate literal time. After the
disappointment in 1844, some Adventists continued projecting future dates for
the fulfillment of the 2300 days. It was this continuum of error that Ellen
White wrote against when she stated that the Lord has shown her that there was
to be TIME NO LONGER in reference to any day for a year time prophesies. The
2300 day prophecy was the last reference to prophetic (day for a year) time in
the Bible. That time was a test to pioneer Adventists in 1844, because it
tested their faith when their conclusions regarding that time line failed.
However, there are clear references to
literal time in Scripture which should not be confused with day for a year
prophetic time. Some Adventists, like Vance Ferrell, have erroneously concluded
that ALL PROPHECY IS PROPHETIC OR DAY FOR A YEAR TIME. I was shown that
conclusion is not tenable and does away with important time related issues God
would have us to understand at the end-time, so we know what to do and when to
do it.
Prophetic Time Versus Literal Time in Scripture
We should fully embrace the historic
fulfillments of the time periods of prophetic time taught by Seventh-day
Adventist pioneers. But is that all there is to the prophetic periods of
Daniel?
“The prophetic periods of Daniel, extending to the very eve of the great
consummation, throw a flood of light upon events
then to transpire.”
Review and Herald, 9/25/1883.
What?! Notice the date of the above statement: 1883. Future to that time
Ellen White said that the prophetic periods of Daniel include the days
mentioned in Daniel 12. They extend to the very eve of the great consummation
of all things! They refer to events THEN TO TRANSPIRE. The day for a year
prophetic periods of Daniel don’t extend beyond 1844. Ellen White said they
ended at that time. But you will be surprised at her statements in this
document that speak of literal time prophesies to be fulfilled in the future!
Dan 12:9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the
words are closed up and sealed till the time of the
end.
“Let us read and
study the twelfth chapter of Daniel. It is a warning that we shall all need to
understand before the time of the end.” Manuscript Releases, vol. 15, p. 228
(1903); Last Day Events, p. 15.
The main thing about
Daniel 12 that was not understood in Ellen White’s day is the time periods. She
knew when Michael would stand up—when the Sabbath was contended! And all that
is left is the time periods.
“A message will soon be given by God’s
appointment that will swell into the loud cry. Then Daniel will stand
in his lot to give his testimony.” Manuscript Releases, vol. 2 p/ 20 (Letter 54, 1906)
The date of the above statement is 1906. The twelfth
chapter of Daniel WAS NOT understood at that time. When men like Vance Ferrell
scorn the end-time application of the days of Daniel 12, they truly don’t know
what they are talking about.
“The prophetic
periods of Daniel, extending to the very eve of the great consummation, throw a
flood of light upon events then to transpire.”
Review and Herald, 9/25/1883.
"In the
Revelation all the books of the Bible meet and end. Here is the complement of
the book of Daniel. One is a prophecy; the other a revelation. The book that was sealed is not the Revelation, but that portion of the
prophecy of Daniel relating to the last days. The angel commanded,
“But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of
the end.” Daniel 12:4.
In Daniel 12:9 it says that book is
closed up and sealed till the time of the end. Ellen White says that same
thing. So the time lines of that chapter were not understood during the ancient
prophetic day for a year times. They are to be understood in these times of the
end.
Dan 12:9
And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.
“The book that was sealed was not the
book of Revelation, but that portion of the prophecy of Daniel which related to the last days.” Selected Messages, vol. 2,
p. 105.
The End Time
"The boardinghouse is conducted
upon a plan that makes it a good home. This home may not suit the inclinations
of some, but it is because they have been educated to false theories, to
self-indulgence and self-gratification; and all their habits and customs have
been in a wrong channel. But, my dear sister, we are nearing the end of time; and we want now, not
to meet the world’s tastes and practices, but to meet the mind of God, to see
what saith the Scriptures, and then to walk according to the light which God
has given us. Our inclinations, our customs and practices, are not to have the
preference. God’s Word is our standard." {CG 330.2}
"We are living in the time of the end. The fast-fulfilling signs of the times declare that the coming of
Christ is near at hand. The days in which we live are solemn and important. The
Spirit of God is gradually but surely being withdrawn from the earth. Plagues
and judgments are already falling upon the despisers of the grace of God. The
calamities by land and sea, the unsettled state of society, the alarms of war,
are portentous. They forecast approaching events of the greatest
magnitude." {CCh 37.1}
When Michael (Christ) Stands Up
Report of E. G. White Utterances During Vision, November 19, 1848
[J. Bates introduction:] A small company
of brethren and sisters were assembled in meeting in Dorchester, near Boston,
Mass. Before the meeting commenced, some of us were examining some of the
points in the sealing message; some difference of opinion existed about the
correctness of the view of the word ascending, &c., and whereas we had made
the publishing of the message a subject of prayer at the Topsham Conference
(Me.) a little previous, and the way to publish appeared not sufficiently
clear, we therefore resolved unitedly to refer it all to God. After some time spent in earnest prayer for light and
instruction, God gave Sister White the following in vision, viz: {Ms1-1848.8}
“Where did the light break out? Let thine
angels teach us where the light broke out! It commenced from a little, then
Thou didst give one light after another. The testimony and commandments are linked together, they cannot be
separated; that comes first the ten commandments, by God.” {Ms1-1848.9}
“The commandments never would be struck
against if it were not to get rid of the Sabbath commandment. That one that has relaxed it is very foolish. It was
very small, and when it rose, though it rose in strength, it was weak back
there, when it came up it increase, (or increased.) If they won’t hear it they are as accountable as though they did hear
it.” {Ms1-1848.10}
“He was well pleased when His law began
to come up in strength, and the waste places began to be built up.”
{Ms1-1848.11}
“Out of weakness it has become strong
from searching His Word. The test upon it has been but a short time. All who are saved will be tried upon it in some way. That truth arises and is on the increase, stronger,
and stronger. It’s the seal! It’s coming up! It arises, commencing from the rising
of the sun. Like the sun, first cold, grows warmer and sends its rays.”
{Ms1-1848.12}
“When that truth arose there was but
little light in it, but it has been increasing. O the power of these rays.” {Ms1-1848.13}
“It grows in strength, the greatest
weight and light is on that truth for it lasts forever when the Bible is not
needed. It arose there in the east, it began with a small light, but its beams
are healing. O how mighty is that truth; it’s the highest after they enter the
goodly land, but it will increase till they are made immortal. It commenced
from the rising of the sun, keeps on its course like the sun, but it never
sets.” {Ms1-1848.14}
“The angels are holding the four winds.”
{Ms1-1848.15}
“It is God that restrains the powers.”
{Ms1-1848.16}
“The angels have not let go, for the
saints are not all sealed.” {Ms1-1848.17}
“The time of trouble has commenced, it
is begun. The reason why the four winds have not let go, is because the saints
are not all sealed. It’s on the increase, and will increase more and more; the
trouble will never end until the earth is rid of the wicked.” {Ms1-1848.18}
“At that time neighbor will be against
neighbor. That time has not yet come, when brother against brother and sister
against sister; but will come when
Michael stands up.” {Ms1-1848.19}
“When Michael stands up this trouble will be all over the earth.”
{Ms1-1848.20}
“Why they are just ready to blow. There’s a check put on because
the saints are not sealed.” {Ms1-1848.21}
“Yea, publish the things thou hast seen
and heard, and the blessing of God will attend. Look ye! that rising is in
strength, and grows brighter and brighter. That truth is the seal, that’s why
it comes last. The shut door we have had. God has taught and taught, but that
experience is not the seal, and that commandment that has been trodden under foot
will be exalted. And when ye get that you will go through the time of trouble.” {Ms1-1848.22}
Note: By the “Shut Door” Ellen White is referring to the door being shut upon
all who heard and understood the angel’s message in the spring and summer of
1844, yet rejected it then or later. End note.
“Yea, all that thou art looking at, thou
shalt not see just now. Be careful, let not light be set aside which comes from
another way from which thou art looking for.” {Ms1-1848.23}
[Note by J. Bates:] The above was copied
word for word as she spake in vision, therefore it’s unadulterated; some
sentences escaped us, and some which we have not copied here. This probably is
sufficient to show the answer to our prayers. {Ms1-1848.24
Conclusions From the Above Vision by
Ellen G. White
· All who are saved will be tried upon the Sabbath
commandments in some way.
· The Sabbath commandment is the Seal of God.
· The time when Michael stands up is when probation closes and the plagues begin.
· The time when neighbor is against neighbor, brother
against brother and sister against sister is the time when Michael stands up.
· Michael will stand up when the great time of trouble begins and probation closes.
· The Biblical reference to Michael standing up is
Daniel 12. In context with that chapter, we find three time
lines in direct context of Michael standing up—1260 days, 1290 days and 1335
days. Michael stands up after those literal times are fulfilled.
No Definite Time Statement
“I
am compelled to state that I have not had the least faith in Mr. [J. M.]
Garmire or his work. The pamphlet that was issued last fall at the time of our
Jackson camp meeting had not the least sanction of our people. They were sent
broadcast by stealing the Review and Herald list.
The daughter of Mr. Garmire claims, or he claims for
her, to have visions; but they bear not the stamp of God. They are of the same
character as many such things we have met in our experience--a delusion of
Satan. {2SM 73.1}
I plainly stated at the Jackson camp meeting to these
fanatical parties that they were doing the work of the adversary of souls; they
were in darkness. They claimed to have great light that probation would close in October,
1884.
{2SM 73.2}
I there stated in public that the Lord had been
pleased to show me that there would be no definite time in the message given of
God since 1844; and that I knew that this message, which four or five were
engaged in advocating with great zeal, was heresy. The visions of this poor
child were not of God. This light came not from heaven. Time was short; but the
end was not yet. A great work was to be accomplished to prepare a people to be
sealed with the seal of the living God”.--An
Exposure of Fanaticism and Wickedness (Pamphlet), pp. 9, 10 (1885).
{2SM 73.3}
What
did EGW mean to teach by this statement? If she meant that there is no
more messages involving time, she would contradict herself and her own
inspiration! How so? Because she said that the death of Christ was on the exact
time/day and hour of the Passover Feast in GC 399. Then she clearly said
the Fall Feast reflected when the end events would occur. We know exactly
the time of the fall
feast. She also specifically added that the final events must be
fulfilled at the time pointed out in the symbolic service.
The
daughter of Mr. Garmire was obviously prophesying the definite time for Christ
to come since she claimed that probation would close in October, 1884. That is
what Ellen White was protesting in her NO DEFINITE TIME STATEMENT. Even when
all the time prophecies of Daniel 12 are properly understood, they don’t point
to any DEFINITE TIME when Christ will return.
Warned in Regard to Time Setting
“Christ gave to His disciples truths
whose breadth and depth and value they little appreciated, or even
comprehended, and the same condition exists among the people of God today. We
too have failed to take in the greatness, to perceive the beauty of the truth
which God has entrusted to us today. Should we advance in spiritual knowledge,
we would see the truth developing and expanding in lines of which we have little
dreamed, but it will never develop in any line that will lead us to imagine
that we may know the times and the seasons which the Father hath put in His own
power. Again and again have I been warned in regard to time setting. There will
never again be a message for the people of God that will be based on time. We
are not to know the definite time either for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit
or for the coming of Christ.” {1SM 188.1}
“I was searching through my writings,
before coming to this meeting, to see what I should take with me to Australia,
and I found an envelope on which was written, “Testimony given in regard to
time setting, June 21, 1851. Preserve carefully.” I opened it, and this is what
I found. It reads:” {1SM 188.2}
“A copy of a vision the Lord gave Sister
White, June 21, 1851, at Camden, N.Y. The Lord showed me that the message must
go, and that it must not be hung on time;
for time will never be a test again. I saw that some were getting a false excitement, arising from preaching
time, that the third angel’s message can stand on its own foundation, and that
it needs not time to strengthen it, and that it will go with mighty power, and
do its work, and will be cut short in righteousness.” {1SM 188.3}
“I saw some were making everything bend
to this next fall; that is, making their calculations, and disposing of their
property in reference to that time. I saw that this was wrong for this reason:
instead of going to God daily, and earnestly desiring to know their present
duty, they looked ahead, and made their calculations as though they knew that
the work would end this fall, without inquiring their duty of God daily.” {1SM
188.4}
E. G. White. “Copied at Milton, June 29,
1851, A. A. G.” {1SM 189.1}
This was the document I came upon last Monday
in searching over my writings, and here is another which was written in regard
to a man who was setting time in 1884,
and sending broadcast his arguments to prove his theories. The report of what
he was doing was brought to me at the Jackson [Michigan] camp meeting, and I
told the people they need not take heed to this man’s theory; for the event he
predicted would not take place. The times and the
seasons God has put in His own power. And why has not God given us this
knowledge?—Because we would not make a right use of it if He did. A condition of things would result from this knowledge
among our people that would greatly retard the work of God in preparing a
people to stand in the great day that is to come. We are not to live upon time
excitement. We are not to be engrossed with speculations in regard to the times
and the seasons which God has not revealed. Jesus has told His disciples to
“watch,” but not for a definite time. His followers are to be in the position of those who
are listening for the orders of their Captain; they are to watch, wait, pray,
and work, as they approach the time for the coming of the Lord; but no one will be
able to predict just when that time will come; for “of that day and hour
knoweth no man.” You will not be able to say that He will come in one, two, or
five years, neither are you to put off His coming by stating that it may not be
for ten or twenty years. {1SM 189.2}
“Some had taken extreme
views of certain texts of scripture, refraining wholly from labor, and
rejecting all those who would not receive their ideas on this and other points
pertaining to religious duty. God revealed these errors to me in vision, and
sent me to instruct His erring children; but many of them wholly rejected the message,
and charged me with conforming to the world. On the other hand, the nominal
Adventists charged me with fanaticism, and I was falsely represented as the
leader of the fanaticism which I was laboring constantly to arrest.” {1T 72.1}
“Different times were set for the Lord to come, and were urged upon the
brethren. But the Lord showed me that they would pass by, for the time of
trouble must take place before the coming of Christ, and that every time that was set, and passed, would
weaken the faith of God’s people. For this I was charged with being the evil
servant that said: “My Lord delayeth His coming.’” {1T 72.2}
“These statements relative to time setting were printed about thirty
years ago, and the books containing them have been circulated everywhere; yet
some ministers claiming to be well acquainted with me, state that I have set
time after time for the Lord to come, and those times have passed, therefore my
visions are false. No doubt these false statements are received by many as
truth; but none who are acquainted with me or with my labors can in candor make
such report. This is the testimony I have ever borne since the passing of the
time in 1844: “Time after time will be
set by different ones, and will pass by; and the influence of this time setting
will tend to destroy the faith of God’s people.” If I had in vision seen
definite time, and had borne my testimony to it, I could not have written and
published, in the face of this testimony, that all times that should be set
would pass, for the time of trouble must come before the coming of Christ. Certainly for the last
thirty years, that is, since the publication of this statement, I would not be
inclined to set time for Christ to come, and thus place myself under the same
condemnation with those whom I was reproving. And I had no vision until 1845,
which was after the passing of the time of general expectation in 1844. I was
then shown what I have here stated.” 1T 72.3.
“And has not this testimony been
fulfilled in every particular? The
First-day Adventists have set time after time, and notwithstanding the repeated
failures, they have gathered courage to set new times. God has not led them
in this. Many of them have rejected the true prophetic time, and ignored the fulfillment of prophecy, because the
time passed in 1844, and did not bring the expected event. They rejected the
truth, and the enemy has had power to bring strong delusions upon them that
they should believe a lie. The great test on time was in 1843 and 1844; and all
who have set time since then have been deceiving themselves and deceiving
others.” 1T 73.1.
The test of time in 1844, was when Jesus
did not come at the end of the 2300 days as the Adventists had concluded He
would. This failure on their part did not do away with God’s mention of the
2300 days in Scripture. Similarly, God’s mention of the time periods in Daniel
12 and Revelation 13:1-5, do not constitute TIME SETTING.
Other Time Lines in the New Testament
In Revelation 13:1-5, there is a 42
month (3 ½ year) time AFTER THE WOUND IS HEALED—IN CONTEXT. This contextual qualification cannot be ignored without
wreaking great havoc to the empirical context. But thanks be to the Lord Jesus,
you don’t have to take my vision as proof. Take the following from Ellen G.
White:
“In the last days Satan will appear as an angel of light, with great
power and heavenly glory, and claim to be the Lord of the whole earth. He will
declare that the Sabbath has been changed from the seventh to the first day of
the week; and as lord of the first day of the week he will present this
spurious sabbath as a test of loyalty to him. Then will take
place the final fulfillment of the Revelator's prophecy. [Revelation 13:4-18,
quoted.]”
19MR 282.1.
Here are verses 3-5 of Revelation 13:
Rev 13:3 And I saw one of his
heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the
world wondered after the beast.
Rev 13:4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave
power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto
the beast? who is able to make war with him?
Rev 13:5 And there was given unto him a mouth
speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
Why would Ellen White quote verse 5 saying: “Then will take place the
final fulfillment of the Revelator's prophecy. [Revelation 13:4-18, quoted.]” 19MR 282.1, if
those times are not to be fulfilled?
This is why I said in my last vision that Vance Ferrell and Nick Petula
were errant preterists in refusing to admit that the time lines of Daniel 12
and Revelation 13 have a future fulfillment. They obviously are grossly wrong!
Conclusions
The Lord showed me that the time lines
mentioned in Daniel 12 and Revelation 13 have a most definite future fulfillment.
I was also shown that the five month time prophesy of Revelation 9 has a future
fulfillment. I was shown that the reason for the time lines is that we might
know what to do and when to do it. Also, it will be encouraging to the 144,000
to know about how long their great time of trouble will last.
Anyone who chooses to reject this all
too plain evidence as to the future fulfillment of the time prophesies of
Daniel 12 and Revelation 13, are very foolish virgins. And remember, the
context of Daniel 12 is JUST BEFORE MICHAEL STANDS UP, and He has not stood up
yet. We should fully embrace the historic applications, but we better
understand and embrace the future fulfillments of these important chapters of
Holy Writ.

and Jacob,
