Dear Reader, What follows is a testimony to one Bryan Bissell, who is a
professing SDA English professor in Korea. Bryan exhibits the propensity to
rationalize just about every principle taught by Scripture and Ellen White.
Many other individual on the SDA forums he participates on have recognized
his strong propensity to rationalize very serious issues—even eternal life or
death issues. It is not my purpose to publicly expose anyone, but Bryan has
been warned for years, and has now taken to writing to our DefendEGW forum members personally in an effort to
persuade them of his serious rationalized errors. Bryan,
examples of how you rationalize by your own definition of what constitutes
rationalization, are: · The
Bible gives the principle of corporate responsibility in Joshua chapters 6
and 7. You rationalize that fact. · Ellen
White called the church a THEOCRACY. Under any theocracy, corporate
responsibility would certainly accrue. You rationalize that fact. · Ellen
White flat out taught corporate responsibility. You deny and rationalize that
fact. Based
on the above facts, the church is responsible for what it's chosen and appointed
fellow LEADERS do. You rationalize the fact that the church is not
responsible for what Beach did, allegedly on his own cognizance, when the
church bought the medallion and Beach was in their employ as the church's
ecumenical representative for decades! There
is an explicit command in Scripture not to associate, take council and
confederate with God's enemies. Babylon is His enemy. That is why He called a
people out of Babylon to be a separate and peculiar people. Separate and
peculiar from a body of churches that are so much like the world no
difference can be distinguished, EW, 273, and from which we are to remain
separate. We
cannot propose to call folk out of Babylon per the Midnight Cry and the
second angel's message when we are JOINED to it ourselves. This is a fact.
Being joined to a harlot makes any so joined as ONE WITH HER, says Scripture.
You totally rationalize the following verse of Scripture. This
is another example of stark corporate responsibility from scripture:
1Cr 6:16 What? know
ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. You
rationalize Isaiah 8:9-13 into the dust! You render it into near oblivion by
your rationalizations which counter all of the statements to the contrary
which I prove herein regarding the Bible and the Spirit of Prophecy. You
use the example of the WCTU to rationalize being joined to Babylon's
associations, councils and confederacies. The objectives of the two different
organization is totally different--one being honorable and the other totally
contrary to the three angel's messages, the Midnight Cry and thus Isaiah
8:9-13. You will likely continue to rationalize this serious fact to your
final detriment. In
response to all of the above clear facts, you say: Ok, but the church and myself are going to do it anyway! Of
course it is not wrong to dialog with or witness to those in Satan's camp. It
is wrong to make serious concessions in order to JOIN THEIR ASSOCIATIONS,
COUNCILS AND CONFEDERACIES, when such are agencies WE WERE CALLED OUT OF. So
agreement with Babylon’s associations, councils and confederacies that
conflict with giving the three angel’s messages to the entire world as
Scripture directs, and not just the unchurched, is in direct conflict of
interest with God’s commission to the professing Seventh-day Adventist
church. That is unfaithfulness to the work of the Lord and betrayal of sacred
trust in the highest sense if there ever was such! What then? Do we just mope
our heads, saying: “Well God said he will lead the noble ship into port NO
MATTER WHAT IT DOES!” Is that what Ellen White said? Is that what the Word
says? Is that what happened to God’s first “chosen” people, the Jews? Here is
the rest of the story that is to transpire in case of betrayal of sacred
trust and unfaithfulness to the work of the Lord, the three angel’s messages: "The
Lord Jesus will always have a chosen people to serve Him. When the Jewish
people rejected Christ, the Prince of life, He took from them the kingdom of God and gave
it unto the Gentiles. God will continue to work on this principle with
every branch of His work. When a church proves unfaithful to the work of
the Lord, whatever their position may be, however high and sacred their
calling, the Lord can no longer work with them. Others are then chosen to
bear important responsibilities. But, if these in turn do not purify their lives from every wrong
action, if they do not establish pure and holy principles in all their
borders, then the Lord will grievously afflict and humble them and, unless they
repent, will remove them from their place and make them a reproach. God is not
'worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed anything (Acts 17:25)." E.G. White, The Upward Look, 131. 1. It
is near impossible to call folk out of Babylon and thereby fulfill our
commission to the world, when we are joined to it ourselves in violation of
God's Word. 2. It
SHOULD BE self-evident proof that when not one person has been converted to
Adventism by over 50 years of SDA ecumenical involvement by way of
association, council and confederacy membership, that God is not and will not
bless such activities that are strictly forbidden by His Word. Dr. B.B. Beach
has admitted that not ONE CONVERT has been made by such violation of God's
Word. Yet, the VERY FIRST SDA REPRESENTIVE TO THE ECUMENICAL MOVEMENT, Dr.
Earl Hilgert, from Andrews University, was
converted to become a Babylonian preacher, which pursuit he is engaged in
today! 3. The
WCC and its subsidiaries CANNOT be compared to organizations with a good and
worthy objective like the WCTU (Women's Christian Temperance Union), or the
Seventh-day Baptists. There is no comparison when the objectives of these
organizations are compared. Bryan rationalizes the objectives when there is
no basis for so doing! 4. Bryan
rationalizes God's dialogues with Satan, to violate Isaiah 8:9-13, in joining
Babylon's associations, councils and confederacies. "Any
connection with infidels and UNBELIEVERS which would identify us with them is
FORBIDDEN by the word. We are to come out from them and be separate. in no case are we to link ourselves with them in their
plans or work." E. G. White, Fundamentals of Christian Education, 482. There are
statements by Ellen White that establish those not of our faith as being
UNBELIEVERS. Also, being impossible to be distinguished from the world
(below), the fallen churches are thus categorized as no better than the world
and we were to come out of the world. The Bible forbids any endeavor which
would identify us with them! You rationalize this into the dust OR TRY TO
RATHER! "I saw that since the second angel proclaimed the fall of the
churches, they have been growing more and more corrupt. They bear the name of
being Christ's followers yet it is IMPOSSIBLE to distinguish them from
...Satan has taken FULL POSSESSION of the churches as a body." E.G.
White, Early Writings, 273. Here
are Bryan's rationalizes AS HE STATED THEM in the post below. Of course there
is nothing wrong with witnessing to anyone. That is Bryan's straw man tactic
to rationalize more serious issues, like JOINING THE ENEMY in order to
witness to the enemy. Jesus never did that! No SDA pioneer ever did that.
Here are Bryan's words. Cases
I see are these: 1)
God a number of dialogues with Satan both before and after his fall...at
least up to the time of Job and later we see God talking with Job (this was
not witnessing though I know). 2)
Jacob went to visit the king of Egypt...a pagan country and very negatively
portrayed in the Bible almost every time. 3)
Daniel witnessed to Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon...prime enemy of Israel
both nationally and theologically in the Bible. 4)
John the Baptist witnessed to Herod. 5)
Prophets were sent to king's and leading priests
when in the worst corruption. 6)
Elijah went to Ahab..leader of one of the most
corrupt times in Israel 7) Luther
did not refuse to go and witness at the diet of Worms to the highest papal
leader who he referred to as devils sometimes. Note
by Ron: Luther went to the Diet of Worms, but he then was hidden for safety.
End note. Bryan
speaking: EGW speaks of how leaders from Babylon may be won...and then
there's the gospel commission and similar instructions which seems to tell us
to give the good news to every person. In addition there is not one
verse in the entire Bible forbidding us from witnessing to anyone. And
we have cases like the recent one of Anthony Flew...one of the most virulent
atheists and skeptics for like 50 years..who recently changed his opinion about the existence of
God. He was one of the top cardinals or even the pope of atheism for the
longest time..but even he has now realized that the
evidence for the existence of God is just too much to dismiss. He's not
a Christian at present, but says he just can't dismiss the mountain of
evidence anymore. I just do not believe it is for fallible human beings
to decide who has gone beyond the limits of God's mercy? If you do, you
have a right to your opinion..but until you give me
solid quotes or principles from EGW and the Bible that discount all the above
examples, I think that what B. Beach was biblical and right to do and one of
the most tactful and highest chance ways to reach this man who seems to have
some significant desires to do good in him...but also, many extremely serious
errors in his belief and actions. If the murdering Paul an agent of the
high priest that had directly caused Jesus to be crucified could be
transformed...is it impossible for leaders of the Catholic church...trained
and brainwashed like Paul was to be redeemed? I'm not at present
willing to go against the Bible evidence above and say that. Ron
speaking again: Here is what Bryan said is Biblical in regard to Dr. B.B.
Beach giving the Pope a gold medallion: B.B. BEACH’S RESPONSE: Another Catholic newspaper reported
this: The Conference of Secretaries of World Confessional Families was
organized twenty years ago, and its founder was the First Secretary of the
Anglican Advisory Council, Bishop John Howe. The present Secretary of the
Conference and at the same time the First Secretary of the Seventh-day
Adventist Church, Mr. Beach, made a statement at the Vatican Radio emphasizing
the importance of this first meeting of Adventists with the Pope. Word for word, this is what he said: http://www.calltorepent.com/beach-1977
“It
was a great honor for me, as the Secretary of the
Conference, to be present here in Rome, in audience with the Holy Father. On this occasion I presented to the
Pope a book about the world-wide work of the Adventist Church.” Glas
Koncila (Catholic paper in Yugoslavia), June 5,
1977. That was not Biblical! The Bible says to call no man Father or
reverend: Mat 23:9 And call no [man] your father
upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. Psa 111:9 He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend [is] his name. Reverend is our redeemers
name. Also, Bryan has also a number of times held out hope that some popes
of Rome will be saved. Dr. Paul Tulla emailed me to
tell me that B.B. Beach told his class the same thing about some popes! What
sense does that make? They are called the man of Sin by Ellen White. They are
responsible for much of the hate for Christianity because of their course in
history. Why would anyone hold out hope that they will be saved? The
issue is not of witnessing to anyone. That has never been an issue I have
contended against! That is a diversionary straw man tactic which dishonestly
implies that I have EVER done so and I have not! "Any

White, Early Writings, 273. Ellen White, NOT RON BEAULIEU, says when someone has gone beyond
the limits of God's mercy in the following statement which is too clear to
misinterpret. Bryan once again RATIONALIZES and misrepresents, by attributing
these admonitions to me instead of Ellen White, as though I was errant and
not her, IF ANYONE IS ERRANT herein: "While
praying at the family altar, the Holy Ghost fell on me, and I seemed to be
rising higher and higher, far above the dark world. I turned to look for the
Advent people in the world, but could not find them--when a voice said to me,
"Look again, and look a little higher." At this I raised my eyes
and saw a straight and narrow path, [MAT. 7:14.] cast up high above the
world. On this path the Advent people were travelling to the City, which was
at the farther end of the path. They had a bright light set up behind them at
the first end of the path, which an angel told me was the Midnight Cry.
[MAT. 25:6.] This light shone all along the path, and gave light for their
feet so they might not stumble. And if they kept their eyes fixed on Jesus,
who was just before them, leading them to the City, they were safe. But soon
some grew weary, and they said the City was a great way off, and they
expected to have entered it before. Then Jesus would encourage them by
raising his glorious right arm, and from his arm came a glorious light which
waved over the Advent band, and they shouted Hallelujah! Others rashly denied
the light behind them, and said that it was not God that had led them out
so far. The light behind them went out leaving their feet in perfect
darkness, and they stumbled and got their eyes off the mark and lost sight of
Jesus, and fell off the path down in the dark and wicked world below. It was
just as impossible for them to get on the path again and go to the City, as all the wicked world which God had rejected. They fell all
the way along the path one after another, until we heard the voice of God
like many waters, [EZE. 43:2. JOEL 3:16. REV. 16:17.] which
gave us the day and hour of Jesus' coming. [EZE. 12:25. MARK 13:32.] The
living saints, 144,000 in number, knew and understood the voice, while the
wicked thought it was thunder and an earthquake. [JOHN 12:29.] When God spake the time, he poured on us the Holy Ghost, and our
faces began to light up and shine with the glory of God as Moses' did when he
came down from Mount Sinai." [ISA. 10:27.] {WLF 14.2} Word to the Little Flock, p. 14. ·
The
above statement, part of Ellen White’s first vision, is far too serious to
make any attempt at rationalizing it. ·
The Midnight Cry, said Ellen White, gave
power to the second angel's message in calling folk out of Babylon. ·
Some have rashly denied the Midnight Cry
light behind them (from 1844 on) and have begun to believe that it was not
God who led us so far out from Babylon and her associations, councils and
confederacies. So they have rejoined them, and all who know about it are
corporately responsible for this serious violation of strictly forbidden
counsel in Isaiah 8:9-13. ·
Obviously, for those who have
KNOWINGLY, WILLFULLY violated this light, it is IMPOSSIBLE for them to get
back on the path again to heaven. This is clear and needs no interpretation
by anyone. Bryan Bissell and many other professing Seventh-day Adventists
fall into this serious category. Beware! ·
Ellen White also said that there was
definitely a part of the SHUT DOOR teaching that she never relinquished. That
shut door is mentioned in Scripture in the message to Philadelphia,
Revelation 3. She said in reference to that SHUT DOOR, that all who heard and
understood the Midnight Cry and the first and second angel's messages, but
who then and/or later rejected them, received a SHUT DOOR on salvation. This
is another way to commit unpardonable sin, grieving the Holy Spirit, and
making it IMPOSSIBLE to get back on the pathway to heaven. This IS NOT Ron
Beaulieu's fanciful interpretation. This is too clear to be misinterpreted by
ANYONE! Rationalize now and pay later, but the price will be forfeiture of
eternal life. Beach has lied
for decades about the church's ecumenical role. Now they are getting brazen
about it because they have convinced New Movement SDA's that God does not
mean what He says in Isaiah 8:9-13, but that will be one of the prime causes
for another literal Ezekiel 9 fulfillment. Mock all you want Bryan. If you
don't stop it you will be a victim. A person who
held relatively high position in the SDA church a few years ago told me that
"sheep stealing," cannot presently be enforced, but that great peer
pressure is brought to bear against violators by threatening the perks that
come with ecumenical MEMBERSHIP, such as highly discounted rates for TV and
Radio programming due to the powerful influence of the ecumenical movement
and the World Council of Churches. This is a very "motivating"
factor of peer pressure, because Dr. B.B. Beach told me over the phone in the
latter 1980's that the church received
high financial benefits for being a Member of the NCCUSA's Radio and
Television Commission. What he did not admit at the time is that one has
to be a MEMBER of the National Council of Churches in the U.S.A. in order to
partake of this perk! There was a great uproar in the latter 1980's over the
church's MEMBERSHIP in the NCCUSA, so they stopped listing their membership
on that roster. But I'll guarantee you the church is still a MEMBER. Pastor
David Bauer tells the story of a U.S. Admiral was taking Bible studies from
an SDA minister. After seven months of studies, the Admiral was about ready
to take his stand. Then, one Tuesday evening, he was watching a television
documentary by the National Council of Churches of Christ in the U.S.A. At
the end of the documentary, he noticed that SDA's were listed as MEMBERS on
the credits. The next evening the pastor returned for the weekly Bible study
and the Admiral met him at the door saying: "Don't you ever darken this
doorway again! The SDA pastor queried why. The Admiral told the pastor what
he had seen on T.V. the evening before, and said that the SDA church could
not call folk out of Babylon when they were MEMBERS of it themselves. The
Admiral was more astute than the great majority of professing Seventh-day
Adventists in recognizing this reality. Ellen White
said that we are never to confederate with men of the world in order to
receive financial assistance, and she said the fallen churches are not
distinguishable from the world. "We
are never to confederate with men of the world in order to receive financial
assistance." E.G. White, Testimonies,
Vol. 9, p. 233. I gave
Bryan the following quote many times and he said that the fallen churches are
no longer as bad as they used to be when Ellen White penned the following
words. When reading her statement, recall that according to Scripture,
Babylon, the fallen churches, is supposed to be filling up the cup of their
iniquity! According to Bryan Bissell, that is not happening! Babylon is
getting better! "The Sins of Babylon--I saw that since the second angel
proclaimed the fall of the churches, they have been growing more
and more corrupt. They bear the name of being Christ's followers; YET
IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO DISTINGUISH THEM FROM THE WORLD.
Ministers take their texts from the Word of God, but preach smooth
things. To this the natural heart feels no objection. It is only
the spirit and power of the truth and the salvation of Christ that are
hateful to the carnal heart. There is nothing in the popular ministry
that stirs the wrath of Satan, makes the sinner tremble, or applies to the
heart and conscience the fearful realities of a judgment soon to come.
Wicked men are generally pleased with a form of piety without true godliness,
and they will aid and support such a religion. Said the angel, 'Nothing less than the whole armor
of righteousness can enable man to overcome the powers of darkness and retain
the victory over them. Satan has taken full possession of the
churches AS A BODY. The sayings and doings of men are dwelt upon
instead of the plain, cutting truths of the Word of God. The spirit and
friendship of the world are at enmity with God. When the truth in its
simplicity and strength, as it is in Jesus, is brought to bear against the
spirit of the world, it at once awakens the spirit of persecution. Very
many who profess to be Christians have not known God. The natural heart
has not been changed, and the carnal mind remains at enmity with God.
They are Satan's faithful servants, notwithstanding they have assumed another
name.' I saw that since Jesus left the holy place of the heavenly sanctuary
and entered within the second veil, the churches have been filling up with
every unclean and hateful bird [Rev. 18:2]. I saw great iniquity and
vileness in the churches; yet their members profess to be Christians. Their
profession, their prayers, and their exhortations are an abomination in the
sight of God. Said the angel, 'God will not smell in their
assemblies. Selfishness, fraud, and deceit are practiced by them
without the reprovings of conscience. And
over all these evil traits they throw the cloak of religion.' I was
shown the pride of the nominal churches. God is not in their thoughts;
their carnal minds dwell upon themselves; they decorate their poor mortal
bodies, and then look upon themselves with satisfaction and
pleasure. Jesus and the angels look upon them in anger. Said
the angel, 'Their sins and pride have reached unto heaven. Their
portion is prepared. Justice and judgment have slumbered long, but will
soon awake. Vengeance is Mine, I will repay, saith the Lord.' The
fearful threatenings of the third angel are to be
realized, and all the wicked are to drink of the wrath of God. An
innumerable host of evil angels are spreading over the whole land and crowding
the churches. These agents of Satan look upon the
religious bodies with exultation, for the cloak of religion covers the
greatest crime and iniquity." E.G. White, Early Writings,
pp. 273-275. We can’t join
the Associations, Councils and Confederacies of the fallen churches because
they cannot be distinguished from the world and we were called out of the
world and Babylon, the fallen churches! It is so serious to deny that fact in
any way or to rationalize it in any degree! It was soon
after the Naval Admiral incident that SDA's dropped their name from the
MEMBERSHIP ROSTER of the NCCCUSA. But there are hoards of letters in
circulation wherein SDA's have written to various ecumenical Councils of
Churches asking if the SDA church was a MEMBER. Those councils, like the
National Council of Churches of Christ in the U.S.A., said yes, while at the
same time (the seventies and eighties) SDA church officials were saying no!
Later, they got their act together and took SDA's off their roster because
SDA members were making such an uproar. This article
