THE SECOND ANGELS MESSAGE—Does it Apply to God's Professed SDA’s TODAY?

“Let not God's people in any of our institutions sign a truce with the enemy of God and man. The duty of the church to the world is not to come down to their ideas, and accept their opinions, their suggestions, but to heed the words of Christ through his servant Paul, "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? and what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?" This means in, a special sense, marriage with unbelievers, but it covers more ground than this: it means in our instrumentalities ordained of God, in our institutions for health, in our colleges, in our publishing houses. The matter is placed before us in the correct light. The question is asked, "And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing." (2 Cor. 6:16, 17) What does this mean?--The suggestions, the evil workings in the children of disobedience. You are not in any case to become contaminated with the spirit or influence of unbelievers. Be afraid of uniting or binding up in bundles with them. Be afraid of communicating the works connected with the Lord's cause, to those who have no part with God, or sympathy with those who love the truth of God. "And I will receive you, and will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty."” {E.G. White, Special Testimonies for Ministers and Workers, A #6  pg.10 par.1 — Jan. 16, 1896.}  (Quote added by rwb)

THE SECOND ANGELS MESSAGE – Does it apply to God's professed SDA’s TODAY?

Come out of what? Babylon. This is the command of that God who will shortly give the kingdom to his Son, and cannot be disregarded without our being “partakers in her plagues.”

I. What Is Babylon? The term Babylon  signifies...Come Out Of Her My People

Come out of what? Babylon. This is the command that God will shortly give [Loud Cry] the kingdom to his Son, and cannot be disregarded without our being “partakers in her plagues.”

    I. What Is Babylon?

The term Babylon  signifies the same as Babel. i.e. “confusion” or “mixture.

Under the Old Testament dispensation, Babylon was the principal power that oppressed the people of God. Hence, the term is employed in the New Testament, symbolically, to denote the principal agents that opposed the Church of God.

Let us see how the true church comes into being, For example—we will suppose for the first time the Gospel is preached in any given city. Many are turned to the Lord. What is the result? They all come together “with one accord in one place.” What brings them together? Love. How long will they continue thus to meet together? Just as long as love [and the principle’s of truth] remains unbroken. That loving, unbroken band of believers in any one place, city or town, I call the Church of God in that place; and is the visible church; no organization of human invention can make it more visible, or more really the Church of God. They are “of one heart and of one soul.” See Acts iv. 22. To that “Church the Lord added daily.” See Acts ii. 47. No man, nor body of men, has any power or authority to add to the Lord’s Church; God has never entrusted men with that power.

Note by Ron: "God has a church. It is not the great cathedral, [or the super mega churches], neither is it the national establishment, neither is it the various denominations; it is the people who love God and keep His commandments. 'Where two or three are gathered together in My name, there am I in the midst of them.' Where Christ is even among the humble few, THIS IS CHRIST'S CHURCH, for the presence of the High and Holy One who inhabiteth eternity can alone constitute a church." Upward Look, p. 315.

The professing SDA church militant is teaching that it is impossible to keep the commandments of God until glorification! That would exclude that church from the above definition of God’s church. Also, the church has broken one of God’s most serious commands found in Isaiah 8:9-12, where is says three times that those who association, take council, gird and confederate with His enemies (Babylon) will be broken in pieces. End note.

A Church constituted as I have suggested is such a church as our Lord Jesus Christ prayed his church might be. See John xvii. 21, 22. “That they all may be ONE; as thou Father art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us—that they may be one, EVEN AS WE ARE ONE.”

This then is the true Church of God. Now, what are the principal agents in oppressing and injuring this Church? We answer, all those sects, whether Roman Catholics or Protestants, that go to work to divide and bring in “confusion” to the oneness of the Church. And how is this done? It is done by the manufacturing of creeds, whether written or oral, and endeavoring to organize a party; the test of fellowship being now, not love to God and each other, but assent to these creeds. The work of dividing or bringing in “confusion” into the true Church, now begins. Each sect has its agents—These surround the loving, united body of happy converts, who are all one, and the cry begins—“You must unite with some visible church” To his moment the loving converts did not dream but that “the Lord had “added” them to his church; and they were happily with one soul going on in service of the Lord. But a new sound has now saluted their ears. And what do they hear? The voice of union? No. A discordant sound salutes them. “We are right—all the rest are wrong—go with us”—cries each of these dividing agents. The first thought the loving, united church has, is, “We must all go together—we cannot be divided.” But the various agents continue their operations, day and night, “from house to house,” not to save souls, but to get them into “OUR CHRUCH.”

Note by Ron: It is the leaders who have brought in confusion to the SDA church by adoption of heretical doctrines and/or practices on the following issues:

·       The Human Nature of Christ.

·       The Godhead via the abominable Trinity Doctrine—Rome’s Central doctrine, which sweeps away the entire Christian economy.

·       Pays leaders who teach a false gospel that we cannot overcome as Christ did by the empowerment of His Holy Spirit Divine Nature, the highest good, crowning gift heaven could bestow.

·       A disbelief in righteousness by faith because of the above stated factor.

·       The Celebration Movement—when the church does evil it celebrates, Jeremiah 11:9-15.

·       A return to Babylon via ecumenical association, council, girding and confederacy which is unpardonable sin according to Jeremiah 11:9-15.

·       Using the sacred tithe for speculation on the Stock Market when it is supposed to go only to support the ministers.

·       Disregard for serious instructions in the Spirit of Prophecy as regards the operation of the church and educational facilities. Adoption of the world’s educational Accreditation Standards.

·       Consulting Babylon on how to grow churches.

·       Pulpit swapping which is spiritual spouse swapping. Inviting Roman Catholics and other Babylonians to speak at the General Conference World Session which is supposed to be the voice of God to the Adventist people.

·       Use of Hypnosis by the leaders to unitize the members in apostasy. (Prophesied by Ellen White).

·       Becoming Laodicean and then progressing backward and downward from lukewarmness to cold, treasonable apostasy.

·       Concord with Babylon to tone down the teaching of the Sabbath.

·       Conference Presidents telling ministers not to teach the three angel’s messages anymore.

·       Leaders who are “dumb-dogs” who will “never again show the House of Jacob its sins.” 5T 211.

·       This statement relative to the Celebration Movement: “The things you have described as taking place in Indiana, the Lord has shown me would take place just before the close of probation. Every uncouth thing will be demonstrated. There will be shouting, with drums, music, and dancing. The senses of rational beings will become so confused that they cannot be trusted to make right decisions. And this is called the moving of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit never reveals itself in such methods, in such a bedlam of noise. This is an invention of Satan to cover up his ingenious methods for making of none effect the pure, sincere, elevating, ennobling, sanctifying truth for this time. Better never have the worship of God blended with music, than to use musical instruments to do the work which last January was represented to me would be brought into our camp meetings. The truth for this time needs nothing of this kind in its work of converting souls. A bedlam of noise shocks the senses and perverts that which if conducted aright might be a blessing. The powers of satanic agencies blend with the din and noise, to have a carnival, and this is termed the Holy Spirit's working." E. G. White,  Selected Messages, Vol. 2, 36.

“And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.” Ezekiel 9:4.

"Mark this point with care: Those who receive the pure mark of truth, wrought in them by the power of the Holy Ghost, represented by a mark by the man in linen, are those 'that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the church.' Testimonies, vol. 3, pp. 266-267.

There are more abominations at the following links. God’s Word says that our very sealing (salvation) depends on our sighing and crying for all the abominations done in the church:

End note.

At length some of the converts begin to incline one way, and some another; now the division or “confusion” commences, and it goes on till they are all gathered into the different sects. Now look for the loving church of God; where is it? All in “confusion”—rent and torn into as many parties as there are agents of sects to carry on the Babylonish work. Instead of the Church of God, a loving, united, brotherly body, delighting to meet with each other, you now have Baptists, Methodists, Presbyterians, etc., etc., down to the end of the lists of divisions; and the so called churches are each making war on the other, not because they do not live as holy as themselves, but because their creeds differ; and hence “confusion” or Babylon is truly their name.

Now I should like to see one of these man—made organizations, the leading agencies of which are not opposed to the idea of the Lord Jesus Christ’s Second Advent; “at the door”—and which does not manifest hostility to that idea. Which of them, at this moment, are not saying “I sit as a queen!” and which of them are not pleasing themselves with the idea, that someday they are to effect the conquest of the world, and that it is to be subjected to their faith? Which of them will suffer a soul to remain among them in peace, that openly and fearlessly avows his faith in the Advent at the door?  Are not the terms of remaining among them undisturbed, that you “wholly refrain” from a public expression of faith in the coming of the Lord this year, whatever your convictions may be on the subject! And however important you may feel it to be to cry, “Fear God and give glory to him for THE HOUR OF HIS JUDGMENT IS COME.”

Note by Ron: Does Ellen White say that the SDA church is saying: “I sit as a queen!” In the following statement from The Great Controversy, pp. 17, 18, we find Jesus indicting Jerusalem as sitting as a queen, the very same words addressed to fallen Babylon in Revelation 18! I am not suggesting Jerusalem, the SDA church is Babylon. I am saying flat out that she is far worse than Babylon, as God does in Ezekiel Chapter 5. God says she is worse than any others. Why? Because she was privileged with the truth and profaned it anyway.

"From the crest of Olivet, Jesus looked upon Jerusalem. Fair and peaceful was the scene spread out before Him. It was the season of the Passover, and from all lands the children of Jacob had gathered there to celebrate the great national festival. In the midst of gardens and vineyards, and green slopes studded with pilgrims' tents, rose the terraced hills, the stately palaces, and massive bulwarks of Israel's capital. The daughter of Zion seemed in her pride to say, I sit a queen and shall see no sorrow; as lovely then, and deeming herself as secure in Heaven's favor, as when, ages before, the royal minstrel sang: "Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is Mount Zion, . . . the city of the great King." Psalm 48:2. In full view were the magnificent buildings of the temple. The rays of the setting sun lighted up the snowy whiteness of its marble walls and gleamed from golden gate and tower and pinnacle. "The perfection of beauty" it stood, the pride of the Jewish nation. What child of Israel could gaze upon the scene without a thrill of joy and admiration! But far other thoughts occupied the mind of Jesus. "When He was come near, He beheld the city, and wept over it." Luke 19:41. Amid the universal rejoicing of the triumphal entry, while palm branches waved, while glad hosannas awoke the echoes of the hills, and thousands of voices declared Him king, the world's Redeemer was overwhelmed with a sudden and mysterious sorrow. He, the Son of God, the Promised One of Israel, whose power had conquered death and called its captives from the grave, was in tears, not of ordinary grief, but of intense, irrepressible agony." The Great Controversy, pp. 17, 18.

With the overthrow of Jerusalem the disciples associated the events of Christ's personal coming in temporal glory to take the throne of universal empire, to punish the impenitent Jews, and to break off the nation from the Roman yoke. The Lord had told them that He would come the second time. Hence at the mention of judgments upon Jerusalem, their minds reverted to that coming; and as they were gathered about the Saviour upon the Mount of Olives, they asked: "When shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of Thy coming, and of the end of the world?" Verse 3.

The following words of Jesus to His disciples, were a prefigure (type) of two things:

1.   The destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple. Josephus says it all began at the Temple just as Ezekiel 9 instructed: “BEGIN AT MY SANCTUARY.”

2.   It prefigures the terrors of the last great day and those terrors BEGIN AT HIS SANCTUARY.

The destruction of Jerusalem was a fulfillment of Ezekiel 9, “beginning at His Sanctuary.” Ellen White says that Ezekiel 9 will be literally fulfilled again, “beginning at His Sanctuary.”

"Study the 9th chapter of Ezekiel. These words will be literally fulfilled yet the time is passing, and the people are asleep. They refuse to humble their souls and to be converted. Not a great while longer will the Lord bear with the people who have such great and important truths revealed to them, but who refuse to bring these truths into their individual experience. The time is short. God is calling will YOU hear? Will YOU receive His message? Will YOU be converted before it is too late? Soon, very soon, every case will be decided for eternity. Letter 106, 1909, pp. 2, 3, 5, 7. (To "The churches in Oakland and Berkeley, September 26, 1909.)" E. G. White Manuscript Releases Volume One, p. 260.

“The time will soon come when the prophecy of Ezekiel 9 will be fulfilled; that prophecy should be carefully studied, for it will be fulfilled to the very letter.”— Ellen G. White 1888 Materials, p. 1303.

The “letter” of Ezekiel 9 says where it will BEGIN: “Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house.”

Ellen White says where it will begin as well and why:

Begin at My Sanctuary -- "Here we see that the church--the Lord's sanctuary--was the first to feel the stroke of the wrath of God. The ancient men [leaders], those to whom God had given great light and who had stood as guardians of the spiritual interests of the people, had betrayed their trust. They had taken the position that we need not look for miracles and the marked manifestation of God's power as in former days. Times have changed. These words strengthen their unbelief, and they say: The Lord will not do good, neither will He do evil. He is too merciful to visit His people in judgment. Thus 'Peace and safety" is the cry from men who will never again lift up their voice like a trumpet to show God's people their transgressions and the house of Jacob their sins. These dumb dogs that would not bark are the ones who feel the just vengeance of an offended God. Men, maidens, and little children all perish together." E. G. White, Testimonies, Vol. 5, 211.

The leaders at Jerusalem's headquarters were guilty of UNBELIEF. Unbelief is atheism. Egypt is symbolic of Atheism, but it is far worse to imbibe UNBELIEF after knowing the truth. So SDA leaders (ancient men) are guilty of UNBELIEF, SYMBOLIZED BY Egypt, which is atheism or actually worse than Babylon. That is why Ellen White said they were worse:

Worse than Babylon -- "God's professed people are selfish and self-caring....They are idolaters, and are worse, in the sight of God, than the heathen, graven-image worshippers who have had no knowledge of a better way." Testimonies, Vol. 2, 440-442.

“The desolation of Jerusalem stands as a solemn warning before the eyes of modern Israel.” E.G. White, The Signs of the Times, February 12, 1880:

“The future was mercifully veiled from the disciples. Had they at that time fully comprehend the two awful facts--the Redeemer's sufferings and death, and the destruction of their city and temple--they would have been overwhelmed with horror. Christ presented before them an outline of the prominent events to take place before the close of time. His words were not then fully understood; but their meaning was to be unfolded as His people should need the instruction therein given. The prophecy which He uttered was twofold in its meaning; while foreshadowing the destruction of Jerusalem, it prefigured also the terrors of the last great day.

Jesus declared to the listening disciples the judgments that were to fall upon apostate Israel, and especially the retributive vengeance that would come upon them for their rejection and crucifixion of the Messiah. Unmistakable signs would precede the awful climax. The dreaded hour would come suddenly and swiftly. And the Saviour warned His followers: "When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) then let them which be in Judea flee into the mountains." Matthew 24:15, 16; Luke 21:20, 21. When the idolatrous standards of the Romans should be set up in the holy ground, which extended some furlongs outside the city walls, then the followers of Christ were to find safety in flight. When the warning sign should be seen, those who would escape must make no delay. Throughout the land of Judea, as well as in Jerusalem itself, the signal for flight must be immediately obeyed. He who chanced to be upon the housetop must not go down into his house, even to save his most valued treasures. Those who were working in the fields or vineyards must not take time to return for the outer garment laid aside while they should be toiling in the heat of the day. They must not hesitate a moment, lest they be involved in the general destruction.” The Great Controversy, pp. 25, 26.

Revelation 18:7:

7How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow. End note.

Surely we need have no great difficulty in deciding where Babylon is, or what it is. It is the old mother and all her children; who are known by the family likeness a domineering, lordly spirit, a spirit to suppress a free search after truth, and a free expression of our conviction of what is truth.

   II. Why Come Out!

“Every one of us shall give account of HIMSELF to God,” (Rom. Xiv. 13.) We have no right to let any men, or body of men, thus lord it over us. And to remain, it appears to me, in such an [apostate] organized body, is to remain in Babylon.

Babylon has become great and strong; and in her own estimation, she is “rich, and increased with goods,” and “has need of nothing;” but she is ignorant of the fact that she is “wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked,” while Christ standeth “at the door;” and she refuseth to hear a word of his coming “in;” and like “Diotrephes,” 3 John 10, she is “prating against” those, who talk of the coming of Christ, “with malicious words; and not content therewith, neither doth” she herself “receive the brethren, and forbideth them that would; and casteth them out of the church,” so far as is in her power.

“Well,” say some, “if they will turn us out, let them do it; we will stay with them until we are turned out.—But, does God say, stay in here till you are turned out! NO. He says—“Come out of her my people.” Come out of this “confusion,” this Babylon.

Babylon is to fall—to fall to rise no more. The day of her fall is nigh, even at the door. Though in the order of the record, her fall (Rev. xviii. 2, 4) is before the call to come out of her, yet I think, as a matter of fact, it is after.

That it is so I think we shall be convinced by turning to Jer. 51: 42 to 45.

“The sea is come up upon Babylon: she is covered with the multitude of the waves thereof. Her cities are a desolation, a dry land, and a wilderness, a land wherein no man dwelleth, neither doth any son of man pass thereby. And I will punish Bel in Babylon, and I will bring forth out of his mouth that which he hath swallowed up: and the nations shall not flow together any more unto him: yea, the wall of Babylon shall fall. My people, go ye out of the midst of her, and deliver ye every man his soul from the fierce anger of the LORD.”

Thus it will be seen that although Babylon is represented as if already overwhelmed by the sea, and her cities desolate, yet the command to go out of her is after. Here I think, it is clear, that is spoken of which is to befall Babylon as though it were past, while in fact it was future. So in the 18th of Rev. 2nd verse, the future fall of mystical Babylon is spoken of as if already past, because of the certainly of the event, and the cry indicates the time when God’s people are to come out of her; and if they do not heed it they may expect to be partakers of her plagues; those plagues are set forth in the 14th chap. 9th to 11th verses.

“And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.”

And more fully described in chap. 16: 1 to 11.

“And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth. And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image. And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea. And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood. And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus. For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy. And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments. And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire. And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory. And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain, And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.”

These are judgments, I apprehend, which are to fall on Babylon; and if the people of God do not intend to “be partakers of her sins, and receive of her plagues,” let them hast to flee out of her, yea, if you have any hope of escaping the “Second Death.” Make no tarring in all the plain.

But it will be asked, “Where shall we go if we come out?” Go to the Lord. Trust in Him. “Wait for his Son from heaven.” Take care that you do not seek to manufacture another church. No church can be organized by man’s invention but what it becomes Babylon moment it is organized. The Lord organizes his own church by the strong bonds of love. Stronger bonds than that cannot be made; and when such bonds will not hold together the professed followers, and drop off from the body as a matter of course.

The human machinery, called churches, blinds together the dead with the living; and when the living head (Christ) is announced as at the door, ‘his body is convulsed, the living cannot but rejoice, when they understand the subject; but the dead writhe in agony at the thought. Take heed then, living souls, that you are not crushed by Babylon—by the “confusion” and death that is around you in the modern “Babels.”

“Come out of her my people.”

Addendum by Ron:

More reasons why Ezekiel 9 Begins at His Sanctuary and why the second angel’s message applies to SDA’s NOW and during the Loud Cry:

"Jesus sends HIS PEOPLE a message of warning to prepare them for his coming. To the prophet John was made known the closing work in the great plan of man's redemption. He beheld an angel flying 'in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him for the hour of his Judgment is come and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters [Rev. 14:6, 7.].

The angel represented in prophecy as delivering this message,  symbolizes a class of faithful men, who, obedient to the promptings of God's Spirit and the teachings of his word, proclaim this warning to the inhabitants of earth. This message was not to be committed to the religious leaders of the people. They had failed to preserve their connection with God, and had REFUSED THE LIGHT FROM HEAVEN therefore they WERE NOT of the number described by the apostle Paul: 'But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day we are not of the night nor of darkness' [1 Thess. 5:4, 5].

The watchmen upon the walls of Zion should be the first to catch the tidings of the Saviour's advent, the first to lift their voices to proclaim him near, the first to warn the people to prepare for his coming. But they were at ease, dreaming of peace and safety, while the people were asleep in their sins. Jesus saw HIS CHURCH, like the barren fig-tree, covered with pretentious leaves, yet destitute of precious fruit. There was a boastful observance of the forms of religion, while the spirit of true humility, penitence and faith--which alone could render the service acceptable to God--was lacking. Instead of the graces of the Spirit, there were manifested pride, formalism, vainglory, selfishness, oppression. A BACKSLIDING CHURCH closed their eyes to the signs of the times. God did nor forsake them, or suffer his faithfulness to fail but they departed from him, and SEPARATED THEMSELVES from his love. As they REFUSED TO COMPLY WITH THE CONDITIONS, his promises were NOT FULFILLED to them."  E.G. White, The Spirit of Prophecy,  vol. 4, pp. 199-200 [The 1884 edition of The Great Controversy, 199, 200].

Notice from the above statement:

·       Ellen White is addressing a BACKSLIDING CHURCH whose leaders and laity alike failed and rejected light from heaven and who refused to comply with the conditions so that God's promises are not fulfilled to them.

·       Ellen White is addressing HIS PEOPLE.

·       Ellen White is addressing those to whom was committed the EVERLASTING GOSPEL of Revelation 14.

·       Ellen White is defining the angel represented in prophecy AS DELIVERING THIS MESSAGE--NOT MEN OF BABYLON WHO FAILED TO ACCEPT THAT MESSAGE AS THE 1911 EDITION IMPLIES!

·       Ellen White is implying that the third angel's message is delivered NOT BY THE LEADERS OF THE SDA CHURCH, but by a class of faithful men because the leaders had failed to preserve their connection with God and had refused light from heaven!

·       Ellen White is addressing "watchmen upon the walls of Zion," NOT FALLEN BABYLON!

·       Zion is the bride of Christ that is married. Isaiah 62:1-5. Zion in no way refers to Babylonian churches.

·       Twice Ellen White mentions HIS CHURCH, NOT FALLEN BABYLON.

·       The abominations we are to sigh and cry for are serious unpardonable sin violations of God’s Word, else Ezekiel 9 would not begin at His Sanctuary, the House of Jacob, the SDA church.

·       The only way to avoid corporate responsibility for the abominations is by following the course all true Christians followed in the last literal fulfillment of Ezekiel 9, A.D. 27-70; they formed home churches and left the apostate Jewish Temple church and they kept apostate doctrines and practices out of their home churches. This is a most serious warning to us. It is a PREFIGURE TYPE God has given us to follow at this end time. Men, maidens and little children will all perish together forever because they will not take this warning seriously. I pray you, reader, will be one of the faithful.

·       God said that if the church became Babylon, it would not be in His favor any more than the fallen churches of Babylon:

·       "If the church of God becomes LUKEWARM [LAODICEAN] it does not stand in favor with God any more than do the churches that are represented as having fallen and become the habitation of devils and the hold of every foul spirit and the cage of every unclean and hateful bird. Those who have had opportunities to hear and receive the truth, and who have united with the Seventh-day Adventist church, calling themselves the commandment keeping people of God, and yet possess no more vitality and consecration to God than do the nominal churches, will receive of the plagues of God just as verily as the churches who oppose the law of God." E.G. White, Letter 35, 1898.

If Laodicea is not regarded with any more favor by God than the fallen churches, and the call of Laodicea is to all churches, then there is no difference between Laodicea and the fallen churches as far as being in a fallen state is concerned. Different churches believe different aspects of Babylonian teachings, but Ellen White equates them all as far as falling from the favor of God is concerned, and as far as constituting the habitation of devils and the hold of every foul spirit and the cage of every unclean and hateful bird. That being said, God says in Ezekiel 5, that Jerusalem is worse than all other nations, and broke His statutes more than those nations. This is true primarily because they knew the truth and violated it anyway. Ezekiel Chapter 5 gives some of the reasons for Ezekiel 9, and Ezekiel 5 applies to apostate Adventists today because Ellen White says Ezekiel 9 literally begins at His Sanctuary, the House of Jacob, those who have been privileged with great light.

·        The church became worse than lukewarm Laodicea. It has become cold apostate. Laodicean lukewarmness is pardonable, but cold, strictly forbidden apostasy is not pardonable. All such are broken in pieces, Isaiah 8:9-12.

·       "We must as a people arouse and cleanse the camp of Israel. Licentiousness, unlawful intimacy, and unholy practices are coming in among us in a large degree...We are in danger of becoming a sister to fallen Babylon, of allowing our churches to become corrupted and filled with every foul spirit, a cage for every unclean and hateful bird, and will we be clear unless we make decided movements to cure the existing evil? E. G. White, Manuscript Releases No. 449, pp. 17, 18. (Letter 51, 1886 to Elder Butler) Testimonies on Sexual Behavior, Adultery, and Divorce, p. 193.

·        The church did not heed the above admonition. Now it has the same divorce rate as the world. Because of other unpardonable sins, the above entreaty no longer applies to the church as a corporate body, but it does apply to individuals.

·       "Now it is just EXACTLY as in the days of the Jews. When a message came in, why all the power of the leaders [such some leaders on this forum] WAS PUT AGAINST IT, THAT IT SHOULD NOT HAVE ACCESS TO THE PEOPLE. Now, brethren, GO TO GOD FOR YOURSELVES, and on your knees plead with God...If God sends us light, let it come to us, and let no man close the door, or try to close it. Don't close it yourselves. Open the door of your heart and let the brilliant rays of light shine into your heart and into your mind. I pray you, let the Sun of Righteousness in." E.G. White, Manuscript Release #900, Manuscript 9, 1890. 1888 Materials, p. 541.

·       Because of all of the above reasons, the second angel’s message and the Midnight Cry (Loud Cry) now apply to the professing new movement, new organization (1SM 204-205) SDA Synagogue of Satan. We cannot properly call it a church because only the presence of God can constitute a church, and the 1SM reference says that God’s presence has been removed.

·       Ellen White said that the Midnight Cry (Matthew 25) gives power to the Second Angel’s Message.

·       This warning is serious, present truth light just as surely as its precepts are empirical and impossible to refute. Any willingness to reject it will result in eternal loss. All who reject this truth become totally blind to it. Ellen White said we become blind in proportion to the light rejected. And so it is.
