Robert
Sessler’s Deceptive Use of Ellipses
by Ron Beaulieu
Motto:"If any
man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of
our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about
questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh
envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,
Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and
destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw
thyself." -1 Timothy 6:3-5
Click to go to our Home PageDear Reader, Much of Ellen White’s
writings contain ellipses (…) which were put there by the editors at the
White Estate. I never insert them myself, and/or if I have ever done so, it
was not in an effort to change the her meaning of
the meaning of anything published by the church in a deliberate effort to
discredit the church. That is lying, dishonest over-reaching that no true
reformer will ever imbibe. -----

Notice
the ellipses in his quoting of Ellen White. Why would the accuser of
Robert Sessler choose to employ the same deceptiveness by elippsing
the following words from the Ellen White statement he was quoting: "We should not needlessly take
a course that will make differences or create dissension." The same person, who accuses Sessler, regularly accuses me of
manipulating Ellen White's writings. This is a classic example of his
manipulation--chop and slice use of the Testimonies. You will
take passages in the Testimonies that speak of the close of probation, of the
shaking among God's people, and you will talk of a coming out from this people of a purer, holier
people that will arise. Now all this pleases the enemy.
. . . Should many accept the views you
advance, and talk and act upon them, we would see one of the greatest
fanatical excitements that has ever been witnessed
among Seventh-day Adventists.
This is what Satan wants.--1SM 179 (1890). The actual
statement reads: "You
will take passages in the Testimonies that speak of the close of probation,
of the shaking among God's people, and you will talk of a coming out from
this people of a purer, holier people that will arise. Now all this
pleases the enemy.
We
should not needlessly take a course that will make
differences or create dissension. We should not
give the impression that if our particular ideas are not followed, it is
because the ministers are lacking in comprehension and in faith, and are
walking in darkness." That word
NEEDLESSLY is a highly qualitative word! In the time of gross apostasy,
is it not NEEDFUL to sigh and cry for the abominations. Is that not a
very conditional QUALIFICATION for the sealing of God in Ezekiel 9? What about
circumstances under which truth has been grossly compromised and altered by
omega apostasy of church leaders and laity who have supported them in such
apostasy? What about differences that create
dissension then?! Ellen White said that our religion admits of NO
COMPROMISE and that we should repudiate all apostasy. 1SM 204-5. "To secure peace and unity they were ready
to make any concession consistent with fidelity to God but they felt that
even peace would be too dearly purchased at the sacrifice of principle. If
unity could be secured only by the compromise of truth and righteousness,
then let there be difference, and even war" (Great Controversy,
p. 45). Ulicia
Unruh, an SDA ministers wife, convinced the unnamed
person that Ezekiel 5 was written only for the Jews and applied only to their
experience while under captivity to Nebuchadnezzar. Ellen White said that all
the ancient prophets wrote more for us than the Jews. Ezekiel 5:9 must refer
to the end-time, because Matthew 24:21, says that is when God does the worst
thing He ever has done or will do. It is known as His “strange act.” Ulicia
Unruh is one of Robert Sessler’s greatest critics
for his misrepresentation by deceptive ellipses, of some SDA periodical
articles, yet she misrepresents Ellen White on Ezekiel 5, to change the
entire tenor of what Ellen White said when she said that all of the ancient
prophets wrote more for us than the Jews. "The Bible for Our Time.--Never are we
absent from the mind of God. God is our joy and our salvation. Each of the
ancient prophets spoke less for their own time than for ours, so that their
prophesying is in force for us. 'Now all these things happened unto them for
ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the
world are come' (1 Cor. 10:11). 'Not unto themselves, but unto us they did
minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have
preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven which
things the angels desire to look into' (1 Peter 1:12).'" E.G. White, Selected Messages, Bk. 3, p. 338. So
who is Ulicia Unruh to say that Ezekiel’s admonitions to Israel in Ezekiel 5,
applied only to the Jews under Nebuchadnezzar’s captivity of the Jews? That
is gross and serious misrepresentation of God’s Word and the Spirit of
Prophecy. Regarding
Ezekiel 9, no less, (Ellen White begins 5T 211, on pay 207, by quoting
Ezekiel 9) I quote Ellen White's and God's teaching that the leaders are ALL
ignorant and ALL cannot understand, and that NEVER AGAIN, will they show the
House of Jacob its sins, Testimonies,
Vol. 5, 211 and Isaiah 56:10-12. I am
regularly accused of misrepresenting Ellen White’s statements by the person
who does not want his name mentioned. But he would be hard pressed
(impossible) to find one case in which I have misrepresented Ellen White ONE
TIME. He says I misrepresented her Testimonies,
Vol. 8, p. 250, statement wherein she called the church a harlot. He says she
did not call the church a harlot. Read the very next paragraph where it is
confirmed again that she was speaking to the church, to wit: “God has
not changed toward His faithful servants who are keeping their garments
spotless. But many are crying, "Peace and safety," while sudden
destruction is coming upon them. Unless there is thorough repentance, unless
men humble their hearts by confession and receive the truth as it is in
Jesus, they will never enter heaven. When purification shall take place in
our ranks, we shall no longer rest at ease, boasting of being rich and increased
with goods, in need of nothing. {8T 250.1} Who can truthfully say: "Our gold
is tried in the fire; our garments are unspotted by the world"? I saw
our Instructor pointing to the garments of so-called righteousness. Stripping
them off, He laid bare the defilement beneath. Then He said to me: "Can
you not see how they have pretentiously covered up their defilement and
rottenness of character?' How is the faithful city
become an harlot!' My Father's house is made a house of merchandise, a
place whence the divine presence and glory have departed! For this cause
there is weakness, and strength is lacking." {8T 250.2} A Call For Reformation Unless the church, which is
now being leavened with her own backsliding, shall repent and be
converted, she will eat of the fruit of her own doing, until she shall abhor
herself. When she resists the evil and chooses the good, when she seeks God
with all humility and reaches her high calling in Christ, standing on the
platform of eternal truth and by faith laying hold upon the attainments
prepared for her, she will be healed. She will appear in her God-given
simplicity and
251 purity, separate from earthly entanglements, showing that the
truth has made her free indeed. Then her members will indeed be the chosen of
God, His representatives.” {8T 250.3} It was
purported by the person accusing me that Ellen White was speaking only of
some individuals in the church. Clearly, Ellen White is speaking not to mere
individuals, but to: ·
The
once “faithful city,” the church. ·
“…the church, which is now being
leavened with her own backsliding…” ·
“…My
Father's house is made a house of merchandise, a place whence the divine
presence and glory have departed!” Ulicia Unruh’s Partially Justified
Diatribe Against Robert Sessler Ulicia
Unruh is on the warpath against Robert Sessler and in some cases her warring
spirit is justified. But her warring spirit is also a smokescreen to the many
gross teachings of her own church involving “another gospel,” a false gospel.
First, I will present Ulicia’s warring’s
against Robert Sessler, that cannot be contested. She is right on the
following examples. I have resisted association with Robert Sessler since the
inception of my ministry because of his over-reaching of the truth to teach
error. That is so unfortunate as he teaches much
truth regarding the omega of apostasy New Movement SDA church. He does not
need to over-reach and I do not understand his wantonness in doing so. The person who submitted the following Robert Sessler quotings to Ulicia Unruh, does not want her name mentioned, but she
continued to distribute materials with Sessler’s
ministry name on them even after being made aware of the following dishonesty
by him. I will
fully warn those who financially support Robert Sessler in his deceptiveness, that it will be no more excusable to
support his errors than those of the church he denounces as being in error.
That having been said, there is much good in Robert’s writings that we may
present with the qualification that we do not fully endorse and/or
financially support all of his teachings. At any
rate, here is some of the deceptive error he is imbibing as pointed out by Ulicia
Unruh and others on some SDA Internet forums. As it is my mission and
commission to show the House of Jacob its sins, I cannot be prejudice in
overlooking those of one Robert Sessler or anyone else. What I present below
is only a sampling of his errors. He uses ellipses profusely and you should
check them all out by reading the material he is quoting in its entire
context! After Ulicia’s examples of Robert’s errors, I will cite some of
the most serious errors of the church that Robert correctly exposes, and
which Ulicia and most SDA’s choose to ignore. -----

forgiven; the guilt is gone. So God is
not keeping a record of our sins up there, but a
record of His forgiveness,
His mercy in our lives." -----

Re: First Angel's Message Now let's look at another of the
"clipped" phrases. Here's the clipped phrase: "...God took the initiative to forgive
and And here is a large portion of
the article that contains that phrase: Note by Ron: Why Ulicia chose to leave out
portions of Landis’ and Venden’s articles, I don’t know. I don’t have access
to them in order to possibly ascertain why she omitted portions. There are
errors in the script but the articles are cut and pasted from her rendition
of them. RIGHTEOUS
RELATIONSHIPS by James Londis When a man tells me he wants to
divorce his wife because she committed adultery, that he has "biblical
grounds," and that "nobody can do anything about it because the
church will honor it," that man is telling me he knows next to nothing
about the gospel's declaration that we are righteous through grace by
faith. I say that because he is allowing a
relationship to die without fighting to save it, allowing an obviously wrong
act to shatter a family built with years of shared sacrifice and love. This is something God would never
do. Righteousness by faith means that God's
FIRST response to human weakness is forgiveness and redemption,
reconciling us to Himself (see 2 Cor. 5:19, 20). When through our
unfaithfulness we adulterate our relationship to God, the LAST thing God does
is find justification to abandon and punish us. Relationship with
sinners is more important to God than anything else. This is
because God knows that obedient or disobedient behavior is always an
outgrowth of the quality of one's relationship to God and other people. Not that our actions are
unimportant or separable from our relationships with each other…. While
both behavior and relationships are important and intimately tied to each
other the relationships are primary. That is why Paul says that after
God has reconciled Himself to us, we need to be reconciled to
God. That is, even if we are forgiven, a relationship with God
depends on our accepting that forgiveness and responding to it with a
commitment. Once a relationship is restored, nurtured, and matured,
sooner or later the behavior changes for the better. If the
behavior does not change, if disobedience persists, it means the relationship
is not healed. That is one of the meanings behind the counsel
that we must draw ever closer to God if we want to over come sin…… Jesus understood this so well. This is why He was so accepting of
prostitutes and publicans, why He was so patient with the weaknesses of His
disciples, why He could forgive even His crucifiers. Jesus
realized that people are not changed by being commanded: they are changed by
being loved, by relationships. In fact, the judgment scene parable
in Matthew 25 makes it clear that the basis for evaluating our fitness for
the kingdom is the way we relate to those most difficult to relate to:
the suffering and the outcast. Those who have come into relationship with God because
God took the initiative to forgive and accept them in their sins also take
the initiative to forgive and accept both the most sinful and the most
victimized by sin. We now know that what is most
painful for the dying, the poor, or the imprisoned is their utter sense of
being alone, their feeling nobody cares. The cup of cold water to
the thirsty, the jacket to the naked, or the visit to the prisoner tells them
they are important, important enough for someone to take the time to be with
them….. Can we take the first step of
reconciliation toward someone who has hurt us deeply, for no good
reason? Can we take time for the neurotic dependent people in our
local church whose hunger for companionship almost swallows us up? Can
we open our church facilities to the homeless, with their smells and filth? When I say righteousness by faith
is reflected in our relationships more than in our behavior, I am talking
about being an open, approachable kind of person who accepts people even with
their faults. Behaviorally oriented people (legalists) seem
unapproachable. You cannot make a mistake in their presence and feel
safe. Their "righteousness" repels rather than
attracts, especially repels the sinners. They seem to lack compassion,
tenderness, empathy. At times they can be harsh and unforgiving of the
weak, impatient with the fallen.. People focused on acts rather than
relationships are not only unloving, they are unlovable. Like the
Pharisees and the elder brother, they refuse to enter into any relationship
with sinners, even their own brothers. Purity is their ultimate
value, not redemption. To that extent it's true, they have not learned what the gospel is saying
about righteousness through Christ. Jesus told His disciples that
their righteousness must exceed the righteousness of the scribes and
Pharisees – not that we are talking about a quantity as much as of a
quality. To love those who hate you is not MORE love than loving those
who love you, it is a DIFFERENT love, the kind that
elevates relationships even with our enemies – over behavior. Relationships are never
routine. They are costly. When the prophet Hosea went into
the streets to find his unfaithful wife Gomer, he
did not go whistling a happy tune. He was humiliated and
hurt. But his relationship to his wife was more important than his
pain. Gomer could have vetoed Hosea's
initiative. If she had, she would have remained in her adultery and
Hosea would have remained in his suffering. Hebrews tells us that "for the
joy that was set before him" – the joy of being united with His brothers
and sister – Jesus "endured the cross" (Heb.
12:2). -----

Robert
Sessler Expose’s of the New Movement SDA Church Which Ulicia Unruh and Others
Choose to Ignore The letter proofs that Sessler has
concerning the church’s ecumenical involvement with Babylon, are irrefutable.
The church’s own admitted involvement with Babylon is sufficient to prove
that it is in violation of the Midnight Cry of Matthew 25, and the first and
second angel’s messages. This is sufficient for Sessler’s
call out message. Jeremiah 11:9-15 is proof of this. Verse 14 and 15 call out
God’s beloved. The 144,000 of Revelation 14:1-4, are not defiled with women
(fallen churches), and Isaiah 4:1-4, indicts all formally organized churches
at the end time as fallen. God says to accurse even an angel
who should come to us with “another gospel.” The professing SDA church
clearly teaches two different gospels. This alone demands another coming out. Any literal fulfillment of Ezekiel
9 would demand another coming out! Ezekiel 22:17-31, cannot be separated from
Ezekiel 9. Isaiah 37:31, 32, cannot be separated from Isaiah 4:1-4. Testimonies, Vol. 5, 211, cannot be
separated from the word “prefigure,” on page 25 of The Great Controversy. The last fulfillment of Ezekiel 9 was in
A.D. 70. Ellen White called that a prefigure that was symbolic of the
destruction of the world at the end-time, BEGINNING AT HIS SANCTUARY, because
God said that judgment begins at His house. Nick Petula is an associate of
Robert Sessler. I told the above truth to Nick Petula one Sunday about a year
and a half ago, and he said that knowledge “made his day.” This is all you
need Robert and Nick. You don’t need the devious lies by way of
misrepresenting statements from SDA periodicals. When you do that, you end up
being all as bad as the dishonest church you are trying to expose. There are
enough genuine abominations the church is committing for which we are to sigh
and cry, Ezekiel 9:6, without “manufacturing” some in an effort to try to
make it worse in order to be more convincing. Much of everything one believes
about salvation clusters around one’s belief concerning the human nature of
Jesus Christ. If Christ did not take Adam’s nature AFTER the fall, He would
not qualify as any example for us. He could thus be only our substitute. The
New Theology Gospel of New Movement Adventism,
teaches that “another gospel,” by which Christ could never be our example for
by their teaching, He had advantages over us. The following verse levels the
playing ground because we a proffered the Divine Nature of Jesus Christ in
order to overcome sin this side of glorification:
"[Jesus]
Took Sinless Nature of Adam Before Fall." Movement of Destiny
(MOD), p 497, by Leroy Edwin Froom, R&HPA, 1971. "...Jesus had the absolute,
perfect, sinless nature of Adam before He fell." Salvation by
Faith and Your Will (SBF), p 93, by Morris L. Venden,
Southern Publishing Association (SPA), 1978. "It is wrong for a person to
attempt to live the Christian life. We are not asked to do so."
SBF 40. "The word lost in the New
Testament does not mean that someone is damned or doomed." AR
April 1, 1993, p 21. (NOTE: Strong's Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible
translates "lost" (#622) to mean "to destroy, die, lose, mar, perish.") The SDA church has changed the
Everlasting Gospel, into the doctrine of the Nicolaitans which God
hates! They teach that Christ had advantages over humanity with regards
to overcoming sin, thus they have effectively robbed Christ away from the
people as a personal Saviour saving us from sin, into a Saviour saving
us in sin. They have changed "fear God" and keep His
commandments of righteousness, into fear satan
and keep his commandments of sin! They have changed "give glory to
God" by reflecting only His character of righteousness, into give
glory to Satan by reflecting his character of unrighteousness! They
have changed "worship God" alone and give Him your spiritual
allegiance, into worship other things and give your spiritual
allegiance to the SDA church and its leadership! And they have changed
God's judgment against sin, into delivering us from personal sin!
Thus no one is really doomed to die in a lost condition, but all will
be saved in sin. What about the warning against the Image--or the
Protestant churches, including the World Council of Churches (WCC)? The SDA church does not warn against
the apostate Protestant churches or the WCC, because they are united with and
one of them! In 1973 the SDA church, in conjunction
with the WCC, wrote a book titled So Much In Common. George Vandeman also wrote a book praising the apostate churches
titled What I Like About...The Lutherans, The Baptists, The Methodists,
The Charismatics, The Catholics, Our Jewish
Friends, The Adventists; Rescuers of Neglected Truth, PPPA, 1986. Added by Ron: Fear and Shun "'They that
forsake the law praise the wicked.'
Proverbs 28:4. When those who are uniting with the world, yet claiming great
purity, plead for union with those who have ever been the opposers of the
cause of truth, we should fear and shun them as decidedly as did Nehemiah.
Such counsel is prompted by the enemy of all good. It is the speech of
timeservers, and should be resisted as resolutely today as then. Whatever
influence would tend to unsettle the faith of God' people in His guiding
power, should be steadfastly withstood." E.G. White, Prophets and Kings,
p. 660. Unfortunately, Robert Sessler has scores of
quotes surrounded by ellipses. These quotes cannot be trusted without
checking the quotes according to the context from which they are drawn. My
wife and I noticed years ago that Robert has a strong penchant for
over-reaching by taking things out of context, when there is sufficient
evidence for his message without such devious tactics. Apparently, Sessler became frustrated with the
indifferent reaction of SDA’s to his ecumenical involvement proof and he
tried to make the evidence more convincing by deception, and it is an
understatement to say that is neither necessary to convincing the sincere,
nor is it condoned by God. So Sessler’s work ends
up making the case of true reformers that much more difficult by the
dispersions his spurious tactics lend to the cause of truth. And his tactics
become embarrassing to his patrons when they proffer his “proofs” to more
astute Adventists. Again, this is greatly unfortunate and lends discordance
to the cause of true reformer truth. The task of checking out the context of Sessler’s many quotes for validity would be monumental. Some are calling Sessler’s
deviousness criminal, but they don’t seem to mind the spiritual criminality
of their leaders in committing omega of apostasy abominations that will get
the church broken in pieces, Isaiah 8:9-14 and Ezekiel 9:2—See margin reading
for slaughter weapons—“a weapon of his breaking in pieces” KJV. Some on SDA Internet forum have accused me of the
same practice, but it will be found IMPOSSILBE for them to prove their false
charges by any proof example(s). One person is accusing me of saying that I
learned from Sessler. The only thing I have personally learned from Robert
Sessler is the devastating results of over-reaching the truth. However, I
have said that there is truth that can be garnered from some of Sessler’s
material. As I always say, take the good and leave the bad, and when it comes
to Sessler’s material it will require a wealth of contextual checking to
discern between the two! Ron |
