Sessler's Error on the Godhead

Elder Robert Sessler quotes scores of Ellen White statements on the
Godhead. It is most interesting that he has omitted the very same two quotes
as did Erwin Roy Gane. The following all-important
statements defining exactly who and what the Holy Spirit is, are
conspicuously absent from Robert Sessler's, as well
as Gane's presentation. Thus, both either do not
understand the Godhead, and/or they are wilfully teaching error to support
their own particular rendition. Here are the Ellen White statements that both
of those men fail to deal with as of this 21 November, 2002: "The Holy
Spirit is the breath of spiritual life in the soul. The impartation of the
Spirit is the impartation of the life of Christ. It imbues the receiver with
the attributes of Christ. Only those who are thus taught of God, those who
possess the inward working of the Spirit, and in whose life the Christ-life
is manifested, are to stand as representative men, to minister in behalf of
the church." Desire of Ages, 805. "Christ
declared that after His ascension, he would send to his church, as his
crowning GIFT, the comforter, who is the Holy Spirit,--THE SOUL OF HIS LIFE,
THE EFFICACY OF HIS CHURCH, THE LIGHT AND LIFE OF
THE WORLD. With HIS SPIRIT Christ sends a reconciling influence and a power
that takes away sin. In the gift of the Spirit, [HIS LIFE--THE SOUL OF HIS
LIFE] Jesus gave to man the highest good that heaven could bestow." E.G.
White, Review and Herald, May 19, 1904. Book 5, p. 42. Robert Sessler does deal with the following statement but does
not interpret it correctly so all the weight of evidence does not contradict:
“Cumbered with
humanity Christ could not be in every place personally, therefore it was
altogether for their advantage that He should leave them to go to His Father
and send the Holy Spirit to be His successor on earth. The Holy Spirit is
Himself divested of the personality of humanity and independent thereof. He
would represent Himself as present in all places by His Holy Spirit.” E.G.
White, (Manuscript Releases Volume 14 (No’s 1081-1135) MR No.1084. The Holy Spirit
always existed as the essence of the ONE, ETERNAL SPIRIT of God the Father
and God the Son. The Son laid aside His Life (His Spirit) at His Incarnation,
and bequeathed it to us as His crowing gift to us. This is when the Holy
Spirit became a third person of the Godhead successor. Before the
Incarnation, the Holy Spirit functioned as the essence of Being and Power of
the Father and the Son. The Trinity
doctrine error, as embraced by professing Seventh-day Adventist, agrees with
the Catholics that the Holy Spirit functioned as a third person from all
eternity, and that is heresy, because the third person element came into play
when Christ offered up His Life, at His Incarnation, as the crowing gift to
man for his regeneration back into the image of God. The Trinity doctrine as
held by the Catholics, and now professing Seventh-day Adventists, since 1931,
nullifies the greatest gift, the "crowning gift," of Christ to
mankind--His very original LIFE, HIS HOLY SPIRIT, HIS SOUL. This is
blasphemous abomination of the worst order. Nothing--no act of
apostasy--could be worse than denying and nullifying the greatest gift that
Christ ever gave to man. The crowning gift is nullified, because the Trinity
doctrine attributes what should be the very Life and Soul of Christ--HIS HOLY
SPIRIT, to another third person, existing from eternity. Because the Son
existed from eternity before and after the Incarnation, but in different
forms of Being, so the three persons of the Godhead have existed from
eternity. "The Spirit
was given as a regenerating agency, and without this the sacrifice of Christ

1904, The Promise of the Spirit, pr. 3. Trio Since The Incarnation of The Son
Of course, the
Holy Spirit existed from all eternity as the ONE ETERNAL SPIRIT essence of the
Father and the Son. However, Christ laid aside that Holy Spirit essence in
the heavenly sanctuary at His Incarnation. This was the life that He gave
eternally for us. This was the life that satisfied the Testator Covenant--The
Everlasting Covenant between the Son and the Father. There has always
been a heavenly trio in the sense that the Father and the Son covenanted that
to make Atonement for the sin of man, the Son would lay aside His ETERNAL
SPIRIT ESSENCE (LIFE) to take upon Himself another life form of a servant, at
which time the first life of God the Son, His Holy Ghost, would become His
successor on earth. Since the life of the Son was eternal, so was His One
Eternal Spirit, and in that sense the One Holy Spirit has been eternal and
common to both the Father and the Son, thus the Scriptures refer to the
Father's Spirit and the Son's Spirit, but they are one eternal spirit. Since
the Incarnation of the Son of God, the heavenly Trio consists of the
following order of the Godhead: ·
God the Father and His ONE ETERNAL HOLY SPIRIT ESSENCE. Hbr 9:14 "How much more shall the blood of Christ,
who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge
your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?"1Cr 6:17 But he
that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. ·
1Cr 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body,
whether [we be] Jews or Gentiles, whether [we be] bond or free; and have been
all made to drink into one Spirit. ·
Eph 2:18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the
Father. ·
Eph 4:4 [There is]
one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; ·
Jhn 4:24 God [is] a Spirit: and they that worship him must
worship [him] in spirit and in truth. ·
Jesus, the Son of God, eternally combined with humanity--Fully
Divine--Fully Human, which is the mystery part of the Godhead that we do not
understand. ·
The Holy Spirit (Ghost) which became the Son's successor when
God the Son laid aside His former life (ONE ETERNAL SPIRIT ESSENCE) at His
Incarnation, at which time that life became the successor to Christ in the
earth--the third person Holy Ghost. Scripture (Rev. 13:8),
speaks of the Lamb (Christ) as having been slain from the foundation of the
earth. This is another part of the mystery not fully understood. The ONE
ETERNAL SPIRIT ESSENCE existed eternally with the Father and the Son as their
inate substance. It was covenanted from the
foundation of the earth that the Spirit of the Son's first estate of Being would become His successor at His incarnation, when
He would lay aside that LIFE as a gift to us, and to satisfy the terms of the
Testator Covenant. Christ was given
the Holy Spirit after His Incarnation in the same way that we may receive it
now. He commended that Holy Spirit to the Father, just before He died on the
cross. He also had commended His ONE ETERNAL HOLY SPIRIT ESSENCE to the
Father, at His Incarnation death in the heavenly sanctuary. This was the
eternal death to that former existence, which satisfied the demands that the
Testator die. Sessler is NOT FULLY correct in asserting that the Holy Spirit
is not Christ and that Christ is not the Holy Spirit. If the Holy Spirit is
the impartation of the very soul of Christ, as Ellen White says, then Sessler is partly wrong. The Holy Spirit is the former
life of Christ's essence (ONE ETERNAL SPIRIT) before the Incarnation. So the
life of Jesus now is different from the life He had before the Incarnation.
They are two separate and distinct persons. But the Holy Spirit is the former
life of Jesus that He gave up (relinquished--laid aside) forever as a
regenerating gift for us. The life that WAS HIS, He died to in order to give
it to us: Incarnation --
"He (Christ) suffered the (Eternal) death which was ours, that we might
receive the (Eternal) life which WAS His." Desire of Ages,
p. 25; 1 Cor. 11:24-26, cf. John 6:53, 54, Titus 3:5, 6. Ron Beaulieu 18For through him we both have
access by one Spirit unto
the Father. Ephesians 2:18 1Cr 12:13 For by one Spirit
are we all baptized into one body, whether [we be] Jews or Gentiles, whether
[we be] bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. “To be frank, the Hebrew Scriptures do not tolerate the

That is why they have no plan of salvation. Their God cannot die, so that excludes
any need for salvation and/or cure for sin. They detest Christians primarily
because of their belief in the Holy Spirit as a separate person and the
Trinity Doctrine in particular. The only remedy for what the Islamists define
as sin is beheading, or eternal death. The Jewish plan is not much better.
They want to re-establish the sacrificing of animals for their sins. That
provides for no cure for sin. God made the Jews His first chosen people because they believed in ONE
GOD. This is ingrained in their minds to the degree of being a brainwashed
obsession; to the point that most persons of Jewish and Arab lineage, to
include Adventist Arabs and Jews, cannot wrap their heads around the
relatively simple concepts that: · Three persons to the Godhead are absolutely
essential to the plan of Salvation because the Father could not die to atone
for any breach in His law. · The Testator to the Everlasting Covenant was the
DIVINE Son of God. · No Testator entity who was less than God the Father
could atone for any breach in the Father’s Law. · Hbr 9:16 For where a testament [is], there must
also of necessity be the death of the testator. · Hbr 9:17 For a testament [is] of force after men
are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth. · Divinity cannot die. · Divinity did not die on the cross says Ellen G.
White. · The Bible Says God is a Spirit and that there is ONE
SPIRIT, the ETERNAL SPIRIT. · Any numbers of persons having that ONE ETERNAL
SPIRIT, CONSTITUTE ONE GOD. They all must be EQUAL, because they are of the
ONE ETERNAL SPIRIT ESSENCE, SUBSTANCE, NATURE. · God the Father was not the Testator because He could
not die and hold the universes together at the same time. As intelligent as
most Jews are, their theology made no provision for this fact taught by God’s
(their) Sanctuary Service. · The Son of God was the Testator. If in His Divinity,
the Testator, did not die on the cross, how was the
Testator’s Covenant ratified? · Was it “role playing” for God to be accompanied by a
Son from eternity to be the Testator, because He (Himself) could not die? · Did the Testator have to die to something for
eternity because the wages of sin (violating God’s Law) is eternal death? · Was three days and nights
death involving only the humanity of Christ, sufficient payment of the wages
of sin? Can you sin and die for only three days and nights and then be raised
to live forever? · Did Christ’s death on the cross provide a cure for

you will readily see that according to the rationalizations of the Jewish
Rabbi who writes the article that all the Jews can do is keep on sinning and
sacrificing forever, for his rationalizations provide no plan of salvation
and/or cure for sin—just sinning and sacrificing until their MESSIA comes and
places them in rulership of the world because they
believe in ONE GOD. The article does not say this in these words, but that is
the logical conclusion of the existence of only ONE PERSON to the Godhead! · What did the Jews want from Christ? They wanted to
be installed as the rulers of the world so they could be relieved of Roman
oppression and be the forever conquerors of any potential enemy. They
rejected Jesus because He said He was the “I AM,” or GOD. · Many Jews and Arabs are still rejecting Christ,
because they don’t believe He was God come in the flesh. They don’t believe
that He is equal with the Father and self-existent. · Many Adventist Arabs, Jews, and others, cannot
discern that if the Holy Spirit of the Son of God was a THIRD PERSON from
eternity, per the teaching of the Trinity Doctrine, there has been no heavenly
Sanctuary Atonement by the Testator, because the THIRD PERSON of the Godhead
resulted from the Son dying to His DIVINE ONLY nature at His Incarnation, to
be forever after combined with humanity. At His Incarnation, He divested
(emptied) His Holy Spirit HIMSELF, of the personality of His humanity, and it
became independent thereof. · "Cumbered with humanity Christ could not be in

ETERNAL HOLY SPIRIT of the Father. When He divested His humanity from His
DIVINE ONLY person, another person, A THIRD PERSON, accrued at that time. It
was an eternal “death to His former estate as being DIVINE ONLY,” that met
the prescribed limit of a sacrifice. · "The
darkness rolled away from the Saviour and from the Cross. Christ bowed His
head and died. In His Incarnation
He had reached the prescribed limit
as a sacrifice, but not as a redeemer." E.G. White Manuscript
Releases Volume Twelve, p. 409. · "The
Incarnation of Christ was an act of self-sacrifice;
His life was one of continual self-denial. The highest glory of the love of
God to man was manifested in the sacrifice of His only-begotten Son, who was
the express image of His person. This is the great mystery of godliness. It
is the privilege and the duty of every professed follower of Christ to have
the mind of Christ. Without self-denial and cross bearing we cannot be His
disciples." E.G. White, Selected

p. 185. It is interesting to me that the most militant Adventists against the
truth on the Godhead are of Jewish lineage. In their weight of evidence, in every
case I have seen, they omit the following statements by Ellen G. White: "Christ declared that after his
ascension, he would send to his church, as his crowning gift, the Comforter, who was to take his place. This Comforter is the
Holy Spirit,--the soul of his life, the efficacy of his church, the light and
life of the world. With his Spirit Christ sends a reconciling influence and a
power that takes away sin. In the gift of the Spirit [HIS LIFE--THE
SOUL OF HIS LIFE], Jesus gave to man the highest
good that heaven could bestow.... The Spirit was given as a regenerating
agency, and without this the sacrifice of Christ would have been of no
avail.... It is by the Spirit that the heart is made
pure. Through the Spirit the believer becomes a partaker of the divine
nature. Christ has given his Spirit as a divine power to overcome all
hereditary and cultivated tendencies to evil, and to impress his own
character upon the church." E.G. White, Review and Herald Articles, May 19, 1904, vol. 5, p. 42. “Christ had stooped to take upon Himself
man’s nature; He was to bear an infinite weight of woe as He should make His soul an offering for sin; yet angels desire that even in His humiliation the Son of the Highest
might appear before men with a dignity and glory befitting His character.”

pp. 313, 314. Question: If His DIVINE NATURE Holy Spirit is the
soul of His life, and He made THAT SOUL an offering for sin, how did that
occur on the cross, when all that died there was His humanity, for Ellen
White says that Divinity did not die on the cross? The Testators Testament (Covenant—last will
and Testament) demanded the death of THE TESTATOR. The Testator was the Holy
Spirit—the soul of the life of Christ prior to His Incarnation, when He was
constituted of that Holy Spirit soul ONLY. Somehow, that Holy Spirit DIVINE
SOUL had to be an offering for sin, an eternal offering for sin because there
was no eternal offering for sin on the cross EXCEPT when the Son commended
that Holy Spirit to the Father just before He died. How did the Son get the
Holy Spirit back if He divested (emptied) Himself of it at His Incarnation?
Recall that the Holy Spirit descended upon Him as a dove at His baptism. He
could have returned to that DIVINE ONLY state of being and let man go into
perdition, but He commended that Spirit to the Father, and the Father at that
time became the executor of the last will and Testament of the Testator. That
was the second death. The first was at His Incarnation in the Heavenly
Sanctuary. How could such an
atonement occur with only ONE PERSON TO THE GODHEAD. It would be
impossible because God had to be in control of the worlds. So by denying the
truth of the above scenario, many Adventist Jews and Arabs, as well as many
Adventists in general, deny the eternal heavenly Sanctuary Atonement whereby
the Son sacrificed His Holy Spirit soul of His life, by divesting the state
of living ONLY AS A DIVINE BEING, from His humanity, and bequeathing that
life (HIS DIVINE NATURE ONLY) to us as a cure for sin and for regenerating
man back into the image of God. Without that highest good, crowing gift, His
death on the cross would have been of no avail because there would have been
no cure for sin. "The Power of God in
the Third Person.--The prince of the power of evil can only be held in check
by the power of God in the third person of the Godhead, the Holy Spirit.-- Special
Testimonies, Series A, No. 10, p. 37. (1897). Bible Text Saying the Same Thing in Other Words Acts 3:26 Unto you first
God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away
every one of you from his iniquities. So we find that THREE PERSONS were absolutely essential
to the plan of salvation. But the Trinity Doctrine by-passes the crowning
sacrifice of the Son’s SOUL OF HIS LIFE, by its teaching that the Holy Spirit
always existed as a THIRD PERSON, before the sacrifice of the soul of His
life that provided for the THIRD PERSON divested from the personality of His
humanity at His Incarnation. All of the above is the Omega of Heresy or the
Omega of apostasy. In the alpha of apostasy,
Kellogg taught that the Spirit of God was in everything. That would negate
the need for the heavenly Sanctuary Atonement of the Son’s Holy Spirit (life
of His soul), because man would already have that ONE ETERNAL SPIRIT OF GOD
within himself without the sacrifice. That rendered the SANCTUARY/ATONEMENT
GONE! Sanctuary Gone Atonement Gone --
"In a representation which passed before me, I saw a certain work being done
by medical missionary workers. Our ministering brethren were looking on,
watching what was being done, but they did not seem to understand. The
foundation of our faith, which was established by so much prayer, such
earnest searching of the Scriptures, was being taken down, pillar by pillar.
Our faith was to have nothing to rest upon--the sanctuary was gone, the
atonement was gone." E.G. White, The Upward
Look, 152. That is what the SDA new movement, new organization church (1SM 204-205) has done
in the omega of apostasy of the church leaders in their adoption of the
Trinity Doctrine. It first crept in the yearbook in 1931. Then it was voted
in the General Conference World Session in 1980. THE HEAVENLY SANCTUARY
INCARNATION ATONEMENT IS GONE. When Ellen White
mentioned to Kellogg that there are THREE PERSONS TO
THE GODHEAD; that the Holy Spirit is the THIRD PERSON, he then began to teach
that rather than the Spirit of God being in everything (pantheism), it was
the Holy Spirit (third person) that was in everything. The latter was of
course as bad as the former and for the same reason. If any Spirit of God was
in EVERYTHING (pantheism) from eternity, as Kellogg reckoned, then there was
no need for the heavenly Sanctuary Incarnation sacrifice involving the Holy
Spirit soul of His life. Don’t ever forget that
Ellen White said that it was His soul that He made an offering for sin, and
that the soul of His life was His Holy Spirit. “Christ had stooped to
take upon Himself man’s nature; He was to bear an infinite weight of woe as He should make His soul an offering for sin; yet angels desire that even in His humiliation the Son of the Highest
might appear before men with a dignity and glory befitting His character.”

soul an offering for sin, and His soul was His Holy Spirit, the soul of His
life, and Divinity didn’t die on the cross, then we have a problem that is
only remedied by the presentation I give on the Godhead, which is that at His
Incarnation, the Son divested His Holy Spirit HIMSELF from the personality of
His humanity and the Holy Spirit HIMSELF became an independent THIRD PERSON. "Cumbered with humanity Christ could not be in
every place personally, therefore it was altogether for their advantage that He
should leave them to go to His Father and send the Holy Spirit to be His
successor on earth. The Holy Spirit is
Himself divested of the personality
of humanity and independent thereof. He

eternal death that was ours because of the penalty for breaching His law,
that we might receive the life which WAS HIS? "He (Christ) suffered
the death which was ours, that we might receive the life which WAS His."

6. What life of Christ suffered
eternal death? What life WAS HIS? He sacrificed living as His Holy Spirit
life of His soul ONLY to be combined with humanity forever. That is the life
that WAS HIS—His Holy Spirit Divine Nature. Dying to living that life ONLY,
He paid a forever sacrificial penalty for our sins, the wage of sin being
eternal death. The Divinity of the Testator could not die, so the Son died to
living as DIVINITY ONLY, to be forever after combined with humanity. That was
a sacrifice that we cannot fathom! What did the Son do with His
Divine Nature Holy Spirit? He bequeathed it to us as a cure for sin and for
regenerating us back into the image of God: 2Pe 1:4 Whereby are given
unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be
partakers of the divine nature,
having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. Other Statements Jewish Opposers to the Above Truths Will Not Cite
and/or Reject Ellen
White says very clearly that there are three distinct persons: "In
the first chapter of Second Peter is presented the progressive work in the
Christian life. The whole chapter is a lesson of deep importance. If man, in
acquiring the Christian graces, works on the plan of addition, God has
pledged Himself to work in his behalf upon the plan of multiplication. “Grace
and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus
our Lord.” The work is laid out before every soul that has acknowledged his
faith in Jesus Christ by baptism, and has become a receiver of the pledge
from the
three persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit" (Manuscript

3—Three Persons in the Godhead
Jesus is ETERNAL GOD “Before
Abraham was, I am.” Christ is the
pre-existent, self-existent Son of God. The message He gave to Moses to give to the
children of Israel was, “Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I
AM hath sent me unto you.” The prophet Micah writes of Him, “But thou,
Bethlehem Ephratah, tho thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out
of Thee shall He come forth unto Me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose
goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.” {ST August 29, 1900,
par. 13} "The
Lord Jesus Christ, the divine Son of God, existed from eternity,
a distinct person, yet one with the Father." {1SM 247.4} "In
speaking of His pre-existence, Christ carries the mind back through dateless ages.
He assures us that there
never was a time when He was not in close fellowship with the eternal God. He to whose voice
the Jews were then listening had
been with God as one brought up with Him."—The
Signs of the Times, August
29, 1900. {7ABC 440.4} "The
Eternal Dignitaries of the Trinity—The eternal heavenly dignitaries—God,
and Christ, and the Holy Spirit—arming them [the disciples] with more
than mortal energy, ... would advance with them to the work and convince the
world of sin."—Manuscript 145, 1901. {Ev
616.4}
On ONE GOD All
too many of God’s people don’t have spiritual discernment enough to
understand that since all three persons to the Godhead are of the same essence,
substance, nature—ONE ETERNAL SPIRIT, there is only ONE GOD. Theoretically,
if there were millions or any number of persons to the Godhead, as long as
they were all constituted of the ONE ETERNAL SPIRIT essence, substance,
nature, they would still be ONE GOD. But God is economical. All He needed to
manifest the plan of salvation, was THREE PERSONS. Some
detest the thought of three persons because Satan’s counterfeit pagan
religions have three gods. Listen friend, Satan is not stupid! He has counterfeited
everything important God has done. It would be foolish for Him to counterfeit
his pagan religions as having two or one god, WHEN THE GODHEAD OF GOD
ALMIGHTY HAS THREE PERSONS. And strangely, some Adventist Jews I know of,
admit to two God’s, God the Father and Christ, but three persons is anathema
to them! That is the epitome of antichrist belief, when it should be so
evident that three persons were absolutely essential to the plan of salvation
and the fulfillment of the Testator’s Testament (Covenant). Divinity had to
die eternally to something, and that would be impossible without the THIRD
PERSON. Think it through friend. Pray about this diligently, for any other
teaching is antichrist and will lead to the loss of salvation. The Omega
Heresy, the Omega of Apostasy, is roaring in the SDA church today! That is
why I have a lot to say on this issue, and will continue to have a lot to say
about it! Ellen White said the Omega would wax stronger until Jesus comes,
and some of its most illustrious proponents are Adventists of Jewish lineage.
