interpretations are reliable. Here are Ellen White’s comments on Ezekiel 9.
Read them for yourself and decide whether you see a separation message in
Ezekiel 9: Ellen
White’s Comments on Ezekiel 9 2-4
(Eph. 1:13; 4:30). A Mark Which Angels Read.--[Eph. 1:13 quoted.] What is the
seal of the living God, which is
placed in the foreheads of His people? It is a mark which angels, but
not human eyes, can read; for the destroying angel must see this mark of
redemption (Letter 126, 1898). {4BC 1161.4} The
angel with the writer's ink horn is to place a mark upon the foreheads of all who are separated from sin and sinners, and the destroying
angel follows this angel (Letter 12, 1886). {4BC 1161.5} We are to separate from personal sin as well as
separating from sinners and a church that sins corporately by violating God’s
commands. If this were not true, we might
have remained in the other fallen churches. (Rev. 7:2.) Seal Is a
Settling Into Truth.--Just as soon as the people of God are sealed in their foreheads--it
is not any seal or mark that can be seen, but a settling into the truth, both intellectually and spiritually, so
they cannot be moved--just as soon as
God's people are sealed and prepared for the shaking, it will come. Indeed, it has begun
already; the judgments of God are now upon the land, to give us warning, that
we may know what is coming (MS 173, 1902). {4BC 1161.6} This ends
Ellen White’s comments on Ezekiel 9 in the SDA Bible Commentary, Vol.
7a, p. 1161. The Separation Message of Ezekiel 9 and
Ezekiel 22:17-31 in the Shaking of A.D. 27-70 There can be no doubt
that A.D. 27-70 was a shaking and separation time in the church of Christ.
There can be no doubt that Ezekiel 22:17-31 tells where the dross (tares) was
shaken. Read the following verses and see if you see a separation, shaking
message in Ezekiel 22:17-31. 17And the word of the LORD came
unto me, saying, 18Son of man, the house of Israel
is to me become dross: all they are brass, and tin, and iron, and lead, in
the midst of the furnace; they are even the dross of silver. 19Therefore thus saith the Lord
GOD; Because ye are all become dross, behold, therefore I will gather you
into the midst of Jerusalem. 20As they gather silver, and brass,
and iron, and lead, and tin, into the midst of the furnace, to blow the fire
upon it, to melt it; so will I gather you in mine anger and in my fury, and I
will leave you there, and melt you. 21Yea, I will gather you, and blow
upon you in the fire of my wrath, and ye shall be melted in the midst therof.
22As silver is melted in the midst
of the furnace, so shall ye be melted in the midst thereof; and ye shall know
that I the LORD have poured out my fury upon you. 23And the word of the LORD came
unto me, saying, 24Son of man, say unto her, Thou
art the land that is not cleansed, nor rained upon in the day of indignation.
25There is a conspiracy of her
prophets in the midst thereof, like a roaring lion ravening the prey;
they have devoured souls; they have taken the treasure and precious things;
they have made her many widows in the midst thereof. 26Her priests have violated my law,
and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the
holy and profane, neither have they shewed
difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my
sabbaths, and I am profaned among them. 27Her princes in the midst thereof
are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, and to destroy souls, to
get dishonest gain. 28And her prophets have daubed them
with untempered morter, seeing vanity, and divining lies unto them, saying,
Thus saith the Lord GOD, when the LORD hath not spoken. 29The people of the land have used
oppression, and exercised robbery, and have vexed the poor and needy: yea,
they have oppressed the stranger wrongfully. 30And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap
before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none. 31Therefore have I poured out mine
indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their
own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord GOD. The
Separation Message of Jeremiah 11:9-15 Jeremiah 11:14, 15 is a clear call out
message. God said not to pray for Israel of that generation because she
conspired with His enemies. That connotes unpardonable sin. Then, in verse
15, He asks the question: What hath my beloved (bride—church) to do in mine
house (Sanctuary/Temple/Church), seeing she (the church) hath wrought
lewdness with many (fallen churches—God’s enemies), and the Holy Flesh (God)
is passed from thee? When thou doest evil, then thou rejoicest. Israel
celebrated and that is exactly what SDA’s have done. When they did evil by
conspiring and confederating with Babylon, they adopted Babylon’s celebration
mode of worship. In the separation message in Jeremiah
11:9-15, there was a conspiracy (verse 9), just as in Ezekiel 22:25. There
was a conspiracy amongst the prophets (leaders) of Israel with God’s enemies.
A synonym for confederacy is conspiracy. In Isaiah
8:9-14, God warns against a confederacy with His enemies. The SDA church has
formed a confederacy and conspiracy with Babylon. Vance Ferrell, a former credentialed SDA
minister, tells how the church is indeed joined to Babylon’s confederacy and
made a secret agreement to tone down the Sabbath and the Mark of the Beast
issues in the name of Christian unity. What good reason do we have to trust
Vance Ferrell’s statement about the church’s secret agreement with Babylon?
Vance owns and operates a multi-million dollar SDA book printing business.
Vance is a very astute business man. Do you believe Vance would jeopardize
his business in the hands of a sue-happy church by telling a lie about them? That secret agreement with Babylon means
that the three angel’s messages and the Midnight Cry of Matthew 25, which
Ellen White says gave power to the second angel’s message, have been
betrayed. Ezekiel 9 and 22 occur because of such a betrayal. See Testimonies, Vol. 5, p. 211, where it
is prophesied that the leaders would betray sacred trusts. If you will check
the margin reading for the words slaughter weapon in Ezekiel 9:2, in the KJV,
it reads: “a weapon of his
breaking in pieces. Then read Isaiah 8:9-14 where God says three times that
He will break in pieces those who confederate with His enemies. When any
church takes a course contrary to Nehemiah’s and conspires and confederates
with God’s enemies, it is time to separate, to wit: "'They that forsake
the law praise the wicked.' Proverbs 28:4. When those who are uniting with
the world, yet claiming great purity, plead for union with those who have
ever been the opposers of the cause of truth, we should fear and shun them as
decidedly as did Nehemiah. Such counsel is prompted by the enemy of all good.
It is the speech of timeservers, and should be resisted as resolutely today
as then. Whatever influence would tend to unsettle the faith of God' people
in His guiding power, should be steadfastly withstood." E.G. White, Prophets
and Kings, p. 660. The
church has praised the wicked by giving the Pope, Satan’s vicar, a gold
medallion. That is tantamount to giving Satan a gold medal. The church has
praised the wicked via George Vandeman’s book, What
I Like About…, written in praise of the fallen churches.
The
Reasons for Separation From Apostasy in Every Succeeding Generation In the following statement you will find
out the reasons why true reformers have separated from the apostate church of
their fathers in every succeeding generation: "The
Sanhedrin had rejected Christ's message and was bent upon His death therefore
Jesus departed from Jerusalem, from the priests, the temple, the religious
leaders, the people who had been instructed in the law, and turned to another
class to proclaim His message, and to gather out those who should carry the
gospel to all nations. As the light
and life of men was rejected by the ecclesiastical authorities in the days of
Christ, so it has been rejected in every succeeding generation.
Again and again the history of Christ's withdrawal from Judea has been
repeated. When the Reformers preached the word of God, they had no thought of
separating themselves from the established church but the religious leaders would not tolerate the light, and those
that bore it were forced to seek another class, who were longing for the
truth. In our day few of the professed followers of the Reformers are
actuated by their spirit. Few are
listening for the voice of God, and ready to accept truth in whatever guise
it may be presented. Often those who follow in the steps of the Reformers
are forced to turn away from the churches they love, in order to declare the plain teaching of the word of God. And
many times those who are seeking for light are by the same teaching
obliged to leave the church of their fathers, that they may render obedience."

reasons why true reformers have separated from apostate churches in every
succeeding generation. More on
the Seal of God Chap. 233 - Who Receive the Seal? And in their mouth was found no guile: for they
are without fault before the throne of God. Rev. 14:5. Only
those who receive the seal of the living God will have the passport through
the gates of the Holy City. . . . {Mar 241.1} The
seal of the living God will be placed upon those only who bear a likeness to
Christ in character. {Mar 241.2} As wax
takes the impression of the seal, so the soul is to take the impression of
the Spirit of God and retain the image of Christ. {Mar 241.3} Many
will not receive the seal of God because they do not keep His commandments or
bear the fruits of righteousness. {Mar 241.4} The great mass of professing Christians will
meet with bitter disappointment in the day of God. They have not upon their
foreheads the seal of the living God. Lukewarm and halfhearted, they dishonor
God far more than the avowed unbeliever. They grope in darkness, when they
might be walking in the noonday light of the Word, under the guidance of One
who never errs. . . . {Mar 241.5} What greater deception can come upon human minds
than a confidence that they are right when
they are all wrong! The message of the True Witness finds the
people of God in a sad deception, yet honest in that deception. They know not
that their condition is deplorable in the sight of God. While those
addressed are flattering themselves that they are in an exalted spiritual
condition, the message of the True
Witness breaks their security by the startling denunciation of their
true condition of spiritual blindness, poverty, and wretchedness. The
testimony, so cutting and severe, cannot be a mistake, for it is the True
Witness who speaks, and His testimony must be correct. {3T 252.4} "Most
startling messages will be borne by men of God's appointment, messages of a
character to WARN the people, to AROUSE them. And while some will be PROVOKED
by the warning, and led to RESIST LIGHT AND EVIDENCE, we are to see from this
that we are giving the TESTING MESSAGE FOR THIS TIME. Messages will be given OUT
OF THE USUAL ORDER." Testimonies,
vol. 9, p. 137. The most startling denunciation is regarded as being an accuser of
the brethren—undeserved, overly severe, Satanic criticism. What messages out of the usual order or from the usual order are
CAUSING the shaking? Point me to messages from folk like Ulicia Unruh and her
SDA minister husband, that are a startling denunciation of Laodiceans. Show
me a most startling message from any SDA pastor that is a startling
denunciation of Laodiceans, and I will show you a false prophet in the person
of Ellen White, because she said that the dumb-dog watchmen would NEVER
AGAIN, show the House of Jacob their sins. If there is a most startling
denunciatory message from any SDA pastor (watchman), then Ellen White would
thus be a false prophet. The only most startling and denunciatory messages TO
Laodiceans that I know of are from the true reformer camp. I’ll show you something very deceptive by the leaders of the church
and the White Estate. Ellen White said that the shaking would be caused by a
denunciatory message TO Laodiceans. Notice the following statement
that says OF the Laodiceans. It is either TO or OF, not both! What
follows is just as I cut and pasted it from the White Estate Complete
Writings of Ellen G. White: Chap. 193 - A View of the
Shaking For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely
in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel. Eze. 38:19.
I saw some, with strong
faith and agonizing cries, pleading with God. Their countenances were pale
and marked with deep anxiety, expressive of their internal struggle. Firmness
and great earnestness was expressed in their countenances; large drops of
perspiration fell from their foreheads.... {Mar 201.1} Evil angels crowded
around, pressing darkness upon them to shut out Jesus from their view, that
their eyes might be drawn to the darkness that surrounded them, and thus they
be led to distrust God and murmur against Him. Their only safety was in
keeping their eyes directed upward. Angels of God had charge over His people,
and as the poisonous atmosphere of evil angels was pressed around these
anxious ones, the heavenly angels were continually wafting their wings over
them to scatter the thick darkness. {Mar 201.2} As the praying ones
continued their earnest cries, at times a ray of light from Jesus came to
them, to encourage their hearts and light up their countenances. Some, I saw,
did not participate in this work of agonizing and pleading. They seemed indifferent and careless.... The angels of God...
went to the aid of the earnest, praying ones. . . . But His angels left those
who made no effort to help themselves, and I lost sight of them. {Mar 201.3} I asked the meaning of the
shaking I had seen and was shown that it would be caused by the straight
testimony called forth by the counsel of the True Witness of the Laodiceans. . . . {Mar
201.4} My attention was then
turned to the company I had seen, who were mightily shaken. . . . The company
of guardian angels around them had been doubled, and they were clothed with
an armor from their head to their feet. . . . {Mar 201.5} I heard those clothed with
the armor speak forth the truth with great power. It had effect....I asked
what had made this great change. An angel answered, "It is the latter
rain, the refreshing from the presence of the Lord, the loud cry of the third
angel." {Mar 201.6} There is a message TO Laodiceans by true reformers. Ellen
White says that Laodicea is the foolish virgins state of the church. How can
a message arising OF the foolish virgins reform the foolish virgins
when the presence of God is not in their midst’s? "The state of the Church represented by the foolish virgins, is
also spoken of as the Laodicean state." E.G. White, Review and
Herald, 8/19/1890. "The church is in the Laodicean state. The presence of God is not in her midst."
E.G. White, Notebook Leaflets, p. 99, 1898. "To the end of time, the
presence of the Spirit is to abide with the true church." E.G. White, Acts of the
Apostles, p. 55. “From the beginning, faithful
souls have constituted the church on earth. In every age the Lord has had His watchmen,
who have borne a faithful testimony to the generation in which they
lived. These sentinels gave the
message of warning; and when they were called to lay off their armor, others
took up the work. God brought these
witnesses into covenant relation with Himself, uniting the church on earth
with the church in heaven. He has sent
forth His angels to minister to His church, and the gates of hell have not been able to prevail against His people.” E.G. White, The Acts of
the Apostles, p. 12. The gates of hell will not prevail against faithful souls--obviously. "The members of the church triumphant--the church in
heaven--will be permitted to draw near to the members of the church militant,
to aid them in their necessity." E. G. White, The
Southern Watchman, Sep. 8, 1903. Who are the members of the church triumphant? "Characteristics of True Reformers.--Here are given the characteristics of those who
shall be reformers, who will bear the banner of the third angel's message,
those who avow themselves God's commandment-keeping people, and who honor
God, and are earnestly engaged, in the sight of all the universe, in building
up the old waste places. Who is it
that calls them, The repairers of the breach, The restorers of paths
to dwell in? It is God. Their
names are registered [written--Heb. 12:22, 23] in heaven as reformers,
restorers, as raising the foundations of many generations." E. G. White,
SDA Bible Commentary, Vol. 4, 1151. I rest my case with the
obvious evidence. There is no room for error here! There are no ellipses
here! There is no deception here! Except as perpetrated by the leaders of a
