Willie White Versus Isaiah 4:1-4 and 37:31, 32--The Lida Scott Statement

Proof Absolute (From the Scriptures) of Another Coming Out

"The Bible for Our Time.--Never are we absent from the mind of God. God is our joy and our salvation. Each of the ancient prophets spoke less for their own time than for ours, so that their prophesying is in force for us. 'Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come' (1 Cor. 10:11). 'Not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven which things the angels desire to look into' (1 Peter 1:12).'" E.G. White, Selected Messages, Bk. 3, p. 338.

     Prophets Wrote for Their Own and Our Day.—“The last books of the Old Testament show us workers taken from the laborers in the field. Others were men of high ability and extensive learning, but the Lord gave them visions and messages. These men of the Old Testament spoke of things transpiring in their day, and Daniel, Isaiah, and Ezekiel not only spoke of things that concerned them as present truth, but their sights reached down to the future, and to what should occur in these last days.”--Letter 132, 1898. {3SM 419.5, 420}

Dear Reader,

Ellen White clearly stated that the ancient prophets wrote more for us than the Jews. I pray you will take this to heart when reading this document.

Isaiah 4:1-4 mentions seven women who are doing their own thing at the end-time. The Lord teaches us all in Scripture that the word woman is a symbol of the church. Seven is God’s perfect, all-inclusive number. So seven women, all formally organized churches, will be doing their own thing at the end-time.

All Bible commentaries agree that Isaiah, Chapters 1-4 are end-time in context. Verses 1-4 in Chapter 4 read as follows:

Isaiah 4

1And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach.

2In that day shall the branch of the LORD be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and comely for them that are escaped of Israel.

3And it shall come to pass, that he that is left in Zion, and he that remaineth in Jerusalem, shall be called holy, even every one that is written among the living in Jerusalem:

4When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning.

5And the LORD will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory shall be a defence.

12 As for my people, children [babes in the truth] are their oppressors, and women [The fallen churches] rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths. Isaiah 9:12.

All formally organized churches will take hold of one man, Jesus Christ, we will eat our own bread (our own doctrines and commandments of men, and will take the name of Christ to take away our reproach.

But the branch of the Lord that is escaped of those seven women who profess to be spiritual Israel, is beautiful (see Isaiah 62:1-5).

The Lord will wash away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and will purge the blood of Jerusalem from the midsts thereof (from true Zion and true Jerusalem) by the spirit of judgment and burning.

It is from and by true Zion, the bride of Christ, Isaiah 62:1-5, that all rebels are shaken from the Kingdom of Heaven: Ezekiel 20:34-38 and Matthew 13:44 and on.

To further confirm the truth of my interpretation of the above statement, consider what happened to ancient Israel from A.D. 27 to A.D. 66, when 3 ½ years before Jerusalem was destroyed by the judgment of burning, all true Christians fled to the mountains of Pella in the land of Peraea.

“In the autumn of A.D. 66, Cestius next concentrated his entire force upon Jerusalem.  He arrived during the celebration of the Feast of Tabernacles, and although it was Sabbath, the Jews abandoned their religious rites and rushed out to attack Cestius’ troops.  To the amazement of both Romans and Jews, they broke the Roman ranks.  Indeed, Josephus declares that only a flank attack by a force of footmen and cavalry saved Cestius’ forces.  More than 500 Roman soldiers were killed whereas the Jews lost only 22 men (War ii. 198, 2 [519]).  At this point Agrippa sent an embassy to the Jews; their reaction was to attack his representatives, killing one and wounding the other.  Encouraged by a promise of the royalist party in Jerusalem to open the gates for him, Cestius then gathered his troops to a fresh assault, and penetrated as far as the north wall of the Temple.  Then an astounding thing happened: Cestius withdrew his troops, and placed himself strategically in such a poor position among the Judean hills that the Jews were able to attack him and kill more than 5,000 infantry and nearly 500 cavalry, including many officers, as well as to capture much materiel.

A Lull in the Storm.—The defeat and withdrawal of Cestius gave many of the conservative Jews a chance to flee from Jerusalem.  Some of them joined Agrippa, others sought quiet in country places, and still others left the country entirely.  It was at this time that the Christians in Jerusalem fled in accordance with the warning of Jesus recorded in Matt. 24:15-19.  According to Eusebius, the 4th-century historian, the Christians in Jerusalem had been warned by prophets before the war began that they should leave the doomed city and find refuge at Pella in Peraea.  They now took this opportunity to make good their escape (Ecclesiastical History iii. 5, 3).” SDA Bible Commentary, Vol. 5, 74, 75.

How did God wash away the filth of the daughters of Zion? He removed His true people from apostate Zion in Jerusalem.

Is there an End-time Coming Out From Modern-day Jerusalem as Well as From Babylon?

I thank and praise the Lord that you don’t have to accept my interpretation of Isaiah 4:1-4, or Willie White’s alleged statement by Ellen White to Lida Scott! Please permit God Almighty to forever settle this issue in Isaiah 37:31, 32:

31 And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall again take root downward, and bear fruit upward:

32 For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, and they that escape out of mount Zion: the zeal of the LORD of hosts shall do this.

So there is indeed a coming out of modern-day spiritual Jerusalem, as well as Babylon. Isaiah 37:31, 32, confirms my interpretation of Isaiah 4:1-4, that indeed, all formally organized churches will be doing their own thing, and a true remnant will escape them all. The true remnant will be organized under the banner of their Captain, Christ Jesus, the leader of His army of Joel 2.

If Willie White was right about Ellen White’s alleged statement to Lida Scott, that would make Ellen White contradict Isaiah 4:1-4 and even more poignantly Isaiah 37:31, 32. That would make Ellen White a false prophet of the highest order.

With the above facts of Scripture, what is the only intelligent response to the following statement by Willie White to Lida Scott? When considering your response, remember that Willie White said that "if it were left up to me, I would not send out any of Mother's Testimonies."

"I TOLD HER [MRS. LIDA SCOTT] HOW MOTHER REGARDED THE EXPERIENCE OF THE REMNANT CHURCH, AND OF HER POSITIVE TEACHING THAT GOD WOULD NOT PERMIT THIS DENOMINATION TO SO FULLY APOSTATIZE THAT THERE WOULD BE THE COMING OUT OF ANOTHER CHURCH."--W. C. White to E. E. Andross, May 23, 1915, White Estate Correspondence File. {LDE 56.4}

Facts that must be weighed concerning the above statement:

·       The statement is hearsay. It does not have the support of 2 or three witnesses as the Bible enjoins in order to be held as truth.

·       Ellen White could have meant that there would not be another church! The church that comes out is the same church. The new movement was to form “among,” within the church, Selected Messages, Bk. 1, 204-5. So it is the new movement that is another church, not those who separate to maintain the original Adventist message.

·       Ellen White said they had hoped that there would not be the need of another coming out. She may have expressed the notion that the way things looked at the time, there would be no such need. She certainly did not say that she saw that option in vision.

·       Ellen White indeed implied that there might be the need for another coming out when she said: "We hoped that there would not be the necessity of another coming out?"

·       "I was confirmed in all I had stated in Minneapolis, that a reformation must go through the churches. Reforms must be made, for spiritual weakness and blindness were upon the people who had been blessed with great light and precious opportunities and privileges. As reformers they had come out of the denominational churches, but they now act a part similar to that which the churches acted. We hoped (past tense) that there would not be the necessity for another coming out." E.G. White, The 1888 Materials, Volume 1, p. 356-7.

·       If there is another LITERAL fulfillment of Ezekiel 9, as Ellen White says there will be, then obviously there will have to be another coming out of a remnant, and that remnant is mentioned by Ezekiel in chapter 5:3, while the remainder of the church (three-thirds equalling a whole), verse 1, is destroyed. This is what happened in the first fulfillment of Ezekiel 9 in A.D. 70. There was a COMING OUT OF A REMNANT from apostate Israel. That remnant fled to the mountains of Pella, SDA Bible Commentary, Vol. 5, pp. 76-77.

·       Ellen White said that A.D. 70 Destruction of Jerusalem, (the first manifestation of Ezekiel 9) was a PREFIGURE of one that was to BEGIN AT HIS SANCTUARY, those who had been privileged with great light, Testimonies, Vol. 5, p. 211. A PREFIGURE means TYPE and a TYPE is totally safe to follow. The conflagration will Begin at His Sanctuary, Jerusalem, the professing SDA church and end with the destruction of the world. In the A.D. 70 TYPE, every faithful Christian fled the apostate Jewish church and was saved. And that was a PREFIGURE friend! So, according to Ezekiel and Ellen White, there has to be another coming out according to PREFIGURE TYPE.

·       If Willie White did indeed hear his mother tell Lida Scott that the church would never so fully apostatize that there would be another coming out of a remnant, then Ellen White would have contradicted Ezekiel, chapters five and nine. Why? How? Because Ellen White said that Ezekiel 9 would be literally fulfilled, beginning at His Sanctuary, the professing SDA church, Testimonies, Vol. 5, 211. Begin reading on page 207, where she begins the chapter by quoting Ezekiel 9. Ezekiel chapter five is just another variation on the Ezekiel 9 event, and Ezekiel 5:9, updates both chapters to an end-time application, because that is when God does the worst thing He has ever done or ever again will do, per Matthew 24:21.

·       If Ellen White meant what some interpolate into the statement, she would have directly contradicted Isaiah 4:1-4, and Isaiah 37:31, 32.

·       Ellen White merely meant that there would not be another church. The true SDA church would be preserved.

But Ellen White did not contradict Ezekiel or Isaiah. If the full weight of evidence is considered, she agreed with them both. But examine Willie White's statement carefully:

I TOLD HER [MRS. LIDA SCOTT] HOW MOTHER REGARDED THE EXPERIENCE OF THE REMNANT CHURCH, AND OF HER POSITIVE TEACHING THAT GOD WOULD NOT PERMIT THIS DENOMINATION TO SO FULLY APOSTATIZE THAT THERE WOULD BE THE COMING OUT OF ANOTHER CHURCH.--W. C. White to E. E. Andross, May 23, 1915, White Estate Correspondence File. {LDE 56.4}.

The coming out and formation of "ANOTHER CHURCH," is quite different from a remnant escaping the Omega of Apostasy New Movement church, Selected Messages, Book 1, 204-5. That is "another church" formed within. A remnant exiting that newly formed New Movement, would only be preserving the original SDA church and its foundation, and would never be considered "another church," by any reasonable person capable of rational thought. When Jesus and the disciples came out of the apostate Jewish church, they did not form another church. They preserved the original intended church prescribed for the Jews by God and His prophets. It was the apostate church that formed another church referred to by Christ by the name of The Synagogue of Satan. So it will be in the antitypical COUNTERPART to that church.

Based on the above evidence from Scripture and Ellen White, we can come to the following optional conclusions:

·       Willie White was just plain wrong.

·       Ellen White said in The Great Controversy, p. 25, (written in 1858--first edition) that the destruction of Jerusalem was a PREFIGURE. Then she said in Testimonies, Vol. 5, pp. 209-211, in 1882, (quoting Ezekiel 9 on p. 209) that God would begin at His Sanctuary, (p. 211). This demands another coming out if we are to escape another fulfillment of Ezekiel 9 in type and antitype because there was a coming out in the PREFIGURE TYPE.

·       So, as early as 1858, Ellen White had evidence that there would be another coming out as evinced in The Great Controversy, p. 25, in that the only people who could parallel that PREFIGURE of the destruction of the Jewish "chosen" church are SDA's. Then she proved that she knew that in quoting Ezekiel 9 beginning on p. 209 of Testimonies, Vol. 5, thru p. 211.

·       Leaving Ellen White out of the picture entirely, I asked God what Scripture would back Ellen White's contention that Ezekiel 9 would be LITERALLY fulfilled again. He led me to Ezekiel 5:9, which establishes end-time context for Ezekiel chapters 5 and 9, which are merely different takes on the same event. So Ezekiel prophesies another coming out of a remnant (chapter 5:1-3), regardless of what Ellen White might have said in Willie's hearing.

·       Any literal fulfillment of Ezekiel 9 and Isaiah 4:1-4; Isaiah 37:31, 32, demand another coming out from both—modern-day Jerusalem as well as Babylon.

·       Ellen White meant that there would not be the formation of another church other than the Seventh-day Adventist church. True Reformers who have separated have not forsaken the original Adventist message. It is the new movement formed “among” (within) that has formed a new church that has removed God. 1SM 204-5.

Who is modern Israel (in all these statements below) in your estimation? Is it Jerusalem? Is it Babylon? It is both professing Seventh-day Adventism and professing Christian denominations of the world.

"Study the 9th chapter of Ezekiel. These words will be literally fulfilled; yet the time is passing, and the people are asleep. They refuse to humble their souls and to be converted. Not a great while longer will the Lord bear with the people who have such great and important truths revealed to them, but who refuse to bring these truths into their individual experience. The time is short. God is calling; will YOU hear? Will YOU receive His message? Will YOU be converted before it is too late? Soon, very soon, every case will be decided for eternity. Letter 106, 1909, pp. 2, 3, 5, 7. (To "The churches in Oakland and Berkeley, September 26, 1909.)" E. G. White Manuscript Releases Volume One, p. 260.

“The time will soon come when the prophecy of Ezekiel 9 will be fulfilled; that prophecy should be carefully studied, for it will be fulfilled to the very letter.”— Ellen G. White 1888 Materials, p. 1303.

The Signs of the Times, February 12, 1880:  “The desolation of Jerusalem stands as a solemn warning before the eyes of modern Israel.”

“The desolation of Jerusalem in the days of Jeremiah is a solemn warning to modern Israel, that the counsels and admonitions given them through chosen instrumentalities cannot be disregarded with impunity.”  Prophets and Kings, 416.

The first fulfillment of Ezekiel 9, was the destruction of Jerusalem in A.D. 70. See The Great Controversy, Chapter 1, for a preview of what will take place in the next literal fulfillment only on a much greater scale.

Willie White's Credibility?

"Many times I have come to things in the Testimonies, as also in the Bible, that I do not understand, that I could not explain and harmonize...many of the testimonies I do not understand. In many cases if I were commissioned to use any discretion in the matter, I would not send them out." Willie White, Spaulding-Magan Collection, Health Research Edition, p. 469.

"There are some things in connection with the Testimonies, and the opposition to them, that have been more trials to me and in times of great perplexity--I have thrown myself on my face before God in agony of soul and said, 'O God, why didst thou choose my mother to be the instrument for this work?" Willie White, Spaulding-Magan Collection, Health Research Edition, p. 469.

One of the Biggest and Most Serious Errors Taught by the SDA New Movement Church

One of the biggest and most serious errors taught by the apostate church leadership and laity alike, is that the bad are shaken out of the SDA church militant (wheat and tare co-ed church) to leave it the purged and purified SDA church triumphant. That could not be further from Biblical truth! God says that all rebels are shaken out by His Church Triumphant who is taken to the wilderness and is brought into full covenant relationship with Him. This is exactly what transpired with God’s first chosen people from A.D. 27-A.D.70.

34 And I will bring you out from the people, and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out. 35 And I will bring you into the wilderness of the people, and there will I plead with you face to face. 36 Like as I pleaded with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so will I plead with you, saith the Lord GOD. 37 And I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant: 38 And I will purge out from among you the rebels, and them that transgress against me: I will bring them forth out of the country where they sojourn, and they shall not enter into the land of Israel: and ye shall know that I am the LORD. Ezekiel 20:34-38.

The above verses from Ezekiel 20, define true Zion, the 144,000, the bride of Christ, the church triumphant, the third angel, who selects and binds the wheat for the heavenly garner of Matthew 13:44 and on.

"I then saw the third angel.  Said my accompanying angel, 'Fearful is his work.   Awful is his mission.   He is the angel that is to SELECT THE WHEAT FROM THE TARES,  AND SEAL, OR BIND,  THE WHEAT FOR THE HEAVENLY GARNER.'   These things should engross the whole mind, the whole attention."

Third Angel—“No one hears the voice of these angels, for they are a symbol to represent the people of God who are working in harmony with the universe of heaven.  Men and women, enlightened by the Spirit of God and sanctified through the truth, proclaim the three messages in their order.”  E.G. White, Selected Messages, Bk. 2, p. 387.

The third angel, faithful men, give the shaking message, a good part of which you have just read in this document. Those who receive it will be saved. Those who reject it will be lost. That is how the BARLEY bride of Christ seals and binds the wheat for the heavenly garner. That message is not given by the leaders:

"Jesus sends HIS PEOPLE a message of warning to prepare them for his coming. To the prophet John was made known the closing work in the great plan of man's redemption. He beheld an angel flying 'in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him for the hour of his Judgment is come and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters [Rev. 14:6, 7.].

The angel represented in prophecy as delivering this message, symbolizes a class of faithful men, who, obedient to the promptings of God's Spirit and the teachings of his word, proclaim this warning to the inhabitants of earth. This message was not to be committed to the religious leaders of the people. They had failed to preserve their connection with God, and had REFUSED THE LIGHT FROM HEAVEN therefore they WERE NOT of the number described by the apostle Paul: 'But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day we are not of the night nor of darkness' [1 Thess. 5:4, 5].

The watchmen upon the walls of Zion should be the first to catch the tidings of the Saviour's advent, the first to lift their voices to proclaim him near, the first to warn the people to prepare for his coming. But they were at ease, dreaming of peace and safety, while the people were asleep in their sins. Jesus saw HIS CHURCH, like the barren fig-tree, covered with pretentious leaves, yet destitute of precious fruit. There was a boastful observance of the forms of religion, while the spirit of true humility, penitence and faith--which alone could render the service acceptable to God--was lacking. Instead of the graces of the Spirit, there were manifested pride, formalism, vainglory, selfishness, oppression. A BACKSLIDING CHURCH closed their eyes to the signs of the times. God did nor forsake them, or suffer his faithfulness to fail but they departed from him, and SEPARATED THEMSELVES from his love. As they  REFUSED TO COMPLY WITH THE CONDITIONS, his promises were NOT FULFILLED to them."  E.G. White, The Spirit of Prophecy,  vol. 4, pp. 199-200, which is the original 1884 edition of The Great Controversy.

I say again: 12 As for my people, children [babes in the truth] are their oppressors, and women [The fallen churches] rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths. Isaiah 9:12.

Need I say more?! A word to the wise is sufficient. May God’s presence accompany the enlightening of His people in warning them from the deceptions of their leaders.

Remember: Ezekiel 5:1-3 supports another coming out of a remnant as well. Then the THREE-THIRDS of the church that is left is destroyed. What could be plainer?! Ezekiel 5 is just another description of Ezekiel 9.
