A Brief Statement of the Beliefs of True Reformers

"Characteristics of True Reformers.—Here are given the characteristics of those who shall be reformers, who will bear the banner of the third angel's message, those who avow themselves God's commandment-keeping people, and who honor God, and are earnestly engaged, in the sight of all the universe, in building up the old waste places. Who is it that calls them, The repairers of the breach, The restorers of paths to dwell in? It is God. Their names are registered [written--Heb. 12:22, 23] in heaven as reformers, restorers, as raising the foundations of many generations." E. G. White, SDA Bible Commentary, Vol. 4, 1151.

     It is no argument against the truth that there are few who are willing to accept it. Few accepted the world's Redeemer. Though the multitude flocked around him, eager to receive temporal blessings, yet he sadly declared: "Ye will not come to me that ye might have life." Men are now no more favorable to practical godliness; they are just as intently seeking earthly good, to the neglect of eternal riches. And reformers of the present day will meet with the same discouragements as did their Master. {ST, January 28, 1886 par. 3}

"When new light is presented to the church, it is perilous to shut yourselves away from it. Refusing to hear because you are prejudiced against the message or the messenger will not make your case excusable before God. To condemn that which you have not heard and do not understand will not exalt your wisdom in the eyes of those who are candid in their investigations of truth. And to speak with contempt of those whom God has sent with a message of truth, is folly and madness.”--Counsels on Sabbath School Work, pp. 32, 33. (1892.) {CW 51.1}

We say this is a brief statement of beliefs because it would take a 500 page book to enumerate all the abominations of the Omega Heresies perpetrated by new movement, new organization Adventism, masquerading as the true Seventh-day Adventist church. Indeed, that is what Dr. Colin Standish and his brother Dr. Russell Standish have done. They have written a book that should be read by every true reformer. The book is entitled: Half A Century Of Apostasy: The New Theology's Grim Harvest 1956-2006 By Russell R & Colin D Standish

The Word of God—a thus saith the Lord, for the Beliefs and Claims of True Reformers is as Follows

I am presenting what God has shown me true reformers will believe. I am not giving my own personal opinion. By true reformers I mean true Zion, the 144,000, the bride of Christ. Isaiah 62:1-5, and Revelation 14:1-4, who is without guile and without fault.

1.— True reformers believe that we are saved by the merits of Christ’s Atoning act of self-sacrificing love in giving His giving us His Divine Nature life and dying for our sins. We believe His character of love was displayed in His self-sacrificial Incarnation Atonement in the heavenly Sanctuary and on the cross. We believe that greatest part of the merit of His sacrifice was the gift of His life that we might thereby overcome and be regenerated into His image. We believe that we were redeemed from our sins on the cross by Christ taking those sins upon Himself.

 "The darkness rolled away from the Saviour and from the Cross. Christ bowed His head and died. In His Incarnation He had reached the prescribed limit as a sacrifice, but not as a redeemer." E.G. White Manuscript Releases Volume Twelve, p. 409.

"And what was done in type in the ministration of the earthly sanctuary is done in reality in the ministration of the heavenly Sanctuary." E.G. White, The Great Controversy, p. 420.

"The Incarnation of Christ was an act of self-sacrifice." E.G. White, Selected Messages, vol. 2, p. 186.

We believe that the way in which Christ met the prescribed limit as a sacrifice in His Incarnation, BEFORE the cross, which was death of the Testator, is of great consequence and is not recognized by mainstream Christianity. We believe the Trinity Doctrine subterfuges that sacrifice made before the cross by teaching that His Holy Spirit existed as a distinct and separate person from His Being before His Incarnation. If that is so, there was no eternal death in payment of the wages of our sin, which is eternal death.

By denying the fulfillment of the Testator’s Covenant—eternal death of the Testator to His former life, BEFORE THE CROSS, the Trinity Doctrine denies the Atonement and the Sanctuary message. Without the eternal death to the Son’s DIVINE ONLY existence, there was no atonement, and if the Holy Spirit existed forever as a separate and distinct person from the Son, He made no Incarnation sacrifice in the Sanctuary BEFORE the cross, thus reaching “the prescribed limit as a sacrifice.” That would preclude the Sanctuary Service in Heaven. Thus, by the Trinity Doctrine, as adopted by the professing SDA church in the 1930’s, the Atonement and the Sanctuary are rendered GONE, and that is what Ellen White saw as part of the Alpha and Omega Heresy:

Sanctuary Gone Atonement Gone -- "In a representation which passed before me, I saw a certain work being done by medical missionary workers. Our ministering brethren were looking on, watching what was being done, but they did not seem to understand. The foundation of our faith, which was established by so much prayer, such earnest searching of the Scriptures, was being taken down, pillar by pillar. Our faith was to have nothing to rest upon--the sanctuary was gone, the atonement was gone." E.G. White, The Upward Look, 152.

Thus, true reformers believe that the Omega Heresy began in the early 1930’s and has progressed ever since, with a major boon occurring in 1956-7, via the SDA/Evangelical Conferences, whereby SDA proceeded to annihilate pillar doctrines which would by that act alone render the Atonement and the Sanctuary GONE. The book Questions on Doctrine, stated that the Atonement was completed on the cross and that Jesus did not enter heaven to do anything more. That would render the Atonement and the Sanctuary Service as GONE, because the Sanctuary Service was not completed at the sacrifice in the court of the Temple. On the annual Day of Atonement, the High Priest had to take the blood of the sacrifice into the Temple and cleanse it of all sin. The Sanctuary was not cleansed of all sin at the cross because folk are still sinning and Christ has not left the Sanctuary. Sin is still entering the Sanctuary.

"But through the power of the incarnation of Christ, God manifest in the flesh, the strength of God is revealed in gentleness and beauty. To 'as many as received him, to them gave he POWER to become the sons of God.' By this POWER we may OVERCOME OUR EVIL TENDENCIES and so modify our imperfect dispositions that the will of God may be fulfilled in us."--Letter 79, May 7, 1903, to J.A. Burden and wife. The Upward Look, 141.

True reformers believe in the on-going Atoning work of Jesus Christ in the Sanctuary of Heaven. We believe that  Christ’s work in the Sanctuary for our regeneration and overcoming is just as essential as was His death on the cross—the former being a cure for sin—the latter being our redemption from sin by Christ taking our sins upon Himself and dying the second death to his former Being of DIVINE ONLY Spirit—substance. We believe that the Sacrifice of the Incarnation in the Sanctuary of heaven met the prescribed limit of the Testator’s Covenant—death of the Testator by an eternal death sacrifice of the Son of God to His former DIVINE ONLY life. We believe that eternal death was eternally sealed by Christ’s second death on the cross, so that He could never again return to His former DIVINE ONLY state of Being. We believe that Christ sacrificed that former Divine Nature for us. We believe that Divine Nature (2 Peter 1:4) is the Holy Spirit, the soul of His former life and that He took the life that WAS ours that we might have the life that WAS His.

"He (Christ) suffered the death which was ours, that we might receive the life which WAS His." Desire of Ages, p. 25 1 Cor. 11:24-265, cf. John 6:53, 54, Titus 3:5, 6.

We believe in Scripture’s teaching that God is a Spirit and in three distinct persons of the Godhead. We believe they all were eternal:

·        The Eternal Father and His Holy Spirit essence and substance. Scripture says God is a Spirit.

·        The Eternal Son in a new sense—combined with humanity forevermore. All three of these dignities had existence in eternity.

·        The Eternal Divine Nature Holy Spirit of the Son of God which He bequeathed to us at His Incarnation in the Heavenly Sanctuary, and to be given us after Christ returned to the Father.

We believe Ellen White’s definition of the Holy Spirit as being the soul of Christ’s former life, His Holy Spirit, which He would send to His church as His crowning gift—His “highest good” that heaven could bestow. We believe that the Trinity doctrine, which Catholics boast as being their “Central Doctrine,” is in antipathy to everything we believe about the Godhead. We believe the Trinity Doctrine is antichrist by it’s denial of the very process of Atonement we describe and in Ellen White’s definition below, which demands our description or interpretation.

Thus, we believe that the professing Seventh-day Adventist church has adopted an antichrist doctrine on the Godhead, since the early 1930. That doctrine was adopted for the church by a few men. It was never taken to the church body in General Conference Session for a vote. That constituted a few men speaking for the entire body. Ellen White said that when a few men speak for the whole church, the General Conference is no longer the voice of God to the church. That antichrist apostasy, which effectually removed God, took place in the early 1930’s.

We believe that Ellen White’s following interpretation of the Holy Spirit, demands the interpretation we have made above. We believe that a few SDA leaders adopted Babylon’s concept of the Godhead to be accepted by Babylon.

"Christ declared that after his ascension, he would send to his church, as his crowning gift, the Comforter, who was to take his place. This Comforter is the Holy Spirit,--the soul of his life, the efficacy of his church, the light and life of the world. With his Spirit Christ sends a reconciling influence and a power that takes away sin.

In the gift of the Spirit [HIS LIFE--THE SOUL OF HIS LIFE], Jesus gave to man the highest good that heaven could bestow....

The Spirit was given as a regenerating agency, and without this the sacrifice of Christ would have been of no avail....

It is by the Spirit that the heart is made pure. Through the Spirit the

believer becomes a partaker of the divine nature. Christ has given his Spirit as a divine power to overcome all hereditary and cultivated tendencies to evil, and to impress his own character upon the church." E.G. White, Review and Herald Articles, May 19, 1904, vol. 5, p. 42.

We believe that to be accepted by Babylon, is tantamount to being accepted by the world, because Ellen White said that the fallen churches cannot be distinguished from the world, Early Writings, p. 273. We believe that the church adopted Babylon’s Trinity Doctrine, the Central Doctrine of Rome, to be friends with the world, and thus married the church to the world. We believe God’s Word that whosoever will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. Thus, we believe the SDA church initiated the move to become a new movement in circa 1930, and has pursued that path to the world in lieu of the heavenly path of the Midnight Cry of Matthew 25, and the second angel’s message.

Jam 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

2.— True reformers believe that the path to the world and effective marriage of the church to the world was further facilitated in the 1930’s by the church’s adoption of the worlds Accreditation Standards for Education, whereby the church must teach the curriculum of the world. We can think of no better way for Satan to marry the youth to the world, and we believe this is one reason why our youth are leaving the church in droves.

We believe that the blueprint for education was to teach the youth to do missionary work. We believe that blueprint has been totally thwarted by the adoption of the world’s agenda—thus the worldliness of the entire church, let alone the youth. The pursuit of education has been used for and motivated by a love of mammon in lieu of love for Christ and our commission to the world. Out of the heart (mind) come the issues of life, and we become whatever our goals and objectives are. We have sought the world instead of heaven. We are reaping the harvest even now, but the real loss is yet to come—loss of eternal life.

We believe that all of the above has contributed to the inception and continuum of the church being in the Laodicean state. We believe Ellen White’s statement that a continuance in the Laodicean state is tantamount to being a part of Babylon. We believe Ellen White’s statement that era of Laodicea is the foolish virgins state of the church, and that the foolish virgins are not saved. We believe Ellen White’s statement that Laodicean foolish virgins think they are rich and increased with goods and are confident that they are right when they are really all wrong.

 "The state of the Church represented by the foolish virgins, is also spoken of as the Laodicean state." E. G. White,  Review and Herald Articles,  Vol. 2, 420, 8/19/1890.

“The Testimony For The Church—The Laodicean Church—What greater deception can come upon human minds than a confidence that they are right when they are ALL WRONG?”  Testimonies, Vol. 3, pp. 253, 254.

"If the church of God becomes LUKEWARM [LAODICEAN] it does not stand in favor with God any more than do the churches that are represented as having fallen and become the habitation of devils and the hold of every foul spirit and the cage of every unclean and hateful bird.  Those who have had opportunities to hear and receive the truth, and who have united with the Seventh-day Adventist church, calling themselves the commandment keeping people of God, and yet possess no more vitality and consecration to God than do the nominal churches, will receive of the plagues of God just as verily as the churches who oppose the law of God." E.G. White, Letter 35, 1898.

3.— True reformers believe that Ellen White reapplies Matthew 22:1-10, to the end-time, Sermons and Talks, Vol. 1, pp. 4-9. We believe that Matthew 22:7 is obviously the same event as Ezekiel 9:6 in type and antitypical fulfillment.

4.— True reformers believe Ellen White's statement in chapter 1, Great Controversy, p. 25, that the destruction of apostate Jerusalem in A.D. 70, was “a PREFIGURE” of the general destruction of the world, but that it all begins at spiritual Jerusalem, the apostate, professing SDA new movement, new organization church, Selected Messages, Bk. 1, 204-5.

We believe that Ezekiel 9 was fulfilled in A.D. 27-70. We know that the SDA Bible Commentary is irrefutably errant as to the time and place Ezekiel 9 was fulfilled. It says that the sieges by Nebuchadnezzar fulfilled Ezekiel 9. That is not true. God allowed Nebuchadnezzar to take Israel as captives on three different occasions as a remedial judgment, and Nebuchadnezzar never made any wholesale slaughter of men, maidens and little children at the Sanctuary in Jerusalem to fulfill Ezekiel 9:6. That slaughter was perpetrated by Titus, the Roman General in A.D. 70.

This is historic fact and it is regarded by true reformers as an abomination that SDA leaders would confound the truth involved with such an important PREFIGURE issue.  Ellen White said that Ezekiel 9 would be literally fulfilled again, so that means we can look to the last literal fulfillment as a type, a prefigure, and that is exactly what Ellen White called the destruction of Jerusalem in A.D. 70, Great Controversy, p. 25, BEGINNING AT HIS SANCTUARY, Testimonies, Vol. 5, 211, and Ezekiel 9:6

5.— True reformers believe that the SDA new movement church has violated the Midnight Cry light of Matthew 25, which Ellen White said gave power to the second angel’s message in 1844. The church has done this by ecumenical liaison with Babylon, for many decades now. True reformers believe that this violation of the Midnight Cry and the second angel’s message to come out of Babylon, is unpardonable sin, and for good reason. At least five SDA leaders with their doctorate in theology, have stated that the professing new movement church has indeed committed unpardonable sin apostasy. Those leaders are:

·        Dr. Paul Tulla

·        The late Dr. Ralph Larson

·        Dr. John Grossboll

·        Dr. Russell Standish

·        Dr. Colin Standish

All of the above men were relieved of their credentials for standing up for the truth and warning God’s people of the apostasy for which they will receive a literal fulfillment of Ezekiel 9, to wit:

"Study the 9th chapter of Ezekiel. These words will be literally fulfilled yet the time is passing, and the people are asleep. They refuse to humble their souls and to be converted. Not a great while longer will the Lord bear with the people who have such great and important truths revealed to them, but who refuse to bring these truths into their individual experience. The time is short. God is calling will YOU hear? Will YOU receive His message? Will YOU be converted before it is too late? Soon, very soon, every case will be decided for eternity. Letter 106, 1909, pp. 2, 3, 5, 7. (To "The churches in Oakland and Berkeley, September 26, 1909.)" E. G. White Manuscript Releases Volume One, p. 260.

Begin at My Sanctuary -- "Here we see that the church--the Lord's sanctuary--was the first to feel the stroke of the wrath of God. The ancient men, those to whom God had given great light and who had stood as guardians of the spiritual interests of the people, had betrayed their trust. They had taken the position that we need not look for miracles and the marked manifestation of God's power as in former days. Times have changed. These words strengthen their unbelief, and they say: The Lord will not do good, neither will He do evil. He is too merciful to visit His people in judgment. Thus 'Peace and safety" is the cry from men who will never again lift up their voice like a trumpet to show God's people their transgressions and the house of Jacob their sins. These dumb dogs that would not bark are the ones who feel the just vengeance of an offended God. Men, maidens, and little children all perish together." E. G. White, Testimonies, Vol. 5, 211.

We believe Dr. Ralph Larson and Dr. John Grosboll’s document entitled: None Dare Call it Apostasy, in which they say that the church has committed upardonable sin. Here is the link to that article:

God is removing the true ministers just as Ellen White predicted He would if the church continued in doubts and unbelief.

"Many will stand in our pulpits with the torch of false prophecy in their hands, kindled from the hellish torch of Satan.  If doubts and unbelief are cherished, the faithful ministers will be removed from the people who think they know so much." TM 409,410

"Those who have not been in the habit of searching the Bible for themselves, or weighing evidence, have confidence in the leading men and accept the decisions they make and thus many will reject the very messages God sends to His people if these leading brethren do not accept them." TM pp 106, 107.

The founder of the Jesuits, Saint Ignatius, promoted several methods for controlling the people.  First, the laity must obey the hierarchical church (conference leaders) and surrender their private judgment. In other words, you cannot think for yourself, but you must follow the commandments of the leadership.  Second, if the hierarchical church tells you black is white, then you must believe them.  This is the Catholic philosophy, to submit to the order of the church.  One example of this would be the conference church manual which is placed above the Bible.  If you violate the conference church manual, and not the Bible, you may be disfellowshiped.

SDA church leaders have followed the lead of the Jesuits by stating that member of the church must yield to the judgment of the leaders no matter what they do, in order to maintain unity at any cost. Notice:

“It is our responsibility to study the Scriptures for ourselves, to ask for the guidance of the Holy Spirit, to submit our understanding to those in the church who are able to judge our findings, and then to abide by the decisions of the church in order to maintain the unity of the church.” Adult Sabbath School Lesson Quarterly, January, February, March, issue, 1987.

The above statement runs counter to Ellen White’s counsel:

"Those who have not been in the habit of searching the Bible for themselves, or weighing evidence, have confidence in the leading men and accept the decisions they make and thus many will reject the very messages God sends to His people if these leading brethren do not accept them." TM pp. 106, 107.

For example, in the SDA Bible Commentary fiasco on Ezekiel 9, they are dead wrong! Should we follow them anyway? And if they are wrong on such an important issues as the Sealing chapter in God’s Word, what else are they wrong on?!

6.— True reformers believe that all Ellen White's statements as to what would constitute the church as the cage of every unclean and hateful bird, language strictly reserved to define Babylon in Revelation 18, have been fulfilled to the letter. Here are some of those statements:

Ellen White on Babylon Ellen White Babylon Statements

If I can produce one statement by Ellen White that says the church could become Babylon, you are wrong in your interpretation of other statements you use to say it will never happen! Here is more than one such statement that the church could become part of Babylon:

 "The world must not be introduced into the church, and married to the church, forming a bond of unity. Through this means the church will become indeed corrupt, and as stated in Revelation, 'a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.'" Testimonies to Ministers, p. 265.

The church was married to the world in the early 1930's when a few leaders adopted the world's Accreditation Standards for our educational facilities. Satan could have no finer track to the youth of the church than through the world's education curriculum.

Did the church become Laodicean? Has the church remained Laodicean? No! It has become both COLD APOSTATE AND LUKEWARM. The liberals are cold apostate, and the conservatives are lukewarm.

If Laodicea is not regarded with any more favor by God than the fallen churches, and the call of Laodicea is to all churches, then there is no difference between Laodicea and the fallen churches as far as being in a fallen state is concerned. Different churches believe different aspects of Babylonian teachings, but Ellen White equates them all as far as falling from the favor of God is concerned, and as far as constituting the habitation of devils and the hold of every foul spirit and the cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

"We must as a people arouse and cleanse the camp of Israel. Licentiousness, unlawful intimacy, and unholy practices are coming in among us in a large degree...We are in danger of becoming a sister to fallen Babylon, of allowing our churches to become corrupted and filled with every foul spirit, a cage for every unclean and hateful bird, and will we be clear unless we make decided movements to cure the existing evil? E. G. White, Manuscript Releases No. 449, pp. 17, 18. (Letter 51, 1886 to Elder Butler) Testimonies on Sexual Behavior, Adultery, and Divorce, p. 193.

The high divorce rate in the new movement church attests that the licentiousness, unlawful intimacy has not been curbed. The unholy practices that were coming in “in a large degree” in Ellen White’s day, have only multiplied exponentially.

"In the balances of the sanctuary the Seventh-day Adventist church is to be weighed. She will be judged by the privileges and advantages that she has had. . . .I saw our Instructor pointing to the garments of so-called righteousness. Stripping them of, He laid bare he defilement beneath. Then He said to me: 'Can you not see how they have pretentiously covered up their defilement and rottenness of character? How is the faithful city become an harlot?" E. G. White, Testimonies, Vol. 8, pp. 247-250.

Can anyone tell me when the church reformed and revived from it's harlot stance?

"The church cannot measure herself by the world nor by the opinion of men nor by what she ONCE was. Her faith and her position in the world as they NOW ARE must be COMPARED (JUDGED) with what they would have been if her course had been continually onward and upward. The church will be weighed in the balances of the sanctuary. If her moral character and spiritual state do not correspond with the benefits and blessings God has conferred upon her, SHE WILL BE FOUND WANTING." Testimonies, vol. 5, pp. 83, 84.

"When this church is weighed in the balances of the sanctuary, it is found wanting, having left its first love....What is the fatal deficiency?--'Thou has left thy first love...'

The light that gladdened your heart when you first understood the message for this time is an essential element in your experience and labors, and this has been lost out of your heart and life. Christ beholds your lack of zeal, and declares that you have FALLEN, and are in a perilous position." E.G. White, Review and Herald, vol. 2, pp. 462-3.

"The enemy of souls has sought to bring in the supposition that a great reformation was to take place among Seventh-day Adventists, and that this reformation would consist in giving up the doctrines which stand as the pillars of our faith, and engaging in a process of reorganization. Were this reformation to take place, what would result? The principles of truth that God in His wisdom has given to the remnant church, would be discarded. Our religion would be changed. The fundamental principles that have sustained the work for the last fifty years would be accounted as error. A NEW ORGANIZATION would be established. Books of a NEW ORDER would be written. A system of intellectual philosophy would be introduced. The founders of this system would go into the cities, and do a wonderful work. The Sabbath of course, would be lightly regarded, as also the God who created it. Nothing would be allowed to stand in the way of the NEW MOVEMENT. The leaders would teach that virtue is better than vice, but GOD BEING REMOVED, they would place their dependence on human power, which, without God, is worthless. Their foundation would be built on the sand, and storm and tempest would sweep away the structure.

Who has authority to begin such a [NEW] movement? We have our Bibles, we have our experience, attested to by the miraculous working of the Holy Spirit. We have a truth that admits of no compromise. Shall we not repudiate everything that is not in harmony with this truth? E.G. White, Selected Messages, Vol. 1, 204, 205.

"The things you have described as taking place in Indiana, the Lord has shown me would take place just before the close of probation. Every uncouth thing will be demonstrated. There will be shouting, with drums, music, and dancing. The senses of rational beings will become so confused that they cannot be trusted to make right decisions. And this is called the moving of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit never reveals itself in such methods, in such a bedlam of noise. This is an invention of Satan to cover up his ingenious methods for making of none effect the pure, sincere, elevating, ennobling, sanctifying truth for this time. Better never have the worship of God blended with music than to use musical instruments to do the work which last January was represented to me would be brought into our camp meetings. The truth for this time needs nothing of this kind in its work of converting souls. A bedlam of noise shocks the senses and pervert that which if conducted aright might be a blessing. The powers of satanic agencies blend with the din and noise, to have a carnival, and this is termed the Holy Spirits working." Selected Messages, Vol. 2, p. 36.

 "I saw the nominal church and nominal Adventists, like Judas, would betray us to the Catholics to obtain their influence to come against the truth. The saints then will be an obscure [hidden] people, little known to the Catholics but the churches and nominal Adventists who know of our faith and customs (for they hate us on account of the Sabbath, for they could not refute it) will betray the saints and report them to the Catholics as those who disregard the institutions of the people that is, that they keep the Sabbath and disregard Sunday.

Then the Catholics bid the Protestants to go forward, and issue a decree that all who will not observe the first day of the week, instead of the seventh day, shall be slain. And the Catholics, whose numbers are large, will stand by the Protestants. The Catholics will give their power to the image of the beast. And the Protestants will work as their mother worked before them to destroy the saints. But before their decree bring or bear fruit, the saints will be delivered by the Voice of God. Then I saw that Jesus' work in the sanctuary will soon be finished. And after His work there is finished, He will come to the door of the first apartment, and confess the sins of Israel upon the head of the Scape Goat. Then He will put on the garments of vengeance. Then the plagues will come upon the wicked, and they do not come till Jesus puts on that garment, and takes Hs place upon the great white cloud. Then while the plagues are falling, the Scape Goat is being led away. He makes a mighty struggle to escape, but he is held fast by the hand that leads him. If he should effect his escape, Israel would lose their lives. I saw that it would take time to lead away the Scape Goat into the land of forgetfulness after the sins were put on his head.

The great white cloud I saw was not the holy place, but entirely separate from the holy and most holy place, entirely separate from the sanctuary.

Then the angel repeated these words, and said, 'This is the time spoken of in Isaiah. He saw that there was not man, and wondered that there was no intercessor. He had no mediator between God and man, and these plagues could be withheld no longer, for Jesus had ceased to plead for Israel, and they were covered with the covering of the Almighty God, and they could live in the sight of a holy God, and those who were not covered, the plagues fell upon them, for they had nothing to shelter or protect them from the wrath of God." E.G. White, Dorchester, Maine, October 23, 1850, Spalding--Magan's Unpublished Mss. Testimonies, pp. 1, 2.

7.— True reformers believe that the new movement SDA church has committed the following abominations for which all MEMBERS are corporately responsible:

"The plain straight testimony must live in the church, or the curse of God will rest upon His people as surely as it did upon ancient Israel because of their sins. God holds His people, as a body [corporately], responsible for the sins existing in individuals among them." Testimonies, vol. 3, p. 269.

Isaiah 8:9-13, as related to Ezekiel 9:2, wherein the marginal reading for the words slaughter weapon is "a weapon of his breaking in pieces. This co-relates with Isaiah 8:9-13 and the church’s ecumenical MEMBERSHIP in Babylon’s Associations, Councils, Counsels, Girdings, and Confederacies, cf. Jeremiah 11:9-15.

Isaiah 9:16 is such a warning, yet God’s people won’t believe Him!

    “No superiority of rank, dignity, or worldly wisdom, no position in sacred office, will preserve men from sacrificing principle when left to their own deceitful hearts. Those who have been regarded as worthy and righteous prove to be ring-leaders in apostasy and examples in indifference and in the abuse of God's mercies. Their wicked course He will tolerate no longer, and in His wrath He deals with them without mercy. {5T 212.1}

Isaiah 1:21 How is the faithful city become an harlot! it was full of judgment; righteousness lodged in it; but now murderers” applied to the SDA church, Testimonies, Vol. 8, p. 250 and her calling the church a harlot on three other occasions:

https://omega77.tripod.com/harlotstat1.htm

Jeremiah 11:9-15, where Israel did what SDA’s have done and Jeremiah was told not to pray for her, signifying that conspiracy with God’s enemies constitutes unpardonable sin.

The Celebration Movement wherein at SDA campmeetings in the Youth Services there has been every uncouth thing brought in such as loud music, drums and shouting. I have a video of the entire thing which I will give to anyone who requests it.  This was prophesied by Ellen White to occur just before the close of probation.

The sell-out of the Sanctuary and the atonement in 1956-7 via the Evangelical/SDA Conferences. M.L. Andreasen, our best theologian at the time said it was the Omega Heresy and Ellen White prophesied that the Atonement and the Sanctuary would be GONE.

1 Selected Messages, 204-5, specifying what would have taken place in the Alpha if it had not been MET, and what would take place in the omega because nothing would be allowed to stand in its way—it would “wax stronger” until Jesus comes.

Testimonies, Vol. 5, 211, where Ellen White said that the watchmen of the House of Jacob would NEVER AGAIN show the House of Jacob its sins. How could the church reform if it was NEVER AGAIN SHOWN ITS SINS?

See Desire of Ages 232, and the example of Jesus in the PREFIGURE of A.D. 27-70.

 "Christ was a protestant...The Reformers date back to Christ and the apostles. They came out and separated themselves from a religion of forms and ceremonies. Luther and his followers did not invent the reformed religion. They simply accepted it as presented by Christ and the apostles." E.G. White, Review and Herald, vol. 2, 48, col. 2. Cf. DA 232.

Omega of Apostasy to continue till Jesus comes said Ellen White:

Wax stronger "One thing it is certain is soon to be realized, the great apostasy, which is developing and increasing and waxing stronger, and will continue to do so until the Lord shall descend from heaven with a shout. We are to hold fast the first principles of our denominated faith, and go forward from strength to increased faith. Ever we are to keep the faith that has been substantiated by the Holy Spirit of God from the earlier events of our experience until the present time. We need now larger breadth, and deeper, more earnest, unwavering faith in the leadings of the Holy Spirit. If we needed the manifest proof of the Holy Spirit's power to confirm truth in the beginning, after the passing of the time, we need to-day all the evidence in the confirmation of the truth, when souls are departing from the faith and giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. There must not be any languishing of soul now." (E.G. White, Special Testimonies, Series B, No. 7, p. 57).

The entire context of the above quote involves the Alpha and Omega heresies.

Testimonies, Vol. 5, The Seal of God chapter, p. 207 and on where Ellen White says that the church will be doing after the manner of the world when its danger and depression are greatest.

"The leaven if godliness has not entirely lost its power. At the time when the danger and depression of the church are greatest, the little company who are standing in the light will be sighing and crying for the abominations that are done in the land. But MORE ESPECIALLY will their prayers arise in behalf of the church because ITS MEMBERS are doing after the manner of the world." Testimonies, vol. 5, 209, 210.

Ellen White's statement that Seventh-day Adventists will be brought down to hell:

    Of those who boast of their light and yet fail to walk in it Christ says, "But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment than for you. And thou, Capernaum [Seventh-day Adventists, who have had great light], which art exalted unto heaven [in point of privilege], shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works which have been done in thee had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day."--RH Aug. 1, 1893. [THE BRACKETED PORTIONS ARE BY ELLEN WHITE. We have added nothing to the statement.

Ellen White saw the possibility of another coming out:

   I was confirmed in all I had stated in Minneapolis, that a reformation must go through the churches. Reforms must be made, for spiritual weakness and blindness were upon the people who had been blessed with great light and precious opportunities and privileges. As reformers they had come out of the denominational churches, but they now act a part similar to that which the churches acted. We hoped that there would not be the necessity for another coming out. While we will endeavor to keep the "unity of the Spirit" in the bonds of peace, we will not with pen or voice cease to protest against bigotry.--EGW '88 356, 357 (1889). {LDE 48.1}

SDA leaders say the above statement was the only one Ellen White ever made showing a loss of confidence in the church. That is a lie. Take a look at these:

Word to the Little Flock, p. 14 statement saying it is impossible to get back on the path if one knowingly wanders off the Midnight Cry lighted pathway which in actuality is violation of both the Midnight Cry and the second angel’s message to come out of Babylon and stay out:

 "While praying at the family altar, the Holy Ghost fell on me, and I seemed to be rising higher and higher, far above the dark world. I turned to look for the Advent people in the world, but could not find them--when a voice said to me, 'Look again, and look a little higher.' At this I raised my eyes and saw a straight and narrow path cast up high above the world. On this path the Advent people were traveling to the City, which was at the farther end of the path. They had a bright light set up behind them at the first end of the path, which an angel told me was the Midnight Cry. This light shone all along the path, and gave light for their feet so they might not stumble. And if they kept their eyes fixed on Jesus, who was just before them, leading them to the City, they were safe. But soon some grew weary, and they said the City was a great way of, and they expected to have entered it before. Then Jesus would encourage them by raising his glorious right arm, and from his arm came a glorious light which waved over the Advent band, and they shouted Hallelujah! Others rashly denied the light behind them, and said that it was not God that had led them out so far. The light behind them went out leaving their feet in perfect darkness, and they stumbled and got their eyes off the mark and lost sight of Jesus, and fell off the path down in the dark and wicked world below. It was just as impossible for them to get on the path again and go to the City, as all the wicked world which God had rejected. They fell all the way along the path one after another, until we heard the voice of God like many waters, which gave us the day and hour of Jesus' coming....

By this time the 144,000 were all sealed and perfectly united. On their foreheads was written, God, New Jerusalem, and a glorious Star containing Jesus' new name." E.G. White, Word to the Little Flock, p. 14.

Ellen White's statement that all the ancient prophets wrote more for us than the Jews:

"The Bible Prophets Wrote for Our Time.--Never are we absent from the mind of God. God is our joy and our salvation. Each of the ancient prophets spoke less for their own time than for ours, so that their prophesying is in force for us. 'Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come' (1 Cor. 10:11). 'Not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven which things the angels desire to look into' (1 Peter 1:12).'" E.G. White, Selected Messages, vol. 3, p. 338.

Ellen White's statements that we are EXACTLY repeating the history of the Jews.

“The prophets of God were hated by apostate Israel because through them their hidden sins were brought to light. Ahab regarded Elijah as his enemy because the prophet was faithful to rebuke the king's secret iniquities. So today the servant of Christ, the reprover of sin, meets with scorn and rebuffs. Bible truth, the religion of Christ, struggles against a strong current of moral impurity. Prejudice is even stronger in the hearts of men now than in Christ's day. Christ did not fulfill men's expectations; His life was a rebuke to their sins, and they rejected Him. So now the truth of God's word does not harmonize with men's practices and their natural inclination, and thousands reject its light. Men prompted by Satan cast doubt upon God's word, and choose to exercise their independent judgment. They choose darkness rather than light, but they do it at the peril of their souls. Those who caviled at the words of Christ, found ever-increased cause for cavil, until they turned from the Truth and the Life. So it is now. God does not propose to remove every objection which the carnal heart may bring against His truth. To those who refuse the precious rays of light which would illuminate the darkness, the mysteries of God's word remain such forever. From them the truth is hidden. They walk blindly, and know not the ruin before them. Desire of Ages, pp. 587, 588.

"The sin of ancient Israel was in disregarding the expressed will of God and following their own way according to the leadings of unsanctified hearts.  Modern Israel are fast following in their footsteps, and the displeasure of the Lord is as surely resting upon them." 5T 94.

"Now it is just EXACTLY as in the days of the Jews. When a message came in, why all the power of the leaders [such some leaders on this forum] WAS PUT AGAINST IT, THAT IT SHOULD NOT HAVE ACCESS TO THE PEOPLE. Now, brethren, GO TO GOD FOR YOURSELVES, and on your knees plead with God...If God sends us light, let it come to us, and let no man close the door, or try to close it. Don't close it yourselves. Open the door of your heart and let the brilliant rays of light shine into your heart and into your mind. I pray you, let the Sun of Righteousness in." E.G. White, Manuscript Release #900, Manuscript 9, 1890. 1888 Materials, p. 541.

Ellen White's COUNTERPART statements:

COUNTERPART: "The Lord commanded one of his ancient servants, 'Pray not thou for this people [Jer. 7:16 and 11:14], neither lift up cry nor prayer for them neither make intercession to me for I will not hear thee.' The prophet thus describes the sins which had called forth this fearful denunciation: 'The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means and my people love to have it so and what will ye do in the end thereof?' 'From the least of them even unto the greatest of them, every one is given to covetousness and from the prophet even unto the priest, every one dealeth falsely. They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace, when there is no peace.' The apostles declare that this state of things will find its COUNTERPART in the last days. Many have a form of godliness, but in their daily life deny the power thereof. They have ceased to be convicted of their sins or alarmed at their state. They say in their hearts, 'The church is flourishing. Peace and spiritual prosperity are within her borders.' The words of the prophet may well apply to these self-deceivers, 'They have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations. I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them." E. G. White,  Second Advent Review and Sabbath Herald,  11-07-82.

COUNTERPART: "In the time of the Saviour, the Jews had so covered over the precious jewels of truth with the rubbish of tradition and fable, that it was impossible to distinguish the true from the false. The Saviour came to clear away the rubbish of superstition and long-cherished errors, and to set the jewels of God's word in the framework of truth. What would the Saviour do if he should come to us now as he did to the Jews? He would have to do a similar work in clearing away the rubbish of tradition and ceremony. The Jews were greatly disturbed when he did this work [As are SDAs today!]. They had lost sight of the original truth of God, but Christ brought it again to view. It is our work to free the precious truths of God from superstition and error." E.G. WhiteReview and Herald, vol. 2, 308.

There is a modern COUNTERPART to the ancient apostate "chosen people" of God. That modern COUNTERPART is the people who claim to be the modern "chosen people" of God, the remnant, if you will.

There are over 100 statements to the affect that SDAs are repeating the history of ancient Israel. Here are just a few of them:

"I have been shown that the spirit of the world is fast leavening the church. You are following the same path as did ancient Israel. There is the same falling away from your holy calling as God's peculiar people. You are having fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness. Your [ecumenical] concord with unbelievers have provoked he Lord's displeasure. You know not the things that belong to your peace, and they are fast being hid from your eyes. [The very words applied to fallen Israel on page 17 of The Great Controversy] Your neglect to follow the light will place you in a more unfavorable position than the Jews upon whom Christ pronounced a woe." Testimonies, Vol. 5, pp. 75-76.

"Like ancient Israel, the church has dishonored her God by departing from the light, neglecting her duties, and abusing her high and exalted privilege of being peculiar and holy in character. Her members have violated their covenant to live for God and him only. They have joined with the selfish and world-loving. Pride, the love of pleasure, and sin have been cherished, and CHRIST HAS DEPARTED. His Spirit has been quenched in the church. Satan works wide by side with professed Christians yet they are so destitute of spiritual discernment that they do not detect him." E.G. White, Testimonies, Vol. 2, pp. 441-442.

"Among the professed followers of Christ, there is the same pride, formalism, vainglory, selfishness, and OPPRESSION, that existed in the Jewish nation." E.G. White, Sketches from the Life of Paul, 251-252.

"God's professed people are selfish and self-caring....They are idolaters, and are worse, in the sight of God, than the heathen, graven-image worshippers who have had no knowledge of a better way." Testimonies, Vol. 2, 441-442.

Ezekiel 22:17-31.

Isaiah 4:1-4 cf. Isaiah 37:33, 32.

Isaiah 56:10-12.

The little company standing in the light must not be MEMBERS of the church because the members are doing after the manner of the world.

8.— True reformers believe that sighing and crying for all the abominations involves more than just praying for the church:

The command is: "Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof." These sighing, crying ones had been holding forth the words of life; they had reproved, counseled, and entreated. Some who had been dishonoring God repented and humbled their hearts before Him. But the glory of the Lord had departed from Israel; although many still continued the forms of religion, His power and presence were lacking. {5T 210.2}

9.— True reformers believe that the literal 144,000 in number is the bride of Christ, Zion, that is translated without seeing death, and who enters the Temple on Mt. Zion in heaven, Early Writings, p. 19. We believe that the voice of the bride and the voice of God will awaken all ten virgins at the Loud Cry, Christ Object Lessons, pp. 405-6 and Isaiah 62:11.

10.—True Reformers believe God—that it is impossible to unite with the corrupt and remain pure.

 "It is impossible for you to unite with those who are corrupt, and still remain pure.  'What fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? and what concord hath Christ with Belial?'  God and Christ and the heavenly host would have man know that if he unites with the corrupt, he will become corrupt." Review and Herald, January 2, 1900 (vol 4, p 137).

Joined to a harlot—The following statement implies corporate responsibility from Scripture, for being joined to a harlot is to become ONE with her.

1Cr 6:16 What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.

"The plain straight testimony must live in the church, or the curse of God will rest upon His people as surely as it did upon ancient Israel because of their sins. God holds His people, as a body [corporately], responsible for the sins existing in individuals among them." Testimonies, Vol. 3, p. 269.

The words AS A BODY mean corporately!

The Final Outcome of the SDA Church Militant as Prophesied by Ellen White

This is a little known statement. The book it is from, the 1884 Great Controversy, went out of print. An Adventist doctor started printing it because of statements like you will read below. The church sued him and tried to prevent the book from being re-published. Praise the Lord, the doctor won and we have him to thank for this ominous counsel:

"Jesus sends  HIS PEOPLE a message of warning to prepare them for his coming. To the prophet John was made known the closing work in the great plan of man's redemption. He beheld an angel flying 'in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him for the hour of his Judgment is come and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters [Rev. 14:6, 7.].

The angel represented in prophecy as delivering this message,  symbolizes a class of faithful men, who, obedient to the promptings of God's Spirit and the teachings of his word, proclaim this warning to the inhabitants of earth. This message was not to be committed to the religious leaders of the people. They had failed to preserve their connection with God, and had REFUSED THE LIGHT FROM HEAVEN therefore they WERE NOT of the number described by the apostle Paul: 'But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day we are not of the night nor of darkness' [1 Thess. 5:4, 5].

The watchmen upon the walls of Zion should be the first to catch the tidings of the Saviour's advent, the first to lift their voices to proclaim him near, the first to warn the people to prepare for his coming. But they were at ease, dreaming of peace and safety, while the people were asleep in their sins. Jesus saw HIS CHURCH, like the barren fig-tree, covered with pretentious leaves, yet destitute of precious fruit. There was a boastful observance of the forms of religion, while the spirit of true humility, penitence and faith--which alone could render the service acceptable to God--was lacking. Instead of the graces of the Spirit, there were manifested pride, formalism, vainglory, selfishness, oppression. A BACKSLIDING CHURCH closed their eyes to the signs of the times. God did nor forsake them, or suffer his faithfulness to fail but they departed from him, and SEPARATED THEMSELVES from his love. As they  REFUSED TO COMPLY WITH THE CONDITIONS, his promises were NOT FULFILLED to them."  E.G. White, The Spirit of Prophecy,  vol. 4, pp. 199-200 [The 1884 edition of The Great Controversy, NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH TESTIMONIES, VOL 4].

The Prophesied Fall of The Professing New Movement Seventh-day Adventist Church

I had an SDA theology student say to me: “Ron, if God had something to tell His people, don’t you think He would have it come through the leaders?” The answer is no. The truth did not come through the leaders in the prefigure of Israel.

I had another SDA young man tell me that if God had something to show him, He would show it to him directly and not through someone else. Interesting. That would obviate the gifts God has allocated to the church.

God made many wonderful promises to ancient Israel. They took those promises to be UNCONDITIONAL—NO CONDITIONS ATTACHED. That was a sad mistake. Professing Seventh-day Adventists are doing the same thing. They are taking wonderful promises to the church by Ellen White, and applying them without the condition’s she stated, and in spite of the apostasy for which the church will be destroyed. This is exactly the course apostate Israel followed.

Chap. 24 - The Seal of God

     "He cried also in mine ears with a loud voice, saying, Cause them that have charge over the city to draw near, even every man with his destroying weapon in his hand." {5T 207.2}

     And he called to the man clothed with linen, which had the writer's inkhorn by his side; and the Lord said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof. And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity: slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at My sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house." {5T 207.3}

     Jesus is about to leave the mercy seat of the heavenly

                                                                            208

sanctuary to put on garments of vengeance and pour out His wrath in judgments upon those who have not responded to the light God has given them. "Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil." Instead of being softened by the patience and long forbearance that the Lord has exercised toward them, those who fear not God and love not the truth strengthen their hearts in their evil course. But there are limits even to the forbearance of God, and many are exceeding these boundaries. They have overrun the limits of grace, and therefore God must interfere and vindicate His own honor. {5T 207.4}

     Of the Amorites the Lord said: "In the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full." Although this nation was conspicuous because of its idolatry and corruption, it had not yet filled up the cup of its iniquity, and God would not give command for its utter destruction. The people were to see the divine power manifested in a marked manner, that they might be left without excuse. The compassionate Creator was willing to bear with their iniquity until the fourth generation. Then, if no change was seen for the better, His judgments were to fall upon them. {5T 208.1}

     With unerring accuracy the Infinite One still keeps an account with all nations. While His mercy is tendered with calls to repentance, this account will remain open; but when the figures reach a certain amount which God has fixed, the ministry of His wrath commences. The account is closed. Divine patience ceases. There is no more pleading of mercy in their behalf. {5T 208.2}

     The prophet, looking down the ages, had this time presented before his vision. The nations of this age have been the recipients of unprecedented mercies. The choicest of heaven's blessings have been given them, but increased pride, covetousness, idolatry, contempt of God, and base ingratitude are written

                                                                            209

against them. They are fast closing up their account with God. {5T 208.3}

     But that which causes me to tremble is the fact that those who have had the greatest light and privileges have become contaminated by the prevailing iniquity. Influenced by the unrighteous around them, many, even of those who profess the truth, have grown cold and are borne down by the strong current of evil. The universal scorn thrown upon true piety and holiness leads those who do not connect closely with God to lose their reverence for His law. If they were following the light and obeying the truth from the heart, this holy law would seem even more precious to them when thus despised and set aside. As the disrespect for God's law becomes more manifest, the line of demarcation between its observers and the world becomes more distinct. Love for the divine precepts increases with one class according as contempt for them increases with another class. {5T 209.1}

     The crisis is fast approaching. The rapidly swelling figures show that the time for God's visitation has about come. Although loath to punish, nevertheless He will punish, and that speedily. Those who walk in the light will see signs of the approaching peril; but they are not to sit in quiet, unconcerned expectancy of the ruin, comforting themselves with the belief that God will shelter His people in the day of visitation. Far from it. They should realize that it is their duty to labor diligently to save others, looking with strong faith to God for help. "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." {5T 209.2}

     The leaven of godliness has not entirely lost its power. At the time when the danger and depression of the church are greatest, the little company who are standing in the light will be sighing and crying for the abominations that are done in the land. But more especially will their prayers arise in behalf

                                                                            210

of the church because its members are doing after the manner of the world. {5T 209.3}

     The earnest prayers of this faithful few will not be in vain. When the Lord comes forth as an avenger, He will also come as a protector of all those who have preserved the faith in its purity and kept themselves unspotted from the world. It is at this time that God has promised to avenge His own elect which cry day and night unto Him, though He bear long with them. {5T 210.1}

     The command is: "Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof." These sighing, crying ones had been holding forth the words of life; they had reproved, counseled, and entreated. Some who had been dishonoring God repented and humbled their hearts before Him. But the glory of the Lord had departed from Israel; although many still continued the forms of religion, His power and presence were lacking. {5T 210.2}

     In the time when His wrath shall go forth in judgments, these humble, devoted followers of Christ will be distinguished from the rest of the world by their soul anguish, which is expressed in lamentation and weeping, reproofs and warnings. While others try to throw a cloak over the existing evil, and excuse the great wickedness everywhere prevalent, those who have a zeal for God's honor and a love for souls will not hold their peace to obtain favor of any. Their righteous souls are vexed day by day with the unholy works and conversation of the unrighteous. They are powerless to stop the rushing torrent of iniquity, and hence they are filled with grief and alarm. They mourn before God to see religion despised in the very homes of those who have had great light. They lament and afflict their souls because pride, avarice, selfishness, and deception of almost every kind are in the church. The Spirit

                                                                            211

of God, which prompts to reproof, is trampled underfoot, while the servants of Satan triumph. God is dishonored, the truth made of none effect. {5T 210.3}

     The class who do not feel grieved over their own spiritual declension, nor mourn over the sins of others, will be left without the seal of God. The Lord commissions His messengers, the men with slaughtering weapons in their hands: "Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity: slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at My sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house." {5T 211.1}

     Here we see that the church--the Lord's sanctuary--was the first to feel the stroke of the wrath of God. The ancient men, those to whom God had given great light and who had stood as guardians of the spiritual interests of the people, had betrayed their trust. They had taken the position that we need not look for miracles and the marked manifestation of God's power as in former days. Times have changed. These words strengthen their unbelief, and they say: The Lord will not do good, neither will He do evil. He is too merciful to visit His people in judgment. Thus "Peace and safety" is the cry from men who will never again lift up their voice like a trumpet to show God's people their transgressions and the house of Jacob their sins. These dumb dogs that would not bark are the ones who feel the just vengeance of an offended God. Men, maidens, and little children all perish together. {5T 211.2}

     The abominations for which the faithful ones were sighing and crying were all that could be discerned by finite eyes, but by far the worst sins, those which provoked the jealousy of the pure and holy God, were unrevealed. The great Searcher of hearts knoweth every sin committed in secret by the workers of iniquity. These persons come to feel secure in their deceptions and, because of His long-suffering, say that the Lord

                                                                            212

seeth not, and then act as though He had forsaken the earth. But He will detect their hypocrisy and will open before others those sins which they were so careful to hide. {5T 211.3}

     No superiority of rank, dignity, or worldly wisdom, no position in sacred office, will preserve men from sacrificing principle when left to their own deceitful hearts. Those who have been regarded as worthy and righteous prove to be ring-leaders in apostasy and examples in indifference and in the abuse of God's mercies. Their wicked course He will tolerate no longer, and in His wrath He deals with them without mercy. {5T 212.1}

     It is with reluctance that the Lord withdraws His presence from those who have been blessed with great light and who have felt the power of the word in ministering to others. They were once His faithful servants, favored with His presence and guidance; but they departed from Him and led others into error, and therefore are brought under the divine displeasure. {5T 212.2}

     The day of God's vengeance is just upon us. The seal of God will be placed upon the foreheads of those only who sigh and cry for the abominations done in the land. Those who link in sympathy with the world are eating and drinking with the drunken and will surely be destroyed with the workers of iniquity. "The eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and His ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil." {5T 212.3}

     Our own course of action will determine whether we shall receive the seal of the living God or be cut down by the destroying weapons. Already a few drops of God's wrath have fallen upon the earth; but when the seven last plagues shall be poured out without mixture into the cup of His indignation, then it will be forever too late to repent and find shelter. No atoning blood will then wash away the stains of sin. {5T 212.4}

     "And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince

                                                                            213

which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, everyone that shall be found written in the book." When this time of trouble comes, every case is decided; there is no longer probation, no longer mercy for the impenitent. The seal of the living God is upon His people. This small remnant, unable to defend themselves in the deadly conflict with the powers of earth that are marshaled by the dragon host, make God their defense. The decree has been passed by the highest earthly authority that they shall worship the beast and receive his mark under pain of persecution and death. May God help His people now, for what can they then do in such a fearful conflict without His assistance! {5T 212.5}

     Courage, fortitude, faith, and implicit trust in God's power to save do not come in a moment. These heavenly graces are acquired by the experience of years. By a life of holy endeavor and firm adherence to the right the children of God were sealing their destiny. Beset with temptations without number, they knew they must resist firmly or be conquered. They felt that they had a great work to do, and at any hour they might be called to lay off their armor; and should they come to the close of life with their work undone, it would be an eternal loss. They eagerly accepted the light from heaven, as did the first disciples from the lips of Jesus. When those early Christians were exiled to mountains and deserts, when left in dungeons to die with hunger, cold, and torture, when martyrdom seemed the only way out of their distress, they rejoiced that they were counted worthy to suffer for Christ, who was crucified for them. Their worthy example will be a comfort and encouragement to the people of God who will be brought into the time of trouble such as never was. {5T 213.1}

     Not all who profess to keep the Sabbath will be sealed.

                                                                            214

There are many even among those who teach the truth to others who will not receive the seal of God in their foreheads. They had the light of truth, they knew their Master's will, they understood every point of our faith, but they had not corresponding works. These who were so familiar with prophecy and the treasures of divine wisdom should have acted their faith. They should have commanded their households after them, that by a well-ordered family they might present to the world the influence of the truth upon the human heart. {5T 213.2}

     By their lack of devotion and piety, and their failure to reach a high religious standard, they make other souls contented with their position. Men of finite judgment cannot see that in patterning after these men who have so often opened to them the treasures of God's word, they will surely endanger their souls. Jesus is the only true pattern. Everyone must now search the Bible for himself upon his knees before God, with the humble, teachable heart of a child, if he would know what the Lord requires of him. However high any minister may have stood in the favor of God, if he neglects to follow out the light given him of God, if he refuses to be taught as a little child, he will go into darkness and satanic delusions and will lead others in the same path. {5T 214.1}

     Not one of us will ever receive the seal of God while our characters have one spot or stain upon them. It is left with us to remedy the defects in our characters, to cleanse the soul temple of every defilement. Then the latter rain will fall upon us as the early rain fell upon the disciples on the Day of Pentecost. {5T 214.2}

     We are too easily satisfied with our attainments. We feel rich and increased with goods and know not that we are "wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked." Now is the time to heed the admonition of the True Witness: "I counsel thee to buy of Me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be

                                                                            215

clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see." {5T 214.3}

     In this life we must meet fiery trials and make costly sacrifices, but the peace of Christ is the reward. There has been so little self-denial, so little suffering for Christ's sake, that the cross is almost entirely forgotten. We must be partakers with Christ of His sufferings if we would sit down in triumph with Him on His throne. So long as we choose the easy path of self-indulgence and are frightened at self-denial, our faith will never become firm, and we cannot know the peace of Jesus nor the joy that comes through conscious victory. The most exalted of the redeemed host that stand before the throne of God and the Lamb, clad in white, know the conflict of overcoming, for they have come up through great tribulation. Those who have yielded to circumstances rather than engage in this conflict will not know how to stand in that day when anguish will be upon every soul, when, though Noah, Job, and Daniel were in the land, they could save neither son nor daughter, for everyone must deliver his soul by his own righteousness. {5T 215.1}

     No one need say that his case is hopeless, that he cannot live the life of a Christian. Ample provision is made by the death of Christ for every soul. Jesus is our ever-present help in time of need. Only call upon Him in faith, and He has promised to hear and answer your petitions. {5T 215.2}

     Oh, for a living, active faith! We need it; we must have it, or we shall faint and fail in the day of trial. The darkness that will then rest upon our path must not discourage us or drive us to despair. It is the veil with which God covers His glory when He comes to impart rich blessings. We should know this by our past experience. In that day when God has a controversy with His people this experience will be a source of comfort and hope. {5T 215.3}

     It is now that we must keep ourselves and our children unspotted from the world. It is now that we must wash our robes

                                                                            216

of character and make them white in the blood of the Lamb. It is now that we must overcome pride, passion, and spiritual slothfulness. It is now that we must awake and make determined effort for symmetry of character. "Today if ye will hear His voice, harden not your hearts." We are in a most trying position, waiting, watching for our Lord's appearing. The world is in darkness. "But ye, brethren," says Paul, "are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief." It is ever God's purpose to bring light out of darkness, joy out of sorrow, and rest out of weariness for the waiting, longing soul. {5T 215.4}

     What are you doing, brethren, in the great work of preparation? Those who are uniting with the world are receiving the worldly mold and preparing for the mark of the beast. Those who are distrustful of self, who are humbling themselves before God and purifying their souls by obeying the truth these are receiving the heavenly mold and preparing for the seal of God in their foreheads. When the decree goes forth and the stamp is impressed, their character will remain pure and spotless for eternity. {5T 216.1}

     Now is the time to prepare. The seal of God will never be placed upon the forehead of an impure man or woman. It will never be placed upon the forehead of the ambitious, world-loving man or woman. It will never be placed upon the forehead of men or women of false tongues or deceitful hearts. All who receive the seal must be without spot before God--candidates for heaven. Go forward, my brethren and sisters. I can only write briefly upon these points at this time, merely calling your attention to the necessity of preparation. Search the Scriptures for yourselves, that you may understand the fearful solemnity of the present hour. {5T 216.2}
