Ellen White's Meaning of the
General Destruction of the Wicked--When and Where it Begins

Dear Reader, Ellen White reapplies Matthew 22:1-10, in Sermon’s and Talks, Vol. 1, pp. 4-9. There can be no doubt that Matthew 22:7 is the same event as Ezekiel 9:6. According to Matthew 22:1-10, the murderous city, modern day spiritual Jerusalem, is destroyed BEFORE the final loud cry call to the world. This has altered my thinking on the time Ezekiel 9 is literally fulfilled as pertaining to the apostate new movement SDA church. Here are the
Ellen White quotes some new movement SDA’s are using in an effort to prove
that Ezekiel 9 does not begin until the GEENRAL DESTRUCTION of the world as
though all the world was being destroyed at the same time. They believe that
the future type from the prefigure DESTRUCTION OF JERUSALEM in A. D. 70, the
literal fulfillment of Ezekiel 9, per Ellen White, places at the time
of the "general destruction" of the wicked. That is correct if
one understands the proper concept of the general destruction of the wicked
and when it actually begins. For that understanding we will begin with
Matthew 24:14-22: 14 And this gospel
of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all
nations; and then shall the end come. 15 When ye therefore
shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet,
stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) 16 Then let them which
be in Judaea flee into the mountains: 17 Let him which is
on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: 18 Neither let him
which is in the field return back to take his clothes. 19 And woe unto them
that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! 20 But pray ye that
your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: 21 For then shall be
great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this
time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And except those
days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s
sake those days shall be shortened. Ellen White
is referring to Matthew 24:14-18 in the following statement which some new
movement SDA’s are using to say the church will not be destroyed until the
very same time the world is going down to destruction: "Throughout the land of Judea, as well
as in Jerusalem itself, the signal for flight must be immediately obeyed. He who
chanced to be upon the housetop must not go down into his house, even to save
his most valued treasures. Those who were working in the fields or vineyards
must not take time to return for the outer garment laid aside while they
should be toiling in the heat of the day. They must not hesitate a moment,
lest they be involved in the general destruction. {GC 25.4} It is
important to note that Ellen White refers to the local destruction of
Jerusalem as the “general destruction.” Is is more important to note that
Ellen White is saying that Matthew 24:14-22, which she equates in 5T 451 and
464 with THE NATIONAL SUDAY LAW, is an action that BEGINS the collective
“general destruction” of the world and its wicked, including the wicked at
the new movement SDA Sanctuary. It is yet even more important to be aware
that this collective beginning of the general destruction of the world,
ensuing at the initial enactment of the National Sunday Law, does not involve
the world in immediate destruction, but it certainly begins on the trek of
destruction. It is yet more important to note that the collective destruction
of the world, beginning at the time of the National Sunday law enactment,
BEGINS AT HIS SANCTUARY, the House of Jacob, those who have been privileged
with great light: “Here we see that the
church--the Lord's sanctuary--was the first to feel the stroke of the wrath
of God. The ancient men, those to whom God had given great light and who had
stood as guardians of the spiritual interests of the people, had betrayed
their trust. They had taken the position that we need not look for miracles
and the marked manifestation of God's power as in former days. Times have
changed. These words strengthen their unbelief, and they say: The Lord will
not do good, neither will He do evil. He is too merciful to visit His people
in judgment. Thus "Peace and safety" is the cry from men who will
never again lift up their voice like a trumpet to show God's people their
transgressions and the house of Jacob their sins. These dumb dogs that would
not bark are the ones who feel the just vengeance of an offended God. Men,
maidens, and little children all perish together.” {5T 211.2} Now we have
the proper basis for correctly interpreting and understanding the following
statements used by those who want to maintain that the Ezekiel 9 slaughter is
one big general destruction at the very end—after the plagues. There is a
“general destruction” in each of the following contexts: ·
The overall beginning of the collective General Destruction
that begins with Matthew 24:14-22. ·
The beginnins of the more local
general destruction BEGINNING AT HIS SANCTUARY. Ezekiel 9:6; Matthew 22:7,
and 5T 211. ·
The manifestation of Ezekiel 9 on Babylon. GC 653. ·
The manifestation of Ezekiel 9 on the world. ·
The end of the General overall destruction after the plagues,
per GC, 656. Oh yes, it does say begin at My Sanctuary, but this now refers
to fallen Babylon vis a vis
p. 653, where it says: “Such are the judgments that fall upon
Babylon in the day of the visitation of God’s wrath.” GC, 653. (Last
paragraph). Most SDA’s miss this singular but very important distinction. The scenario
is as follows: ·
Babylon attacks the SDA church on day 1290 after the initial
legislation of the Sunday law. It will not be enforced until then. On day
1260, there will be a 30 day warning period. That is the difference between
the 1260 days of Rev. 13:1-5, which occurs AFTER the wound is healed (IN
CONTEXT), and the 1290 of Daniel 12:11. There will be many martyrs for the
next 45 days to the 1335, and then the Loud Cry will go forth in the power of
the Holy Spirit. ·
Ellen White says that there will be many martyrs as seed for
fruit, and there are no martyrs until the Sunday Law is enforced and it will
not be enforced initially. ·
Ezekiel 9 will be manifest at SDA Sanctuaries around the world
at the same time the martyrs occur. This will fulfill Matthew 22:6, where
many of God’s servants will be treated spitefully and slain. ·
The Babylonians will be infuriated with the SDA church because
she tries to keep going by instructing her members to keep Sunday sacred and
take the mark which she has preached against since 1844. "The Lord has a controversy with His professed people in these
last days. In this controversy men in
responsible positions will take a course directly opposite to that pursued by Nehemiah. They will
not only ignore and despise the Sabbath themselves, but they will try to keep
it from others by burying it beneath the rubbish of custom and
tradition. In churches and in large
gatherings in the open air, ministers will urge upon the people the necessity
of keeping the first day of the week. There are calamities on sea
and land: and these calamities will increase, one disaster following close
upon another; and the little band of
conscientious Sabbath-keepers will be pointed out as the ones who are
bringing the wrath of God upon the world by their disregard of Sunday."
R & H 3-18-1884. ·
The little band of Sabbath-keepers ARE NOT MEMBERS of the
church for if they were, they would be doing after the manner of the world
because that is what Ellen White says the MEMBERS will be doing at the time
when the danger and depression to the church is greatest: ·
"The leaven if godliness has not entirely lost its power. At the
time when the danger and depression of the church are greatest, the little
company who are standing in the light will be sighing and crying for the
abominations that are done in the land. But MORE ESPECIALLY will their
prayers arise in behalf of the church because ITS MEMBERS are doing after the
manner of the world." Testimonies, Vol. 5, 209, 210. ·
The time frames are better explained in this document: https://omega77.tripod.com/daniel8daniel12.htm "Unless
they repent, and leave the work of Satan in oppressing those who have the
burden of the work and in holding up the hands of sinners in Zion, they will
never receive the mark of God's sealing approval. They will fall in the
general destruction of the wicked, represented by the work of the
five men bearing slaughter weapons. 3T 267 {RH, June 8, 1886 par.
2} The
collective general destruction of the wicked begins at His Sanctuary BEFORE
the final call to the world, Matthew 22:1-10, which verses Ellen White reapplies
to our time. "But the
general slaughter of all those who do not thus see the wide contrast
between sin and righteousness, and do not feel as those do who stand in the
counsel of God and receive the mark, is described in the order to the five
men with slaughter weapons: " 3T 267. Always
remember when and when the collective general destruction begins—BEFORE the
call to the world, Matthew 22:1-10. "The
tears which Christ shed upon Olivet as He stood overlooking the chosen city
were not for Jerusalem alone. In the fate of Jerusalem He beheld the
destruction of the world. {COL 302.3} But BEGINNING
AT HIS SANCTUARY before the final call to the world. "So
Christ's disciples were given warning of the destruction of Jerusalem. Those who
watched for the sign of the coming ruin, and fled from the city, escaped the
destruction. So now we are given warning of Christ's second coming and of
the destruction to fall upon the world. Those who heed the warning
will be saved. {DA 634.1} New movement
Adventists love to apply Ezekiel 9 only to the world and/or as occurring at
the same time the world is going down! Somehow, that seems to ease the pain
of their prophesied doom! "From
the fall of Jerusalem the thoughts of Jesus passed to a wider judgment. In
the destruction of the impenitent city He saw a symbol of the final
destruction to come upon the world. DA 743. Beginning at
His Sanctuary, 5T 211. Jesus,
looking down to the last generation, saw the world involved in
a deception similar to that which caused the destruction of Matthew 24:14-22,
certainly portends a world involved in deception and imminent destruction. -----

You have denied many aspects of how Ezekiel 9 was fulfilled anciently, saying

first part of that TWOFOLD fulfillment BEGINNING AT HIS SANCTUARY, 5T 211.
Why do you do that? Lynn writes: Ulicia writes: Ron responds: You pay your leaders tithe to know all the

because I go strictly by the PREFIGURE of A.D. 27-70, and according to the
fulfillment of Matthew 22:1-10, which Ellen White reapplies. Here's just a few quotes showing that both the "Throughout the land of Judea, as well as in Jerusalem

have made my point easier than by citing the above GC, p. 25 statement. Ellen
White is referring to Matthew 24:15, 16. The end-time fulfillment of
this BEGINS at the time of the National Sunday Law. That IS NOT the
time of general destruction of the world at the end-time, BUT IT CERTAINLY
BEGINS THE TIME OF THE COLLECTIVE GENERAL DESTRUCTION OF THE WORLD! But
FIRST it was the general destruction of the wicked in the apostate
church BEGINNING AT HIS SANCTUARY. This is crucial to a correct understanding
of Ellen White's 3T 267 statement. 2. The fulfillment
of Matthew 24:15, 16, begins the collective general destruction of the
world! Those verses apply to all Christians and all who do not obey those
instructions will perish! "Unless they repent, and leave the work of Satan in
oppressing those who have the burden of the work and in holding up the hands
of sinners in Zion, they will never receive the mark of God's sealing
approval. They will fall in the general destruction of the wicked,
represented by the work of the five men bearing slaughter weapons. 3T
267 {RH, June 8, 1886 par. 2} Ron responds: I repeat for crucial emphasis: Ron's response: A number of points: Ellen White is referring to Matthew 24:15, 16. The end-time
fulfillment of this is at the time of the National Sunday Law. That IS NOT
the time of general destruction of the world at the end-time. But it was the
general destruction of the wicked in the apostate church BEGINNING AT HIS
SANCTUARY. This is crucial to a correct understanding of Ellen White's 3T 267
statement. "But the general slaughter of all those who do
not thus see the wide contrast between sin and righteousness, and do not feel
as those do who stand in the counsel of God and receive the mark, is
described in the order to the five men with slaughter weapons: " 3T 267 Ron responds: There will be a general slaughter of wicked SDA's
BEGINNING AT HIS SANCTUARY 3 1/2 years AFTER the initial enactment of the
National Sunday Law. But just as Ellen White spoke of a general destruction
of the wicked at the Temple, Jerusalem and surrounding areas, this is a
general destruction local to SDA's, His Sanctuary--the general destruction of
her WICKED. This begins the general destruction of the world 3 1/2 years
later, but it all begins at His Sanctuary. It cannot all happen at once as
Ulicia misinterprets because the Babylonians are the destroyers! If all were
going down together AT THE SAME TIME in that sense of a general destruction,
the Babylonians would not be destroying BEGINNING AT HIS SANCTUARY, for they
would be going down in destruction at the same time! "The tears which Christ shed upon Olivet as He stood
overlooking the chosen city were not for Jerusalem alone. In the fate
of Jerusalem He beheld the destruction of the world. {COL 302.3} Ron responds: THE GENERAL DESTRUCTION ACTUALLY BEGINS AT HIS
SANCTUARY, 3 1/2 YEARS BEFORE THE FINAL DESTRUCTION OF THE WORLD BUT ALL THIS
IS THE BEGINNING OF THE GENERAL DESTRUCTION OF THE WORLD. "So Christ's disciples were given warning of the
destruction of Jerusalem. Those who watched for the sign of the coming ruin,
and fled from the city, escaped the destruction. So now we are given warning
of Christ's second coming and of the destruction to fall upon the
world. Those who heed the warning will be saved. {DA 634.1} Ron responds: WHICH DESTRUCTION BEGINS AT HIS SANCTUARY, and
continues until all the world is destroyed. This is collectively the
general destruction of the wicked. "From the fall of Jerusalem the thoughts of Jesus
passed to a wider judgment. In the destruction of the impenitent city
He saw a symbol of the final destruction to come upon the world. DA
743 Ron responds: Again, the general destruction of the wicked occurs
at the end of the world. IT BEGINS AT HIS SANCTUARY and end's with the world.
It is TWOFOLD, not ONEFOLD! Jesus, looking down to the last generation, saw the
world involved in a deception similar to that which caused the
destruction of Jerusalem. The great sin of the Jews was their rejection of
Christ; the great sin of the Christian world would be their rejection of the
law of God, the foundation of his government in Heaven and earth. GC 23 Ron responds: General Destruction is TWOFOLD: “The future
was mercifully veiled from the disciples. Had they at that time fully
comprehend the two awful facts--the Redeemer's sufferings and death, and the
destruction of their city and temple--they would have been overwhelmed with horror.
Christ presented before them an outline of the prominent events to take place
before the close of time. His words were not then fully understood; but their
meaning was to be unfolded as His people should need the instruction therein
given. The prophecy which He uttered was twofold in its meaning; while
foreshadowing the destruction of Jerusalem, it prefigured also the
terrors of the last great day.” The Great Controversy, p. 25. Where does the
COLLECTIVE General Destruction of the Wicked at the end-time begin? This
is a very important piece of the weight of evidence that must be factored in
to the equation. The very courts of the Temple could not be scenes of
slaughter unless the church keeps going after the Sunday law! It does!
That is why it all BEGINS AT HIS SANCTUARY--BUT, 3 1/2 years BEFORE the
world is destroyed, for it COLLECTIVELY BEGINS AT HIS SANCTUARY: "In the very courts of the temple, scenes will be enacted that few
realize. God's people will be proved and tested, that He may discern 'between
him that serveth God and him that serveth Him not.' Vengeance will be
executed against those who sit in the gate, deciding what the people should
have and what they should not have. These take away the key
of knowledge. They refuse to enter in
themselves, and those who would enter in they
hinder. These bear not the seal of the living God. All who now occupy
responsible positions should be solemnly and terribly afraid lest in this
time they shall be found as unfaithful stewards." E.G. White, Manuscript
15, 1886, Paulson Collection, p. 55. This is hugely important and teaching. Take special notice of these
words: 1. In the very courts of the
temple scenes will be enacted that few realize. (The church is involved, not
just individuals). Here we see that the church--the Lord's
sanctuary--was the first to feel the stroke of the wrath of God. The ancient
men, those to whom God had given great light and who had stood as guardians
of the spiritual interests of the people, had betrayed their trust. They had
taken the position that we need not look for miracles and the marked
manifestation of God's power as in former days. Times have changed. These
words strengthen their unbelief, and they say: The Lord will not do good,
neither will He do evil. He is too merciful to visit His people in judgment.
Thus "Peace and safety" is the cry from men who will never again
lift up their voice like a trumpet to show God's people their transgressions
and the house of Jacob their sins. These dumb dogs that would not bark are
the ones who feel the just vengeance of an offended God. Men, maidens, and
little children all perish together. {5T 211.2} Ezekiel 9
Destruction precedes and accompanies the coming of Christ: "These scenes
will be re-enacted in the last days. Judgment, then, too, begins at the
'house of God.' (1 Peter 4:17), with those to whom God has given great light
and who have stood as guardians of the spiritual interests of the people, but
who have betrayed their trust (see 5T 211). These unfaithful shepherds receive
first the abuse that will be heaped upon them by those who have been deceived
by their guile (EW 282). Later, they perish in the general destruction that
precedes and accompanies the second coming of Christ (see Rev. 15-19)." SDA

Has anyone from my camp in Africa killed anyone from your camp? I also
made a statement which you entirely ignored. Two people from my camp have
been killed by people from your camp. Does that concern you at all? Ron responds: In 1956-7, the Seventh-day
Adventist denomiNATION rejected Christ and removed Him, His
Atonement and His Sanctuary, which was the very foundation of everything their
faith was based upon. The teachings of my ministry and other true reformers
ministries around the world constitutes a sermon that involves a covenant
summary before the headquarters and leaders of the Seventh-day Adventist
Temple and denomination. It all points to Christ and how God has lead us in the past via the pioneers and how the
pillars of that leading have been crucified and thus Christ has been
crucified afresh, and how there has been no remorse and repentance for those
serious acts which constitute unpardonable sin. Ron responds: My message is a call to
individuals to repent of the sins committed by the leadership of the new
movement church and to come out from a church that has forsaken Christ and
the pillar doctrines of Adventism. My message follows the prefigure example
of Christ in gathering out from an omega heresy church that has forsaken and
removed Christ, because He said that the wheat cannot grow and mature amongst
thorns that do all of the above; that such thorns will choke out the
wheat and kill it. My message is a call to be a true, pioneer Seventh-day
Adventist. It is an abominable like Ulicia Ulrike Unruh, to suggest that I
teach anyone to forsake the true Seventh-day Adventist teachings and the
true SDA church. I teach that there will be a faithful "gathered
out" remnant from the apostate new movement masquerading as the SDA
church, Isaiah 37:31, 32 and Desire of Ages, 232. Ron responds: The true reformers know
when the church has gone beyond the pale of no return in committing
unpardonable sin, just as Christ knew and gave us that knowledge in
Isaiah 8:9-13 and Jeremiah 11:9-15, as well as The Upward Look, 315.
Ellen White said that the church would be a COUNTERPART to the Jews whom we were not to
even pray for, but those words have no meaning to foolish virgins without
spiritual discernment: "The Lord commanded one of his ancient
servants, 'Pray not thou for this people [Jer. 7:16 and 11:14], neither lift
up cry nor prayer for them neither make intercession to me for I will not
hear thee.' The prophet thus describes the sins which had called forth this
fearful denunciation: 'The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear
rule by their means and my people love to have it so and what will ye do in
the end thereof?' 'From the least of them even unto the greatest of them,
every one is given to covetousness and from the prophet even unto the priest,
every one dealeth falsely. They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of
my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace, when there is no peace.' The
apostles declare that this state of things will find its COUNTERPART in the
last days. Many have a form of godliness, but in their daily life deny the
power thereof. They have ceased to be convicted of their sins or alarmed at
their state. They say in their hearts, 'The church is flourishing. Peace and
spiritual prosperity are within her borders.' The words of the prophet may
well apply to these self-deceivers, 'They have chosen their own ways, and
their soul delighteth in their abominations. I also will choose their
delusions, and will bring their fears upon them." E. G. White, Second Advent Review
and Sabbath Herald, 11-07-82. "Shall the Lord be compelled to say,
`Pray not thou for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them,
neither make intercession to Me: for I will not hear thee' [Jeremiah 7:16]? `Therefore
the showers have been withholden, and there hath been no latter rain....Wilt
thou not from this time cry unto Me, My Father, thou art the guide of my
youth' [Jeremiah 3:3-4]?... We are to be judged by the light that has
been given us,(159) and we can find no excuse by which to extenuate our
course." Review and Herald, Vol 3, p 69-70 (August 1, 1893). (Brackets by Ellen White) COUNTERPART: "In the time of
the Saviour, the Jews had so covered over the precious jewels of truth with
the rubbish of tradition and fable, that it was impossible to distinguish the
true from the false. The Saviour came to clear away the rubbish of
superstition and long-cherished errors, and to set the jewels of God's word
in the framework of truth. What would the Saviour do if he should come to us
now as he did to the Jews? He would have to do a similar work in clearing
away the rubbish of tradition and ceremony. The Jews were greatly disturbed
when he did this work [As are SDAs today!]. They had lost sight of the original
truth of God, but Christ brought it again to view. It is our work to free the
precious truths of God from superstition and error." E.G. White,
Review and Herald, Vol. 2, 308. The Lord commanded one of his ancient servants, "Pray not thou
for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them; neither make
intercession to me; for I will not hear thee." The prophet thus
describes the sins which had called forth this fearful denunciation:
"The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their
means; and my people love to have it so; and what will ye do in the end
thereof?" "From the least of them even unto the greatest of them,
every one is given to covetousness; and from the prophet even unto the
priest, every one dealeth falsely. They have healed also the hurt of the
daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace, when there is no
peace." {RH, November 7, 1882 par. 8} The apostles declare that this state of
things will find its counterpart in the last days. Many have a form of
godliness, but in their daily life deny the power thereof. They have ceased
to be convicted of their sins or alarmed at their state. They say in their
hearts, "The church is flourishing. Peace and spiritual prosperity are
within her borders." The words of the prophet may well apply to these
self-deceivers, "They have chosen their own ways, and their soul
delighteth in their abominations. I also will choose their delusions, and
will bring their fears upon them." {RH, November 7, 1882 par. 9} IF THE CHURCH MEMBERS would wake up and get
together to pray and study scripture and prepare themselves, letting God's
truth, love and righteousness flood their minds -- NO LEADER in some far off
office could stop the power of the church as it moves forth to give the true
message TO THE WORLD.
Your church has made a pact with Satan, the leader of the fallen
churches, to tone down the Sabbath issue and to restrict the Everlasting
Gospel to only the unchurched. This is a betrayal of the mission and
commission of the three angel's messages to the world. That is
unfaithfulness to the work of the Lord. That calls for God's Plan B: "The Lord Jesus will always have a
chosen people to serve Him. When the Jewish people rejected Christ, the
Prince of life. He took from them the kingdom of God and gave it unto the
Gentiles. God will continue to work on this principle with every branch of
His work. When a church proves unfaithful to the work of the Lord, whatever
their position may be, however high and sacred their calling, the Lord can no
longer work with them. Others are then chosen to bear important
responsibilities. But, if these in turn do not purify their lives from every
wrong action, if they do not establish pure and holy principles in all their
borders, then the Lord will grievously afflict and humble them and, unless
they repent, will remove them from their place and make them a reproach. God is not 'worshipped with men's hands, as
though he needed any thing' (Acts 17:25). E. G. White, The Upward Look, 131. Unfortunately, your church, like the Jews
it COUNTERPARTS, thinks that God needs them NO MATTER WHAT THEY DO, because
they regard themselves as the last church and that God is just stuck with
them. That is not true friend. As the statement above says, God is not
'worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing.' Your church now
awaits Ezekiel 9:6. Your church now awaits Matthew 22:7. Your church now
awaits Ezekiel 5. Your church now awaits Ezekiel 22:17-31. Ron.

Wieland in the early 1950's. That began the trek downward. That rejection of
truth played a large role in the ensuing further drive into omega heresy in
the latter 1950's. Your one-sided citation of our responsibility as being
only PERSONAL, and not corporate, as pertaining to sin, reflects the error of
your leaders and your husband who is the immediate priest of your household. Your
statement of personal responsibility ONLY, reflects your rejection of the
gift of the Holy Spirit's instruction to the church you claim to defend. This
is serious. We are NOT old Jerusalem, we are a world wide church. Ron responds: O one of little understanding! Jerusalem in Ezekiel
9, refers now to spiritual Jerusalem, His Sanctuary, those (ALL) who have
been privileged with great light, the House of Jacob, and not just the
Headquarters of the church. By your surface understanding of the concept,
only those at the headquarters of ancient Jerusalem and Washington D.C. would
be marked and sealed. Do you see that? That is foolish is it not? The
following statement completely refutes your error: "Throughout the land of Judea, as well as in
Jerusalem itself, the signal for flight must be immediately obeyed. He who chanced to be upon the housetop must not go
down into his house, even to save his most valued treasures. Those who were
working in the fields or vineyards must not take time to return for the outer
garment laid aside while they should be toiling in the heat of the day. They
must not hesitate a moment, lest they be involved in the general
destruction. {GC 25.4} There were watchmen in towers all over Judea and they blew the
trumpet at any approaching danger, and the people flocked to Jerusalem, and
the Temple, for the leaders told the people that the Romans would never penetrate
the 20fit thick gates to the city. You are countermanding God's Word that
every true Christian was saved and the rest perished or were taken captive to
Rome--the fate of some young and able bodied, as slaves. In the antitype, the world churches of Babylon
will become infuriated because the apostate SDA church will instruct its
members to keep Sunday, as well as Sabbath at first. This will be looked upon
as Satanic opportunism. This will provide a greater potential for "sheep
stealing," and this is what will infuriate the Babylonian destroyers who
will execute Ezekiel 9 the world over, BEGINNING AT HIS SANCTUARY. Ellen
White said that travel will be impeded. That was so in the ancient
fulfillment as well.
Ron's messages is NOT without contradictions-- BUT FULL OF
THEM. If you would only open your eyes to see them. THE crises will come to divide the true from the
false. BUT Ezekiel's judgment does not come till end as revealed in GC
656. The false leaders that are now in the church will be around ON THE
WRONG SIDE till the end. Ron responds: Your words above, Ulicia, constitute a grievous peace
and safety lie. What you are mocking is God's Word. Josephus gives the vivid
history of the destruction of Jerusalem in A.D. 70, as an eye-witness. He
tells how complete it was. He tells how Jewish synagogues were destroyed all
over the land. Travel was impeded and the Jews of surrounding areas who were
not at the Temple were also rounded up and killed or taken as slaves. Notice
in the following statement from the SDA Bible Commentary, how even the Jews
of Damascus suffered bitterly even in the first attack on Jerusalem in A.D.
66: “In the autumn
of A.D. 66, Cestius next concentrated his entire force upon Jerusalem. He arrived during the celebration of the
Feast of Tabernacles, and although it was Sabbath, the Jews abandoned their
religious rites and rushed out to attack Cestius’ troops. To the amazement of both Romans and Jews,
they broke the Roman ranks. Indeed,
Josephus declares that only a flank attack by a force of footmen and cavalry
saved Cestius’ forces. More than 500
Roman soldiers were killed whereas the Jews lost only 22 men (War ii.
198, 2 [519]). At this point Agrippa
sent an embassy to the Jews; their reaction was to attack his
representatives, killing one and wounding the other. Encouraged by a promise of the royalist
party in Jerusalem to open the gates for him, Cestius then gathered his
troops to a fresh assault, and penetrated as far as the north wall of the
Temple. Then an astounding thing
happened: Cestius withdrew his troops, and placed himself strategically in
such a poor position among the Judean hills that the Jews were able to attack
him and kill more than 5,000 infantry and nearly 500 cavalry, including many
officers, as well as to capture much materiel. A Lull in the
Storm.—The defeat and withdrawal of Cestius gave many of the conservative
Jews a chance to flee from Jerusalem.
Some of them joined Agrippa, others sought quiet in country places,
and still others left the country entirely.
It was at this time that the Christians in Jerusalem fled in
accordance with the warning of Jesus recorded in Matt. 24:15-19. According to Eusebius, the 4th-century
historian, the Christians in Jerusalem had been warned by prophets before the
war began that they should leave the doomed city and find refuge at Pella in
Peraea. They now took this opportunity
to make good their escape (Ecclesiastical History
iii. 5, 3). During this time of
comparative peace in Judea, however, the Jews in Damascus suffered bitterly. The Gentiles there had penned
them up in the gymnasium under suspicion. When they learned of the Jewish
victory in Jerusalem, they massacred more than 10,000 of them in ONE
DAY." SDA Bible
Commentary, Vol. 5, 74, 75. ONE DEVASTATED
TOWN AFTER ANOTHER--"Fighting Among the Jews.--As the Romans left one devastated town
after another behind them,
groups of
marauders moved in and carried on minor civil conflicts. The people of these
towns fled when possible to Jerusalem, swelling the numbers there to be fed
and kept in order. At last, sensing the importance of united action, the
marauders came together and also moved into Jerusalem, where they took over
control of affairs. They apprehended the best men of the city, who were
opposed to violence because they saw its futility, and put many of them to
death on the charge of treating with the Romans." ibid. pp. 76. A Jewish Civil
War.---When the Roman troops lying at rest for the moment, a Jewish leader by
the name of Simon bar Giora began
a marauding campaign through Judea and Idumeaea, plundering and
killing." ibid. p. 77. Here is Ellen White’s reapplication of Matthew 22:1-10: Called to the Wedding Feast (Sermon by Ellen G. White
In Washington, Township, Iowa, Cir. 1874.) The words which I have selected as a
foundation for a few remarks you will find in the 22nd chapter of Matthew,
beginning at the first verse. [Verses 1-10, quoted.] {1SAT 4.1} The portion of Scripture presented
before us, which I have referred to and have presented before your minds, is
of intense meaning--much more than I am able to explain. It is of great
interest to us, and we should consider it, and let it have due weight upon
our minds. We find by perusing God's sacred Word of inspiration that when the
promised Messiah, the Son of God, came into the world His own people, even
His own nation--the Jews--would not and did not receive Him. As we are told
in the first chapter of St. John, "He came unto His own, and His own
received Him not" (John 1:11). {1SAT 4.2} The provision was made, but they would
not receive it. The Father Himself provided a ransom, even a sacrifice. His
own dear Son submitted Himself to His Father's requirements, came into this
sinful world, became a man of sorrow and acquainted with grief. He went about
doing good, speaking in tones of tenderness, saying in the deepest and most
fervent and sweetest accents ever uttered, "Come unto Me, all ye that
labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you,
and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart"; and He assures us we
shall find rest to our souls. {1SAT 4.3} "Again, he sent forth other
servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my
dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come
unto the marriage. But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his
farm, another to his merchandise." -5-
{1SAT 4.4} The great King Himself hath made a
marriage for His Son. He hath sent forth His servants for many hundreds of
years, saying, "Come, for all things are ready." But how little do
the [people of the] world heed the invitation! They make light of it and go
their ways to their worldly pursuits and worldly pleasures, the same as they
have done for centuries. But the King sendeth forth His armies and destroys
those murders and burns up their city, and we are told in the ninth chapter
of Daniel, the 26th verse, that "the people of the Prince that shall
come shall destroy the city...; and the end thereof shall be with a flood."
{1SAT 5.1} "Then saith he to his servants, The
wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy. Go ye therefore
into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage."
{1SAT 5.2} In the 14th chapter of Luke, verse 16,
we find that there was made a great supper and many were bidden. Servants
were sent forth to say to those that were bidden, "Come; for all things
are now ready" [verse 17]. But they made excuses. {1SAT 5.3} The King of the kingdom hath made a marriage
supper for His Son. He hath sent forth His servants to say to those which are
bidden, "Come to the marriage." The Lord is sending His servants,
saying unto all who will hear, "Come, make ready for the great marriage
supper of the Lamb; He is soon coming to receive all the faithful to the
mansions prepared by Him, to partake of the feast which He hath
prepared." He is sending, and hath been sending His servants for some
thirty years past to say unto His people, "Come, make ready, put on your
wedding garments; clothe yourselves with meekness, humility, and truth, and
have yourselves clad in the righteousness of Christ, that you may be -6- able to appear before Him,
and enter into the guest chamber with those who shall sit with Me at the
wedding of My Son." {1SAT 5.4} All must be clothed with the wedding
garment in order to be accepted, lest we be found speechless. {1SAT 6.1} Is it not of the greatest importance
that we be found having on the robe of righteousness, that we be ready when
the Bridegroom cometh to enter in to the marriage supper? May we heed the
invitation given and make ourselves ready that we may have admittance into
the Master's house, that He say not unto us that none which were bidden shall
taste of His supper. In the parable, those who were bidden heeded not its
invitation, but continued excusing themselves, feasting upon the pleasures of
this world as the masses do at the present time. {1SAT 6.2} The servants of God are inviting and
entreating them to come away from the alluring scenes of this vain and
fleeting world, to make ready for the marriage supper, but they will not
come. We hear them saying, There's no danger; tomorrow shall be as this day
and much more abundant; no need of being disturbed. We must needs attend to
farms and merchandise and the things of this life, lest we lose worldly
interests, and become poor and suffer want. They forget that He who careth
for the little sparrows and clotheth the lilies of the field, careth for the
humble, trusting soul, and will guide and direct all those who are ready to
do His will, and bestow upon His dear children such things as they need. To
all who through patience and perseverance overcome, He hath promised to give
a crown of never fading glory, a robe of righteousness, and an entrance into
the beautiful city of our God. {1SAT 6.3} This same King is sending forth His
servants today. He is inviting His guests, saying, "Come, for all things
are now ready." The Lord of the marriage -7- is soon coming: behold, He
is at the door. Delay not to open the door, lest He turn away from receiving
you and you enter not into the marriage feast. Open the door and receive the
Master, that you may enter into the mansions of everlasting rest and never
fading glory prepared for all those that love Him. Who will make ready for
the coming of Him who hath said, "Behold, I come quickly; and My reward
is with Me, to give to every man according as his work shall be" [Rev.
22:12]. {1SAT 6.4} If we neglect our spiritual interests,
neglect to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable unto God, which is our
reasonable duty, we become entangled with the trifling cares of this life. If
we even once omit our daily duty of calling upon God for His divine aid, His
care and protection, we lose one day's enjoyment. We have not the sweet,
melting influence of God's Holy Spirit attending us through the day, but we
feel cast down and easily discouraged. The enemy of souls is ready to take
advantage [of us] and often does, bringing us into captivity and sin. {1SAT
7.1} We may sometimes be cumbered about much
serving, like Martha; but how much more commendable was the act of Mary, who
sat and listened to the teachings of Jesus. He says, "Martha, thou art
careful and troubled about many things: but . . . . Mary hath chosen that
good part, which shall not be taken away from her" (Luke 10:41, 42).
{1SAT 7.2} How many times the things of this vain,
deceitful world come between us and our eternal interests! Temporal things
spring up within our hearts and choke those things which are spiritual. We
permit the enemy of righteousness to persuade us that we should attend to the
things of this life. We now and then neglect greater duties lest we suffer
want. If we faithfully entreat God to -8- give us strength and to
perform temporal duties, and at the same time to give us grace and wisdom to
overcome evil; if we have our hopes centered above and our conversation in
heaven, whence we look for the Son of man who has bidden to the marriage all
who will come: who has gone up on high to prepare mansions for all those who
love and keep His sayings, and has told us He is coming to receive us, we may
enter in to the wedding feast with Him, that where He is there we may be
also. If we turn away from those calls and invitations, what will be the
consequence? {1SAT 7.3} In the 13th chapter of the Acts of the
Apostles, 46th verse, we find that if we put God's work from us, and judge
ourselves unworthy of everlasting life, we have no reason to expect an
entrance into the kingdom. The 24th verse of the 14th chapter of Luke informs
us that "none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper."
{1SAT 8.1} The great eternal Father has prepared a
marriage feast for His Son. Will we give heed to His servants who have been
and are being sent forth to proclaim unto us the solemn invitation? Or shall
we make light of it? Oh, why refuse to make ready for the marriage of the Son
of God? There is room for all who will accept the invitation. None can say
[that] those things were not duly represented. Remember, when the good man
returns, those who are ready will go in to the feast and the door will be
shut, and there will be no further entrance, for we read that when "the
master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door" (Luke
13:25), then those who would find admittance will hear the answer, "I
know you not. . . ; depart from Me." {1SAT 8.2} May we heed well the solemn warning and
make ready to enter into the wedding, that His house may be filled. God's
Word informs us, "Blessed are they that do His commandments, that they
may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into
the city" (Rev. 22:14). May we be found faithful, and give diligence to
our calling, and possess the promised reward of the faithful, is my
prayer.--Ms 8, 1874. (MR 900.56) {1SAT 8.3} End Matthew 22 Parable from
Sermon and Talks The purpose of this document
is to make Ezekiel 9 beginning at His Sanctuary, accord with Ellen White’s
reapplication of Matthew 22:1-10, interpreting all E.G. White statements so
that none contradict God’s Word in Matthew. rb |
