Should Adventists Join Some New Movement?

By Ellen G. White

The above article is below the following introduction added by the this writer.

Time place circumstance -- Time, Place and Circumstance: "Regarding the Testimonies, nothing is ignored nothing is cast aside but TIME AND PLACE MUST BE CONSIDERED...Every jot and tittle is essential and must appear at the opportune time." E.G. White, Selected Messages, vol. 1, p. 57.

Obviously, CIRCUMSTANCE is implied by TIME, PLACE AND OPPORTUNE TIME.

The following statement has been fulfilled as the omega heresy and apostasy that Ellen White prophesied would come.

Clarence Settle on 1SM 204-5  "The enemy of souls (Satan himself) has sought to bring in the supposition that a great reformation was to take place among Seventh-day Adventists, and that this reformation would consist in giving up the doctrines which stand as the pillars of our faith[R1] [R2] , and engaging in a process of[R3] . Were this reformation to take place what would result[R4] ? The principles of truth that God in His wisdom has given to the remnant church would be discarded[R5] . Our religion would be changed[R6] . The fundamental principles that have sustained the work for the last fifty years would be accounted as error[R7] . A NEW ORGANIZATION would be established[R8] . Books of a new order would be written[R9] ) A system of intellectual philosophy would be introduced [R10] The founders of this system would go into the cities, and do a wonderful work[R11] . The Sabbath of course would be lightly regarded[R12] , as also the God who created it[R13] . Nothing would be allowed to stand in the way of the NEW MOVEMENT[R14] . The leaders would teach that virtue is better than vice, but GOD BEING REMOVED they would place their dependence on human power, which, WITHOUT GOD, is worthless[R15] , Their foundation would be built on the sand, and storm and tempest would sweep away the structure[R16] ." 1SM: 204, 205.

Spiritualism is any error. The Trinity Doctrine’s denial of what occurred in the Sanctuary of Heaven by way of the sacrifice that made the Atonement possible and effectual does away with the entire Sanctuary Service and the Atonement. The entire Christian economy is thus destroyed. Ellen White saw the Sanctuary GONE—THE ATONEMENT GONE.

"The spiritualistic theories regarding the personality of God [the Godhead], followed to their logical conclusion, sweep away the whole Christian economy. They estimate as nothing the light that Christ came from heaven to give John to give to His people. They teach that the scenes just before us are not of sufficient importance to be given special attention. They make of no effect the truth of heavenly origin, and rob the people of God of their past experience, giving them instead a false science." E.G. White, 1SM, p. 204.

The personality of God and Christ are involved with Pillar/Landmark doctrine that the Trinity Doctrine does away with:

Sanctuary Gone Atonement Gone -- "In a representation which passed before me, I saw a certain work being done by medical missionary workers. Our ministering brethren were looking on, watching what was being done, but they did not seem to understand. The foundation of our faith, which was established by so much prayer, such earnest searching of the Scriptures, was being taken down, pillar by pillar. Our faith was to have nothing to rest upon--the sanctuary was gone, the atonement was gone." E.G. White, The Upward Look, 152.

The atonement is related to the Godhead issue. The Trinity Doctrine obfuscates the Atonement by discounting the sacrifice of Christ in emptying Himself of His Divine Nature in order to give it to us for regeneration. Ellen White said without that sacrifice, the cross would have been to no avail, and the Trinity Doctrine obviates that sacrifice by saying that it NEVER TOOK PLACE because the Holy Spirit always existed as a third person. That is blasphemy against the "greatest good and crowning sacrifice" gift that heaven could bestow. The personality of God and Christ is thus involved in the omega apostasy involving the Godhead vis a vis the Trinity Doctrine.

Should Adventists Join Some New Movement?

By Ellen G. White

Bank's Terrace

Wellington, New Zealand

June 12, 1893

     Those who have published the Loud Cry tract have not consulted me upon the subject. They have quoted largely from my writings and put their own construction upon them. They claim to have a special message from God to pronounce the Seventh-day Adventist Church Babylon, proclaim her fall, and call the people of God to come out of her, and try to make the Testimonies substantiate their theory. These publications are misleading minds, and increasing the prejudice already existing, and tend to make it more difficult to get access to them to present the message God has given in warnings to the world of altogether a different character from the ideas presented in these pamphlets. {RH, November 8, 1956 par. 1}

     I arose at half-past two o'clock; I could not sleep; the burden was upon me. The history of the children of Israel urged itself upon my mind, and many points were so clearly pressed upon me that I dared not keep silent. I wrote twenty-three pages between three o'clock and half-past twelve o'clock. My spirit was stirred within me. I felt a burden for the people of God, not only on account of this one production, but because of many such matters which are coming to the people, claiming to be messages from God. "By their fruits ye shall know them." {RH, November 8, 1956 par. 2}

     A number of these pamphlets came to the post office, with instruction to the postmaster to hand them to Seventh-day Adventists. The people of Wellington are full of prejudice. The circulation of D. M. Canright's falsehoods has created prejudice, making it next to impossible to reach the people and everything of this character creates the suspicion that we are working under cover. These pamphlets and telegraph dispatches from Brother C are of a character to confirm these suspicions. All these things are closing the doors of the people against us. The way is being hedged up by just such things. {RH, November 8, 1956 par. 3}

     These men (Stanton, Caldwell and Canright) who think they are doing God service are working on the enemy's side, not on God's side. Yesterday I sent twenty-three pages of manuscript to Melbourne to be prepared for circulation among our people. Prior to this I sent a number of pages treating on the same subject. It will not be prepared to go in this month's mail. {RH, November 8, 1956 par. 4}

     A little leaven of false doctrine, under the inspiration of satanic agencies, may work much harm to those who are not rooted and grounded and unmovable in present truth. No one can be safe now unless riveted to the eternal Rock. We have every reason to be grateful and trustful in God. The Lord Jesus knoweth them that are His. He died to save a lost world, and He is gathering out from it an army to serve under His banner. And He will present to Himself a glorious church without spot or wrinkle or any such thing. {RH, November 8, 1956 par. 5}

     I understood that both these men were at the General Conference [held in Battle Creek, February 17-March 6, 1893], that is, S and C. [Stanton and Caldwell] Could they not discern there the revealings of the Spirit of God? Could they not see that God was opening the windows of heaven and pouring out a blessing? Why was this? Testimonies had been given correcting and counseling the church and many had made a practical application of the message to the Laodicean Church[R17] , and were confessing their sins and repenting in contrition of soul. They were hearing the voice of Jesus, the heavenly Merchantman, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." {RH, November 8, 1956 par. 6}

     These brethren who claimed to have this wonderful light had the very same work of repentance and confession to do, thus clearing the rubbish from the door of their own hearts, and opening the door of their hearts to welcome the heavenly guest. Had they placed themselves in the channel of light, they would have received the most precious blessings from heaven. They would have seen that the Lord was indeed gracious, manifesting Himself to His people, and that the Sun of Righteousness had risen upon them. This was precious merchandizing actively carried on. The counsel of Christ to the Laodicean Church was being acted upon, and all who were feeling their poverty were buying gold (faith and love), white raiment (the righteousness of Christ), and eyesalve (true spiritual discernment). {RH, November 8, 1956 par. 7}

     Why did not these brethren fall into line, and place themselves in the channel of light? They were poverty stricken and knew it not. They were not working in Christ's lines, were not softened and subdued by His Holy Spirit, and were so blinded that they could not see the strong beams of light that were coming from the throne of God upon His people. They heard not the voice of the true Shepherd. They were listening to the voice of a stranger. {RH, November 8, 1956 par. 8}

     When I consider the infirmities of these misled brethren, I feel deep sorrow of heart that they did not plead with God, "Bless me, O God bless, now I see my error. Thou art communicating to Thy people the richest truths ever committed to mortals. These people are not Babylon; for Thou hast given to them righteousness and peace and Thy joy, that their joy may be full." O why did they not open the door of their heart to Jesus? Why not have removed right there all that obstructs the bright beams of the Sun of Righteousness that they might shine to the world? While God's blessing was penetrating everywhere, while His presence was consecrating and sanctifying souls unto Himself, why did they not place their souls in the channel of light? It was because Satan had cast his hellish shadow athwart their pathway to obstruct every ray of light. {RH, November 8, 1956 par. 9}

     How could they come from that meeting where the power of God was revealed in so marked a manner, and proclaim that the loud cry was that the commandment-keeping people were Babylon[R18] . Satan was saying that same thing to Christ when Joshua stood before the angel. Satan was declaring his sins to be so great that he should not be restrained from destroying him. The words of Christ are applicable to these brethren, and to all who advance similar sentiments. "The Lord rebuke thee, O Satan; even the Lord that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire? Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments and stood before the angel." Who clothed him with filthy garments? "And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment. And I said, Let them set a fair mitre upon his head. So they set a fair mitre upon his head, and clothed him with garments. And the angel of the Lord stood by. And the angel of the Lord protested unto Joshua, saying, Thus saith the Lord of Hosts; if thou wilt walk in my ways, and if thou wilt keep my charge, then thou shalt also judge my house, and shalt also keep my courts, and I will give thee places to walk among these that stand by." The work of Satan is to cover the repentant, believing, commandment-keeping people of God[R19]  with defiling garments; Jesus Christ commands them to be clothed with His righteousness, garments woven in the loom of heaven. {RH, November 8, 1956 par. 10}

     What have our brethren S and C been doing? If they had been commissioned of God to do this work they would not need to appropriate the writings of Sister White, without consulting her or saying a word to her. If they have so large confidence in the work the Lord has given her to do, why did not they advise with her, and see if this wonderful message was in accordance with the instruction given her of the Lord? Why did they not have wisdom to go to work in the right way? {RH, November 8, 1956 par. 11}

     But theirs is a spurious message, of the same character of similar messages that men have claimed to have of the Lord. It is not as the bright shining of a candle lighted from the divine altar. When the Lord gives His people light it is light. It is not darkness and error, leading directly away from the true light which God has sent to strengthen and bless, and give hope to His people. These men had no right to appropriate the Lord's goods entrusted to His humble servant to trade upon and improve by trading upon them, and to place them in the framework of their errors, making it appear that it was the voice of God from heaven giving the "Loud Cry" that the church, His chosen people, who are keeping His commandments, are Babylon, and His people are called to come out of her. {RH, November 8, 1956 par. 12}

     I have no such message to give; but one of an entirely different character. My work is to seek to save lost, perishing souls, and to teach them as did Paul, who says, "I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house, testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. . . . I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men. For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God. Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock." {RH, November 8, 1956 par. 13}

     Now he brings before them another class: "Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them. Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears." {RH, November 8, 1956 par. 14}

     In all ages of the world there have been men who think they have a work to do for the Lord, and show no respect for those whom the Lord has been using. They do not make right applications of Scripture, they wrest the Scriptures to sustain their own ideas. Whatever may be the claims of those who draw away from the body to proclaim theories of their own invention[R20] , they are in Satan's service, to get up some new device to divert souls from the truth for this time. {RH, November 8, 1956 par. 15}

     Beware of those who arise with a great burden to denounce the church. The chosen ones who are standing and breasting the storm of opposition from the world, and are uplifting the downtrodden commandments of God to exalt them as honorable and holy, are indeed the light of the world. {RH, November 8, 1956 par. 16}

     How dare mortal man pass his judgment upon them, and call the church a harlot, Babylon, a den of thieves, a cage of every unclean and hateful bird[R21] , the habitation of devils, making the nations drunk with the wine of her fornication, confederating with the kings and great men of the earth, waxing rich through the abundance of her delicacies, and proclaiming that her sins have reached unto heaven and God hath remembered her iniquities? Is this the message we have to bear to Seventh-day Adventists? I tell you No! God has given no man any such message. Let these men humble their hearts before God, and in true contrition repent that they have even for a time stood by the side of the accuser of the brethren who accused them before God day and night. . . . {RH, November 8, 1956 par. 17}

     It seems almost impossible that anyone who had a genuine experience in the faith should suggest such erroneous applications of Scripture as applicable to God's commandment-keeping people. Supposing this spurious message is the one everyone must hear for this time, "Come out of her, my people," where shall we go to? Where shall we find the purity, goodness, and holiness where we shall be secure? Where is the fold where no wolves will enter? {RH, November 8, 1956 par. 18}

     I tell you, my brethren, the Lord has an organized body through whom He will work[R22] . There may be more than a score of Judases among them; there may be a rash Peter who will under circumstances of trial deny his Lord; there may be persons represented by John whom Jesus loved, but he may have a zeal that would destroy men's lives by calling down fire from heaven upon them to revenge an insult to Christ and to the truth. But the great Teacher seeks to give lessons of instruction to correct these existing evils. He is doing the same today with His church. He is pointing out their dangers. He is presenting before them the Laodicean message[R23] . {RH, November 8, 1956 par. 19}

     He shows them that all selfishness, all pride, all self-exaltation, all unbelief and prejudice, which lead to resistance of the truth and turn away from the true light, are dangerous, and unless repented of, those who cherish these things will be left in darkness as was the Jewish nation. Let every soul now seek to answer the prayer of Christ. Let every soul echo that prayer in mind, in petitions, in exhortations, that they all may be one even as Christ is one with the Father, and work to this end. In the place of turning the weapons of warfare within our own ranks, let them be turned against the enemies of God and of the truth[R24] . Echo the prayer of Christ with your whole heart: "Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. . . . I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil." Also this prayer which He offers to interpret the process through which His followers are sanctified: "Sanctify them through thy truth." {RH, November 8, 1956 par. 20}

     The door of the heart must be opened to the Holy Spirit, for this is the sanctifier, and the truth is the medium. There must be an acceptance of the truth as it is in Jesus. This is the only genuine sanctification: "Thy word is truth." O read the prayer of Christ for unity, "Keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are." The prayer of Christ is not only for those who are now His disciples, but for all those who shall believe on Christ through the words of His disciples, even to the end of the world. Jesus was just about to yield up His life to bring life and immortality to light. Christ, amid His sufferings, and being daily rejected of men, looks down the lines two thousand years to His church which would be in existence in the last days, before the close of this earth's history. {RH, November 8, 1956 par. 21}

     The Lord has had a church from that day, through all the changing scenes of time to the present period, 1893. The Bible sets before us a model church. They are to be in unity with each other, and with God. When believers are united to Christ the living vine, the result is that they are one with Christ, full of sympathy and tenderness and love. When anyone is drawing apart from the organized body of God's commandment-keeping people, when he begins to weigh the church in his human scales, and begins to pronounce judgment against them[R25] , then you may know that God is not leading him. He is on the wrong track. {RH, November 8, 1956 par. 22}

     Constantly, men and women are arising who become restless and uneasy, who want to set up some new contrivance; to do some wonderful thing. Satan watches his opportunity to give them something to do in his line. God has given to every man his work. There are opportunities and privileges in the church to help those who are ready to die, and to inspire the church with zeal, but not to tear the church to pieces[R26] . There are plenty of opportunities in the church to walk in Christ's lines. If the heart is full of zeal to press on to a deeper sanctification and holiness, then work in that line in all humbleness and devotedness. The church needs freshness and the inspiration of men who breathe in the very atmosphere of heaven, to vitalize the church, notwithstanding the tares are among the wheat. {RH, November 8, 1956 par. 23}

     If good men and humble men will take up their duty just where it is, to help those who are ready to die, they will be a great blessing to the church[R27] . There are unconverted men in the church, and if those who are so longing to show their zeal for the Lord will seek these poor souls and work with patience and perseverance to win them to Jesus, God would work with them. "Ye are laborers together with God," not to tear down and destroy, but to restore[R28] . "Make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way." There is an abundance of work that is needed to be done in home missions, and in exercising the talents God has given us, for wise improvement. We may become skillful as a tradesman in His business by practice. We want to become skillful in the trade of working to bless souls, learning to save souls. This requires prayer, and earnest, persevering effort, and a willingness to work in a humble way. {RH, November 8, 1956 par. 24}

     If the money that has been needlessly expended in the doing of works that God has not sent men to do at all, had been employed economically in ways that are simple and safe for the progress and upbuilding of Christ's kingdom in the world, instead of helping Satan to cast upon the kingdom of Christ reproach, and clothing His church with filthy garments as Satan is doing, and urging them into false positions by using the reproofs and corrections that God has given them to show them their sin; what a great work would have been laid upon the foundation stone. {RH, November 8, 1956 par. 25}

     "Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is." I would caution all believers to learn to maintain a godly jealousy over yourselves, lest Satan shall steal your heart away from God, and you slip unconsciously into work in Satan's lines, without perceiving that you have changed leaders, and be found in the treacherous power of a tyrant. {RH, November 8, 1956 par. 26}

     We are as a church to be wide awake, and to work for the erring among us, as laborers together with God. We are furnished with spiritual weapons, mighty to the pulling down of the fortress of the enemy. We are not to hurl the thunderbolts against the church of Christ militant[R29] ; for Satan is doing all he possibly can in this line, and you who claim to be the remnant of the people of God had better not be found helping him, denouncing, accusing, and condemning. Seek to restore, not to tear down, discourage, and destroy[R30] .-- Manuscript 21, 1893. {RH, November 8, 1956 par. 27} End of Article by Mrs. White.

Commentary: In 1884, nine years before Ellen White wrote the above correspondence to Stanton and Caldwell, she had given the outcome of the Seventh-day Adventist church in the 1884 edition of The Great Controversy. The church stopped publishing that edition and the copyright lapsed. So an SDA doctor began publishing it because he knew how important the following statement in the book was to God’s people. The church sued the doctor, but he won. So the church began to publish the book once again. Here is the statement wherein Ellen White gives the outcome of the SDA church militant. This statement is mutilated nearly beyond recognition in the 1911 edition of The Great Controversy, and Ellen White once said she would not change a word of that book. Here is the statement:

"Jesus sends HIS PEOPLE a message of warning to prepare them for his coming. To the prophet John was made known the closing work in the great plan of man's redemption. He beheld an angel flying 'in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him for the hour of his Judgment is come and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters [Rev. 14:6, 7.].

The angel represented in prophecy as delivering this message, symbolizes a class of faithful men, who, obedient to the promptings of God's Spirit and the teachings of his word, proclaim this warning to the inhabitants of earth. This message was not to be committed to the religious leaders of the people. They had failed to preserve their connection with God, and had REFUSED THE LIGHT FROM HEAVEN therefore they WERE NOT of the number described by the apostle Paul: 'But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day we are not of the night nor of darkness' [1 Thess. 5:4, 5].

The watchmen upon the walls of Zion should be the first to catch the tidings of the Saviour's advent, the first to lift their voices to proclaim him near, the first to warn the people to prepare for his coming. But they were at ease, dreaming of peace and safety, while the people were asleep in their sins. Jesus saw HIS CHURCH, like the barren fig-tree, covered with pretentious leaves, yet destitute of precious fruit. There was a boastful observance of the forms of religion, while the spirit of true humility, penitence and faith--which alone could render the service acceptable to God--was lacking. Instead of the graces of the Spirit, there were manifested pride, formalism, vainglory, selfishness, oppression. A BACKSLIDING CHURCH closed their eyes to the signs of the times. God did nor forsake them, or suffer his faithfulness to fail but they departed from him, and SEPARATED THEMSELVES from his love. As they  REFUSED TO COMPLY WITH THE CONDITIONS, his promises were NOT FULFILLED to them."  E.G. White, The Spirit of Prophecy,  vol. 4, pp. 199-200 [The 1884 edition of The Great Controversy, [DON’T CONFUSE THIS BOOK WITH TESTIMONIES, VOL 4. The above statement is from the Spirit of Prophecy series of four books and not  volume 4 of the Testimonies series of 9 volumes].

There are many qualifying phrases in the above statement so that you can KNOW for sure that Ellen White is specifically addressing Seventh-day Adventists. For example:

·       His people.

·       Those entrusted with the Everlasting        Gospel of Rev. 14.

·       Third angel symbolizing faithful men who give the three angel’s messages.

·       Watchmen on the walls of Zion (not Babylon!)

·       His Church.

·       A backsliding church. (Babylon’s churches are fallen, not a backslidden. It is SDA’s who have had to light to backslide from.

·       Instead of the graces of the Spirit, there were manifested pride, formalism, vainglory, selfishness, oppression.”

Compare with the above with:

·                "Among the professed followers of Christ, there is the same pride, formalism, vainglory, selfishness, and OPPRESSION, that existed in the Jewish nation." E.G. White, Sketches from the Life of Paul, 251-252.

·                Like Jews – Just like the Jews -- There are over 100 statements to the affect that Sodas are repeating the history of ancient Israel. Here are just a few of them:

·                “The same disobedience and failure which were seen ion the Jewish church have characterized in a greater degree the people who have had this great light from heaven in the last messages of warning.” Testimonies, Vol. 5, p. 456.

·                History repeats itself. “The thing that has been, it is that which shall be: and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.” (Ecc. 1:9). In other words, The important movements of the present have their parallel in those of the past.” (G.C. 343).

·                That the Advent Movement is an important movement of the present no one can deny and it has its parallel in the history of Ancient Israel: “The remnant church is called to go through an experience similar to that of the Jews.” (1 SM, 387). Not one of us can afford to ignore the following warning:

·                “The trials of the children of Israel, and their attitude just before the first coming of Christ, have been presented before me, again and again, to ILLUSTRATE the position of the people of God in their experience before the second coming of Christ—how the enemy sought every occasion to take control of the minds of the Jews, and today her is seeking to blind the minds of God’s servants, that they may not be able to discern the Precious Truth.” (1 SM, 406; 2 Cor 4:4).

The “precious truth” mentioned here is the light sent to the Seventh-day Adventists in 1888.

·                "I have been shown that the spirit of the world is fast leavening the church. You are following the same path as did ancient Israel. There is the same falling away from your holy calling as God's peculiar people. You are having fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness. Your concord with unbelievers have provoked he Lord's displeasure. You know not the things that belong to your peace, and they are fast being hid from your eyes. [The very words applied to fallen Israel on page 17 of The Great Controversy] Your neglect to follow the light will place you in a more unfavorable position than the Jews upon whom Christ pronounced a woe." Testimonies, Vol. 5, pp. 75-76.

·                "Like ancient Israel, the church has dishonored her God by departing from the light, neglecting her duties, and abusing her high and exalted privilege of being peculiar and holy in character. Her members have violated their covenant to live for God and him only. They have joined with the selfish and world-loving. Pride, the love of pleasure, and sin have been cherished, and CHRIST HAS DEPARTED. His Spirit has been quenched in the church. Satan works side by side with professed Christians yet they are so destitute of spiritual discernment that they do not detect him." E.G. White, Testimonies, Vol. 2, pp. 441-442.

·                Worse than Babylon -- "God's professed people are selfish and self-caring....They are idolaters, and are worse, in the sight of God, than the heathen, graven-image worshippers who have had no knowledge of a better way." Testimonies, Vol. 2, 440-442.

 [R17]The members of the church had every obgligation to support the church and remain members in 1893, which is the timeframe for this statement, for the same reason Ellen White remained a member of the church, namely:

·          The church had not yet committed any abomination that would prevent it from repenting and from being forgiven by God. In other words, it had committed no strictly forbidden, unpardonable sin.

The church had not yet introduced and married itself to the world by accepting the world’s Accreditation Standards to be taught in the curriculum of its educational facilities which it finally did in 1930. Ellen White said that it would be better to close our schools than to teach as the world’s criteria. There could be no better way for Satan to marry the church to the world than through its youth via its educational system. What was Ellen White’s prophecy in the event the church married itself to the world?: "The world must not be introduced into the church, and married to the church, forming a bond of unity. Through this means the church will become indeed corrupt, and as stated in Revelation, 'a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.'" Testimonies to Ministers, p. 265.

·         The church had not yet sold out on pillar doctrines such as it did by bringing in the Trinity Doctrine in 1930.

·         The church had not yet joined Babylon’s Associations, Counsel’s/Councils, Girdings, and/or Conspiracies/Confederacies. (See Jer. 11:9-15).

·         The church had not done anything in the lifetime of Ellen White that would make it necessary to leave its borders.

 [R18]For a short time in 1893, professing Seventh-day Adventists were indeed keeping the Laodicean Message and keeping the commandments of God. I say “for a short time” on the authority of the following statement made just two months after this statement was written in June of 1893, on August 1, 1893, Ellen White said of the corporate church (designated by comparing the church to the corporate city of Capernaum), that it would be brought down to hell.

     “Of those who boast of their light and yet fail to walk in it Christ says, "But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment than for you. And thou, Capernaum [Seventh-day Adventists, who have had great light], which art exalted unto heaven [in point of privilege], shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works which have been done in thee had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day." Ellen G. White, Review and Herald Articles, Aug. 1, 1893. [THE BRACKETED COMMENTS ARE BY ELLEN WHITE.]

 [R19]My intent here is to prove that the church was in and out of a repent state; in an out of a commandment-keeping state; in and out of a “harlot playing” state. I am not criticizing the church for that. I am demonstrating the feasibility of a church to play the harlot and then repent. But of there comes a point when a harlot conspires to become in Association, Council/Counsel, Girding and/or Confederacy with God’s enemies, that is God’s line in the sand per Jeremiah 11:9-15. God’s instructions at that point are not to even pray for such a people and that if prayer is offered for them, He says He will not hear such prayer.

Ellen White called the church a harlot before 1893. Ellen White Called the Church a Harlot of Babylon in 1882, 1893, 1898, and Again in 1903.

 [R20]"Even though you may not be able to speak a word to those who are working on wrong principles, leave them. Your withdrawal and silence may do more than words. Nehemiah refused to associate with those who were untrue to principle, and he would not permit his workmen to associate with them The love and fear of God were his safeguard-Dare to be a Daniel, Dare to stand alone. Thus as did Moses, you will endure the seeing of Him who is invisible. But a cowardly and silent reserve before evil associates, while you listen to their devices makes you one with them. Come out from among them and be separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, and will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty." Regular lines -  “So often the same old difficulties arise and are presented in regard to disturbing the ‘regular lines.’ But God will work in some way to make His people understand that THE REGULAR LINES HAVE BECOME FULL OF IRREGULAR PRACTICES…God alone can make men understand that working on REGULAR LINES has led to IRREGULAR PRACTICES.  God alone can make men’s minds as they should be.  The time has come when we should hear less in favor of the REGULAR LINES.  If we can GET AWAY FROM THE REGULAR LINES into something which, THOUGH IRREGULAR, IS AFTER GOD’S ORDER, it may cut away something of the IRREGULAR WORKING which has led away from Bible principles.”  E.G. White, Manuscript Release, #1450, p. 3, 4, 1901.

 "The Lord Jesus will always have a chosen people to serve Him. When the Jewish people rejected Christ, the Prince of life. He took from them the kingdom of God and gave it unto the Gentiles. God will continue to work on this principle with every branch of His work. When a church proves unfaithful to the work of the Lord, whatever their position may be, however high and sacred their calling, the Lord can no longer work with them. Others are then chosen to bear important responsibilities. But, if these in turn do not purify their lives from every wrong action, if they do not establish pure and holy principles in all their borders, then the Lord will grievously afflict and humble them and, unless they repent, will remove them from their place and make them a reproach.

 [R21]Here Ellen White makes it clear as crystal that to call a church a harlot is to call it Babylon. Ellen White said that if the church ever became Laodicean, it would become a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. This is Revelation 18 language to define Babylon. Here is Ellen White’s statement I refer to:

"If the church of God becomes LUKEWARM [LAODICEAN] it does not stand in favor with God any more than do the churches that are represented as having fallen and become the habitation of devils and the hold of every foul spirit and the cage of every unclean and hateful bird. Those who have had opportunities to hear and receive the truth, and who have united with the Seventh-day Adventist church, calling themselves the commandment keeping people of God, and yet possess no more vitality and consecration to God than do the nominal churches, will receive of the plagues of God just as verily as the churches who oppose the law of God." E.G. White, Letter 35, 1898.

Some Adventists in the church became Laodicean in 1852:

Some Adventists Become Laodicean 1852 (June 10)-- "Many who profess to be looking for the speedy coming of Christ, are becoming conformed to this world, and seek more earnestly the applause of those around them, than the approbation of God. They are cold and formal, like the nominal church, that they but a short time since separated from. The words addressed to the Laodicean Church, describe their present condition perfectly....And unless they heed the counsel of the 'faithful and True Witness,' and zealously repent, and obtain 'gold tried in the fire,' 'white raiment,' and 'eye-salve,' he will spue them out of his mouth." E.G. White, Review and Herald, June 10, 1852, Vol. 1, p. 18, col. 2.

Ellen White first labelled the church as in the Laodicean state in 1873:

“The message to the church of the Laodiceans is a startling denunciation, and is applicable to the people of God at the present time.” Testimonies, Vol. 3, p. 252. (See Table of Contents at beginning of book for the date of the Testimony, which is 1873).

    The church is in the Laodicean state. The presence of God is not in her midst.--NL 99 (1898). Latter Day Events, p. 49.

"To the end of time, the presence of the Spirit is to abide with the true church." E.G. White, Acts of the Apostles, p. 55.

If the church was in the Laodicean state and the presence of God was not in her midst in 1873 and 1898, but was in the true church, where was the true church? It must have been the following church:

"God has a church. It is not the great cathedral, neither is it the national establishment, neither is it the various denominations; it is the people who love God and keep His commandments. 'Where two or three are gathered together in My name, there am I in the midst of them.' Where Christ is even among the humble fewTHIS IS CHRIST'S CHURCH, for the presence of the High and Holy One who inhabiteth eternity can alone constitute a church." Upward Look, p. 315.

 "The state of the Church represented by the foolish virgins, is also spoken of as the Laodicean state." E. G. White,  Review and Herald Articles,  Vol. 2, 420, 8/19/1890.

"The history and description of the 144,000 apply to those who are to be changed at the coming of the Lord, and to no other class. First, 'having his Father's name written in their foreheads.' Said the true Witness to the Philadelphia church, 'Him that overcometh, will I make a pillar in the temple of my God. And he shall go no more out, and I will write upon him the name of my God.' Where? 'In their foreheads,' just where John saw the Father's name.' Now just as sure as the Philadelphia church is the true church of the last days, just so sure the 144,000 are sealed, just before the coming of the Lord." James White, The Advent Review, pg. 56.

 [R22]When Jesus “gathered out” His disciples from the apostate Jerusalem Temple, was that body organized? On the morn of October 23, 1844, were the 50 faithful left out of a potential of 120,000-150,000, followers of Miller the day before, an organized body?

When Paul left the apostate Temple after three months for fear his followers would be corrupted by the apostasy of the Jewish church, was that body organized? Did God work through him? When the true reformers of every succeeding generation since Christ, have left the church of their father’s because the leaders would not tolerate progressive light, were they an entity through whom God worked? Notice:

 "Christ was a protestant...The Reformers date back to Christ and the apostles. They came out and separated themselves from a religion of forms and ceremonies. Luther and his followers did not invent the reformed religion. They simply accepted it as presented by Christ and the apostles." E.G. White, Review and Herald, vol. 2, 48, col. 2.

Paul left

"And as they persisted in their rejection of the gospel the apostle (Paul) went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space for three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God. But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus." Acts, 19:8, 9.

"Fearing that the faith of the believers would be endangered by continued association with these opposers of the truth, Paul separated from them, and gathered the disciples into a distinct body." E.G. White, Acts of the Apostles, p. 286.

 "The recreant priests added licentiousness to the dark catalogue of their crimes yet they still polluted by their presence the tabernacle of the Lord, and, laden with sin, dared to come into the presence of a holy God. As the men of Israel witnessed the corrupt course of the priests, they thought it safer for their families not to come up to the appointed place of worship. Many went from Shiloh with their peace disturbed, their indignation aroused, until they at last determined to offer their sacrifices themselves, concluding that this would be fully as acceptable to God, as to sanction in any manner the abominations practiced in the Sanctuary." E.G. White, The Signs of the Times, vol. 1, p. 264, col. 3, December 1, 1881.

 "The Sanhedrin had rejected Christ's message and was bent upon His death therefore Jesus departed from Jerusalem, from the priests, the temple, the religious leaders, the people who had been instructed in the law, and turned to another class to proclaim His message, and to gather out those who should carry the gospel to all nations.

As the light and life of men was rejected by the ecclesiastical authorities in the days of Christ, so it has been rejected in every succeeding generation. Again and again the history of Christ's withdrawal from Judea has been repeated. When the Reformers preached the word of God, they had no thought of separating themselves from the established church but the religious leaders would not tolerate the light, and those that bore it were forced to seek another class, who were longing for the truth. In our day few of the professed followers of the Reformers are actuated by their spirit. Few are listening for the voice of God, and ready to accept truth in whatever guise it may be presented. Often those who follow in the steps of the Reformers are forced to turn away from the churches they love, in order to declare the plain teaching of the word of God. And many times those who are seeking for light are by the same teaching obliged to leave the church of their fathers, that they may render obedience." E.G. White, Desire of Ages, 232.

 [R23]There was every hope for Laodicea to be corrected and be repentant until she married the church to the world in the early 1930’s by accepting the Educational Accreditation Standards of the world which dictate what the church will teach in its educational institutions.

There was every hope for the church to be corrected and to repent before she accepted the Trinity Doctrine in 1930, which denies the Heavenly Sanctuary sacrifice from the foundation of the world, at which time the Holy Spirit soul of the life of Christ was divested from Him so that He could later become combined with humanity forever. It was at that time that His Holy Spirit became the third person of the Godhead.

Though the Holy Spirit had always existed as the ONE ETERNAL SPIRIT of the Father and the Son, the Son then became divested of His Holy Spirit which would have cumbered His humanity:

"Christ declared that after his ascension, he would send to his church, as his crowning gift, the Comforter, who was to take his place. This Comforter is the Holy Spirit,--the soul of his life, the efficacy of his church, the light and life of the world. With his Spirit Christ sends a reconciling influence and a power that takes away sin.

In the gift of the Spirit [HIS LIFE--THE SOUL OF HIS LIFE], Jesus gave to man the highest good that heaven could bestow....

The Spirit was given as a regenerating agency, and without this the sacrifice of Christ would have been of no avail....

It is by the Spirit that the heart is made pure. Through the Spirit the believer becomes a partaker of the divine nature. Christ has given his Spirit as a divine power to overcome all hereditary and cultivated tendencies to evil, and to impress his own character upon the church." E.G. White, Review and Herald Articles, May 19, 1904, vol. 5, p. 42.

“Christ gives them the breath of His own Spirit, the life of His own Life.” Desire of Ages, p. 827, par. 3.

“The Holy Spirit is the breath of life in the soul. The impartation of the Spirit is the impartation of the life of Christ. It imbues the receiver with the attributes of Christ.” Desire of Ages, p. 805.

The Trinity Doctrine teaches that the Holy Spirit always existed AS A SEPARATE THIRD PERSON. That is not true. At His Incarnation Jesus emptied Himself of His Divine ONLY Holy Spirit state of BEING, and became forever combined with humanity. He bequeathed His Divine ONLY nature to us for empowerment for overcoming sin and for regeneration back into His image. The Trinity Doctrine denies this high sacrifice that made the “highest good, crowning gift” that heaven could bestow available to us.

It was the heresy associated with the church’s adoption of the Trinity Doctrine, the marriage of the church to the world by adopting the world’s Accreditation Standards for education in SDA educational institutions and ecumenical confederacy with Babylon’s Associations, Counsel/Councils, and Conspiratorial Confederacy with Babylon that constituted marriage of the church to Babylon and thus closed her probation.

Ellen White said that if the church was ever to become married to the world, it would become the hold of every unclean and hateful bird. There would be no better way to marry the church to the world than:

  • By acceptance of its Educational Accreditation Standards—forcing us to teach the curriculum of the world!
  • By Accepting Rome’s Trinity Doctrine, which denies the “highest good, crowning sacrificial gift that heaven could bestow,” by denying the Sanctuary Service Sacrificial Act by which that gift accrued to mankind. The entire Christian economy is destroyed by the Trinity Doctrine which denies the heavenly Sanctuary sacrifice by which the Holy Spirit became a third person at the Incarnation when Christ was slain from the foundation of the world.
  • By forming an omega of apostasy new movement that has removed God, Selected Messages, Bk. 1, 204-5.
  • By ecumenical fraternity with Babylon.
  • By adopting the Celebration movement of Vatican II and Pentecostalism. When Israel did evil, it rejoiced (celebrated) Jer. 11:9-15 (KJV)
  • By bringing every uncouth thing into our campmeetings just before the close of probation as Ellen White prophesied would be the case. ""The things you have described as taking place in Indiana, the Lord has shown me would take place just before the close of probation. Every uncouth thing will be demonstrated. There will be shouting, with drums, music, and dancing. The senses of rational beings will become so confused that they cannot be trusted to make right decisions. And this is called the moving of the Holy Spirit.
  • "The Holy Spirit never reveals itself in such methods, in such a bedlam of noise. This is an invention of Satan to cover up his ingenious methods for making of none effect the pure, sincere, elevating, ennobling, sanctifying truth for this time. Better never have the worship of God blended with music than to use musical instruments to do the work which last January was represented to me would be brought into our camp meetings. The truth for this time needs nothing of this kind in its work of converting souls. A bedlam of noise shocks the senses and pervert that which if conducted aright might be a blessing. The powers of satanic agencies blend with the din and noise, to have a carnival, and this is termed the Holy Spirits working." Selected Messages, vol. 2, p. 36.
  • By the church doing after the manner of the world when the danger and depression of the church is greatest. "The leaven if godliness has not entirely lost its power. At the time when the danger and depression of the church are greatest, the little company who are standing in the light will be sighing and crying for the abominations that are done in the land. But MORE ESPECIALLY will their prayers arise in behalf of the church because ITS MEMBERS are doing after the manner of the world." Testimonies, Vol. 5, 209, 210.
  • By the worst abominations the church commits which God has not revealed to us:
  •      “The abominations for which the faithful ones were sighing and crying were all that could be discerned by finite eyes, but by far the worst sins, those which provoked the jealousy of the pure and holy God, were unrevealed. The great Searcher of hearts knoweth every sin committed in secret by the workers of iniquity. These persons come to feel secure in their deceptions and, because of His long-suffering, say that the Lord seeth not, and then act as though He had forsaken the earth. But He will detect their hypocrisy and will open before others those sins which they were so careful to hide.” {5T 211.3}

 [R24]We still have to sigh and cry for all the abominations in the church for our very qualification to being sealed by the Man in Linen is dependent upon such. Also, Ellen White said that Isaiah 58 is OUR WORK.

Time, place and circumstance must be considered in connection with all of Ellen White’s writings.

 [R25]A church that is committing abominations for which we are to sigh and cry is not God’s commandment-keeping people. We weigh any church according to God’s scale—Isaiah 8:20. That is not pronouncing OUR HUMAN JUDGMENT against the church. It is weighing according to God’s standard of judgment and every person makes this JUDGMENT when he/she decides to be a Seventh-day Adventist.

 [R26]Again, sighing and crying for all the abominations is according to God’s instruction, Ezekiel 9:6. It is a condition for receiving the Seal of God. Here is an example of proper sighing and crying in addition to what I have said about marrying the church to the world via the World’s Accreditation Standards and adopting Rome’s Central Doctrine, the Trinity Doctrine:

 [R27]This is what we are supposed to do as members of a church that is heeding the Laodicean message and keeping the commandments of God. But when a church begins a new movement that removes God (1SM 204-5), we are to follow this counsel:

"The enemy of souls has sought to bring in the supposition that a great reformation was to take place among Seventh-day Adventists, and that this reformation would consist in giving up the doctrines which stand as the pillars of our faith, and engaging in a process of reorganization. Were this reformation to take place, what would result? The principles of truth that God in His wisdom has given to the remnant church, would be discarded. Our religion would be changed. The fundamental principles that have sustained the work for the last fifty years would be accounted as error. A NEW ORGANIZATION would be established. Books of a NEW ORDER would be written. A system of intellectual philosophy would be introduced. The founders of this system would go into the cities, and do a wonderful work. The Sabbath of course, would be lightly regarded, as also the God who created it. Nothing would be allowed to stand in the way of the NEW MOVEMENT. The leaders would teach that virtue is better than vice, but GOD BEING REMOVED, they would place their dependence on human power, which, without God, is worthless. Their foundation would be built on the sand, and storm and tempest would sweep away the structure.

Who has authority to begin such a [NEW] movement? We have our Bibles, we have our experience, attested to by the miraculous working of the Holy Spirit. We have a truth that admits of no compromise. Shall we not repudiate everything that is not in harmony with this truth? E.G. White, Selected Messages, Vol. 1, 204, 205.

Any SDA True Reformer can you give an abundance of proofs as to how every specification of the above statement has been fulfilled.

 [R28]This was great counsel in 1893, when the church was keeping the commandments of God and heeding the Laodicean message! But there is a point at which restoration is no longer possible and the church reached that point long ago. The church has committed the same abominations in principle which God told Jeremiah not to even pray about. But the apostate SDA church will be using these words to excuse themselves while they are being slaughtered in another literal fulfillment of Ezekiel 9, prophesied by God and Ellen White.

 [R29]The omega of apostasy new movement masquerading as the professing Seventh-day Adventist church, no longer qualifies as a church, because it has removed God, and Ellen White plainly states that only the presence of Christ can constitute a church.

 [R30]We cannot restore what God has told us to not even pray for. When Isaiah 8:9-13 is violated, there is one option and it does not include restoration—“broken in pieces,” stated three times.
